| 1 | Role of ZnO-CeO_2 Nanostructures as a Photo-catalyst and Chemi-sensor显示文摘ZnO-CeO2 nanostructures were synthesized by simple and effcient low temperature method. The structure and morphology of the ZnO-CeO2 nanostructures were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), which revealed elongated shaped CeO2 nanoparticles with diameters of 40-90 nm distributed on the surface of elongated ZnO nanostructures with diameters of 50-200 nm (edge-centre). Further the structure of the synthesized ZnO-CeO2 nanostructure was supported by Raman spectra and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). UV-vis absorption spectrum was used to confirm the optical properties of the CeO2 doped ZnO nanostructures. Photo-catalytic activity of CeO2 doped ZnO nanostructure was evaluated by degradation of acridine orange and methylene blue which degraded 84.55% and 48.65% in 170 min, respectively. ZnO-CeO2 nanostructures also showed good sensitivity (0.8331 μA·cm-2·(mol/l)-1) in short response time (10 s) by applying to chemical sensing using ethanol as a target compound by I-V technique. These degradation and chemical sensing properties of ZnO-CeO2 nanostructures are of great importance for the application of ZnO-CeO2 system as a photo-catalyst and chemical sensor. | M. | 2 | Flying with the Dragon:Estimating Developing Countries’Gains from China’s Imports显示文摘As a large trading nation,China competes with importing countries'domestic and thirdcountry markets but also creates growth opportunities fo r exporters.Most studies on China trade shocks or 'China shocks'focuse on the impacts of import competition on developed economies.The present paper complements research on China shocks by exploring the other side of the trade exposure to China-China as the largest importer,rather than as an exporter.We analyze the effects of export expansion into China on the local labor markets of the exporting developing countries for the years 1992 to 2018.Using detailed export and employment data,we estimate employment pattern variations in manufacturing industries with exports from other developing countries as instruments for export exposure.We find that the increase in trade exposure to China in the world economy has caused extensive job gains in manufacturing industries in developing countries that were exporters.On average,our estimations show that this trade exposure created approximately 1.5 million additional jobs from 1992 to 2018,which made an important contribution to manufacturing industries in developing countries.Our empirical analysis also shows that trade had stabilizing effects on employment in the countries in our sample generally. | Xuefeng Qian Kalsoom Rafique Yingna Wu | 2020 | China & World Economy2020,28,5: | 2 |

| 15 | Synthesis of metal oxide composite nanosheets and their pressure sensing properties显示文摘This study presents the synthesis of metal oxides composite nanosheets(oxides of cobalt, zinc and iron) and their pressure sensing properties. A transducer has been fabricated to directly measure the resistance–pressure and impedance–pressure relationships of pristine nanopowder. At the initial stage, a nanopowder sample of 10 mm diameter and 1 mm height was placed in the transducer and by applying pressure of up to 8.15 kN/m2;the DC resistance and the impedance are reduced by 44% on average. It can be explained by the densification of the samples and a decrease in porosity due to the effect of pressure. It was also observed that the DC resistance increases with time and saturated within 8 min. It is considered that this phenomenon is based on the effect of displacement currents of bound charges. | 18 | In Vitro Synthetic Seed Production of Potato under Different Fungicide Levels and Storage Intervals显示文摘Potato propagation through tubers and seed is an inefficient way of propagation thus we propose an alternative method in this study which is in vitro propagation.Plantlets were raised from True Potato Seeds(TPS)in test tubes containing 10 mL of Murashige Skoog(MS)medium.Subculturing was done after every 21 days and after four subsequent subculturing,when there was an adequate quantity of stock material,uninodal cuttings of about 3-4 mm in length were prepared from in vitro proliferated potato plants by excising leaves of 1-2 mm on each side of the node.Prepared uninodal cuttings were cultured on 1/2 strength MS medium for root primordia development.The selected uninodal cuttings with root primordia were encapsulated with sodium alginate solution(3.5%(w/v)),mixed with 1.25%charcoal and different concentration of fungicide(thiophanate methyl,sigma)to enhance the viability percentage of synthetic seed.Furthermore,these encapsulated uninodal cuttings were subjected to different storage intervals to check maximum storage.Results showed that optimum dose for fungicide is 150 mg/L as it resulted in good viability percentage,shoot number,shoot length,rooting percentage,root number,root length and ideal for bead formation with sodium alginate.Similarly,results revealed that encapsulated uninodal cuttings can be stored at a temperature of 4℃ up to 45 days with a survival rate of 63.33%.Encapsulated uninodal cutting stored for 60 days showed a poor viability percentage of about 43.03%.It can be concluded that optimum dose of 150 mg/L with storage time of 45 days should be used to get a better outcome for synthetic potato seed production. | Tahira Kalsoom Touqeer Ahmed Muhammad Azam Khan Mirza Hasanuzzaman Mukhtar Ahmed Stefaan P.O.Werbrouck | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,8: | 0 |
