1Ultrafast epitaxial growth of metre-sized single-crystal graphene on industrial Cu foil显示文摘A foundation of the modern technology that uses single-crystal silicon has been the growth of highquality single-crystal Si ingots with diameters up to 12 inches or larger. For many applications of graphene, large-area high-quality(ideally of single-crystal) material will be enabling. Since the first growth on copper foil a decade ago, inch-sized single-crystal graphene has been achieved. We present here the growth, in 20 min, of a graphene film of(5 ×50) cm^2 dimension with >99% ultra-highly oriented grains.This growth was achieved by:(1) synthesis of metre-sized single-crystal Cu(1 1 1) foil as substrate;(2)epitaxial growth of graphene islands on the Cu(1 1 1) surface;(3) seamless merging of such graphene islands into a graphene film with high single crystallinity and(4) the ultrafast growth of graphene film.These achievements were realized by a temperature-gradient-driven annealing technique to produce single-crystal Cu(1 1 1) from industrial polycrystalline Cu foil and the marvellous effects of a continuous oxygen supply from an adjacent oxide. The as-synthesized graphene film, with very few misoriented grains(if any), has a mobility up to ~23,000 cm^2 V^(-1)s^(-1)at 4 K and room temperature sheet resistance of ~230 Ω/□. 2A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 3Characterization of Bacterial Communities Associating with Larval Development of Yesso Scallop(Patinopecten yessoensisis Jay, 1857) by High-Throughput Sequencing显示文摘Bacterial community presumably plays an essential role in inhibiting pathogen colonization and maintaining the health of scallop larvae, but limiting data are available for Yesso scallop(Patinopecten yessoensisis Jay, 1857) larval development stages. The aim of this study was to characterize and compare the bacterial communities associating with Yesso scallop larval development at fertilized egg S1, trochophora S2, D-shaped larvae S3, umbo larvae S4, and juvenile scallop S5 stages by Illumina high-throughput sequencing. Genomic DNA was extracted from the larvae and their associating bactera, and a gene segment covering V3-V4 region of 16 S r RNA gene was amplified and sequenced using an Illumina Miseq sequencer. Overall, 106760 qualified sequences with an average length of 449 bp were obtained. Sequences were compared with those retrieved from 16 S r RNA gene databases, and 4 phyla, 7 classes, 15 orders, 21 families, 31 genera were identified. Proteobacteria was predominant phylum, accounting for more than 99%, at all 5 larval development stages. At genus level, Pseudomonas was dominant at stages S1(80.60%), S2(87.77%) and S5(68.71%), followed by Photobacterium(17.06%) and Aeromonas(1.64%) at stage S1, Serratia(6.94%), Stenotrophomonas(3.08%) and Acinetobacter(1.2%) at stage S2, Shewanella(25.95%) and Pseudoalteromonas(4.57%) at stage S5. Moreover, genus Pseudoalteromonas became dominant at stages S3(44.85%) and S4(56.02%), followed by Photobacterium(29.82%), Pseudomonas(11.86%), Aliivibrio(8.60%) and Shewanella(3.39%) at stage S3, Pseudomonas(18.16%), Aliivibrio(14.29%), Shewanella(4.11%), Psychromonas(4.04%) and Psychrobacter(1.81%) at stage S4. 4Genome sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of allotetraploid Salix matsudana Koidz显示文摘Polyploidy is a common phenomenon among willow species.In this study,genome sequencing was conducted for Salix matsudana Koidz(also named Chinese willow),an important greening and arbor tree species,and the genome of this species was compared with those of four other tree species in Salicaceae.The total genome sequence of S.matsudana was 655.72 Mb in size,with repeated sequences accounting for 45.97%of the total length.In total,531.43 Mb of the genome sequence could be mapped onto 38 chromosomes using the published genetic map as a reference.The genome of S.matsudana could be divided into two groups,the A and B genomes,through homology analysis with the genome of Populus trichocarpa,and the A and B genomes contained 23,985 and 25,107 genes,respectively.4DTv combined transposon analysis predicted that allotetraploidy in S.matsudana appeared~4 million years ago.The results from this study will help reveal the evolutionary history of S.matsudana and lay a genetic basis for its breeding.Jian Zhang Huwei Yuan Yujuan Li Yanhong Chen Guoyuan Liu Meixia Ye Chunmei Yu Bolin Lian Fei Zhong Yuna Jiang Jichen Xu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3

6Response of microbial biomass and bacterial community composition to fertilization in a salt marsh in China显示文摘The effects of nitrogen(N) addition on microbial biomass, bacterial abundance, and community composition in sediment colonized by Suaeda heteroptera were examined by chloroform fumigation extraction method, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE) in a salt marsh located in Shuangtai Estuary, China. The sediment samples were collected from plots treated with different amounts of a single N fertilizer(urea supplied at 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8 g/kg(nitrogen content in sediment) and different forms of N fertilizers(urea,(NH_4)_2SO_4, and NH_4NO_3, each supplied at 0.2 g/kg(calculated by nitrogen).The fertilizers were applied 1–4 times during the plant-growing season in May, July, August, and September of 2013. Untreated plots were included as a control. The results showed that both the amount and form of N positively influenced microbial biomass carbon, microbial biomass nitrogen, and bacterial abundance. 8INPAINTING ALGORITHM FOR KINECT DEPTH MAP BASED ON FOREGROUND SEGMENTATION显示文摘The depth information of the scene indicates the distance between the object and the camera,and depth extraction is a key technology in 3D video system.The emergence of Kinect makes the high resolution depth map capturing possible.However,the depth map captured by Kinect can not be directly used due to the existing holes and noises,which needs to be repaired.We propose a texture combined inpainting algorithm in this paper.Firstly,the foreground is segmented combined with the color characteristics of the texture image to repair the foreground of the depth map.Secondly,region growing is used to determine the match region of the hole in the depth map,and to accurately position the match region according to the texture information.Then the match region is weighted to fill the hole.Finally,a Gaussian filter is used to remove the noise in the depth map.Experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively repair the holes existing in the original depth map and get an accurate and smooth depth map,which can be used to render a virtual image with good quality.Zhao Bing An Ping Liu Chao Yan Jichen Li Chunhua Zhang Zhaoyang 2014Journal of Electronics(China)2014,31,1:1
9Genomic analysis,trajectory tracking,and field surveys reveal sources and long-distance dispersal routes of wheat stripe rust pathogen in China显示文摘Identifying sources of phytopathogen inoculum and determining their contributions to disease outbreaks are essential for predicting disease development and establishing control strategies.Puccinia striiformis f.sp.tritici(Pst),the causal agent of wheat stripe rust,is an airborne fungal pathogen with rapid virulence variation that threatens wheat production through its long-distance migration.Because of wide variation in geographic features,climatic conditions,and wheat production systems,Pst sources and related dispersal routes in China are largely unclear.In the present study,we performed genomic analyses of 154 Pst isolates from all major wheat-growing regions in China to determine Pst population structure and diversity.Through trajectory tracking,historical migration studies,genetic introgression analyses,and field surveys,we investigated Pst sources and their contributions to wheat stripe rust epidemics.We identified Longnan,the Himalayan region,and the Guizhou Plateau,which contain the highest population genetic diversities,as the Pst sources in China.Pst from Longnan disseminates mainly to eastern Liupan Mountain,the Sichuan Basin,and eastern Qinghai;that from the Himalayan region spreads mainly to the Sichuan Basin and eastern Qinghai;and that from the Guizhou Plateau migrates mainly to the Sichuan Basin and the Central Plain.These findings improve our current understanding of wheat stripe rust epidemics in China and emphasize the need for managing stripe rust on a national scale.Yuxiang Li Jichen Dai Taixue Zhang Baotong Wang Siyue Zhang Conghao Wang Jiguang Zhang Qiang Yao Mingju Li Chengyun Li Yuelin Peng Shiqin Cao Gangming Zhan Fei Tao Haifeng Gao Weili Huang Xiaojun Feng Yingwen Bai Zhuoma Qucuo Hongsheng Shang Chong Huang Wancai Liu Jiasui Zhan Xiangming Xu Xianming Chen Zhensheng Kang Xiaoping Hu 2023Plant Communications2023,4,4:1
10Aldosterone may induce visfatin expression via the GR-ERK1/2 signal pathway in 3T3-L1 adipocytes显示文摘The main function of aldosterone is to regulate blood pressure and electrolytic balance;however,recent studies have also focused on the effect of aldosterone on glucose metabolism especially in adipose tissue.Aldosterone was found to inhibit insulin-induced glucose uptake in 3T3-L1 adipocytes [1] and aldosterone deficiency was found to prevent high-fat-feeding-induced hyperglycemia and adipocyte dysfunction in mice [2].Visfatin,an adipokine discovered by the team of Fukuhara,is mainly released by adipose tissue [3].Treatment of 3T3-L1 adipocytes and L6 myocytes with visfatin increased basal glucose uptake,and glucose release was suppressed in H4IIEC3 hepatocytes after visfatin treatment [3].It has also been suggested that visfatin may act as a proinflammatory cytokine [4] and produce chronic inflammation in adipocytes [5].Eyileten et al.[6] reported that treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor,which can reduce plasma aldosterone concentration,decreased circulating visfatin level in diabetic nephropathy patients.These findings suggest a possible interaction between the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system(RAAS)and visfatin.Considering the important roles of aldosterone and visfatin and the association between RAAS and visfatin,we hypothesize that there may be a direct regulatory interaction between aldosterone and visfatin.To test this hypothesis,3T3-L1 adipocytes were used as the cell model and the expression of visfatin was measured by qRT-PCR and western blot analysis.Junhua Ma Xuemei Zhao Jichen Zhang Fei Sun Jiancan Lu Hongling Zhu Mingjun Gu Jingnan Wang Xiangqi Li 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,3:1

13Multi-stage anisotropic etching of two-dimensional heterostructures显示文摘Regarding the reverse process of materials growth,etching has been widely concerned to indirectly probe the growth kinetics,offering an avenue in governing the growth of two-dimensional(2D)materials.In this work,interface-driven anisotropic etching mode is demonstrated for the first time to be generally applied to 2D heterostructures.It is shown that the typical in-plane graphene and hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)heterostructures follow a multi-stage etching behavior initiated first along the interfacial region between the two materials and then along edges of neighboring h-BN flakes and finally along central edges of hBN.By accurately tuning etching conditions in the chemical vapor deposition process,series of etched 2D heterostructure patterns are controllably produced.Furthermore,scaled formation of graphene and h-BN heterostructures arrays has been realized with full assist of as-proposed etching mechanism,offering a direct top-down method to make 2D orientated heterostructures with order and complexity.Detection of interface-driven multi-staged anisotropic etching mode will shed light on understanding growth mechanism and further expanding wide applications of 2D heterostructures.Lin Li Jichen Dong Dechao Geng Menghan Li Wei Fu Feng Ding Wenping Hu Hui Ying Yang 2022Nano Research2022,15,6:0

16Update on enteroviral protease 2A:Structure,function,and host factor interaction显示文摘Enteroviruses(EVs)are human pathogens commonly observed in children aged 0–5 years and adults.EV infections usually cause the common cold and hand-foot-and-mouth disease;however,more severe infections can result in multiorgan complications,such as polio,aseptic meningitis,and myocarditis.The molecular mechanisms by which enteroviruses cause these diseases are still poorly understood,but accumulating evidence points to two enterovirus proteases,2Apro and 3Cpro,as the key players in pathogenesis.The 2Apro performs post-translational proteolytic processing of viral polyproteins and cleaves several host factors to evade antiviral immune responses and promote viral replication.It was also discovered that coxsackievirus-induced cardiomyopathy was caused by 2Apro-mediated cleavage of dystrophin in cardiomyocytes,indicating that cellular protein proteolysis may play a key role in enterovirus-associated diseases.Therefore,studies of 2Apro could reveal additional substrates that may be associated with specific diseases.Here,we discuss the genetic and structural properties of 2Apro and review how the protease antagonizes innate immune responses to promote viral replication,as well as novel substrates and mechanisms for 2Apro.We also summarize the current approaches for identifying the substrates of 2Apro to discover novel mechanisms relating to certain diseases.Ying Liu Jichen Li Yong Zhang 2023Biosafety and Health2023,5,6:0
17Genetic characterizations and molecular epidemiology of human echovirus 30 isolated from Ningxia,China显示文摘In October 2017,a small outbreak of echovirus 30(E30)associated with aseptic meningitis in nine cases occurred at a primary school in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.That year,we observed a significant increase in E30 levels in an acute flaccid paralysis(AFP)case surveillance system.To investigate their phylogenetic relationships,we determined the whole genomic sequences of 12 strains isolated from aseptic meningitis cases,AFP cases,and healthy children.We found that the E30 strains circulating in Ningxia belong to two lineages(H and J).The strains isolated in 2010,2012,and 2016 belonged to the H lineage.In 2017,a new lineage,J,emerged as the dominant lineage.Phylogenetic trees were constructed based on the whole genome andP1,P2,andP3 regions;clustering with other types of enterovirus species B was found,suggesting that recombination events had occurred.The recombination sites were mainly in regions2B,2C,and3D.This study confirmed that the E30 strains in Ningxia in 2010,2012,and 2016 had different recombination patterns and were recombined with different enteroviruses.The 2017 epidemic E30 originated from another new lineage with a complex recombination pattern and formed an independent transmission chain in Ningxia.Fang Yuan Xinfeng Wei Xueping Ma Jiangtao Ma Xuemin Ma Xiaoqiang Sun Min Cao Juan Zhou Wei Zhang Hui Chen Rui Wang Jichen Li Qiang Sun 2023Biosafety and Health2023,5,6:0
18Correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and atherothrombotic stroke显示文摘Previous studies have demonstrated that Helicobacter pylori infection is associated with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, but the correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and ischemic stroke remains unclear. The present study assessed the effects of Helicobacter pylori infection on atherothrombotic stroke. This study included 115 individuals with atherothrombotic stroke, all of whom were patients receiving treatment at the Department of Neurology, Aerospace Central Hos-pital (Aerospace Clinical Medical College Affiliated to Peking University) in China, from March 2006 to July 2009. In addition, 131 controls without the history of cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease or atherothrombosis were also enrolled in the study. Results show that the Helicobacter pylori-IgG positive rate was greater in the atherothrombotic stroke patients than in the controls, but the difference was not statistically significant (67.8% vs. 61.8%, OR = 1.301, 95%CI: 0.769–2.203, P = 0.327). After correction for potential risk factors for Helicobacter pylori infection and known risk factors for ischemic stroke, no significant difference was detected between them (OR = 1.278, 95%CI: 0.667–2.449, P = 0.459). These results indicate that there is no specific correlation between Helicobacter pylori infection and atherothrombotic stroke. 19Preparation and immunoprotective effects of a virus-like particle candidate vaccine of the dominant epidemic D3 genotype coxsackievirus A6 in China显示文摘Coxsackievirus A6 of the D3a genotype(CVA6 D3a)is a primary pathogen causingmainland of China's hand,foot,and mouth disease(HFMD).Viral‐like particle(VLP)vaccines represent a potential candidate vaccine to prevent HFMD.This study collected Anti‐CVA6 D3a VLPs serum from BALB/c female mice immunized using CVA6 D3a VLPs.The neutralizing antibody levels were compared against the representative 14‐JX2018(D3a)and N4‐YN2015(D3b)strains between the antisera of different immune pathways.The immunoprotective effect of anti‐CVA6 D3a VLPs against these strains was monitored using pathological sections and immuno-histochemical results of lung and skeletal muscle tissues in seven‐day‐old Institute of Cancer Research(ICR)mice.Immunological protection against different branches of viruses was evaluated in 7‐day‐old(serum passive immune protection)and 14‐day‐old(VLPs active immune protection)neonatal ICR mice models.Serum‐neutralizing antibody levels were positively correlated with the number of immunizations and higher against 14‐JX2018 than against N4‐YN2015.Furthermore,these levels were significantly higher with abdominal injection than intramuscular injection.The immunized serum of 7‐day‐old ICR mice inoculated three times was 100%protected against CVA6 D3a 14‐JX2018(lethal titer:106.25 TCID 50)and CVA6 D3b N4‐YN2015(lethal titer:105.25TCID 50)fatal attacks,respectively.For ICR mice that have completed two active immunizations for 14 days,both CVA6 D3a 14‐JX2015(challenge titer:108.25 TCID 50)and CVA6 D3b N4‐YN2015(challenge titer:107.25 TCID 50)were used for the challenge,and the mice were able to survive.Overall,the CVA6 D3a VLPs prepared in this study are a potential vaccine candidate for CVA6,as it has the optimal protective effect against both CVA6 D3a and D3b evolutionary branches viruses.Xiaoliang Li Xizhu Xu Jichen Li Huanhuan Lu Congcong Wang Rui Wang Jinbo Xiao Ying Liu Yang Song Jingdong Song Qiang Sun Yong Zhang 2024Biosafety and Health2024,6,1:0
20Pathogenesis of enterovirus infection in central nervous system显示文摘Enteroviruses (EVs) are classified into 15 species according to their sequence diversity. They include four human EV (A, B, C, and D) and three rhinoviruses (A, B, and C), and cause diseases in millions of people worldwide. Generally, individuals with enteroviral infections have mild clinical symptoms, including respiratory illness, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and fever. More importantly, some members of the human EV family are neurotropic pathogens that may cause a wide range of clinical diseases, such as aseptic meningitis and encephalitis. Previously, the EV that caused the most severe neurotropic symptoms was poliovirus (PV), a member of the EV C group. Poliovirus has been eliminated in most countries through a global vaccination campaign. Non-PV EVs infect the central nervous system (CNS) and are the major EVs causing neurological diseases. These human non-PV EVs include EV A (e.g., EV-A71, CVA6, and CVA16), B (e.g., CVA9 and CVB3, CVB5, echovirus 11 [E11], E30, and E7), C (e.g., CVA24), and D (e.g., EV-D68).
