Temperature and Straw Quality Regulate the Microbial Phospholipid Fatty Acid Composition Associated with Straw Decomposition显示文摘Variations in temperature and moisture play an important role in soil organic matter(SOM) decomposition. However, relationships between changes in microbial community composition induced by increasing temperature and SOM decomposition are still unclear. The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of temperature and moisture levels on soil respiration and microbial communities involved in straw decomposition and elucidate the impact of microbial communities on straw mass loss. A 120-d litterbag experiment was conducted using wheat and maize straw at three levels of soil moisture(40%, 70%, and 90% of water-holding capacity)and temperature(15, 25, and 35?C). The microbial communities were then assessed by phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA) analysis. With the exception of fungal PLFAs in maize straw at day 120, the PLFAs indicative of Gram-negative bacteria and fungi decreased with increasing temperatures. Temperature and straw C/N ratio significantly affected the microbial PLFA composition at the early stage, while soil microbial biomass carbon(C) had a stronger effect than straw C/N ratio at the later stage. Soil moisture levels exhibited no significant effect on microbial PLFA composition. Total PLFAs significantly influenced straw mass loss at the early stage of decomposition, but not at the later stage. In addition, the ratio of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacterial PLFAs was negatively correlated with the straw mass loss. These results indicated that shifts in microbial PLFA composition induced by temperature, straw quality, and microbial C sources could lead to changes in straw decomposition.ZHOU Guixiang ZHANG Jiabao CHEN Lin ZHANG Congzhi YU Zhenghong 2016Pedosphere2016,26,3:4
A Teosinte-derived Allele of a MYB Transcription Repressor Confers Multiple Disease Resistance in Maize.显示文摘Natural alleles controlling multiple disease resistances (MDR) are valuable for crop breeding. However, only one MDR gene have been cloned in maize, and molecular mechanisms of MDR are not clear. By map-based cloning, we have cloned a teosinte-derived allele of a resistance gene, Mexicana lesion mimic 1 (ZmMM1), which has a lesion mimic phenotype and confers resistance to northern leaf blight (NLB), gray leaf spot (GLS) and southern corn rust (SCR). Strong MDR conferred by the teosinte allele is linked with the polymorphisms in the 3' untranslated region of the ZmMM1 gene that cause increased accumulation of ZmMM1 protein. ZmMM1 acts as a transcription repressor and negatively regulates transcription of specific target genes including ZmMM1-target gene 3 (ZmMT3), which functions as a negative regulator of plant immunity and associated cell death. The successful isolation of the ZmMM1 resistance gene will help not only in developing broad-spectrum and durable disease resistance but also in understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying MDR.Hongze Wang Jiabao Hou Pei Ye Long Hu Junshi Huang Zhikang Dai Bao Zhang Sha Dai Jiamin Que Haoxuan Min Gengshen Chen Yanbo Wang Min Jiang Yan Liang Lin Li Xuecai Zhang Zhibing Lai 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,11:4

Haplotype-resolved genome of diploid ginger (Zingiber officinale) and its unique gingerol biosynthetic pathway显示文摘Ginger(Zingiber officinale),the type species of Zingiberaceae,is one of the most widespread medicinal plants and spices. Here,we report a high-quality,chromosome-scale reference genome of ginger‘Zhugen’,a traditionally cultivated ginger in Southwest China used as a fresh vegetable, assembled from PacBio long reads,Illumina short reads, and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture(Hi-C)reads.The ginger genome was phased into two haplotypes, haplotype 1(1.53 Gb with a contig N50 of 4.68 M)and haplotype 0(1.51 Gb with a contig N50 of 5.28 M).Homologous ginger chromosomes maintained excellent gene pair collinearity. In 17,226 pairs of allelic genes,11.9%exhibited differential expression between alleles.Based on the results of ginger genome sequencing, transcriptome analysis, and metabolomic analysis,we proposed a backbone biosynthetic pathway of gingerol analogs, which consists of 12 enzymatic gene families,PAL,C4H,4CL,CST,C3’H,C3OMT,CCOMT,CSE,PKS,AOR,DHN,and DHT.These analyses also identified the likely transcription factor networks that regulate the synthesis of gingerol analogs.Overall, this study serves as an excellent resource for further research on ginger biology and breeding, lays a foundation for a better understanding of ginger evolution, and presents an intact biosynthetic pathway for species-specific gingerol biosynthesis.Hong-Lei Li Lin Wu Zhaoming Dong Yusong Jiang Sanjie Jiang Haitao Xing Qiang Li Guocheng Liu Shuming Tian Zhangyan Wu Bin Wu Zhexin Li Ping Zhao Yan Zhang Jianmin Tang Jiabao Xu Ke Huang Xia Liu Wenlin Zhang Qinhong Liao Yun Ren Xinzheng Huang Qingzhi Li Chengyong Li Yi Wang Baskaran Xavier-Ravi Honghai Li Yang Liu Tao Wan Qinhu Liu Yong Zou Jianbo Jian Qingyou Xia Yiqing Liu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2
Soil Characteristics Overwhelm Cultivar Effects on the Structure and Assembly of Root-Associated Microbiomes of Modern Maize显示文摘Modern breeding primarily targets crop yield traits and is likely to influence root-associated microbiomes, which play significant roles in plant growth and health. The relative importance of soil and cultivar factors in shaping root-associated microbiomes of modern maize (Zea mays L.) remains uncertain. We conducted a pot experiment in a controlled environment using three soils (Mollisol, Inceptisol, and Ultisol) and four contrasting cultivars, Denghai 605, Nonghua 816, Qiaoyu 8, and Zhengdan 958, which are widely planted in China. We used 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to characterize the bacterial communities in the bulk soil, rhizosphere, and endosphere. Our results showed that the four cultivars had different shoot biomass and root exudate total organic carbon and organic acid contents. The microbiomes in the bulk soil, rhizosphere, and endosphere were different. We observed apparent community divergence between soils rather than cultivars, within which edaphic factors substantially contributed to microbiome variation. Moreover, permutational multivariate analysis of variance corroborated significant contributions of soil type but not cultivar on the root-associated microbiome structure. Differential abundance analysis confirmed that each soil presented a distinct root microbiome, while network analysis indicated different co-occurrence patterns of the root microbiome among the three soils. The core root microbiome members are implicated in plant growth promotion and nutrient acquisition in the roots. In conclusion, root-associated microbiomes of modern maize are much more controlled by soil characteristics than by cultivar root exudation. Our study is anticipated to help improve breeding strategies through integrative interactions of soils, cultivars, and their associated microbiomes.CHEN Lin XIN Xiuli ZHANG Jiabao Marc REDMILE-GORDON NIE Guangsen WANG Qingyun 2019Pedosphere2019,29,3:2
Potential Treatment of COVID-19 with Traditional Chinese Medicine: What Herbs Can Help Win the Battle with SARS-CoV-2?显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been successfully applied worldwide in the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2).However,the pharmacological mechanisms underlying this success remain unclear.Hence, the aim of this review is to combine pharmacological assays based on the theory of TCM in order to elucidate the potential signaling pathways, targets, active compounds, and formulas of herbs that are involved in the TCM treatment of COVID-19,which exhibits combatting viral infections, immune regulation, and amelioration of lung injury and fibrosis.Extensive reports on target screening are elucidated using virtual prediction via docking analysis or network pharmacology based on existing data. The results of these reports indicate that an intricate regulatory mechanism is involved in the pathogenesis of COVID-19.Therefore,more pharmacological research on the natural herbs used in TCM should be conducted in order to determine the association between TCM and COVID-19 and account for the observed therapeutic effects of TCM against COVID-19.Lin Li Yuzheng Wu Jiabao Wang Huimin Yan Jia Lu Yu Wang Boli Zhang Junhua Zhang Jian Yang Xiaoying Wang Min Zhang Yue Li Lin Miao Han Zhang 2022Engineering2022,,12:1

Zeolite-mediated hybrid Cu^(+)/Cu~0 interface for electrochemical nitrate reduction to ammonia显示文摘The electrocatalytic conversion of reactive nitrogen species to ammonia is a promising strategy for efficient NH_(3) synthesis. In this study,we reveal that the hybrid Cu^(+)/Cu~0 interface is catalytically active for electrochemical ammonia synthesis from nitrate reduction. To maintain the hybrid Cu^(+)/Cu~0 state at negative reaction potentials, hydrophilic zeolite is used to modify Cu/Cu_(2)O electrocatalyst, which demonstrates an impressive NH_(3) production rate of 41.65 mg h^(-1) cm^(-2)with ~100% Faradaic efficiency of ammonia synthesis at-0.6 V vs.RHE.In-situ Raman spectroscopy unveil the high activity originates from the zeolite reconstruction at the electrode–electrolyte interface, which protects the valence state of Cu~0/Cu^(+) site under negative potential and promotes electrochemical activity towards NH_(3) synthesis.Jiabao Lv Angjian Wu Liang Wang Yunhao Zhong Zhihao Zeng Qunxing Huang Xiaoqing Lin Hao Zhang Shaojun Liu Qian Liu Songqiang Zhu Xiaodong Li Jianhua Yan Zhifu Qi Hao Bin Wu 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,12:0
Skeleton Keypoints Extraction Method Combined with Object Detection显示文摘Big data is a comprehensive result of the development of the Internet of Things and information systems.Computer vision requires a lot of data as the basis for research.Because skeleton data can adapt well to dynamic environment and complex background,it is used in action recognition tasks. In recent years,skeleton-based action recognition has received more and more attention in the field of computer vision. Therefore, the keypoints of human skeletons are essential for describing the pose estimation of human and predicting the action recognition of the human. This paper proposes a skeleton point extraction method combined with object detection, which can focus on the extraction of skeleton keypoints. After a large number of experiments, our model can be combined with object detection for skeleton points extraction, and the detection efficiency is improved.Jiabao Shi Zhao Qiu Tao Chen Jiale Lin Hancheng Huang Yunlong He d Yu Yang 2022Journal of New Media2022,4,2:0
Ar-plasma enhanced copper-nickel alloy catalysis for ammonia synthesis显示文摘Ammonia(NH_(3))synthesis via electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction generally suffers from low NH_(3)yield and faradaic efficiency.Compared with activating stable,low-solubility N_(2),the electrochemical conversion of nitrates to ammonia provides a more reasonable route for NH_(3)production.Herein,we introduce Ar-plasma to enhance the interaction between copper-nickel alloys and carbon substrate to improve the performance of NH_(3)production.The NH_(3)faradaic efficiency from nitrate is nearly 100%and the yield rate is over 6000μgNH_(3)cm^(−2)h^(−1).DFT(density functional theory)calculation reveals the high performance of Cu_(50)Ni_(50)originates from the lower energy barrier on the reaction path and the closer position to the Fermi level of the d-band center. This work offers a promising strategy for plasma-modified electrocatalyst to promote ammonia synthesis via nitrate reduction.Zhou Yimeng Lv Jiabao Peng Yaqi Lin Xiaoqing Lv Xingjie Ye Qiulin Liu Shaojun Wu Angjian Li Xiaodong 2022Waste Disposal and Sustainable Energy2022,4,2:0

Deeply‐Recursive Attention Network for video steganography显示文摘Video steganography plays an important role in secret communication that conceals a secret video in a cover video by perturbing the value of pixels in the cover frames.Imperceptibility is the first and foremost requirement of any steganographic approach.Inspired by the fact that human eyes perceive pixel perturbation differently in different video areas,a novel effective and efficient Deeply‐Recursive Attention Network(DRANet)for video steganography to find suitable areas for information hiding via modelling spatio‐temporal attention is proposed. The DRANet mainly contains two important components,a Non‐Local Self‐Attention(NLSA)block and a Non‐Local Co‐Attention(NLCA)block.Specifically, the NLSA block can select the cover frame areas which are suitable for hiding by computing the correlations among inter‐and intra‐cover frames. The NLCA block aims to effectively produce the enhanced representations of the secret frames to enhance the robustness of the model and alleviate the influence of different areas in the secret video.Furthermore, the DRANet reduces the model parameters by performing similar operations on the different frames within an input video recursively.Experimental results show the proposed DRANet achieves better performance with fewer parameters than the state‐of‐the‐art competitors.Jiabao Cui Liangli Zheng Yunlong Yu Yining Lin Huajian Ni Xin Xu Zhongfei Zhang 2023CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2023,8,4:0
Regulation of innate and adaptive immunity using herbal medicine:benefits for the COVID-19 vaccination显示文摘Vaccination is a major achievement that has become an effective prevention strategy against infectious diseases and active control of emerging pathogens worldwide. In response to the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,several diverse vaccines against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 have been developed and deployed for use in a large number of individuals, and have been reported to protect against symptomatic COVID-19 cases and deaths. However, the application of vaccines has a series of limitations, including protective failure for variants of concern, unavailability of individuals due to immune deficiency, and the disappearance of immune protection for increasing infections in vaccinated individuals. These aspects raise the question of how to modulate the immune system that contributes to the COVID-19 vaccine protective effects.Herbal medicines are widely used for their immune regulatory abilities in clinics.More attractively, herbal medicines have been well accepted for their positive role in the COVID-19 prevention and suppression through regulation of the immune system. This review presents a brief overview of the strategy of COVID-19 vaccination and the response of the immune system to vaccines, the regulatory effects and mechanisms of herbal medicine in immune-related macrophages, natural killer cells, dendritic cells, and lymphocytes T and B cells, and how they help vaccines work.Later in the article, the potential role and application of herbal medicines in the most recent COVID-19 vaccination are discussed. This article provides new insights into herbal medicines as promising alternative supplements that may benefit from COVID-19 vaccination.Xuan Li Nuttapong Wichai Jiabao Wang Xiuping Liu Huimin Yan Yu Wang Mingchi Luo Shengyuan Zhou Kai Wang Lin Li Lin Miao 2022Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine2022,2,3:0
