| 2 | A huge oceanic-type UHP metamorphic belt in southwestern Tianshan, China: Peak metamorphic age and P-T path显示文摘Recent progress in the study of the UHP metamorphic belt in southwestern Tianshan,China,is summarized in this paper.This about 80-km-long and over 10-km-wide UHP belt has been recognized by the discovery of coesite,coesite pseudomorphs and other UHP minerals.It is the largest oceanic-type UHP metamorphic belt reported so far.It has formed due to northward subduction of the Tianshan Paleo-Ocean.U-Pb dating of metamorphic rims of zircons from a coesite-bearing garnet-phengite schist yields a peak UHP metamorphic ages of 320±3.7 Ma.Combined with ages of 233–226 Ma obtained from rims of zircons from retrograded eclogites,a long retrograde metamorphic evolution(>70 Ma)has been revealed.According to phase equilibria modeling,the P-T paths of both coesite-bearing eclogites and garnet-phengite schists are characterized by thermal relaxation,i.e.,the metamorphic temperature peak lags behind the pressure peak,indicating that the UHP rocks experienced slow and long heating and decompression during exhumation in the subduction channel.On the basis of the field observation that a small amount of eclogite lenses is wrapped in large volumes of metapelites,and the similar P-T paths of both rock types,we propose that the exhumation of the UHP eclogites from southwestern Tianshan,China,may have resulted from the exhumation of large volumes of low-density metapelites,which carried the denser eclogites to the Earth’s surface. | ZHANG LiFei DU JinXue Lü Zeng YANG Xin GOU LongLong XIA Bin CHEN ZhenYu WEI ChunJing SONG ShuGuang | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,35: | 19 |
| 3 | Petrological evidence for isobaric cooling of ultrahightemperature pelitic granulites from the Khondalite Belt,North China Craton显示文摘The ultrahigh-temperature(UHT) pelitic granulites from the Khondalite Belt, North China Craton(NCC), contain ilmenite in the matrix, which has been partially replaced by rutile. Based on this observation and the growth of biotite by garnet-consuming reaction, the UHT rocks are inferred to have recorded three metamorphic stages: the peak metamorphic stage(M1) and two retrograde metamorphic stages(M2 and M3). The M1 stage is represented by the assemblage of perthite+sillimanite+ ilmenite in the matrix, and quartz inclusions bearing(in the cores) garnet porphyroblasts. The M2 stage is defined by rutile-replacing ilmenite and growth of garnet mantles and rims containing acicular sillimanite inclusions, with the garnet+ perthite+ sillimanite+rutile+ ilmenite+ quartz assemblage. The M3 stage is recorded by the growth of biotite in the matrix, with the garnet+ biotite+ perthite+ sillimanite+rutile+ilmenite+quartz assemblage. | 4 | Precipitation of rutile needles in garnet from sillimanite-bearing pelitic granulite from the Khondalite Belt, North China Craton显示文摘Pelitic granulite from the Khondalite Belt,North China Craton,is composed of garnet,sillimanite,perthite,biotite and quartz.Oriented rutile needles in garnet are reported for the first time from the granulite.The rutile needles have been identified by optical microscopy and confirmed by in situ Raman spectroscopy,where they show the characteristic bands at 446–448 and 610 cm-1.Because of their very strong shape preferred orientation in3–4 easily observable directions,these rutile needles are interpreted to have formed by precipitation during exhumation and cooling following peak metamorphism.The ternary feldspar geothermometer gives a peak metamorphic temperature of*980°C at 10 kbar.The presence of oriented rutile needles in garnet is suggested to be a valuable indicator of ultrahigh-temperature(UHT)metamorphism in the Khondalite Belt and therefore likely in other UHT terrains. | Longlong Gou Chengli Zhang Lifei Zhang Quan Wang | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,32: | 4 |
| 5 | Rotational Friction Damper’s Performance for Controlling Seismic Response of High Speed Railway Bridge-Track System显示文摘CRTS-II slab ballastless track on bridge is a unique system in China high speed railway.The application of longitudinal continuous track system has obviously changed dynamic characteristics of bridge structure.The bridge system and CRTS-II track system form a complex nonlinear system.To investigate the seismic response of high speed railway(HSR)simply supported bridge-track system,nonlinear models of three-span simply supported bridge with piers of different height and CRTS-II slab ballastless track system are established.By seismic analysis,it is found that shear alveolar in CRTS-II track system is more prone to be damaged than bridge components,such as piers,girders and bearings.The result shows that the inconsistent displacement of bridge girders is the main cause of the CRTS-II track system’s damage.Then the rotational friction damper(RFD)is adopted,which utilizes the device’s rotation and friction to dissipate seismic energy.The hysteretic behavior of RFD is studied by numerical and experimental methods.Results prove that RFD can provide good hysteretic energy dissipation ability with stable performance.Furthermore,the analysis of RFD’s influence on seismic response of HSR bridge-track system shows that RFD with larger sliding force is more effective in controlling excessive inconsistent displacement where RFD is installed,though response of other bridge spans could slightly deteriorated. | Wei Guo Chen Zeng Hongye Gou Yao Hu Hengchao Xu Longlong Guo | 2019 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2019,,9: | 3 |
| 6 | Melanin precursors mediated adaption to temperature changes in fungus and animal via inhibition of lipid-mediated ferroptosis显示文摘The discovery of biological activities of natural products plays a vital part in drug development.The mechanism by which organisms respond to temperature changes via biosynthesis of natural products remained largely cryptic.A thermophilic fungus under cold stress turned black and accumulated a polyketide metabolite 1 and lipid mass.Deficiency in 1 caused melanin loss and accumulated extra lipid mass,unexpectedly leading to seriously damaged mitochondria diagnostic for ferroptosis.Further analysis revealed that lipid mass induced by cold stress intensively increased ferroptosis risk and 1 functioned as cell wall reinforcer against mass lipid accumulation and as reactive oxygen species scavenger against lipid peroxidation.We also found that melanin in mice lowered lipid level but enhanced animal resistance to cold stress.Treatment with melanin precursors significantly increased mouse cell survival rate under cold stress.Our results unveiled a metabolite-lipid-ferroptosis-cold relationship,which provided mechanistic insights into the functions of most common metabolites and into diseases related to cold stress.These findings opened a perspective for developing anti-cold and anti-ferroptosis therapeutics and agents. | Xiaoyu Yang Yonghong Chen Longlong Zhang Jiangbo He Qunfu Wu Shuhong Li Donglou Wang Jianghui Gou Zhuang Wu Keqin Zhang Shenghong Li Xuemei Niu | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,8: | 0 |
