First dark matter search results from the PandaX-Ⅰ experiment显示文摘We report on the first dark-matter(DM)search results from PandaX-I,a low threshold dual-phase xenon experiment operating at the China JinPing Underground Laboratory. In the 37-kg liquid xenon target with 17.4 live-days of exposure,no DM particle candidate event was found. This result sets a stringent limit for low-mass DM particles and disfavors the interpretation of previously-reported positive experimental results. The minimum upper limit,3.7×10-44cm2,for the spin-independent isoscalar DM-particle-nucleon scattering cross section is obtained at a DM-particle mass of 49 GeV/c2at 90%confidence level.XIAO MengJiao XIAO Xiang ZHAO Li CAO XiGuang CHEN Xun CHEN YunHua CUI XiangYi FANG DeQing FU ChangBo GIBONI Karl L. 3Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of Panda X-4 T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 × 10^(-48) cm^2 at a dark matter mass of 40 Ge V/c^2.HongGuang Zhang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui BinBin Dong DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo ZhiFan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He ShengMing He Di Huang XingTao Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju ShaoLi Li Yao Li Heng Lin HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu YuGang Ma YaJun Mao KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XiangXiang Ren Fang Shi AnDi Tan AnQing Wang Cheng Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang XuMing Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu JuMin Yuan JianFeng Yue Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou 2019Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,3:6
Insular Cortex is Critical for the Perception, Modulation, and Chronification of Pain显示文摘An increasing body of neuroimaging and electrophysiological studies of the brain suggest that the insular cortex(IC) integrates multimodal salient information ranging from sensation to cognitive-affective events to create conscious interoception. Especially with regard to pain experience, the IC has been supposed to participate in both sensory-discriminative and affective-motivational aspects of pain. In this review, we discuss the latest data proposing that subregions of the IC are involved in isolated pain networks: the posterior sensory circuit and the anterior emotional network. Due to abundant connections with other brain areas, the IC is likely to serve as an interface where cross-modal shaping of pain occurs. In chronic pain, however, this mode of emotional awareness and the modulation of pain are disrupted. We highlight some of the molecular mechanisms underlying the changes of the pain modulation system that contribute to the transition from acute to chronic pain in the IC.Changbo Lu Tao Yang Huan Zhao Ming Zhang Fancheng Meng Hao Fu Yingli Xie Hui Xu 2016Neuroscience Bulletin2016,32,2:6

A proposed direct measurement of cross section at Gamow window for key reaction 19F(p,α) 16O in Asymptotic Giant Branch stars with a planned accelerator in CJPL显示文摘In 2014, the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) approved the Jinping Underground Nuclear Astrophysics laboratory(JUNA) project, which aims at direct cross-section measurements of four key stellar nuclear reactions right down to the Gamow windows. In order to solve the observed fluorine overabundances in Asymptotic Giant Branch(AGB) stars, measuring the key ^(19)F( p,α)^(16)O reaction at effective burning energies(i.e., at Gamow window) is established as one of the scientific research sub-projects. The present paper describes this sub-project in details, including motivation, status, experimental setup, yield and background estimation, aboveground test, as well as other relevant reactions.JianJun He ShiWei Xu ShaoBo Ma Jun Hu LiYong Zhang ChangBo Fu NingTao Zhang Gang Lian Jun Su YunJu Li ShengQuan Yan YangPing Shen SuQing Hou BaoLu Jia Tao Zhang XiaoPeng Zhang Bing Guo Shigeru Kubono WeiPing Liu 2016Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2016,59,5:3
Laser-driven plasma collider for nuclear studies显示文摘A novel method of initiating nuclear fusion reactions in a full plasma environment was suggested, and a proof-of-concept experiment was carried out with the D t D ! n t3 He reaction. In this new approach, two plasma jets generated by high-intensity lasers collide headon-head. The center-of-mass energy of the nuclei increases accordingly, and therefore, reaction products can be significantly enhanced, especially in the sub-Coulomb barrier ranges. As a result of the fusion reaction, up to 7:6 105 neutrons had been observed. This new type of ‘‘plasma collider'' could provide an innovative tool to study nuclear reactions under astrophysical conditions.Changbo Fu Jie Bao Liming Chen Jianjun He Long Hou Liang Li Yanfei Li Yutong Li Guoqian Liao Yongjoo Rhee Yang Sun Shiwei Xu Dawei Yuan Xiaopeng Zhang Gang Zhao Jiarui Zhao Baojun Zhu Jianqiang Zhu Jie Zhang 2015Science Bulletin2015,60,13:2

Molecular cloning of partial 14-3-3 genes in the marine sponge Hymeniacidon perleve and its role in differentiating infectious and non-infectious bacteria显示文摘Sponges (phylum Porifera) are the phylogenetically oldest metazoa and highly efficient filter feeders. In the marine ecosystem, they are unconditionally exposed to environmental stresses.Understanding the sponge-bacteria interaction is hence of both ecological and biological significance. This study investigated the specific interaction between the sponge Hymeniacidon perleve and the non-infectious bacteria,Escherichia coli and infectious bacteria,Vibrio spp.by measuring the 14-3-3 mRNA expression of H.perleve.Three partial cDNAs of 14-3-3 proteins and partial 18S RNA in H.perleve were cloned and sequenced.Using Reverse-transcription real-time PCR,the 14-3-3 mRNA expression of H.perleve was examined when exposed to three common bacteria in aquatic water-E.coli and two Vibrio spp.for different time and dosages.H.perleve could efficiently remove E.coli from the water column without self-infection;however Vibrio at higher dosages infected H.perleve.When H.perleve was exposed to E.coli (1.1×10 7 CFU mL-1),V.anguillarum Ⅱ (1.2×10 6 CFU mL-1) and V.alginolyticus (3.6×105 CFU mL-1) for 6h,the 14-3-3 mRNA expression in the V.anguillarum Ⅱ and V.alginolyticus groups was down-regulated by 2.67-and 2.36-fold,respectively.The 14-3-3 mRNA expression in the E.coli group was not significantly different. However,no clear trend was observed on the 14-3-3 transcript levels of H.perleve in response to different doses of V.anguillarum Ⅱ for different time. The results demonstrated that infectious bacteria can be discriminated by 14-3-3 mRNA expression of sponge H.perleve.FU WanTao ZHANG JuLin ZHENG ChangBo LIU Jing AN ZhongFu LIU HongWen ZHANG Wei 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,3:1
High-energy-density plasma in femtosecond-laser-irradiated nanowire-array targets for nuclear reactions显示文摘In this work, the high-energy-density plasmas(HEDP)evolved from joule-class-femtosecond-laser-irradiated nanowire-array(NWA)targets were numerically and experimentally studied. The results of particle-in-cell simulations indicate that ions accelerated in the sheath field around the surfaces of the nanowires are eventually confined in a plasma, contributing most to the high energy densities. The protons emitted from the front surfaces of the NWA targets provide rich information about the interactions that occur. We give the electron and ion energy densities for broad target parameter ranges. The ion energy densities from NWA targets were found to be an order of magnitude higher than those from planar targets, and the volume of the HEDP was several-fold greater. At optimal target parameters,8%of the laser energy can be converted to confined protons, and this results in ion energy densities at the GJ/cm^(3) level. In the experiments, the measured energy of the emitted protons reached 4 MeV,and the changes in energy with the NWA’s parameters were found to fit the simulation results well.Experimental measurements of neutrons from 2H(d,n)3He fusion with a yield of(24±18)×10^(6)/J from deuterated polyethylene NWA targets also confirmed these results.Defeng Kong Guoqiang Zhang Yinren Shou Shirui Xu Zhusong Mei Zhengxuan Cao Zhuo Pan Pengjie Wang Guijun Qi Yao Lou Zhiguo Ma Haoyang Lan Wenzhao Wang Yunhui Li Peter Rubovic Martin Veselsky Aldo Bonasera Jiarui Zhao Yixing Geng Yanying Zhao Changbo Fu Wen Luo Yugang Ma Xueqing Yan Wenjun Ma 2022Matter and Radiation at Extremes2022,7,6:1
A user requirements-oriented privacy policy self-adaption scheme in cloud computing显示文摘In an ever-changing environment,Software as a Service(SaaS)can rarely protect users'privacy.Being able to manage and control the privacy is therefore an important goal for SaaS.Once the participant of composite service is substituted,it is unclear whether the composite service satisfy user privacy requirement or not.In this paper,we propose a privacy policies automatic update method to enhance user privacy when a service participant change in the composite service.Firstly,we model the privacy policies and service variation rules.Secondly, according to the service variation rules, the privacy policies are automatically generated through the negotiation between user and service composer.Thirdly,we prove the feasibility and applicability of our method with the experiments. When the service quantity is 50,ratio that the services variations are successfully checked by monitor is 81%.Moreover,ratio that the privacy policies are correctly updated is 93.6%.Changbo KE Fu XIAO Zhiqiu HUANG Fangxiong XIAO 2023Frontiers of Computer Science2023,17,2:0
An improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-Ⅱ experiment显示文摘In dark matter direct detection experiments, neutron is a serious source of background, which can mimic the dark matter-nucleus scattering signals. In this paper,we present an improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-II dark matter experiment by a novel approach.Instead of fully relying on the Monte Carlo simulation, the overall neutron background is determined from the neutron-induced high energy signals in the data.In addition, the probability of producing a dark-matter-like background per neutron is evaluated with a complete Monte Carlo generator, where the correlated emission of neutron(s)andγ(s)in the(α,n)reactions and spontaneous fissions is taken into consideration. With this method, the neutron backgrounds in the Run 9(26-ton-day)and Run 10(28-ton-day)data sets of PandaX-II are estimated to be(0.66±0.24)and(0.47±0.25)events,respectively.QiuHong Wang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui YingJie Fan DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu LiSheng Geng Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He Di Huang Yan Huang YanLin Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju YiHui Lai Kun Liang HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu WenBo Ma YuGang Ma YaJun Mao Yue Meng Parinya Namwongsa KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XuYang Ning XiangXiang Ren ChangSong Shang Lin Si AnDi Tan AnQing Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu Jumin Yuan Dan Zhang HongGuang Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou 2020Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,3:0
Micro-size picosecond-duration fast neutron source driven by a laser-plasma wakefield electron accelerator显示文摘A pulsed fast neutron source is critical for applications of fast neutron resonance radiography and fast neutron absorption spectroscopy. However, due to the large transversal source size(of the order of mm)and long pulse duration(of the order of ns)of traditional pulsed fast neutron sources,it is difficult to realize high-contrast neutron imaging with high spatial resolution and a fine absorption spectrum. Here,we experimentally present a micro-size ultra-short pulsed neutron source by a table-top laser-plasma wakefield electron accelerator driving a photofission reaction in a thin metal converter.A fast neutron source with source size of approximately 500μm and duration of approximately 36 ps has been driven by a tens of MeV,collimated,micro-size electron beam via a hundred TW laser facility. This micro-size ultra-short pulsed neutron source has the potential to improve the energy resolution of a fast neutron absorption spectrum dozens of times to,for example, approximately 100 eV at 1.65 MeV,which could be of benefit for high-quality fast neutron imaging and deep understanding of the theoretical model of neutron physics.Yaojun Li Jie Feng Wenzhao Wang Junhao Tan Xulei Ge Feng Liu Wenchao Yan Guoqiang Zhang Changbo Fu Liming Chen 2022High Power Laser Science and Engineering2022,10,5:0
Constraining self-interacting dark matter with the full dataset of PandaX-II显示文摘Self-interacting dark matter(SIDM)is a leading candidate proposed to solve discrepancies between predictions of the prevailing cold dark matter theory and observations of galaxies. Many SIDM models predict the existence of a light force carrier that mediates strong dark matter self-interactions.If the mediator couples to the standard model particles,it could produce characteristic signals in dark matter direct detection experiments. We report searches for signals of SIDM models with a light mediator using the full dataset of the PandaX-II experiment, basing on a total exposure of 132 tonne-days.No significant excess over background is found, and our likelihood analysis leads to a strong upper limit on the dark matter-nucleon coupling strength. We further combine the PandaX-II constraints and those from observations of the light element abundances in the early universe, and show that direct detection and cosmological probes can provide complementary constraints on dark matter models with a light mediator.Jijun Yang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen Yunhua Chen Chen Cheng Xiangyi Cui Yingjie Fan Deqing Fang Changbo Fu Mengting Fu Lisheng Geng Karl Giboni Linhui Gu Xuyuan Guo Ke Han Changda He Shengming He Di Huang Yan Huang Ran Huo Yanlin Huang Zhou Huang Xiangdong Ji Yonglin Ju Shuaijie Li Qing Lin Huaxuan Liu Jianglai Liu Xiaoying Lu Wenbo Ma Yugang Ma Yajun Mao Yue Meng Nasir Shaheed Kaixiang Ni Jinhua Ning Xuyang Ning Xiangxiang Ren Changsong Shang Guofang Shen Lin Si Andi Tan Anqing Wang Hongwei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang Siguang Wang Wei Wang Xiuli Wang Zhou Wang Mengmeng Wu Shiyong Wu Weihao Wu Jingkai Xia Mengjiao Xiao Xiang Xiao Pengwei Xie Binbin Yan Yong Yang Chunxu Yu Hai-Bo Yu Jumin Yuan Ying Yuan Xinning Zeng Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao Qibin Zheng Jifang Zhou Ning Zhou Xiaopeng Zhou 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,11:0

Laboratory study of astrophysical collisionless shock at SG-Ⅱ laser facility显示文摘Astrophysical collisionless shocks are amazing phenomena in space and astrophysical plasmas, where supersonic flows generate electromagnetic fields through instabilities and particles can be accelerated to high energy cosmic rays. Until now, understanding these micro-processes is still a challenge despite rich astrophysical observation data have been obtained. Laboratory astrophysics, a new route to study the astrophysics, allows us to investigate them at similar extreme physical conditions in laboratory. Here we will review the recent progress of the collisionless shock experiments performed at SG-Ⅱ laser facility in China. The evolution of the electrostatic shocks and Weibel-type/filamentation instabilities are observed. Inspired by the configurations of the counter-streaming plasma flows, we also carry out a novel plasma collider to generate energetic neutrons relevant to the astrophysical nuclear reactions.Dawei Yuan Huigang Wei Guiyun Liang Feilu Wang Yutong Li Zhe Zhang Baojun Zhu Jiarui Zhao Weiman Jiang Bo Han Xiaoxia Yuan Jiayong Zhong Xiaohui Yuan Changbo Fu Xiaopeng Zhang Chen Wang Guo Jia Jun Xiong Zhiheng Fang Shaoen Jiang Kai Du Yongkun Ding Neng Hua Zhanfeng Qiao Shenlei Zhou Baoqiang Zhu Jianqiang Zhu Gang Zhao Jie Zhang 2018High Power Laser Science and Engineering2018,6,3:0
New opportunities for nuclear and atomic physics on the femto-to nanometer scale with ultra-high-intensity lasers显示文摘There are a number of puzzles concerning physics on the scale of nanometers to femtometers, including the neutron lifetime, the proton charge radius, and the possible existence of the deep Dirac level. With the development of high-intensity laser technology, lasers today can induce extremely strong electromagnetic fields.Electrons in the deep shells of atoms as well as the atomic nucleus itself can be affected by these fields. This may provide a new experimental platform for studies of physical processes on the femto-to nanometer scale, where atomic physics and nuclear physics coexist. In this paper,we review possible new opportunities for studying puzzles on the femto-to nanometer scale using highintensity lasers.Changbo Fu Guoqiang Zhang Yugang Ma 2022Matter and Radiation at Extremes2022,7,2:0
