| 1 | Spatial and temporal evolution of landfast ice near Zhongshan Station, East Antarctica, over an annual cycle in 2011/2012显示文摘Annual observations of first-year ice(FYI) and second-year ice(SYI) near Zhongshan Station, East Antarctica,were conducted for the first time from December 2011 to December 2012. Melt ponds appeared from early December 2011. Landfast ice partly broke in late January, 2012 after a strong cyclone. Open water was refrozen to form new ice cover in mid-February, and then FYI and SYI co-existed in March with a growth rate of 0.8 cm/d for FYI and a melting rate of 2.7 cm/d for SYI. This difference was due to the oceanic heat flux and the thickness of ice,with weaker heat flux through thicker ice. From May onward, FYI and SYI showed a similar growth by 0.5 cm/d.Their maximum thickness reached 160.5 cm and 167.0 cm, respectively, in late October. Drillings showed variations of FYI thickness to be generally less than 1.0 cm, but variations were up to 33.0 cm for SYI in March,suggesting that the SYI bottom was particularly uneven. Snow distribution was strongly affected by wind and surface roughness, leading to large thickness differences in the different sites. Snow and ice thickness in Nella Fjord had a similar 'east thicker, west thinner' spatial distribution. Easterly prevailing wind and local topography led to this snow pattern. Superimposed ice induced by snow cover melting in summer thickened multi-year ice,causing it to be thicker than the snow-free SYI. The estimated monthly oceanic heat flux was ~30.0 W/m2 in March–May, reducing to ~10.0 W/m2 during July–October, and increasing to ~15.0 W/m2 in November. The seasonal change and mean value of 15.6 W/m2 was similar to the findings of previous research. | 6 | Beliefs towards the COVID-19 pandemic among patients with emotional disorders in China显示文摘Background The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has given rise to fear and panic in the public.Although hospitals in China reduced outpatient visits and restricted inpatient admission to lower the risk of transmission of COVID-19,this has significantly affected patients in need of medical attention,for example,patients with emotional disorders.Aims This study aimed to compare the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders(ie,anxiety or depression)with those offamily caregivers and the general public and examine factors that shape the beliefs towards COVID-19 among outpatients with emotional disorders.Methods Survey data from 570 outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders,449 family caregivers and 470 general public subjects were collected.Multiple stepwise regression analyses were used to describe participants'level of concern,prevention atitude and positive expectations towards the COVID-19 outbreak.Results About 70.9%of outpatients had to postpone their mental health treatment;43.2%of patients admitted that their mental health was adversely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak--these patients tended to be older,male and less educated.After controlling for age and education level,outpatients with emotional disorders had significantly lower levels of concerns but more negative expectations towards COVID-19,compared with family caregivers and the public.Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that age,education and the perception of the impact of COVID-19 on one's existing mental ilness were significantly associated with outpatients'beliefs about the epidemic.Conclusion Outpatients with anxiety or depression disorders were relatively less focused on the COVID-19 outbreak,but the impact of the infection was found to be independently associated with their beliefs towards COVID-19.In addition,outpatients who were older and of low educational levels particularly held more negative beliefs about the epidemic,which may place them at a higher risk for poor mental health. | Yining Gao Fei Sun Wenwen Jiang Yuan Fang Ling Yue Xiang Lin Xia Li | 2020 | General Psychiatry2020,33,3: | 1 |

TEAD4 and YAP can also cooperate with transforminggrowth factor-β (TGF-β)-activated Smad proteins to regulate gene transcription. Yet, it remains unclear whether TEAD4 playsa YAP-independent role in TGF-β signaling. Here, we unveil a novel tumor suppressive function of TEAD4 in liver cancer viamitigating TGF-β signaling. Ectopic TEAD4 inhibited TGF-β-induced signal transduction, Smad transcriptional activity, and targetgene transcription, consequently suppressing hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation and migration in vitro and xenografttumorgrowth in mice. Consistently, depletion of endogenous TEAD4 by siRNAs enhanced TGF-β signaling in cancer cells. Mechanistically,TEAD4 associates with receptor-regulated Smads (Smad2/3) and Smad4 in the nucleus, thereby impairing the binding of Smad2/3to the histone acetyltransferase p300. | 11 | Two-dimensional Modeling of the Tearing-mode-governed Magnetic Reconnection in the Large-scale Current Sheet above the Two-ribbon Flare显示文摘We attempt to model magnetic reconnection during the two-ribbon flare in a gravitationally stratified solar atmosphere with the Lundquist number of S=10~6 using 2 D simulations.We found that the tearing mode instability leads to inhomogeneous turbulence inside the reconnecting current sheet(CS)and invokes the fast phase of reconnection.Fast reconnection brings an extra dissipation of magnetic field which enhances the reconnection rate in an apparent way.The energy spectrum in the CS shows a power law pattern and the dynamics of plasmoids govern the associated spectral index.We noticed that the energy dissipation occurs at a scale l_(ko)of 100-200 km,and the associated CS thickness ranges from 1500 to 2500 km,which follows the Taylor scale l_(T)=l_(ko)S_(1/6).The termination shock(TS)appears in the turbulent region above flare loops,which is an important contributor to heating flare loops.Substantial magnetic energy is converted into both kinetic and thermal energies via TS,and the cumulative heating rate is greater than the rate of the kinetic energy transfer.In addition,the turbulence is somehow amplified by TS,in which the amplitude is related to the local geometry of the TS. | Yining Zhang Jing Ye Zhixing Mei Yan Li Jun Lin | 2022 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2022,22,8: | 0 |
