4Relationships between vegetation and stomata,and between vegetation and pollen surface soil in Yunnan,Southwest China显示文摘Surface pollen and stomata of 61 samples collected in a study area ranging from tropical seasonal rainforest to oak forest(Quercus spinosa) in the Yulong Snow Mountain region in Yunnan,China,are used to distinguish vegetation communities.The results show that tropical seasonal rainforest(and mountain rainforest),south subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest,and Quercus shrub are distinguished effectively from other vegetation types by analysis of surface pollen.The south subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest,Pinus kesiya forest and evergreen broadleaf forest are distinguished effectively from other types of vegetation by pollen analysis.However,P.yunnanensis forest is not distinguished from other vegetation types,and P.armandii,P.densata forest and temperate deciduous conifer mixed forest are not distinguished.The over-representation of Pinus pollen is the main reason that these vegetation communities are not distinguished from each other.Conifer stomata analysis is an effective tool for identifying and distinguishing different types of coniferous forest,and this method performs well even with a small number of sampling points.SHEN HuaDong LI ChunHai WAN HeWen TONG GuoBang LIU JinSong DAN Johnson 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,15:12

10Cyanidin-3-O-galactoside and Blueberry Extracts Supplementation Improves Spatial Memory and Regulates Hippocampal ERK Expression in Senescence-accelerated Mice显示文摘Objective To investigate whether the antioxidation and the regulation on the Extracellular Regulated Protein Kinases(ERK) signaling pathway are involved in the protective effects of blueberry on central nervous system. Methods 30 Senescence-accelerated mice prone 8(SAMP8) mice were divided into three groups and treated with normal diet, blueberry extracts(200 mg/kg·bw/day) and cyaniding-3-O-galactoside(Cy-3-GAL)(50 mg/kg·bw/day) from blueberry for 8 weeks. 10 SAMR1 mice were set as control group. The capacity of spatial memory was assessed by Passive avoidance task and Morris water maze. Histological analyses on hippocampus were completed. Malondialdehyde(MDA) levels, Superoxide Dismutase(SOD) activity and the expression of ERK were detected. Results Both Cy-3-GAL and blueberry extracts were shown effective functions to relieve cellular injury, improve hippocampal neurons survival and inhibit the pyramidal cell layer damage. Cy-3-GAL and blueberry extracts also increased SOD activity and reduced MDA content in brain tissues and plasma, and increased hippocampal phosphorylated ERK(p-ERK) expression in SAMP8 mice. Further more, the passive avoidance task test showed that both the latency time and the number of errors were improved by Cy-3-GAL treatment, and the Morris Water Maze test showed significant decreases of latency were detected by Cy-3-GAL and blueberry extracts treatment on day 4. Conclusion Blueberry extracts may reverse the declines of cognitive and behavioral function in the ageing process through several pathways, including enhancing the capacity of antioxidation, altering stress signaling. 11Seasonal and Interannual Variations of Carbon Exchange over a Rice–Wheat Rotation System on the North China Plain显示文摘Rice–wheat(R–W) rotation systems are ubiquitous in South and East Asia,and play an important role in modulating the carbon cycle and climate. Long-term,continuous flux measurements help in better understanding the seasonal and interannual variation of the carbon budget over R–W rotation systems. In this study,measurements of CO2 fluxes and meteorological variables over an R–W rotation system on the North China Plain from 2007 to 2010 were analyzed. To analyze the abiotic factors regulating Net Ecosystem Exchange(NEE),NEE was partitioned into gross primary production(GPP) and ecosystem respiration. Nighttime NEE or ecosystem respiration was controlled primarily by soil temperature,while daytime NEE was mainly determined by photosythetically active radiation(PAR). The responses of nighttime NEE to soil temperature and daytime NEE to light were closely associated with crop development and photosynthetic activity,respectively. Moreover,the interannual variation in GPP and NEE mainly depended on precipitation and PAR. Overall,NEE was negative on the annual scale and the rotation system behaved as a carbon sink of 982 g C m-2per year over the three years. The winter wheat field took up more CO2 than the rice paddy during the longer growing season,while the daily NEE for wheat and rice were-2.35and-3.96 g C m-2,respectively. 13Ethyl ferulate protects against lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury by activating AMPK/Nrf2 signaling pathway显示文摘Ethyl ferulate(EF)is abundant in Rhizoma Chuanxiong and grains(e.g.,rice and maize)and possesses antioxidative,antiapoptotic,antirheumatic,and anti-inflammatory properties.However,its effect on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced acute lung injury(ALI)is still unknown.In the present study,we found that EF significantly alleviated LPS-induced pathological damage and neutrophil infiltration and inhibited the gene expression of proinflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6)in murine lung tissues.Moreover,EF reduced the gene expression of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,and iNOS and decreased the production of NO in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells and BMDMs.Mechanistic experiments revealed that EF prominently activated the AMPK/Nrf2 pathway and promoted Nrf2 nuclear translocation.AMPK inhibition(Compound C)and Nrf2 inhibition(ML385)abolished the beneficial effect of EF on the inflammatory response.Furthermore,the protective effect of EF on LPS-induced ALI was not observed in Nrf2 knockout mice.Taken together,the results of our study suggest that EF ameliorates LPS-induced ALI in an AMPK/Nrf2-dependent manner.These findings provide a foundation for developing EF as a new anti-inflammatory agent for LPS-induced ALI/ARDS therapy.Ya-xian Wu Ying-ying Wang Zhi-qi Gao Dan Chen Gang Liu Bin-bin Wan Feng-juan Jiang Ming-xia Wei Jing Zuo Jun Zhu Yong-quan Chen Feng Qian Qing-feng Pang 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,12:4
14Anterior Cingulate Cortex Mediates Hyperalgesia and Anxiety Induced by Chronic Pancreatitis in Rats显示文摘Central sensitization is essential in maintaining chronic pain induced by chronic pancreatitis(CP),but cortical modulation of painful CP remains elusive.Here,we examined the role of the anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)in the pathogenesis of abdominal hyperalgesia in a rat model of CP induced by intraductal administration of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS).TNBS treatment resulted in long-term abdominal hyperalgesia and anxiety in rats.Morphological data indicated that painful CP induced a significant increase in FOS-expressing neurons in the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS)and ACC,and some FOS-expressing neurons in the NTS projected to the ACC.In addition,a larger portion of ascending fibers from the NTS innervated pyramidal neurons,the neural subpopulation primarily expressing FOS under the condition of painful CP,rather than GABAergic neurons within the ACC.CP rats showed increased expression of vesicular glutamate transporter 1,and increased membrane trafficking and phosphorylation of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)subunit NR2B and theα-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid receptor(AMPAR)subunit GluR1 within the ACC.Microinjection of NMDAR and AMPAR antagonists into the ACC to block excitatory synaptic transmission significantly attenuated abdominal hyperalgesia in CP rats,which was similar to the analgesic effect of endomorphins injected into the ACC.Specifically inhibiting the excitability of ACC pyramidal cells via chemogenetics reduced both hyperalgesia and comorbid anxiety,whereas activating these neurons via optogenetics failed to aggravate hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats.Taken together,these findings provide neurocircuit,biochemical,and behavioral evidence for involvement of the ACC in hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats,as well as novel insights into the cortical modulation of painful CP,and highlights the ACC as a potential target for neuromodulatory interventions in the treatment of painful CP.Dan Ren Jia-Ni Li Xin-Tong Qiu Fa-Ping Wan Zhen-Yu Wu Bo-Yuan Fan Ming-Ming Zhang Tao Chen Hui Li Yang Bai Yun-Qing Li 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,4:4
15Achieving long-cycling sodium-ion full cells in ether-based electrolyte with vinylene carbonate additive显示文摘Application of sodium-ion batteries is suppressed due to the lack of appropriate electrolytes matching cathode and anode simultaneously.Ether-based electrolytes,preference of anode materials,cannot match with high-potential cathodes failing to apply in full cells.Herein,vinylene carbonate(VC)as an additive into NaCF_(3) SO_(3)-Diglyme(DGM)could make sodium-ion full cells applicable without preactivation of cathode and anode.The assembled FeS@C||Na3 V2(PO_(4))_(3)@C full cell with this electrolyte exhibits long term cycling stability and high capacity retention.The deduced reason is additive VC,whose HOMO level value is close to that of DGM,not only change the solvent sheath structure of Na^(+),but also is synergistically oxidized with DGM to form integrity and consecutive cathode electrolyte interphase on Na3 V2(PO_(4))_(3)@C cathode,which could effectively improve the oxidative stability of electrolyte and prevent the electrolyte decomposition.This work displays a new way to optimize the sodium-ion full cell seasily with bright practical application potential.Juan Shi Lina Ding Yanhua Wan Liwei Mi Linjie Chen Dan Yang Yuxiong Hu Weihua Chen 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6:4
16Serum semaphorin 4C as a diagnostic biomarker in breast cancer:A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:To date,there is no approved blood-based biomarker for breast cancer detection.Herein,we aimed to assess semaphorin 4C(SEMA4C),a pivotal protein involved in breast cancer progression,as a serum diagnostic biomarker.Methods:We included 6,213 consecutive inpatients from Tongji Hospital,Qilu Hospital,and Hubei Cancer Hospital.Training cohort and two validation cohorts were introduced for diagnostic exploration and validation.A pan-cancer cohort was used to independently explore the diagnostic potential of SEMA4C among solid tumors.Breast cancer patients who underwent mass excision prior to modified radical mastectomy were also analyzed.We hypothesized that increased pretreatment serum SEMA4C levels,measured using optimized in-house enzymelinked immunosorbent assay kits,could detect breast cancer.The endpoints were diagnostic performance,including area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity.Post-surgery pathological diagnosis was the reference standard and breast cancer staging followed the TNM classification.There was no restriction on disease stage for eligibilities.Results:We included 2667 inpatients with breast lesions,2378 patients with other solid tumors,and 1168 healthy participants.Specifically,118 patients with breast cancer were diagnosed with stage 0(5.71%),620 with stage I(30.00%),966 with stage II(46.73%),217 with stage III(10.50%),and 8 with stage IV(0.39%).Patients with breast cancer had significantly higher serum SEMA4C levels than benign breast tumor patients and normal controls(P<0.001).Elevated serum SEMA4C levels had AUC of 0.920(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.900–0.941)and 0.932(95%CI:0.911–0.953)for breast cancer detection in the two validation cohorts.The AUCs for detecting early-stage breast cancer(n=366)and ductal carcinoma in situ(n=85)were 0.931(95%CI:0.916–0.946)and 0.879(95%CI:0.832–0.925),respectively.Serum SEMA4C levels significantly decreased after surgery,and the reduction was more striking after modified radical mastectomy,compared with mass excision(P<0.001).The positive rate of enhanced serum SEMA4C levels was 84.77%for breast cancer and below 20.75%for the other 14 solid tumors.Conclusions:Serum SEMA4C demonstrated promising potential as a candidate biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis.However,validation in prospective settings and by other study groups is warranted.Ya Wang Long Qiao Jie Yang Xiong Li Yaqi Duan Jiahao Liu Shaoqi Chen Huayi Li Dan Liu Tian Fang Jingjing Ma Xiaoting Li Fei Ye Junxiang Wan Juncheng Wei Qin Xu Ensong Guo Ping Jin Mingfu Wu Lin Zhang Yun Xia Yaqun Wu Jun Shao Yaojun Feng Qing Zhang Zongyuan Yang Gang Chen Qinghua Zhang Xingrui Li Shixuan Wang Junbo Hu Xiaoyun Wang Mona P.Tan Kazuaki Takabe Beihua Kong Qifeng Yang Ding Ma Qinglei Gao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,12:3
17A novel pathway regulates social hierarchy via lncRNA AtLAS and postsynaptic synapsin Ⅱb显示文摘Dominance hierarchy is a fundamental phenomenon in grouped animals and human beings,however,the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain elusive.Here,we report that an antisense long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)of synapsinⅡ;named as AtLAS,plays a crucial role in the regulation of social hierarchy.AtLAS is decreased in the prefrontal cortical excitatory pyramidal neurons of dominant mice;consistently,silencing or overexpression of AtLAS increases or decreases the social rank,respectively.Mechanistically,we show that AtLAS regulates alternative polyadenylation of synapsinⅡgene and increases synapsin 2b(syn2b)expression.Syn2b reduces AMPA receptor(AMPAR)-mediated excitatory synaptic transmission through a direct binding with AMPAR at the postsynaptic site via its unique C-terminal sequence.Moreover,a peptide disrupting the binding of syn2b with AMPARs enhances the synaptic strength and social ranks.These findings reveal a novel role for lncRNA AtLAS and its target syn2b in the regulation of social behaviors by controlling postsynaptic AMPAR trafficking.Mei Ma Wan Xiong Fan Hu Man-Fei Deng Xian Huang Jian-Guo Chen Heng-Ye Man Youming Lu Dan Liu Ling-Qiang Zhu 2020Cell Research2020,30,2:3
18Crustal Stress Evolution over the Past 700 Years in North China and Earthquake Occurrence显示文摘Fault interaction and earthquake occurrence have attracted much attention in seismological community during recent years. Many studies have shown that the rupture of one fault could encourage or discourage earthquake nucleation on a neighboring fault, depending on the relative geometry of the two faults and the earthquake rupture mechanisms. In this paper, we simulate the evolutionary process of cumulative Coulomb failure stress change (CCFSC) in North China since 1303, manifested by secular tectonic stress loading and occurrence of large earthquakes. Secular tectonic stress loading is averaged from crustal strain rates derived from GPS. Fault rupture parameters of historical earthquakes are estimated as follows: the earthquake rupture length and the amount of slip are derived based on their statistical relationships with the earthquake intensity distribution and magnitude, calibrated using parameters of instrumentally measured contemporary earthquakes. The earthquake rake angle is derived based on geologically determined fault orientational parameters and seismically estimated orientation of regional tectonic stresses. Assuming a layered visco-elastic medium, we calculate stress evolution resulting from secular tectonic loading and coseismic and postseismic deformation. On the eve of each large earthquake, the accumulated stress field is projected to the fault surface of that earthquake and the CCFSC is evaluated to assess the triggering effect of CCFSC. Forty-nine earthquakes with M≥6.5 have occurred in North China since 1303. Statistics shows that 39 out of the 48 subsequent events were triggered by positive CCFSC, yielding a triggering rate of 81.3%. If we use the accumulative stress field to evaluate the CCFSC for the M≥5.0 earthquakes that occurred in North China since 1303, we find that 75.5% of those events were triggered. The triggering rate for the M≥5.0 earthquakes after the 1976 Ninghe earthquake is up to 82.1%. The triggering rates can be higher if corrections are made for some aftershocks which were wrongly identified as occurring in stress shadow zones because of errors in parameter estimates of historical earthquakes. Our study shows a very high correlation between positive CCFSC and earthquake occurrences. 19Efficient sequential harvesting of solar light by heterogeneous hollow shells with hierarchical pores显示文摘In nature,sequential harvesting of light widely exists in the old life entity,i.e.cyanobacteria,to maximize the light absorption and enhance the photosynthesis efficiency.Inspired by nature,we propose a brand new concept of temporally-spatially sequential harvesting of light in one single particle,which has purpose-designed heterogeneous hollow multi-shelled structures(HoMSs)with porous shells composed of nanoparticle subunits.Structurally,HoMSs consist of different band-gap materials outside-in,thus realizing the efficient harvesting of light with different wavelengths.Moreover,introducing oxygen vacancies into each nanoparticle subunit can also enhance the light absorption.With the benefit of sequential harvesting of light in HoMSs,the quantum efficiency at wavelength of 400 nm is enhanced by six times compared with the corresponding nanoparticles.Impressively,using these aforementioned materials as photocatalysts;highly efficient photocatalytic water splitting is realized,which cannot be achieved by using the nanoparticle counterparts.This new concept of temporally-spatially sequential harvesting of solar light paves the way for solving the ever-growing energy demand.Yanze Wei Jiawei Wan Nailiang Yang Yu Yang Yanwen Ma Songcan Wang Jiangyan Wang Ranbo Yu Lin Gu Lianhui Wang Lianzhou Wang Wei Huang Dan Wang 2020National Science Review2020,7,11:2
20Orbital ordering and fluctuations in a kagome superconductor CsV_(3)Sb_(5)显示文摘Recently,competing electronic instabilities,including superconductivity and density-wave-like order,have been discovered in vanadium-based kagome metals AV_(3)Sb_(5)(A=K,Rb,Cs)with a nontrivial band topology.This finding stimulates considerable interest to study the interplay of these competing electronic orders and possible exotic excitations in the superconducting state.Here,we performed51V and133Cs nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)measurements on a CsV_(3)Sb_(5)single crystal to clarify the nature of density-wave-like transition in these kagome superconductors.A first-order structural transition is unambiguously revealed below T_(s)~94 K by observing the sudden splitting of Knight shift in^(51)V NMR spectrum.Moreover,combined with^(133)Cs NMR spectrum,the present result confirms a three-dimensional structural modulation.By further analyzing the anisotropy of Knight shift and 1/T_(1)T at^(51)V nuclei,we proposed that the orbital order is the primary electronic order induced by the firstorder structural transition,which is supported by further analysis on electric field gradient at^(51)V nuclei.In addition,the evidence for possible orbital fluctuations is also revealed above T_(s).The present work sheds light on a rich orbital physics in kagome superconductors AV_(3)Sb_(5).DianWu Song LiXuan Zheng FangHang Yu Jian Li LinPeng Nie Min Shan Dan Zhao ShunJiao Li BaoLei Kang ZhiMian Wu YanBing Zhou KuangLv Sun Kai Liu XiGang Luo ZhenYu Wang JianJun Ying XianGang Wan Tao Wu XianHui Chen 2022Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2022,65,4:2
