| 4 | Influence of plastic film mulching and planting density on yield,leaf anatomy,and root characteristics of maize on the Loess Plateau显示文摘In rainfed areas of northwestern China,maize production is constrained mainly by low temperature during early growth and water limitation during the entire growth period.Plastic film mulching is commonly used to increase maize yield in this area,because it increases topsoil temperature and moisture content as well as water use efficiency.However,the physiological and anatomical bases of maize yield improvement with plastic film mulching are not well understood.The effects of plastic film mulching and planting density on maize yield,photosynthetic characteristics,respiration,leaf anatomy,and root growth were studied in a two-year field experiment conducted on the Loess Plateau of China in 2017 and 2018.The experiment used a split-split plot design with two mulching treatments(plastic film mulching and no mulching),two planting densities(7.5×104 and10.5×104 plants ha-1),and two maize cultivars,Zhengdan 958 and Xianyu 335.Compared with no mulching,plastic film mulching increased maize yields by 31.1%–46.4%in 2017 and3.6%–34.7%in 2018.Compared with low planting density,high planting density significantly increased and slightly reduced yields of both cultivars in the dry year 2017 and the rainy year 2018,respectively.Plastic film mulching increased photosynthesis and respiration as well as leaf stomatal density and aperture.Photosynthetic rate,dark respiration,and stomatal conductance and aperture were lower at high planting than at low planting density.Maize yield was positively correlated with photosynthesis,dark respiration,and stomatal aperture.Mulching increased root dry weight and length in the 0–20 cm soil layer and root activity at maturity.Overall,the changes in root growth and leaf anatomy resulted in increased photosynthesis and dark respiration,and the increased photosynthesis contributed to the increase in grain yield and biomass production under plastic film mulching conditions.Our results increase understanding of the physiological mechanisms by which plastic film mulching increases maize yield in water-and temperature-limited areas. | Li Niu Yanyan Yan Peng Hou Wenbo Bai Rulang Zhao Yonghong Wang Shaokun Li Taisheng Du Ming Zhao Jiqing Song Wenbin Zhou | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,4: | 6 |
| 5 | Laser-induced Janus graphene/poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole)fabrics with intrinsic flame retardancy as flexible sensors and breathable electrodes for fire-fighting field显示文摘Conventional firefighting clothing and fire masks can protect firemen’s safety to a certain extent,whereas cannot perceive environmental hazards and monitor their physical status in real time.Herein,we fabricated two kinds of Janus graphene/poly(pphenylene benzobisoxazole)(PBO)fabrics by laser direct writing approach and evaluated their performance as intelligent firefighting clothes and fire masks.The results showed that the Janus graphene/PBO fabrics were virtually non-combustible and achieved the highest thermal protection time of 18.91 s ever reported in flame,which is due to the intrinsic flame-retardant nature of PBO fibers.The graphene/PBO woven fabrics-based sensor showed good repeatability and stability in human motion monitoring and NO_(2)gas detection.Furthermore,the piezoelectric fire mask was assembled with graphene/PBO nonwoven fabric as electrode layer and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)electrostatic direct writing film as piezoelectric layer.The filtration efficiency of the fire mask reaches 95%for PM_(2.5)and 100%for PM_(3.0),indicating its effective filtration capability for smoke particles in fires.The respiratory resistance of the piezoelectric fire mask(46.8 Pa)was lower than that of commercial masks(49 Pa),showing that it has good wearing comfort.Besides,the piezoelectric fire mask can be sensitive to the speed and intensity of human breathing,which is essential for indirectly reflecting the health of the human body.Consequently,this work provides a facile approach to fabricate next-generation intrinsic flame-retardant smart textiles for smart firefighting. | Yu Luo Yaping Miao Huimin Wang Kai Dong Lin Hou Yanyan Xu Weichun Chen Yao Zhang Yingying Zhang Wei Fan | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,5: | 2 |
| 6 | Optics and Spectral Investigation in Dy^(3+)-Doped Borate Glasses显示文摘Dy 3+ -doped borate glasses (LBLB) with high effective visible fluorescence emission were synthesized. The absorption spectrum and fluorescence spectrum of this glass were measured and analyzed. By using J-O theory, the oscillator strengths for some absorption transitions were calculated according to the absorption spectra. The intensity parameters Ω_t (t=2, 4, 6) of Dy 3+ were determined by using a least-squares fitting approach, and the values are 4.04×10 -20 , 1.30×10 -20 and 1.82×10 -20 cm, respectively. The root-mean-square deviation δ_ rms was calculated. Under UV light excitation, Dy 3+ -doped borate glasses (LBLB) emit intense yellowish white lights. | 14 | Novel potential XOD inhibitory peptides derived from Trachinotus ovatus:Isolation,identification and structure-function analysis显示文摘This study aimed to isolate and identify the novel potential Xanthine oxidase(XOD)inhibitory peptides derived from Trachinotus ovatus hydrolysate(TOH)(hydrolysis by neutral protease),and investigate their structure-function relationship.Initially,TOH was separated to four fractions(F1–F4)by gel filtration chromatography and F4 was chosen with higher XOD inhibitory rate(85.16%±0.566,25 mg/mL)and lower molecular weight(95.73%,<1000 Da).F4 was further characterized by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC)coupled with Nano-HPLC-MS/MS and four peptides(FPAW,LLPW,WLLP and FHLP)were identified with IC50 value of 3.81±0.18 mM,4.17±0.12 mM,43.06±0.73 mM,and over 50.00 mM respectively.It can be concluded that Trp-containing peptides especially located in C-terminal could inhibit XOD effectively.Moreover,the XOD-inhibiting actions of these peptides involvedπ-πstacking(Phe914 and Phe1009 in XOD),hydrogen bonding via molecular docking.Lineweaver-Burk equation showed the inhibition type of FPAW was a mixed inhibition.Circular dichroism(CD)spectra indicated FPAW could combine and change the secondary structure of XOD.Therefore,two peptides of FPAW and LLPW might have potential to be used to alleviate hyperuricemia in the future. | Mengfan Hou Huan Xiang Xiao Hu Shengjun Chen Yanyan Wu Jiachao Xu Xianqing Yang | 2022 | Food Bioscience2022,47,3: | 1 |
