2The‘skin effect’of subsurface damage distribution in materials subjected to high-speed machining显示文摘This paper proposes the‘skin effect’of the machining-induced damage at high strain rates.The paper first reviews the published research work on machining-induced damage and then identifies the governing factors that dominate damage formation mechanisms.Among many influential factors,such as stress-strain field,temperature field,material responses to loading and loading rate,and crack initiation and propagation,strain rate is recognized as a dominant factor that can directly lead to the‘skin effect’of material damage in a loading process.The paper elucidates that material deformation at high strain rates(>103 s−1)leads to the embrittlement,which in turn contributes to the‘skin effect’of subsurface damage.The paper discusses the‘skin effect’based on the principles of dislocation kinetics and crack initiation and propagation.It provides guidance to predicting the material deformation and damage at a high strain-rate for applications ranging from the armor protection,quarrying,petroleum drilling,and high-speed machining of engineering materials(e.g.ceramics and SiC reinforced aluminum alloys).Bi Zhang Jingfei Yin 2019International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2019,1,1:11

4Revisiting the interacting model of new agegraphic dark energy显示文摘In this paper,a new version of the interacting model of new agegraphic dark energy(INADE)is proposed and analyzed in detail.The interaction between dark energy and dark matter is reconsidered.The interaction term Q=bH0ραdeρ1αdm is adopted,which abandons the Hubble expansion rate H and involves bothρde andρdm.Moreover,the new initial condition for the agegraphic dark energy is used,which solves the problem of accommodating baryon matter and radiation in the model.The solution of the model can be given using an iterative algorithm.A concrete example for the calculation of the model is given.Furthermore,the model is constrained by using the combined Planck data(Planck+BAO+SNIa+H0)and the combined WMAP-9 data(WMAP+BAO+SNIa+H0).Three typical cases are considered:(A)Q=bH0ρde,(B)Q=bH0√ρdeρdm,and(C)Q=bH0ρdm,which correspond toα=1,1/2,and 0,respectively.The departures of the models from theΛCDM model are measured by the BIC and AIC values.It is shown that the INADE model is better than the NADE model in the fit,and the INADE(A)model is the best in fitting data among the three cases.ZHANG JingFei ZHAO LiAng ZHANG Xin 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,2:4
5Formation of subsurface cracks in silicon wafers by grinding显示文摘Single-crystal silicon is an important material in the semiconductor and optical industries.However,being hard and brittle,a silicon wafer is vulnerable to subsurface cracks(SSCs)during grinding,which is detrimental to the performance and lifetime of a wafer product.Therefore,studying the formation of SSCs is important for optimizing SSC-removal processes and thus improving surface integrity.In this study,a statistical method is used to study the formation of SSCs induced during grinding of silicon wafers.The statistical results show that grinding-induced SSCs are not stochastic but anisotropic in their distributions.Generally,when grinding with coarse abrasive grains,SSCs form along the cleavage planes,primarily the{111}planes.However,when grinding with finer abrasive grains,SSCs tend to form along planes with a fracture-surface energy higher than that of the cleavage planes.These findings provide a guidance for the accurate detection of SSCs in ground silicon wafers.Jingfei Yin Qian Bai Yinnan Li Bi Zhang 2018Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2018,1,3:3
6Synthesis, crystal structure, photodegradation kinetics and photocatalytic activity of novel photocatalyst ZnBiYO_4显示文摘ZnBiYO4 was synthesized by a solid-state reaction method for the first time. The structural and photocatalytic properties of ZnBiYO4 were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and UV–Vis diffuse reflectance.ZnBiYO4 crystallized with a tetragonal spinel structure with space group I41/A. The lattice parameters for ZnBiYO4 were a = b = 11.176479  and c = 10.014323 . The band gap of ZnBiYO4 was estimated to be 1.58 e V. The photocatalytic activity of ZnBiYO4 was assessed by photodegradation of methyl orange under visible light irradiation. The results showed that ZnBiYO4 had higher catalytic activity compared with N-doped Ti O2 under the same experimental conditions using visible light irradiation. The photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange with ZnBiYO4 or N-doped Ti O2 as catalyst followed first-order reaction kinetics, and the first-order rate constant was 0.01575 and 0.00416 min-1for ZnBiYO4 and N-doped Ti O2, respectively. After visible light irradiation for 220 min with ZnBiYO4 as catalyst, complete removal and mineralization of methyl orange were observed. The reduction of total organic carbon, formation of inorganic products, SO2-4and NO-3, and evolution of CO2 revealed the continuous mineralization of methyl orange during the photocatalytic process. The intermediate products were identified using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry. 7Is there a close relationship between synonymous codon bias and codon-anticodon binding strength in human genes?显示文摘Synonymous codon bias has been examined in 78 human genes (19967 codons) and measured by relative synonymous codon usage (RSCU). Relative frequencies of all kinds of dinucleotides in 2,3 or 3,4 codon positions have been calculated, and codon-anticodon binding strength has been estimated by the stacking energies of codon-anticodon bases in Watson-Crick pairs. The data show common features in synonymous codon bias for all codon families in human genes: all C-ending codons, which possess the strongest codon-anticodon binding energies, are the most favored codons in almost all codon families, and those codons with medium codon-anticodon binding energies are avoided. Data analysis suggests that besides isochore and genome signature, codon-anticodon binding strength may be closely related to synonymous codon choice in human genes. 8Molecular evolution of rice S_5~n and functional comparison among different sequences显示文摘The wide compatibility gene, S 5 n , can overcome embryo sac sterility between indica and japonica subspecies of rice. Therefore, it is very important to characterize the features of the S 5 n sequence to reveal the origin and evolution of S 5 n . In this paper, 26 cultivated rice haplotypes and 22 wild rice accessions harboring S 5 n were used to sequence S 5 n . The results showed that 15 genotypes among the 48 materials were fully consistent with control cultivar 02428 (CK). The other 33 accessions had different degrees of variation in the S 5 n sequence. Variations in the coding region mainly occurred in the second exon and eight materials showed a 10-bp deletion at 1710–1719 bp, including wild (O. nivara) and cultivated rice, such as IRW501 and Yuetai B. S 5 n sequences were not biased and evolved neutrally. The 48 materials could be divided into 4 categories using a phylogenetic tree of the amino acid sequences. Most of the wild rice clustered together, and the cultivated rice clustered into another group. Eight cultivated rice and O. nivara (wild rice) clustered in another group, which were found to lack 10 consecutive bases in exon 2. Eight rice varieties with high numbers of differences in their S 5 n coding regions were crossed with testers (typically indica and japonica) to produced test cross F 1 populations. The F 1 s were examined for their ability to overcome indica-japonica hybrid sterility. 9Comparison of free breathing and respiratory triggered diffusion-weighted imaging sequences for liver imaging显示文摘BACKGROUND Diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)has become a useful tool in the detection,characterization,and evaluation of response to treatment of many cancers,including malignant liver lesions.DWI offers higher image contrast between lesions and normal liver tissue than other sequences.DWI images acquired at two or more b-values can be used to derive an apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC).DWI in the body has several technical challenges.This include ghosting artifacts,mis-registration and susceptibility artifacts.New DWI sequences have been developed to overcome some of these challenges.Our goal is to evaluate 3 new DWI sequences for liver imaging.AIM To qualitatively and quantitatively compare 3 DWI sequences for liver imaging:free-breathing(FB),simultaneous multislice(SMS),and prospective acquisition correction(PACE).METHODS Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)was performed in 20 patients in this prospective study.The MR study included 3 separate DWI sequences:FB-DWI,SMS-DWI,and PACE-DWI.The image quality,mean ADC,standard deviations(SD)of ADC,and ADC histogram were compared.Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used to compare qualitative image quality.A linear mixed model was used to compare the mean ADC and the SDs of the ADC values.All tests were 2-sided and P values of<0.05 were considered statistically significant.RESULTS There were 56 lesions(50 malignant)evaluated in this study.The mean qualitative image quality score of PACE-DWI was 4.48.This was significantly better than that of SMS-DWI(4.22)and FB-DWI(3.15)(P<0.05).Quantitatively,the mean ADC values from the 3 different sequences did not significantly differ for each liver lesion.FB-DWI had a markedly higher variation in the SD of the ADC values than did SMS-DWI and PACE-DWI.We found statistically significant differences in the SDs of the ADC values for FB-DWI vs PACE-DWI(P<0.0001)and for FB-DWI vs SMS-DWI(P=0.03).The SD of the ADC values was not statistically significant for PACE-DWI and SMS-DWI(P=0.18).The quality of the PACE-DWI ADC histograms were considered better than the SMS-DWI and FB-DWI.CONCLUSION Compared to FB-DWI,both PACE-DWI and SMS-DWI provide better image quality and decreased quantitative variability in the measurement of ADC values of liver lesions.Janio Szklaruk Jong Bum Son Wei Wei Priya Bhosale Sanaz Javadi Jingfei Ma 2019World Journal of Radiology2019,11,11:2
10A Weighted Inner Product Estimator in the Geometric Algebra of Euclidean 3-Space for Source Localization Using an EM Vector-sensor显示文摘In this paper, the source localization by utilizing the measurements of a single electromagnetic (EM) vector-sensor is investigated in the framework of the geometric algebra of Euclidean 3-space. In order to describe the orthogonality among the electric and magnetic measurements, two multivectors of the geometric algebra of Euclidean 3-space (G3) are used to model the outputs of a spatially collocated EM vector-sensor. Two estimators for the wave propagation vector estimation are then formulated by the inner product between a vector and a bivector in the G3. Since the information used by the two estimators is different, a weighted inner product estimator is then proposed to fuse the two estimators together in the sense of the minimum mean square error (MMSE). Analytical results show that the statistical performances of the weighted inner product estimator are always better than its traditional cross product counterpart. 13Stiffness of individual quadriceps muscle assessed using ultrasound shear wave elastography during passive stretching显示文摘Background: Until recently it has not been possible to isolate the mechanical behavior of individual muscles during passive stretching. Muscle shear modulus(an index of muscle stiffness) measured using ultrasound shear wave elastography can be used to estimate changes in stiffness of an individual muscle. The aims of the present study were(1) to determine the shear modulus—knee angle relationship and the slack angle of the vastus medialis oblique(VMO), rectus femoris(RF), and vastus lateralis(VL) muscles;(2) to determine whether this differs between the muscles.Methods: Nine male rowers took part in the study. The shear modulus of VMO, RF, and VL muscles was measured while the quadriceps was passively stretched at 3°/s. The relationship between the muscle shear modulus and knee angle was plotted as shear modulus—knee angle curve through which the slack angle of each muscle was determined.Results: The shear modulus of RF was higher than that of VMO and VL when the muscles were stretched over 54°(all p < 0.01). No significant difference was found between the VMO and VL(all p > 0.05). The slack angle was similar among the muscles: 41.3°± 10.6°, 44.3°± 9.1°, and 44.3°± 5.6° of knee flexion for VMO, RF, and VL, respectively(p = 0.626).Conclusion: This is the first study to experimentally determine the muscle mechanical behavior of individual heads of the quadriceps during passive stretching. Different pattern of passive tension was observed between mono-and bi-articular muscles. 14Enzyme-instructed and mitochondria-targeting peptide self-assembly to efficiently induce immunogenic cell death显示文摘Immunogenic cell death(ICD) plays a major role in cancer immunotherapy by stimulating specific T cell responses and restoring the antitumor immune system.However,effective type Ⅱ ICD inducers without biotoxicity are still very limited.Herein,a tentative drug-or photo sensitizer-free strategy was developed by employing enzymatic self-assembly of the peptide F-pY-T to induce mitochondrial oxidative stress in cancer cells.Upon dephosphorylation catalyzed by alkaline phosphatase overexpressed on cancer cells,the peptide F-pY-T self-assembled to form nanoparticles,which were subsequently internalized.These affected the morphology of mitochondria and induced serious reactive oxygen species production,causing the ICD characterized by the release of danger-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs).DAMPs enhanced specific immune responses by promoting the maturation of DCs and the intratumoral infiltration of tumor-specific T cells to eradicate tumor cells.The dramatic immunotherapeutic capacity could be enhanced further by combination therapy of F-pY-T and anti-PD-L1 agents without visible biotoxicity in the main organs.Thus,our results revealed an alternative strategy to induce efficient ICD by physically promoting mitochondrial oxidative stress.Debin Zheng Jingfei Liu Limin Xie Yuhan Wang Yinghao Ding Rong Peng Min Cui Ling Wang Yongjie Zhang Chunqiu Zhang Zhimou Yang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,6:1
15Potential Application of Entangled Porous Titanium Alloy Metal Rubber in Artificial Lumbar Disc Prostheses显示文摘Entangled Porous Titanium Alloy Metal Rubber(EPTA-MR)was used as a nucleus pulposus material in the design of non-fusion intervertebral disc prosthesis for the first time.A novel artificial lumbar intervertebral disc prosthesis was designed by reconstructing the lumbar model with reverse engineering technology,and the biomechanical behavior of the prosthesis was simulated under varied working conditions.The nucleus pulposus size was determined by the actual size of human prosthesis.EPTA-MR samples with different densities were prepared by medical titanium alloy wire experimental studies were conducted on static stiffness,damping energy consumption,and fatigue life.The results indicated that the static stiffness of EPTA-MR could reach approximately 1500 N mm and its loss factor remained higher than 0.2,and the variation range was relatively small,with excellent vibration damping capacity and bearing capacity.Among them,the overall performance of EPTA-MR with a density of 2.5 g em 3 was closer to that of the physiologic intervertebral disc.A macro experiment of five million fatigue vibration tests combined with microstructure observation exhibited a wear rate of only 0.9396 g-MC with no noticeable change in the internal micro-morphology.Therefore,the EPTA-MR has a broad application prospect as the nucleus pulposus material of artificial intervertebral disc prosthesis.Zhiying Ren Jingfei Huang Hongbai Bai Rui Jin Fangqi Xu Jie Xu 2021Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,3:1
