| 2 | Diffractive multifocal intraocular lens implantation in patients with monofocal intraocular lens in the contralateral eye显示文摘AIM:To evaluate clinical outcomes of unilateral implantation of a diffractive multifocal intraocular lens(IOL)in patients with contralateral monofocal IOL.METHODS:Twenty-two patients who already had implantation of a monofocal IOL in unilateral eye underwent implantation of a diffractive multifocal IOL in contralateral eye were enrolled.After 1,6,and 12 mo,uncorrected and distant corrected distant visual acuity(UCDVA and DCDVA),uncorrected and distant corrected intermediate-visual acuity(UCIVA and DCIVA),uncorrected and distant corrected near visual acuity(UCNVA and DCNVA),and contrast sensitivity were obtained.Halo/glare symptoms,spectacle dependence,and patient satisfaction were also evaluated.RESULTS:The mean age was 67.86±7.25 y and the average interval between two IOL implantations was 645.82±878.44 d.At 1 mo,binocular UCDVA was lower than 0.20 logMAR in 76%of patients(mean 0.12±0.13 logMAR),which increased to 90%by 6 and 12 mo.The binocular UCDVA was significantly better than the monocular results(P<0.05)at 1,6,and 12 mo.Additionally,UCNVA was lower than 0.40 logMAR in 82%of patients,increasing to 90%by 6 and 12 mo.Mean UCNVA in the multifocal IOL implanted eye was statistically significantly better than that in the monofocal IOL implanted eye(P<0.05)at 1,6,and 12 mo.About 5%of patients at 1 and 6 mo,reported'severe glare or halo'.Patient satisfaction rates were 95%and 91%at 6 and 12 mo,respectively.CONCLUSION:Unilateral implantation of multifocal IOL in patients with a contralateral,monofocal IOL implantation results in high patient satisfaction rate,with low severe glare or halo rate during follow-up.It can represent a good option for patients who have previously had a monofocal IOL implantation regardless of two year interval duration between two IOL implantations. | Jae Yong Kim Yunhan Lee Hun Jae Won Hyerin Jeong Jin Hyoung Park Myoung Joon Kim Hungwon Tchah | 2020 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2020，13，5： | 2 |

| 11 | Newly developed autoimmune cholangitis without relapse of autoimmune pancreatitis after discontinuing prednisolone显示文摘A 57-year-old man presented with a 2-wk history of painless jaundice and weight loss.He had a large illdefined enhancing mass-like lesion in the uncinate process of the pancreas with stricture of the distal common bile duct.Aspiration cytology of the pancreatic mass demonstrated inflammatory cells without evidence of malignancy.Total serum immunoglobulin G level was slightly elevated,but IgG4 level was normal.After the 2-wk 40 mg prednisolone trial,the patient's symptoms and bilirubin level improved significantly.A follow-up computed tomography(CT) scan showed a dramatic resolution of the pancreatic lesion.A low dose steroid was continued.After six months he self-discontinued prednisolone for 3 wk,and was presented with jaundice again.A CT scan showed newly developed intrahepatic biliary dilatation and marked concentric wall thickening of the common hepatic duct and the proximal common bile duct without pancreatic aggravation.The patient' s IgG4 level was elevated to 2.51 g/L.Prednisolone was started again,after which his serum bilirubin level became normal and the thickening of the bile duct was resolved.This case suggests that autoimmune pancreatitis can progress to other organs that are not involved at the initial diagnosis,even with sustained pancreatic remission. | Ji Hun Kim Jae Hyuck Chang Sung Min Nam Mi Jeong Lee Il Ho Maeng Jin Young Park Yun Sun Im Tae Ho Kim Chang Whan Kim Sok Won Han | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，41： | 1 |

| 15 | Improvement in tensile strength of extruded Mg-5Bi alloy through addition of Sn and its underlying strengthening mechanisms显示文摘Through an investigation of the microstructure and mechanical properties of extruded Mg–5Bi–x Sn(BT5x, x = 0, 2, 4, and 6 wt%) alloys,this study demonstrates that the addition of Sn to an Mg–5Bi binary alloy significantly improves the tensile strength of the extruded alloy.All the extruded alloys exhibit a typical basal fiber texture and a partially dynamically recrystallized(DRXed) microstructure consisting of fine DRXed grains and coarse un DRXed grains. As the Sn content increases from 0 wt% to 6 wt%, the average size of the DRXed grains decreases from 4.2 to 2.8 μm owing to the increase in the amount of precipitates via their grain-boundary pinning effect. The extruded B5 and BT52 alloys contain numerous Mg_(3)Bi_(2) precipitates, but their size and number density are smaller and higher, respectively, in the latter alloy.Numerous Mg_(2)Sn precipitates as well as Mg_(3)Bi_(2)precipitates are present in the extruded BT54 and BT56 alloys, and the number density of the Mg_(2)Sn precipitates is higher in the latter alloy because of its higher Sn content. The addition of 2 wt% Sn to the B5 alloy significantly improves the yield strength(YS) and ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of the extruded alloy—by 76 and 57 MPa, respectively. This drastic improvement is the combined outcome of enhanced grain-boundary hardening, precipitation hardening, and solid-solution hardening effects induced by the refined DRXed grains, numerous precipitates, and Sn solute atoms, respectively. The further addition of 2 wt% or 4 wt% Sn to the BT52 alloy leads to moderate increments in the YS and UTS of the extruded alloy. | 18 | Duodenal obstruction following acute pancreatitis caused by a large duodenal diverticular bezoar显示文摘Bezoars are concretions of indigestible materials in the gastrointestinal tract. It generally develops in patients with previous gastric surgery or patients with delayed gastric emptying. Cases of periampullary duodenal divericular bezoar are rare. Clinical manifestations by a bezoar vary from no symptom to acute abdominal syndrome depending on the location of the bezoar. Biliary obstruction or acute pancreatitis caused by a bezoar has been rarely reported. Small bowel obstruction by a bezoar is also rare, but it is a complication that requires surgery. This is a case of acute pancreatitis and subsequent duodenal obstruction caused by a large duodenal bezoar migrating from a periampullary diverticulum to the duodenal lumen, which mimicked pancreatic abscess or microperforation on abdominal computerized tomography. | 19 | Delivery of nitric oxide-releasing silica nanoparticles for in vivo revascularization and functional recovery after acute peripheral nerve crush injury显示文摘Nitric oxide(NO)has been shown to promote revascularization and nerve regeneration after peripheral nerve injury.However,in vivo application of NO remains challenging due to the lack of stable carrier materials capable of storing large amounts of NO molecules and releasing them on a clinically meaningful time scale.Recently,a silica nanoparticle system capable of reversible NO storage and release at a controlled and sustained rate was introduced.In this study,NO-releasing silica nanoparticles(NO-SNs)were delivered to the peripheral nerves in rats after acute crush injury,mixed with natural hydrogel,to ensure the effective application of NO to the lesion.Microangiography using a polymer dye and immunohistochemical staining for the detection of CD34(a marker for revascularization)results showed that NO-releasing silica nanoparticles increased revascularization at the crush site of the sciatic nerve.The sciatic functional index revealed that there was a significant improvement in sciatic nerve function in NO-treated animals.Histological and anatomical analyses showed that the number of myelinated axons in the crushed sciatic nerve and wet muscle weight excised from NO-treated rats were increased.Moreover,muscle function recovery was improved in rats treated with NO-SNs.Taken together,our results suggest that NO delivered to the injured sciatic nerve triggers enhanced revascularization at the lesion in the early phase after crushing injury,thereby promoting axonal regeneration and improving functional recovery. | Jung Il Lee Ji Hun Park Yeong-Rim Kim Kihak Gwon Hae Won Hwang Gayoung Jung Joo-Yup Lee Jeong-Yun Sun Jong Woong Park Jae Ho Shin Myoung-Ryul Ok | 2022 | Neural Regeneration Research2022，17，9： | 0 |
