| 1 | Formation of subsurface cracks in silicon wafers by grinding显示文摘Single-crystal silicon is an important material in the semiconductor and optical industries.However,being hard and brittle,a silicon wafer is vulnerable to subsurface cracks(SSCs)during grinding,which is detrimental to the performance and lifetime of a wafer product.Therefore,studying the formation of SSCs is important for optimizing SSC-removal processes and thus improving surface integrity.In this study,a statistical method is used to study the formation of SSCs induced during grinding of silicon wafers.The statistical results show that grinding-induced SSCs are not stochastic but anisotropic in their distributions.Generally,when grinding with coarse abrasive grains,SSCs form along the cleavage planes,primarily the{111}planes.However,when grinding with finer abrasive grains,SSCs tend to form along planes with a fracture-surface energy higher than that of the cleavage planes.These findings provide a guidance for the accurate detection of SSCs in ground silicon wafers. | Jingfei Yin Qian Bai Yinnan Li Bi Zhang | 2018 | Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2018,1,3: | 3 |
| 2 | Molecular evolution of rice S_5~n and functional comparison among different sequences显示文摘The wide compatibility gene, S 5 n , can overcome embryo sac sterility between indica and japonica subspecies of rice. Therefore, it is very important to characterize the features of the S 5 n sequence to reveal the origin and evolution of S 5 n . In this paper, 26 cultivated rice haplotypes and 22 wild rice accessions harboring S 5 n were used to sequence S 5 n . The results showed that 15 genotypes among the 48 materials were fully consistent with control cultivar 02428 (CK). The other 33 accessions had different degrees of variation in the S 5 n sequence. Variations in the coding region mainly occurred in the second exon and eight materials showed a 10-bp deletion at 1710–1719 bp, including wild (O. nivara) and cultivated rice, such as IRW501 and Yuetai B. S 5 n sequences were not biased and evolved neutrally. The 48 materials could be divided into 4 categories using a phylogenetic tree of the amino acid sequences. Most of the wild rice clustered together, and the cultivated rice clustered into another group. Eight cultivated rice and O. nivara (wild rice) clustered in another group, which were found to lack 10 consecutive bases in exon 2. Eight rice varieties with high numbers of differences in their S 5 n coding regions were crossed with testers (typically indica and japonica) to produced test cross F 1 populations. The F 1 s were examined for their ability to overcome indica-japonica hybrid sterility. | 5 | Structure-guided manipulation of the regioselectivity of the cyclosporine A hydroxylase CYP-sb21 from Sebekia benihana显示文摘The cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP-sb21 from the rare actinomycete Sebekia benihana is capable of hydroxylating the immunosuppressive drug molecule cyclosporine A(CsA)primarily at the 4th N-methyl leucine(MeLeu4),giving rise toγ-hydroxy-N-methyl-L-Leu4-CsA(CsA-4-OH).This oxidative modification of CsA leads to dramatically reduced immunosuppressive activity while retaining the hair growth-promoting side-effect,thus demonstrating great application potential in both pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.However,this P450 enzyme also hydroxylates CsA at the unwanted position of the 9th N-methyl leucine(MeLeu9),indicating that the regioselectivity needs to be improved for the development of CsA-4-OH into a commercial hair growth stimulator.Herein,we report the crystal structure of CYP-sb21 in its substrate-free form at 1.85Å.Together with sequence and 3D structure comparisons,Autodock-based substrate docking,molecular dynamics(MD)simulation,and site-directed mutagenesis,we identified a number of key residues including R294,E264,and M179 that can improve catalytic efficiency or change the regioselectivity of CYP-sb21 towards CsA,setting the stage for better enzymatic preparation of CsA-4-OH.This study also provides new insights into the substrate recognition and binding mechanism of P450 enzymes that accommodate bulky substrates. | Fengwei Li Li Ma Xingwang Zhang Jingfei Chen Feifei Qi Yinyue Huang Zepeng Qu Lishan Yao Wei Zhang Eung-Soo Kim Shengying Li | 2020 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2020,5,3: | 1 |

| 8 | Tilt of primordial gravitational wave spectrum in a universe with sterile neutrinos显示文摘In this work,we constrain the spectral index ntof the primordial gravitational wave power spectrum in a universe with sterile neutrinos by using the Planck temperature data,the WMAP 9-year polarization data,the baryon acoustic oscillation data,and the BICEP2 data.We call this model theΛCDM+r+νs+ntmodel.The additional massive sterile neutrino species can significantly relieve the tension between the Planck and BICEP2 data,and thus can reduce the possible effects of this tension on the fit results of nt.To constrain the parameters of sterile neutrino,we also utilize the Hubble constant direct measurement data,the Planck Sunyaev-Zeldovich cluster counts data,the Planck CMB lensing data,and the cosmic shear data.We find that due to the fact that the BICEP2 data are most sensitive to the multipole~150 corresponding to k~0.01 Mpc-1,there exists a strong anticorrelation between ntand r0.002in the BICEP2 data,and this further results in a strongly blue-tilt spectrum.However,a slightly red-tilt tensor power spectrum is also allowed by the BICEP2 data in the region with larger value of r0.002.By using the full data sets,we obtain meffν,sterile=0.48+0.11-0.13eV,Neff=3.73+0.34-0.37,and nt=0.96+0.48-0.63for theΛCDM+r+νs+ntmodel. | Li YunHe ZHANG JingFei ZHANG Xin | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,8: | 1 |

| 11 | Research on the feasibility of storage and estimation model of storage capacity of CO_(2)in fissures of coal mine old goaf显示文摘The concept of the carbon cycle in the old goaf of a coal mine based on CO_(2)utilization and storage was put forward adhering to the principle of low-carbon development,utilization of space resources in old goafs,and associated gas resources development.Firstly,the evolution characteristics of overburden fissures in the goaf of the case was studied using a two-dimensional physical similarity simulation test,the sealing performance of the caprocks after stabilization was analyzed,and the fissures were counted and classi-fied.Then,the process of gaseous CO_(2)injection in the connected fissure was simulated by Ansys Fluent software,and the migration law and distribution characteristics of CO_(2)under the condition of gaseous CO_(2)injection were analyzed.Finally,the estimation models of free CO_(2)storage capacity in the old goaf were constructed considering the proportion of connected fissure and the effectiveness of CO_(2)injection.The CO_(2)storage capacity in the old goaf of the case coal mine was estimated.The results showed that a caprock group of“hard-thickness low-permeability hard-thickness”was formed after the caprock-fissures system in the goaf of the case tended to be stable vertically.The connected fissure,occlude cracks,and micro-fractures in the goaf accounted for 85.5%,8.5%,and 6%of the total fissures,respectively.Gaseous CO_(2)first migrated to the bottom of the connected fissure after CO_(2)was injected into the goaf,then spread horizontally along the bottom of the connected fissure after reaching the bottom,and finally spread longitudinally after filling the bottom of the entire connected fissure.The theoretical and effective storage capacities of free CO_(2)at normal temperature and pressure in the old goaf of the case were 9757 and 7477 t,respectively.The effective storage capacity of free CO_(2)at normal temperature and pressure in the old goaf after all minefield mined was 193404 t.The research can provide some reference for the coal mining industry to help the goal of“carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”. | Yang Ding Shugang Li Bing Zhu Haifei Lin Jingfei Zhang Junhong Tan Wenbin Chen | 2023 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2023,33,6: | 1 |

| 14 | Influence of alumina abrasive tool wear on ground surface characteristics and corrosion properties of K444 nickel-based superalloy显示文摘K444 nickel-based superalloy is an important material to manufacture the gas turbine due to its excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures and corrosion resistance.Currently,grinding is the mostly used method for the surface finish of the K444 alloy components.However,few studies worked on the effects of the abrasive tool wear on the ground surface characteristics and corrosion properties of K444 alloy.This study uses two different-type alumina abrasive tools,i.e.,white alumina(WA)and microcrystalline alumina(MA)wheels,to grind the K444 alloy.The influence of the alumina abrasive tool wear on ground surface characteristics and corrosion resistance performance are investigated.It is discovered that the MA wheel presents a slighter wheel wear and higher self-sharpening than the WA wheel.Compared to the WA wheel,the MA wheel has less material adhesion,which leads to a better surface finish.In the corrosion testing,the maximum corrosion depth is 80μm in the surface ground by the MA wheel but 100μm in the surface ground by the WA wheel,which demonstrates that the MA wheel grinding benefits the surface corrosion resistance of K444 alloy.Therefore,this study could provide a guide to selecting the abrasive tools and optimizing the grinding process of the K444 alloy. | Min LI Jingfei YIN Linbo CHE Wenfeng DING Jiuhua XU | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,6: | 0 |

| 16 | Mesenchymal stem cell-derived apoptotic bodies alleviate alveolar bone destruction by regulating osteoclast differentiation and function显示文摘Periodontitis is caused by overactive osteoclast activity that results in the loss of periodontal supporting tissue and mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are essential for periodontal regeneration.However,the hypoxic periodontal microenvironment during periodontitis induces the apoptosis of MSCs.Apoptotic bodies(ABs)are the major product of apoptotic cells and have been attracting increased attention as potential mediators for periodontitis treatment,thus we investigated the effects of ABs derived from MSCs on periodontitis.MSCs were derived from bone marrows of mice and were cultured under hypoxic conditions for 72 h,after which ABs were isolated from the culture supernatant using a multi-filtration system.The results demonstrate that ABs derived from MSCs inhibited osteoclast differentiation and alveolar bone resorption.miRNA array analysis showed that miR-223-3p is highly enriched in those ABs and is critical for their therapeutic effects.Targetscan and luciferase activity results confirmed that Itgb1 is targeted by miR-223-3p,which interferes with the function of osteoclasts.Additionally,DC-STAMP is a key regulator that mediates membrane infusion.ABs and pre-osteoclasts expressed high levels of DC-STAMP on their membranes,which mediates the engulfment of ABs by pre-osteoclasts.ABs with knock-down of DC-STAMP failed to be engulfed by pre-osteoclasts.Collectively,MSC-derived ABs are targeted to be engulfed by pre-osteoclasts via DC-STAMP,which rescued alveolar bone loss by transferring miR-223-3p to osteoclasts,which in turn led to the attenuation of their differentiation and bone resorption.These results suggest that MSC-derived ABs are promising therapeutic agents for the treatment of periodontitis. | Xiaoyan Li Yiyang Jiang Xu Liu Jingfei Fu Juan Du Zhenhua Luo Junji Xu Ujjal Kumar Bhawal Yi Liu Lijia Guo | 2023 | International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,4: | 0 |

| 19 | Selective deletion of zinc transporter 3 in amacrine cells promotes retinal ganglion cell survival and optic nerve regeneration after injury显示文摘Vision depends on accurate signal conduction from the retina to the brain through the optic nerve,an important part of the central nervous system that consists of bundles of axons originating from retinal ganglion cells.The mammalian optic nerve,an important part of the central nervous system,cannot regenerate once it is injured,leading to permanent vision loss.To date,there is no clinical treatment that can regenerate the optic nerve and restore vision.Our previous study found that the mobile zinc(Zn^(2+))level increased rapidly after optic nerve injury in the retina,specifically in the vesicles of the inner plexiform layer.Furthermore,chelating Zn^(2+)significantly promoted axonal regeneration with a long-term effect.In this study,we conditionally knocked out zinc transporter 3(ZnT3)in amacrine cells or retinal ganglion cells to construct two transgenic mouse lines(VGAT^(Cre)ZnT3^(fl/fl)and VGLUT2^(Cre)ZnT3^(fl/fl),respectively).We obtained direct evidence that the rapidly increased mobile Zn^(2+)in response to injury was from amacrine cells.We also found that selective deletion of ZnT3 in amacrine cells promoted retinal ganglion cell survival and axonal regeneration after optic nerve crush injury,improved retinal ganglion cell function,and promoted vision recovery.Sequencing analysis of reginal ganglion cells revealed that inhibiting the release of presynaptic Zn^(2+)affected the transcription of key genes related to the survival of retinal ganglion cells in postsynaptic neurons,regulated the synaptic connection between amacrine cells and retinal ganglion cells,and affected the fate of retinal ganglion cells.These results suggest that amacrine cells release Zn^(2+)to trigger transcriptomic changes related to neuronal growth and survival in reginal ganglion cells,thereby influencing the synaptic plasticity of retinal networks.These results make the theory of zinc-dependent retinal ganglion cell death more accurate and complete and provide new insights into the complex interactions between retinal cell networks. | Zhe Liu Jingfei Xue Canying Liu Jiahui Tang Siting Wu Jicheng Lin Jiaxu Han Qi Zhang Caiqing Wu Haishun Huang Ling Zhao Yehong Zhuo Yiqing Li | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,12: | 0 |
