1Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane for the repair of radial nerve injury显示文摘In this study,we loaded human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells onto human amniotic membrane with epithelial cells to prepare nerve conduits,i.e.,a relatively closed nerve regeneration chamber.After neurolysis,the injured radial nerve was enwrapped with the prepared nerve conduit,which was fixed to the epineurium by sutures,with the cell on the inner surface of the conduit.Simultaneously,a 1.0 mL aliquot of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell suspension was injected into the distal and proximal ends of the injured radial nerve with 1.0 cm intervals.A total of1.75×107cells were seeded on the amniotic membrane.In the control group,patients received only neurolysis.At 12 weeks after cell transplantation,more than 80%of patients exhibited obvious improvements in muscular strength,and touch and pain sensations.In contrast,these improvements were observed only in 55–65%of control patients.At 8 and 12 weeks,muscular electrophysiological function in the region dominated by the injured radial nerve was significantly better in the transplantation group than the control group.After cell transplantation,no immunological rejections were observed.These findings suggest that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane can be used for the repair of radial nerve injury.Zhi Li Hanjiao Qin Zishan Feng Wei Liu Ye Zhou Lifeng Yang Wei Zhao Youjun Li 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,36:13

3Construction and genetic analysis of mutator insertion mutant population in maize显示文摘A total of 26718 M1 plants were ob- tained by crossing the active mutator transposon donor parents (Q105, WW51, 115F, V26-2 and 919J) with the recipient parents (Hz85,W328 with Bz gene and S-Mo17Rf3Rf3). The phenotypes of M1 plants were observed in the field. M1 plants were self-pollinated to develop the mutator insertion-mutagenized M2 seeds. The transposition frequency of the mutator in the genome was calculated based on the spotted aleurone phenotype of the M2 seeds. The results showed that: (1) the mutation frequency of M1 phe- notypes in the field was 0.07 in the population of W328×Mu; (2) the mutation frequency of spotted aleurone seeds on the M2 ears was 0.122 in the population of W328×Mu; (3) five S-cytoplasm male-sterile plants were found among 22500 M1 plants of S-Mo17Rf3Rf3×Mu, with the transposition frequency about 2.2×10?4 per locus. 99 flanking se- quences of mutator transposition were amplified by the modified MuTAIL-PCR, and 59 non-redundant sequences with length around 400 bp were obtained. After bioinformatic analysis, 27 sequences of them could be annotated, using non-redundant nucleotide database of maize, rice, and Arabidopsis. 36 se- quences of them were located on the genetic map of maize by comparative genomics, and several flank- ing sequences of mutator insertion were mapped on the single marker locus. Hotspot sequences of mu- tator transposition were revealed by comparing the homologies between the 9-bp target site duplication of the mutator insertion. The putative functions of 8 flanking sequences of mutator transposition had identity with the functions of their correspondingmarker. 7Discovery of multi-drug resistant,MCR-1 and ESBL-coproducing ST117 Escherichia coli from diseased chickens in northeast China显示文摘An endemic multi-drug resistant ST117 E. coli isolate coproducing MCR-1 and 3 ESBL loci was, for the first time, detected from diseased chicken, Liaoning Province, in Northeast China, from 2011 to 2012. Wholegenome sequencing revealed 5 unique plasmids, namely pHXH-1, pHXH-2, pHXH-3, pHXH-4 and pHXH-5). Among them, pHXH1 and pHXH4 encode ESBL, and pHXH-5 mediates MCR-1 colistin resistance. 9Direct control of store-operated calcium channels by ultrafast laser显示文摘Ca^(2+) channels are essential to cell birth,life,and death.They can be externally activated by optogenetic tools,but this requires robust introduction of exogenous optogenetic genes for expression of photosensitive proteins in biological systems.Here we present femtoSOC,a method for direct control of Ca^(2+)channels solely by ultrafast laser without the need for optogenetic tools or any other exogenous reagents.Specifically,by focusing and scanning wavelength-tuned low-power femtosecond laser pulses on the plasma membrane for multiphoton excitation,we directly induced Ca^(2+) influx in cultured cells.Mechanistic study reveals that photoexcited flavins covalently bind cysteine residues in Orai1 via thioether bonds,which facilitates Orai1 polymerization to form store-operated calcium channels(SOCs)independently of STIM1,a protein generally participating in SOC formation,enabling all-optical activation of Ca^(2+) influx and downstream signaling pathways.Moreover,we used femtoSOC to demonstrate direct neural activation both in brain slices in vitro and in intact brains of living mice in vivo in a spatiotemporal-specific manner,indicating potential utility of femtoSOC.Pan Cheng Xiaoying Tian Wanyi Tang Juan Cheng Jin Bao Haipeng Wang Sisi Zheng Youjun Wang Xunbin Wei Tunan Chen Hua Feng Tian Xue Keisuke Goda Hao He 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:2

12Ultra-robust stretchable electrode for e-skin:In situ assembly using a nanofiber scaffold and liquid metal to mimic water-to-net interaction显示文摘The development of stretchable electronics could enhance novel interface structures to solve the stretchability-conductivity dilemma,which remains a major challenge.Herein,we report a nano-liquid metal(LM)-based highly robust stretchable electrode(NHSE)with a self-adaptable interface that mimics water-tonet interaction.Based on the in situ assembly of electrospun elastic nanofiber scaffolds and electrosprayed LM nanoparticles,the NHSE exhibits an extremely low sheet resistance of 52 mΩsq^(-1).It is not only insensitive to a large degree of mechanical stretching(i.e.,350%electrical resistance change upon 570%elongation)but also immune to cyclic deformation(i.e.,5%electrical resistance increases after 330000 stretching cycles with 100%elongation).These key properties are far superior to those of the state-of-the-art reports.Its robustness and stability are verified under diverse circumstances,including long-term exposure to air(420 days),cyclic submersion(30000 times),and resilience against mechanical damages.The combination of conductivity,stretchability,and durability makes the NHSE a promising conductor/electrode solution for flexible/stretchable electronics for applications such as wearable on-body physiological signal detection,human-machine interaction,and heating e-skin.Jinwei Cao Fei Liang Huayang Li Xin Li Youjun Fan Chao Hu Jing Yu Jin Xu Yiming Yin Fali Li Dan Xu Hanfang Feng Huali Yang Yiwei Liu Xiaodong Chen Guang Zhu Run-Wei Li 2022InfoMat2022,4,4:1
