| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 2 | Tetrahymena Gene Expression Database (TGED):A resource of microarray data and co-expression analyses for Tetrahymena显示文摘Tetrahymena thermophila is a model eukaryotic organism. Functional genomic analyses in Tetrahymena present rich opportunities to address fundamental questions of cell and molecular biology. The Tetrahymena Gene Expression Database (TGED; available at http://gffzz5d146715fb2e495eh0bbuc55o9w9665xb.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn) is the first expression database of a ciliated protozoan. It covers three major physiological and developmental states: growth, starvation, and conjugation, and can be accessed through a user-friendly web interface. The gene expression profiles and candidate co-expressed genes for each gene can be retrieved using Gene ID or Gene description searches. Descriptions of standardized methods of sample preparation and the opportunity to add new Tetrahymena microarray data will be of great interest to the Tetrahymena research community. | 3 | Classification of brain arteriovenous malformations located in motor-related areas based on location and anterior choroidal artery feeding显示文摘Objective Surgical management of arteriovenous malformations(AVMs)involving motor cortex or fibre tracts(M-AVMs)is challenging.This study aimed to construct a classification system based on nidus locations and anterior choroidal artery(AChA)feeding to pre-surgically evaluate motor-related and seizure-related outcomes in patients undergoing resection of M-AVMs.Methods and materials A total of 125 patients who underwent microsurgical resection of M-AVMs were retrospectively reviewed.Four subtypes were identified based on nidus location:(I)nidus involving the premotor area and/or supplementary motor areas;(II)nidus involving the precentral gyrus;(III)nidus involving the corticospinal tract(CST)and superior to the posterior limb of the internal capsule;(IV)nidus involving the CST at or inferior to the level of posterior limb of the internal capsule.In addition,we divided type IV into type IVa and type IVb according to the AChA feeding.Surgical-related motor deficit(MD)evaluations were performed 1 week(short-term)and 6 months(long-term)after surgery.Results The type I patients exhibited the highest incidence(62.0%)of pre-surgical epilepsy among the four subtypes.Multivariate analysis showed that motor-related area subtypes(p=0.004)and diffuse nidus(p=0.014)were significantly associated with long-term MDs.Long-term MDs were significantly less frequent in type I than in the other types.Type IV patients acquired the highest proportion(four patients,25.0%)of long-term poor outcomes(mRS>2).Type IVb patients showed a significantly higher incidence of post-surgical MDs than type IVa patients(p=0.041).The MDs of type III or IV patients required more recovery time.Of the 62 patients who had pre-surgical seizures,90.3%(56/62)controlled their seizures well and reached Engel class I after surgery.Conclusions Combining the consideration of location and AChA feeding,the classification for M-AVMs is a useful approach for predicting post-surgical motor function and decision-making. | Yuming Jiao Hao Li Weilun Fu Jiancong Weng Ran Huo Yinyan Wang Shuo Wang Tao Jiang Yong Cao Ji Zong Zhao | 2021 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,3: | 4 |
| 4 | Dynamic Rollover Prediction of Heavy Vehicles Considering Critical Frequency显示文摘Rollover of commercial heavy vehicles can cause enormous economic losses and fatalities.It is easier for such vehicles to rollover if the driver’s steering frequency is close to the critical frequency of the vehicle’s roll motion;however,the critical roll frequency has rarely been investigated.In this study,the second-order transfer function between the steering input and roll angle was developed to calculate the critical frequency of the vehicle’s roll motion.The simulated spectrum and transfer function were then used to dynamically predict the peak lateral load transfer ratio.Laboratory experiments were conducted using a scaled vehicle to verify the critical roll frequency.The results suggest that the peak value of the lateral load transfer ratio during steering can be accurately determined from the driver’s input,and the critical roll frequency has a dominant effect on the dynamic rollover of heavy vehicles. | Zhansheng Ye Weidong Xie Yuming Yin Zhijun Fu | 2020 | Automotive Innovation2020,3,2: | 3 |

| 7 | Hpyerglycemic Effect of a Mixture of Sea Cucumber and Cordyceps Sinensis in StreptozotocinInduced Diabetic Rat显示文摘Sea cucumber and cordyceps sinensis are used as both food and traditional medicines in Asia. This study was carried out in order to investigate the hpyerglycemic effect of a mixture of sea cucumber(Apostichopus japonicas) and cordyceps sinensis(Cordyceps militaris)(SCC) in diabetic rat and explore the mechanism underlining such an effect. The diabetic model rat was induced with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(STZ). The diabetic model rats were randomly divided into control group(0.9% NaCl), low dose group(300 mg SCC·(kg body weight)-1) and high dose group(1200 mg SCC(kg body weight)-1). Sodium chloride and SCC were intragastrically administered once a day for 35 d. Changes in fasting serum glucose and serum insulin content, oral glucose tolerance and liver and muscle glycogen content were routinely evaluated. Pancreas tissue and β-cells of islets were observed under both optical and transmission electronic microscope, respectively. The abundance of glucose metabolism-relating genes in gastrocnemius and epididymal adipose tissue was determined with either reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR) or western blotting. Results showed that SCC significantly decreased fasting serum glucose content, improved glucose tolerance and increased serum insulin and glycogen content; repaired STZ-injured β-cells of diabetic rat, and increased the expression of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase(PI(3)K), protein kinase B(PKB) and glucose transporter 4(Glut4) encoding protein in both gastrocnemius and adipose tissue, and Glut4 encoding gene in peripheral tissue. | 11 | Effects of tannic acid on the immunity and intestinal health of broiler chickens with necrotic enteritis infection显示文摘Background In broiler chickens,necrotic enteritis(NE)infection can reduce production performance.Tannic acid has shown great potential as a treatment of NE in broilers.However,the appropriate dosage of tannic acid in NE of broilers and the improvement effect on intestinal health are not very clear.In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects of different doses of tannic acid on the production performance,immunity,and intestinal health of broilers by constructing an NE model with C.perfringens infection and determining the appropriate dosage of tannic acid with regard to NE.Results Challenged birds showed significant reduction in body weight,villus height,and the ratio of villus height to crypt depth(P<0.05)and increase in the feed consumption gain ratio,intestinal lesion score,and crypt depth(P<0.05).The infection significantly reduced the relative Bacteroidota and Ligilactobacillus abundance(P<0.05)and increased the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidota and cecal content of C.perfringens(P<0.05).Challenged birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid showed significantly increased mRNA expression of nutrient transport carriers and intestinal barrier genes and growth performance and reduced serum zonulin and endotoxin levels(P<0.05).Addi-tion of tannic acid to the diet inhibited the inflammatory response by reducing the number of coccidia oocysts in feces and the content of C.perfringens in the cecum.Specifically,tannic acid reduced the serum levels of C reactive protein,myeloperoxidase,and specific IgY and ileal mucosal secretory immunoglobulin A levels in the ileal mucosa compared with those in the NE-infected birds.NE-infected birds fed diets supplemented with tannic acid also showed significantly increased relative Anaerocolumna,Thermoanaerobacterium,and Thermosinus abundance(P<0.05);their microbial composition and functional predictions were similar to those of the NC group.Conclusions Tannic acid in the diet alleviated NE by enhancing the intestinal barrier and absorption function.The recommended dietary tannic acid additive level is 500–750 mg/kg.Our study findings would be useful in reducing related economic losses in the broiler industry. | Huiping Xu Jianyang Fu Yimeng Luo Peng Li Bochen Song Zengpeng Lv Yuming Guo | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,6: | 1 |
