1The development of collagen based composite scaffolds for bone regeneration显示文摘Bone is consisted of bone matrix,cells and bioactive factors,and bone matrix is the combination of inorganic minerals and organic polymers.Type I collagen fibril made of five triple-helical collagen chains is the main organic polymer in bone matrix.It plays an important role in the bone formation and remodeling process.Moreover,collagen is one of the most commonly used scaffold materials for bone tissue engineering due to its excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability.However,the low mechanical strength and osteoinductivity of collagen limit its wider applications in bone regeneration field.By incorporating different biomaterials,the properties such as porosity,structural stability,osteoinductivity,osteogenicity of collagen matrixes can be largely improved.This review summarizes and categorizes different kinds of biomaterials including bioceramic,carbon and polymer materials used as components to fabricate collagen based composite scaffolds for bone regeneration.Moreover,the possible directions of future research and development in this field are also proposed.Dawei Zhang Xiaowei Wu Jingdi Chen Kaili Lin 2018Bioactive Materials2018,3,1:16
2A new bone repair scaffold combined with chitosan/ hydroxyapatite and sustained releasing icariin显示文摘Icariin, a plant-derived flavonol glycoside, has been proved as an osteoinductive agent for bone tissue engineering. A new bone repair scaffold was generated by thorough mixing of icariin and chitosan/ hydroxyapatite (icariin-CS/HA) using freeze-drying technigue. Characteristics of morphology, mechanical properties, biocompatibility, drug release behavior and bone repair abilities in vivo were evaluated. The results show that drug loading process of icariin did not affect physical structure of CS/HA composite significantly but decreased mechanical properies of CS/HA composite, which happened with a high dosage; icariin-CS/HA had favorable cell compatibility and promoted osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs; the controlled release of icariin was satisfactory and the release retained after 90 d in vitro. In addition, icariin-CS/HA scaffolds had favorable osteoconduction and osteoinduction in vivo, and could fill bone defect sites and stimulate newborn bone tissues formation at early stage. 3Nonlinear terahertz devices utilizing semiconducting plasmonic metamaterials显示文摘The development of responsive metamaterials has enabled the realization of compact tunable photonic devices capable of manipulating the amplitude,polarization,wave vector and frequency of light.Integration of semiconductors into the active regions of metallic resonators is a proven approach for creating nonlinear metamaterials through optoelectronic control of the semiconductor carrier density.Metal-free subwavelength resonant semiconductor structures offer an alternative approach to create dynamic metamaterials.We present InAs plasmonic disk arrays as a viable resonant metamaterial at terahertz frequencies.Importantly,InAs plasmonic disks exhibit a strong nonlinear response arising from electric field-induced intervalley scattering,resulting in a reduced carrier mobility thereby damping the plasmonic response.We demonstrate nonlinear perfect absorbers configured as either optical limiters or saturable absorbers,including flexible nonlinear absorbers achieved by transferring the disks to polyimide films.Nonlinear plasmonic metamaterials show potential for use in ultrafast terahertz(THz)optics and for passive protection of sensitive electromagnetic devices.Huseyin R Seren Jingdi Zhang George R Keiser Scott J Maddox Xiaoguang Zhao Kebin Fan Seth R Bank Xin Zhang Richard D Averitt 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:4
4Proteomic study provides new clues for complications of hemodialysis caused by dialysis membrane显示文摘The complications of hemodialysis accompanied the hemodialysis and threaten the patients’life.Besides the loss of nutrient substance,such as amino acid and vitamin,we found new clues that the adsorbed proteins on common-used polysulfone-based dialysis membrane might be the reason according to the qualitative proteomic study by ionic liquid assisted sample preparation method.Our results indicated that the adsorbed proteins on the membrane were related with complement activation,blood coagulation,and leukocyte-related biological process.The quantitative proteome further demonstrated some significant changes of signal proteins in the post-dialysis plasma after the hemodialysis,such as beta-2-microglobulin and platelet factor-4,which would further verify these new clues.Kaiguang Yang Jianhui Liu Jingdi Sun Yuan Zhou Qun Zhao Senwu Li Lukuan Liu Lihua Zhang Jiuyang Zhao Yukui Zhang 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,18:2

16A fast on-demand preparation of injectable self-healing nanocomposite hydrogels for efficient osteoinduction显示文摘Injectable hydrogels have been considered as promising materials for bone regeneration,but their osteoinduction and mechanical performance are yet to be improved.In this study,a novel biocompatible injectable and self-healing nano hybrid hydrogel was on-demand prepared via a fast(within 30 s)and easy gelation approach by reversible Schiff base formed between-CH=O of oxidized sodium alginate(OSA)and-NH2 of glycol chitosan(GCS)mixed with calcium phosphate nanoparticles(CaP NPs).Its raw materials can be ready in large quantities by a simple synthesis process.The mechanical strength,degradation and swelling behavior of the hydrogel can be readily controlled by simply controlling the molar ratio of-CH=O and-NH2.This hydrogel exhibits pH responsiveness,good degradability and biocompatibility.The hydrogel used as the matrix for mesenchymal stem cells can significantly induce the proliferation,differentiation and osteoinduction in vitro.These results showed this novel hydrogel is an ideal candidate for applications in bone tissue regeneration and drug delivery.Panpan Pan Xiao Chen Huaran Xing Yonghui Deng Jingdi Chen Fahad AAlharthi Abdulaziz AAlghamdi Jiacan Su 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,7:0
17Model-guided 3D stitching for augmented virtual environment显示文摘Image and video stitching have made tremendous progress in the construction of wide field-of-view(FOV).However,some long-term challenges still exist,including wide baselines between cameras,large parallaxes,and low texture in overlapping areas.The augmented virtual environment(AVE)captures videos as live textures of 3D models in a virtual environment,and provides another 3D solution to overcome the aforementioned challenges.Existing AVE methods primarily follow from video projection,and cannot produce satisfactory stitching results compared with image stitching.In this paper,we propose a novel model-guided 3D stitching algorithm for AVE.The algorithm recovers an approximate 3D model for each video streaming and optimizes the warping of the models to meet the requirements of feature point matching of the 3D models from adjacent videos.Compared with previous state-of-the-art methods,experiment results illustrate that our method significantly improves the stitching quality.Zhong ZHOU Ming MENG Yi ZHOU Zhe ZHU Jingdi YOU 2023Science China(Information Sciences)2023,66,1:0
18Nonlinear terahertz metamaterial perfect absorbers using GaAs[Invited]显示文摘We investigate the nonlinear response of terahertz(THz) metamaterial perfect absorbers consisting of electric split ring resonators on GaAs integrated with a polyimide spacer and gold ground plane. These perfect absorbers on bulk semi-insulating GaAs are characterized using high-field THz time-domain spectroscopy. The resonance frequency redshifts 20 GHz and the absorbance is reduced by 30% as the incident peak field is increased from 30 to 300 kV/cm. The nonlinear response arises from THz field driven interband transitions and intervalley scattering in the GaAs. To eliminate the Fresnel losses from the GaAs substrate, we design and fabricate a flexible metamaterial saturable perfect absorber. 19Voltage-tunable dual-layer terahertz metamaterials显示文摘This paper presents the design,fabrication,and characterization of a real-time voltage-tunable terahertz metamaterial based on microelectromechanical systems and broadside-coupled split-ring resonators.In our metamaterial,the magnetic and electric interactions between the coupled resonators are modulated by a comb-drive actuator,which provides continuous lateral shifting between the coupled resonators by up to 20μm.For these strongly coupled split-ring resonators,both a symmetric mode and an anti-symmetric mode are observed.With increasing lateral shift,the electromagnetic interactions between the split-ring resonators weaken,resulting in frequency shifting of the resonant modes.Over the entire lateral shift range,the symmetric mode blueshifts by~60 GHz,and the anti-symmetric mode redshifts by~50 GHz.The amplitude of the transmission at 1.03 THz is modulated by 74%;moreover,a 180°phase shift is achieved at 1.08 THz.Our tunable metamaterial device has myriad potential applications,including terahertz spatial light modulation,phase modulation,and chemical sensing.Furthermore,the scheme that we have implemented can be scaled to operate at other frequencies,thereby enabling a wide range of distinct applications.Xiaoguang Zhao Kebin Fan Jingdi Zhang George R.Keiser Guangwu Duan Richard D.Averitt Xin Zhang 2016Microsystems & Nanoengineering2016,2,1:0
