| 1 | Spatial distribution prediction and benefits assessment of green manure in the Pinggu District,Beijing,based on the CLUE-S model显示文摘Green manure use in China has declined rapidly since the 1980 s with the extensive use of chemical fertilizers.The deterioration of field environments and the demand for green agricultural products have resulted in more attention to green manure.Human intervention and policy-oriented behaviors likely have large impacts on promoting green manure planting.However,little information is available regarding on where,at what rates,and in which ways(i.e.,intercropping green manure in orchards or rotating green manure in cropland) to develop green manure and what benefits could be gained by incorporating green manure in fields at the county scale.This paper presents the conversion of land use and its effects at small region extent(CLUE-S) model,which is specifically developed for the simulation of land use changes originally,to predict spatial distribution of green manure in cropland and orchards in 2020 in Pinggu District located in Beijing,China.Four types of land use for planting or not planting green manure were classified and the future land use dynamics(mainly croplands and orchards) were considered in the prediction.Two scenarios were used to predict the spatial distribution of green manure based on data from 2011:The promotion of green manure planting in orchards(scenario 1) and the promotion of simultaneous green manure planting in orchards and croplands(scenario 2).The predictions were generally accurate based on the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) and Kappa indices,which validated the effectiveness of the CLUE-S model in the prediction.In addition,the spatial distribution of the green manure was acquired,which indicated that green manure mainly located in the orchards of the middle and southern regions of Dahuashan,the western and southern regions of Wangxinzhuang,the middle region of Shandongzhuang,the eastern region of Pinggu and the middle region of Xiagezhuang under scenario 1.Green manure planting under scenario 2 occurred in orchards in the middle region of Wangxinzhuang,and croplands in most regions of Daxingzhuang,southern Pinggu,northern Xiagezhuang and most of Mafang.The spatially explicit results allowed for the assessment of the benefits of these changes based on different economic and ecological indicators.The economic and ecological gains of scenarios 1 and 2 were 175691 900 and143000 300 CNY,respectively,which indicated that the first scenario was more beneficial for promoting the same area of green manure.These results can facilitate policies of promoting green manure and guide the extensive use of green manure in local agricultural production in suitable ways. | ZHANG Li-ping ZHANG Shi-wen ZHOU Zhi-ming HOU Sen HUANG Yuan-fang CAO Wei-dong | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,2: | 13 |
| 2 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. | 3 | Association of colorectal cancer susceptibility variants with esophageal cancer in a Chinese population显示文摘AIM: To investigate the association between colorectal cancer(CRC) genetic susceptibility variants and esophageal cancer in a Chinese Han population.METHODS: A case-control study was conducted including 360 esophageal cancer patients and310 healthy controls. Thirty-one single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) associated with CRC risk from previous genome-wide association studies were analyzed. SNPs were genotyped using Sequenom Mass-ARRAY technology, and genotypic frequencies in controls were tested for departure from HardyWeinberg equilibrium using a Fisher's exact test. The allelic frequencies were compared between cases and controls using a χ 2 test. Associations between the SNPs and the risk of esophageal cancer were tested using various genetic models(codominant, dominant,recessive, overdominant, and additive). ORs and95%CIs were calculated by unconditional logistic regression with adjustments for age and sex.RESULTS: The minor alleles of rs1321311 and rs4444235 were associated with a 1.53-fold(95%CI:1.15-2.06; P = 0.004) and 1.28-fold(95%CI: 1.03-1.60;P = 0.028) increased risk of esophageal cancer in the allelic model analysis, respectively. In the genetic model analysis, the C/C genotype of rs3802842 was associated with a reduced risk of esophageal cancer in the codominant model(OR = 0.52, 95%CI:0.31-0.88; P = 0.033) and recessive model(OR =0.55, 95%CI: 0.34-0.87; P = 0.010). The rs4939827C/T-T/T genotype was associated with a 0.67-fold(95%CI: 0.46-0.98; P = 0.038) decreased esophageal cancer risk under the dominant model. In addition,rs6687758, rs1321311, and rs4444235 were associated with an increased risk. | 4 | Effects of land use change on the spatiotemporal variability of soil organic carbon in an urban-rural ecotone of Beijing,China显示文摘Understanding the effects of land use changes on the spatiotemporal variation of soil organic carbon(SOC)can provide guidance for low carbon and sustainable agriculture.In this paper,based on the large-scale datasets of soil surveys in 1982 and 2009 for Pinggu District—an urban-rural ecotone of Beijing,China,the effects of land use and land use changes on both temporal variation and spatial variation of SOC were analyzed.Results showed that from 1982 to 2009in Pinggu District,the following land use change mainly occurred:Grain cropland converted to orchard or vegetable land,and grassland converted to forestland.The SOC content decreased in region where the land use type changed to grain cropland(e.g.,vegetable land to grain cropland decreased by 0.7 g kg^(-1);orchard to grain cropland decreased by 0.2 g kg^(-1)).In contrast,the SOC content increased in region where the land use type changed to either orchard(excluding forestland)or forestland(e.g.,grain cropland to orchard and forestland increased by 2.7 and 2.4 g kg^(-1),respectively;grassland to orchard and forestland increased by 4.8 and 4.9 g kg^(-1),respectively).The organic carbon accumulation capacity per unit mass of the soil increased in the following order:grain cropland soikvegetable land/grassland soikorchard soikforestland soil.Therefore,to both secure supply of agricultural products and develop low carbon agriculture in a modern city,orchard has proven to be a good choice for land using. | YE Hui-chun HUANG Yuan-fang CHEN Peng-fei HUANG Wen-jiang ZHANG Shi-wen HUANGShan-yu HOU Sen | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,4: | 4 |
| 5 | Antioxidant Effects of Oats Avenanthramides on Human Serum显示文摘The antioxidant ability of capsules containing oats avenanthramides on human body was evaluated in present study.Healthy people were randomized to supplementation with oats-derived avenanthramides capsules or placebo for 1 mon.Plasma lipid peroxides and antioxidant status were measured.For 8 capsules (containing 3.12 mg avenanthramides) groups,the levels of serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reduced glutathione hormone (GSH) were significantly increased by 8.4 and 17.9%,respectively (P<0.05),and malondialdehyde (MDA) level significantly decreased by 28.1%.The total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels were lowered by 11.1,28.1,and 15.1%,respectively (P<0.05).The high density blood lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels in the same treat was increased by 13.2%.Based on our research,it can be concluded that oats extract containing avenanthramides possessed a high antioxidative activity on humans.It indicated that oat avenanthramides could be used to prevent hyperlipemic and angiocardiopathy. | LIU Sen YANG Nan HOU Zhao-hua YAO Yang Lü Li ZHOU Xian-rong REN Gui-xing | 2011 | Agricultural Sciences in China2011,10,8: | 3 |
| 6 | Influence of modified biochar supported sulfidation of nano-zero-valent-iron(S-nZVI/BC) on nitrate removal and greenhouse gas emission in constructed wetland显示文摘In this study,the biochar (BC) produced from sawdust,sludge,reed and walnut were used to support sulfidation of nano-zero-valent-iron (S-nZVI) to enhance nitrate NO_(3)^(-) removal and investigate the impact on greenhouse gas emissions.Batch experiment results showed the S-nZVI/BC(sawdust (2:1,500)),S-n ZVI/BC(sludge (2:1,900)),S-n ZVI/BC(reed (2:1,700)),and S-n ZVI/BC(walnut (2:1,700))respectively improved NO_(3)^(-) removal efficiencies by 22%,20%,3%and0.1%,and the selectivity toward N_(2)by 22%,25%,22%and 18%.S-nZVI uniformly loaded on BC provided electrons for the conversion of NO_(3)^(-) to N_(2)through Fe0.At the same time,FeSxlayer was formed on the outer layer of ZVI in the sulfidation process to prevent iron oxidation,so as to improve the electrons utilization efficiency After adding four kinds of S-nZVI/BC into constructed wetlands (CWs),the NO_(3)^(-) removal efficiencies could reach 100%and the N_(2)O emission fluxes were reduced by 24.17%-36.63%.And the average removal efficiencies of TN,COD,TP were increased by 21.9%,-16.5%,44.3%,repectively.The increasing relative abundances of denitrifying bacteria,such as Comamonas and Simplicispira,suggested that S-nZVI/BC could also improve the process of microbial denitrification.In addition,different S-nZVI/BC had different effects on denitrification functional genes (narG,nirk,nirS and nos Z genes),methanotrophs (pmoA) and methanogenesis (mcrA).This research provided an effective method to improve NO_(3)^(-) removal and reduce N_(2)O emission in CWs. | Fanlong Kong Junru Wang Weihao Hou Yuqian Cui Lihua Yu Yi Zhang Sen Wang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3: | 3 |
| 7 | Effects of Ligustrazine Combined with Cisdichlorodiamine Platinum on Anti-proliferation,Cell Cycle and Apoptosis of Human Gastric Carcinoma SGC-7901 Cell Lines显示文摘[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the combination effects of ligustrazine and cis-dichlorodiamine platinum(DDP) on anti-proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of SGC-7901 cell lines in vitro. [Method] SGC-7901 cells were treated with ligustrazine and DDP alone or combined for 48 h for morphology assay.Anti-proliferative effects with the same treatment for 24, 48 and 72 h were assayed by MTT method, respectively. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis assay of treated cells were performed in flow cytometry. Zhengjun Jin's protocol was used to assay the effect of drug combination. [Result] Ligustrazine significantly increased the proliferation inhibition rate of DDP on SGC-7901 cells in combination with DDP, comparing with the effects of ligustrazine or DDP alone, and exhibited synergistic antitumor effect. | 8 | Femoral epithelioid hemangioendothelioma detected with magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography/computed tomography:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma(EHE)is an uncommon low-grade aggressive vascular tumor.It can occur in almost all locations,but is rarely encountered in bone.CASE SUMMARY We report a 23-year-old man who presented with left hip pain with no obvious cause.X-ray revealed bone destruction in the left femoral neck with sclerosis at the edges of the lesions.Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)showed bone destruction in the medullary cavity of the left femoral head and neck.18Fdeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT)imaging showed bone destruction in the left ischium,acetabulum,and left femoral head neck,accompanied by increased radioactive uptake;the maximum standard uptake value was 4.2.Histopathologic examination revealed spindleshaped mesenchymal tissue hyperplasia with scattered epithelioid cells.The patient underwent left femoral head replacement surgery.No signs of recurrence were observed as of the 18-mo follow-up.CONCLUSION The definitive diagnosis of femoral EHE can be established aided by the MRI and PET/CT findings. | Hong-Guang Zhao Ke-Wei Zhang Sen Hou Yu-Yin Dai Song-Bai Xu | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,6: | 2 |
| 9 | Elucidating the operating behavior of PEM fuel cell with nickel foam as cathode flow field显示文摘Metal foam material,which serves as an alternative replacement of the conventional flow distributor of proton exchange membrane(PEM)fuel cell,has been attracting much attention over last few decades.In this work,three-dimensional modeling work for PEM fuel cell containing metal foam as cathode flow distributor has been carried out.The fuel cell performance and operating characteristics of metal foam flow field and conventional parallel flow channel have been compared and discussed.The cell performance has been reasonably validated based on the corresponding experimental tests conducted in this study.The superior performance of PEM fuel cell with metal foam as cathode flow field benefits a lot from the uniform gas flow.The porous metal foam material provides more pathways for the water delivery at the interface of metal foam flow field and gas diffusion layer(GDL),accelerating water removal capability of cathode.Because of the significant oxygen transfer loss in diffusion limited parallel channel,the operation of PEM fuel cell with parallel channel is found to be more sensitive to cathode humidification and oxygen supply at inlet.Due to the more uniform and effective electron transport though the porous electrode,it is possible to use thinner GDL in metal foam PEM fuel cell.It is expected that this study could give a good baseline of operating behavior of PEM fuel cell with metal foam flow distributor. | HUO Sen SHI WeiYu WANG RenFang LU BingBing WANG Yang JIAO Kui HOU ZhongJun | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,5: | 2 |
| 10 | MYOD1 inhibits avian adipocyte differentiation via miRNA-206/KLF4 axis显示文摘Background:A considerable number of muscle development-related genes were differentially expressed in the early stage of avian adipocyte differentiation.However,the functions of them in adipocyte differentiation remain largely known.In this study,the myoblast determination protein 1(MYOD1)was selected as a representative of muscle development.We investigated its expression,function,and regulation in avian adipocyte differentiation.Results:The expression of MYOD1 decreased significantly in the early stage of avian adipocyte differentiation.CRIS PR/Cas9-mediated deletion of MYOD1 induced adipocyte differentiation,whereas over-expression of MYOD1 inhibited adipogenesis.The mRNA-seq data showed that MYOD1 could perturb the lipid biosynthetic process during differentiation.Our results showed that MYOD1 directly up-regulates the miR-206 expression by binding the upstream 1200 bp region of miR-206.Then,over-expression of miR-206 can inhibit the adipogenesis.Furthermore,MYOD1 affected the expression of endogenous miR-206 and its target gene Kruppel-like factor 4(KLF4),which is an important activator of adipogenesis.Accordingly,the inhibition of miR-206 or over-expression of KLF4 could counteract the inhibitory effect of MYOD1 on adipocyte differentiation.Conclusions:Our results establish that MYOD1 inhibits adipocyte differentiation by up-regulating miR-206 to suppress the KLF4 expression.These findings identify a novel function of MYOD1 in adipocyte differentiation,suggesting a potential role in body-fat distribution regulation. | Zheng Wang Qiangsen Zhao Xiaoqin Li Zhongtao Yin Sirui Chen Sen Wu Ning Yang Zhuocheng Hou | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,4: | 2 |
| 11 | Preparation of NH_4ZrH(PO_4)_2·H_2O via solid-state reaction at low heat and its catalytic performance in the synthesis of butyl acetate显示文摘Nanocrystalline NH4ZrH(PO4)2·H2O was obtained by grinding ZrOCl2·8H2O and (NH4)2HPO4 in the presence of surfactant PEG-400 via solid-state reaction at room temperature. The product NH4ZrH(PO4)2·H2O and its product of thermal decomposition were characterized using thermogravimetry and differential thermal analyses (TG/DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Nanocrystalline NH4ZrH(PO4)2·H2O with an average particle size of 17 nm was obtained when the product was kept at 80°C for 3 h. Its crystalline framework was stable at temperatures below 250°C. In addition, the catalytic performance of NH4ZrH(PO4)2·H2O in the synthesis of butyl acetate was investigated. | 12 | New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%. | Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen | 2023 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3: | 1 |

| 16 | A Survey of Urolithiasis in Young Children Fed Infant Formula Contaminated with Melamine in Two Townships of Gansu,China显示文摘Objective To determine the prevalence of urolithiasis in young children fed infant formula(IF) contaminated with melamine,and the association between IF consumption and urolithiasis.Design A total of 2 733 children ≤3 years of age on September 1,2008 in two townships of Gansu Province,China were studied.Cases of urolithiasis were diagnosed by ultrasonography.Milk product consumption was determined by their caregivers.Remaining IF samples were tested for melamine and cyanuric acid.Results Of 2 733 eligible children in the two townships,2 186(80%) were enrolled in our study.Overall,16.6%(362) of 2 186 children had urolithiasis.The prevalence was 24.6% in children exclusively fed Sanlu brand IF,9.7% in those fed other IF,and 8.5% in those fed exclusively on other milk products.For children exclusively breast-fed,no urolithiasis was found(P<0.05).The prevalence of urolithiasis was 11.4% in children fed 400 g of Sanlu IF,rising to 37.5% in children fed over 25 600 g.Of 48 Sanlu IF samples,91.7% contained melamine(median=1 800 ppm;range=45-4 700) and 66.7% contained cyanuric acid(median=1.2 ppm;range=0.4-6.3).Melamine was also detected in 22.2% of 36 other brand IF(median=27.5 ppm,range=4-50).Conclusions Urolithiasis was associated with melamine-contaminated IF.Although one product caused most morbidity,other milk products may have also contributed to the outbreak. | SHI Guo Qing WANG Zi Jun FENG Zi Jian GAO Yong Jun LIU Jian Di SHEN Tao LIMing YANG Jin XU Hai Bing JIANG Xiao Hong WANG Zhao Nan CAI Mei WANG Yu Min ZHU Ye Fan LIU Hui Hui WANG Rui XIONG Wei Yi WANG Zhu Tian YANG Wei Zhong HOU Pei Sen ZENG Guang WANG Yu | 2012 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2: | 1 |

| 19 | Reproductive stage associated changes in plasma fatty acid profile and proinflammatory cytokine expression in rat mammary glands显示文摘Mastitis is a common disease for mammals all around the world. Figuring out why mastitis mainly occurs around parturition may be helpful for dealing with the disease. Lipolytic activity and oxidative stress take place around parturition, which may leads to alteration in fatty acids profile and proinflammatory cytokine expression. Thus, the aim of the present study was to further our understanding about the high incidence of mastitis around parturition by comparison of plasma fatty acid profile and mammary inflammation indicators at different reproductive stages. A total of 47 female rats were included in the present study. After mating, all the pregnant and non-pregnant rats began to receive the same experimental diet. Blood samples were collected at day 1 and 14 of gestation as well as day 3 postpartum.Mammary samples were collected at day 14 of gestation and day 3 postpartum from pregnant and nonpregnant rats. The results showed that rats at d 3 postpartum had greater(P < 0.05) plasma concentrations of non-esterified fatty acids(NEFA), arachidonic acid(ARA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) as well as ARA: eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) ratio than those at d 14 of gestation. The mRNA abundances of interleukin-1 β(IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-8 and xanthine oxidoreductase(XOR) in mammary of the pregnant rats were greater(P < 0.05) than those in age-matched non-pregnant rats.Rats at d 3 postpartum had higher(P < 0.05) protein expression levels of IL-1β and TNF-α as well as meloperoxidase(MPO) activity and polymorphonuclear neutrophils(PMN) prevalence than those at d 1 of gestation. The rats at d 3 postpartum also had greater(P < 0.05) IL-1β and MPO activity than those at d 14 of gestation.
