| 1 | Slippery Photothermal Trap for Outstanding Deicing Surfaces显示文摘Ice accumulation is a safety and operational threat in power lines,wind turbines,and transportations.Surfaces having both passive anti-icing and active deicing functionalities are very rare.Here,we report a self-cleaning slippery photothermal trap,which is icephobic passively and deice the surfaces actively by converting sun light to heat at the ice-substrate interface.The photothermal trap consists of three layers:a candle soot layer act as solar radiation absorber,a magnetic iron oxide Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles layer act as heat spreader for lateral dispersal of sun light,and Room Temperature Vulcanized(RTV)insulation to reduce the transverse heat loss.Upon illumination under microsolar 300,the temperature of the surface increased by 40℃ within 200 s.The heat confinement at the magnetic Fe_(3)O_(4) na-noparticles layer leads to rapid increase of the surface temperature,ice start to melt and silicone lubricant facilitates the ice removal.The slippery photothermal trap removed the frozen droplet(10 fiL)within 40 s upon the illumination of sun light and the frozen droplet was completely converted into water after 7 min illumination of solar light at-20℃.The developed slippery photothermal trap also melted the fully frost covered layer within 100 s at-20℃ under sunlamp.The average defrosted length(25 mm)was also observed by irradiation of laser light for 45 s.The self-cleaning slippery photothermal coating showed outstanding deicing performance at subzero temperature for long term due to the infusion of silicone oil into the nanostructures and same chemical composition with binder. | Muhammad Imran Jamil Qiongyan Wang Amjad Ali Munir Hussain Tariq Aziz Xiaoli Zhan Qinghua Zhang | 2021 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2021,18,3: | 3 |

| 7 | Application of ferrous sulfate alleviates negative impact of cadmium in rice(Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘Soil contamination with toxic heavy metals[such as cadmium(Cd)]is becoming a serious global problem due to rapid development of social economy.Iron(Fe),being an important element,has been found effective in enhancing plant tolerance against biotic and abiotic stresses.The present study investigated the extent to which different levels of Ferrous sulphate(FeSO_(4))modulated the Cd tolerance of rice(Oryza sativa L.),when maintained in artificially Cd spiked regimes.A pot experiment was conducted under controlled conditions for 146 days,by using natural soil,mixed with different levels of CdCl_(2)[0(no Cd),0.5 and 1 mg/kg]together with the exogenous application of FeSO_(4) at[0(no Fe),1.5 and 3 mg/kg]levels to monitor different growth,gaseous exchange characteristics,oxidative stress,antioxidative responses,minerals accumulation,organic acid exudation patterns of O.sativa.Our results depicted that addition of Cd to the soil significantly(P<0.05)decreased plant growth and biomass,gaseous exchange parameters,mineral uptake by the plants,sugars(soluble,reducing,and non-reducing sugar)and altered the ultrastructure of chloroplasts,plastoglobuli,mitochondria,and many other cellular organelles in Cd-stressed O.sativa compared to those plants which were grown without the addition of Cd in the soil.However,Cd toxicity boosted the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS)by increasing the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),which is the indication of oxidative stress in O.sativa and was also manifested by hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))contents and electrolyte leakage to the membrane bounded organelles.Although,activities of various antioxidative enzymes like superoxidase dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT)and ascorbate peroxidase(APX)and non-enzymatic antioxidants like phenolics,flavonoid,ascorbic acid,anthocyanin and proline contents increased up to a Cd level of 0.5 mg/kg in the soil but were significantly diminished at the highest Cd level of 1 mg/kg in the soil compared to those plants which were grown without the addition of Cd in the soil.The negative impacts of Cd injury were reduced by the application of FeSO_(4) which increased plant growth and biomass,improved photosynthetic apparatus,antioxidant enzymes,minerals uptake together with diminished exudation of organic acids as well as oxidative stress indicators in roots and shoots of O.sativa by decreasing Cd retention in different plant parts.These results shed light on the effectiveness of FeSO_(4) in improving the growth and upregulation of antioxidant enzyme activities of O.sativa in response to Cd stress.However,further studies at field levels are required to explore the mechanisms of FeSO_(4)-mediated reduction of the toxicity of not only Cd,but possibly also other heavy metals in plants. | JAVARIA AFZAL XIUKANG WANG MUHAMMAD HAMZAH SALEEM XUECHENG SUN SHAHID HUSSAIN IMRAN KHAN MUHAMMAD SHOAIB RANA SHAKEEL AHMED SAMRAH AFZAL AWAN SAJID FIAZ OMAR AZIZ KASHIF ALI KUBAR SHAFAQAT ALI CHENGXIAO HU | 2021 | BIOCELL2021,45,6: | 0 |

| 9 | Inhibitive efficacy of Nymphoides indica rhizome extract onα-glucosidase, and cross-link formation of advanced glycation end products显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the inhibitive efficacy of Nymphoides Indica(L.) Kuntze rhizome extract onα-glucosidase and on cross-link formation of advanced glycation end products(AGEs).METHODS: The plant extracts were prepared by cold maceration and fractionated in solvents of diverse polarity. The in vitro α-glucosidase inhibition assay, fluorescence spectrometry and SDS-PAGE analysis was performed for antiglycation assays.RESULTS: During α-glucosidase inhibition assay significant inhibition by chloroform(0.43 mg/mL)and methanol fractions(0.66 mg/mL) was noticed.During the AGEs inhibition assay, both oxidative(BSA-MGO) and non-oxidative(BSA-glucose)modes were employed. The inhibition of AGEs by total extract was considered moderate(IC_(50)0.10 mg/mL) as a result of non-oxidative mode, whereas in case of oxidative mode(BASA-MGO) no activity was recorded. Among fractions the methanolic fraction presented significant results both in oxidative(IC_(50)0.01 mg/mL) and non-oxidative modes(IC_(50) 0.3 mg/mL). Likewise the ethyl acetate fraction was more active in non-oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.04 mg/mL) compared to oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.32 mg/mL).During assay for inhibition of cross-link formation,the chloroform fraction significantly inhibited cross-link formation in a dose dependent mode.CONCLUSION: It was finally concluded that N. | 10 | 心包原发性滑膜肉瘤1例报道(英文)显示文摘Primary pericardial sarcomas are extremely rare. We report a case of 19 year old male who presented with cough, dyspnoea, and orthopnea. Investigations and exploratory thoracotomy revealed a large pericardial mass. Surgical debulking of the tumor was performed and the histopathological examination was compatible with synovial sarcoma. The tumor was unresectable due to its invasion and adhesion to mediastinal structures. Hence patient was started on palliative chemotherapy (adriamycin and ifosfamide based). | 11 | Prediction of promiscuous T cell epitopes in RNA dependent RNA polymerase of Chikungunya virus显示文摘Objective: To explore RNA dependent RNA polymerase of Chikungunya virus(CHIKV) and develop T cell based epitopes with high antigenicity and good binding affinity for the human leukocyte antigen(HLA) classes as targets for epitopes based CHIKV vaccine. Methods: In this study we downloaded 371 non-structural protein 4 protein sequences of CHIKV belonging to different regions of the world from the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases(NIAID) virus pathogen resource database. All the sequences were aligned by using CLUSTALW software and a consensus sequence was developed by using Uni Pro U Gene Software version 1.2.1. PropredⅠand Propred software were used to predict HLAⅠ and HLAⅡ binding promiscuous epitopes from the consensus sequence of non-structural protein 4 protein. The predicted epitopes were analyzed to determine their antigenicity through Vaxijen server version 2.0. All the HLAⅠ binding epitopes were scanned to determine their immunogenic potential through the Immune Epitope Database(IEDB). All the predicted epitopes of our study were fed to IEDB database to determine whether they had been tested earlier. Results: Twenty two HLA class Ⅱ epitopes and eight HLA classⅠepitopes were predicted. The promiscuous epitopes WMNMEVKII at position 486–494 and VRRLNAVLL at 331–339 were found to bind with 37 and 36 of the 51 HLA class Ⅱ alleles respectively. Epitope MANRSRYQS at position 58–66 and epitopes YQSRKVENM at positions 64–72 were predicted to bind with 12 and 9 HLAⅠI alleles with antigenicity scores of 0.754 9 and 1.013 0 respectively. Epitope YSPPINVRL was predicted to bind 18 HLAⅠ alleles and its antigenicity score was 1.425 9 and immunogenicity score was 0.173 83. This epitope is very useful in the preparation of a universal vaccine against CHIKV infection. Conclusions: Epitopes reported in this study showed promiscuity, antigenicity as well as good binding affinity for the HLA classes.
