1Distribution of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in surface water and sediments from Baiyangdian Lake in North China显示文摘Persistent organochlorine compounds,including hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs),dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were analyzed in surface water and sediments from Baiyangdian Lake,North China.Total concentrations of HCHs,DDTs and PCBs in surface water were in the range of 3.13-10.60,4.05-20.59 and 19.46-131.62 ng/L,respectively,and total concentrations of HCHs,DDTs and PCBs in sediments were 1.75-5.70,0.91-6.48 and 5.96-29.61 ng/g dry weight,respectively.Among the groups of HCHs (sum of α-HCH,β-HCH,γ-HCH and δ-HCH) and DDTs (sum of DDT,DDD and DDE),the predominance of β-HCH,DDE and DDD in water and sediment samples was clearly observed.This observation suggested that β-HCH was resistant to biodegradation and the DDTs had been transformed to its metabolites,DDE and DDD.For PCBs,penta-,hexa-and hepta-chlorinated congeners were the most abundant compounds in the both phases.Furthermore,the partitioning of chlorinated compounds between sediment and water was investigated to understand their transport and fates in aquatic ecosystems.The results indicated that average logs of organic carbon-normalized sediment-water partition coefficients (logK'oc) for OCPs varied between 3.20 and 5.53,and for PCBs,logK'oc values ranged from 3.19 to 5.57.The observed logK'oc was lower than their equilibrium logKoc predicted from linear model,which may be attributed to the solubility enhancement effect of colloidal matter in water phase and the disequilibrium between sediment and water.Guohua Dai Xinhui Liu Gang Liang Xu Han Liu Shi Dengmiao Cheng Wenwen Gong 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,10:44
2Efficacy and safety of a novel anti-HER2 therapeutic antibody RC48 in patients with HER2-overexpressing,locally advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer:a single-arm phase II study显示文摘Background:Current treatment options for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-overexpressing gastric cancer at third-line have shown limited clinical benefit.Further,there is no specific treatment for HER2 immunohistochemistry(IHC)2+and fluorescence in-situ hybridization-negative patients.Here,we report the efficacy and safety of a novel anti-HER2 antibody RC48 for patients with HER2-overexpressing,advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer.Methods:Patients with HER2-overexpressing(IHC 2+or 3+),locally advanced or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer who were under at least second-line therapy were eligible and received RC482.5 mg/kg alone every 2 weeks.The primary endpoint was the objective response rate(ORR)assessed by an independent review committee.Secondary endpoints included progressionfree survival(PFS),overall survival(OS),duration of response,time to progression,disease control rate,and safety.Results:Of 179 patients screened,125 were eligible and received RC48 treatment.The ORR was 24.8%(95%confidence interval[CI]:17.5%-33.3%).The median PFS and OS were 4.1 months(95%CI:3.7-4.9 months)and 7.9 months(95%CI:6.7-9.9 months),respectively.The most frequently reported adverse events were decreased white blood cell count(53.6%),asthenia(53.6%),hair loss(53.6%),decreased neutrophil count(52.0%),anemia(49.6%),and increased aspartate aminotransferase level(43.2%).Serious adverse events(SAEs)occurred in 45(36.0%)patients,and RC48-related SAEs were mainly decreased neutrophil count(3.2%).Seven patients had adverse events that led to death were not RC48-related.Conclusions:RC48 showed promising activity with manageable safety,suggesting potential application in patients with HER2-overexpressing,advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer who have previously received at least two lines of chemotherapy.Zhi Peng Tianshu Liu Jia Wei Airong Wang Yifu He Liuzhong Yang Xizhi Zhang Nanfeng Fan Suxia Luo Zhen Li Kangsheng Gu Jianwei Lu Jianming Xu Qingxia Fan Ruihua Xu Liangming Zhang Enxiao Li Yuping Sun Guohua Yu Chunmei Bai Yong Liu Jiangzheng Zeng Jieer Ying Xinjun Liang Nong Xu Chao Gao Yongqian Shu Dong Ma Guanghai Dai Shengmian Li Ting Deng Yuehong Cui Jianmin Fang Yi Ba Lin Shen 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,11:29
3Influence of environment and substrate quality on the decomposition of wetland plant root in the Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China显示文摘The litterbag method was used to study the decomposition of wetland plant root in three wetlands along a water level gradient in the Sanjiang Plain,Northeast China.These wetlands are Calamagrostis angustifolia(C.aa),Carex meyeriana(C.ma)and Carex lasiocarpa (C.la).The objective of our study is to evaluate the influence of environment and substrate quality on decomposition rates in the three wetlands.Calico material was used as a standard substrate to evaluate environmental influences.Roots native to each wetland were used to evaluate decomposition dynamics and substrate quality influences.Calico mass loss was statistically different among the three wetlands in the upper soil profile(0–10 cm)and in the lower depth range(10–20 cm).Hydrology,temperature and pH all influence calico decomposition rates in different ways at different depths of the soil profiles.The decomposition rates of native roots declined differentially with the increase of depth in the soil profiles.The mass loss of native roots showed a statistical decrease among the three wetlands in the upper soil profile(0–10 cm)and in the lower depth range(10–20 cm)as C.ma wetland>C.aa wetland>C.la wetland. 4Myocardial infarction secondary prevention study (MISPS)显示文摘Background Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), especially herbal medicine, has been widely used in China and now is also being increasingly used in other countries for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Although many studies have demonstrated that certain Chinese herbal products are effective and safe for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, most of these lack sufficient quality. Therefore, large randomized clinical trials and further scientific research to determine its safety, effectiveness are necessary.QiShen YiQi Dripping Pills (QSYQDP) is a herbal preparation clinically used in the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease. Preliminary observations have shown its safety and effectiveness. Methods/Design This randomized, controlled trial will recruit 3600 patients with a history of myocardial infarction. Patients will be randomized into two groups by a Centr-Randomized System. One group receives QSYQDP, the other group receive aspirin. This trial protocol will describe eligibility criteria, detailed information on the treatment definition, blinding, endpoints, statistical methods, sample size determination, data management, legal aspects, and the current status of the trial. Discussion This trial is one of the first randomized, controlled clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese herbal medicine in the treatment and secondary prevention of coronary artery disease. 5Tonifying Qi and activating blood circulation in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine: their effects in patients with myocardial infarction显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of tonifying Qi and activating blood circulation(SQABC), a method in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), on end-point events in patients with myocardial infarction(MI) in this retrospective cohort study.METHODS: Clinical data were obtained from the medical records of patients with acute MI(AMI),both during hospitalization and follow-up, and included general demographic information(age, gender, and contact information), TCM regimens used,and end-point events.RESULTS: A total of 1596 patients with AMI were enrolled to this study, but data of only 1210 casesare accessible till follow-up. We classified the patients based on the exposure levels of SQABC.When comparing the results between all exposure and non-exposure groups, significant differences were identified, both during hospitalization and follow-ups. During hospitalization, cardiac death(4.40% vs 21.55%, P < 0.05) and cardiac shock(3.04% vs 11.62%, P < 0.05) were significantly lower in the exposure group than the non-exposure group. Similarly, during the follow-up, cardiac death(12.04% vs 20.49%, P < 0.05), acute heart failure(7.27% vs 11.81%, P < 0.05), composite endpoint of reinfarction and stroke(9.11% vs 15.28%,P < 0.05), and rehospitalization due to angina(25.49% vs 34.38%, P < 0.05) were significantly lower in the exposure group than the non-exposure group.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that SQABC can significantly benefits the subjects in the management of high-risk AMI in them.Gao Wulin Dai Guohua Zhang Tong Bi Dongxue Liu Chunhua Shi Xiaojing Zhao Fang Zhao Chen 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,5:7
6Analysis of Frequency Characteristics and Sensitivity of Compliant Mechanisms显示文摘Based on a modified pseudo-rigid-body model,the frequency characteristics and sensitivity of the large-deformation compliant mechanism are studied.Firstly,the pseudo-rigid-body model under the static and kinetic conditions is modified to enable the modified pseudo-rigid-body model to be more suitable for the dynamic analysis of the compliant mechanism.Subsequently,based on the modified pseudo-rigid-body model,the dynamic equations of the ordinary compliant four-bar mechanism are established using the analytical mechanics.Finally,in combination with the finite element analysis software ANSYS,the frequency characteristics and sensitivity of the compliant mechanism are analyzed by taking the compliant parallel-guiding mechanism and the compliant bistable mechanism as examples.From the simulation results,the dynamic characteristics of compliant mechanism are relatively sensitive to the structure size,section parameter,and characteristic parameter of material on mechanisms.The results could provide great theoretical significance and application values for the structural optimization of compliant mechanisms,the improvement of their dynamic properties and the expansion of their application range.LIU Shanzeng DAI Jiansheng LI Aimin SUN Zhaopeng FENG Shizhe CAO Guohua 2016Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2016,29,4:5
7Provenance and tectonic setting transition as recorded in the Neoproterozoic strata, western Jiangnan Orogen:Implications for South China within Rodinia显示文摘The Neoproterozoic Tonian strata (ca.870-725 Ma) in the western Jiangnan Orogen archive the records of sedimentary provenance and tectonic setting which can be used to understand the geological evolution of the South China Continent.These strata are separated into the basement and cover sequences by a regional angular unconformity.The basement sequence can be subdivided into the lower and the upper parts by the widespread interbedded ca.840 Ma basalt with pillow structure.In the present work,234 concordant detrital zircon analyses are obtained from three Tonian sandstone samples in the Fanjingshan district,Guizhou Province.Combined with previous results,a total of 1736 analyses of detrital zircon U-Pb ages derived from 12 formations of Tonian strata in the western Jiangnan Orogen are used to decipher the integrated sedimentary and tectonic histories.The zircons from the lowermost part of the basement sequence (the Yujiagou Formation) show oval morphology and display two Paleoproterozoic age peaks at 2325 Ma and 1845 Ma which are similar with the detrital zircon age peaks from the Late Paleoproterozoic to Early Mesoproterozoic Dongchuan/Dahongshan/Hekou groups,suggesting a passive margin basin in which the sediments were mainly sourced from the southwestern Yangtze Block.However,the zircon age population of the lower part of the basement sequence (the Xiaojiahe,Huixiangping formations and their equivalents) indicates the sedimentary derivation from bidirectional sources (the ca.870 Ma arc materials in the south and the old detritus from the southwestern Yangtze Block) which is consistent with a back arc setting for the deposition of the sediments.Zircons from the upper part of the basement sequence (the Duyantang Formation and its equivalent) show euhedral and subangular morphology and display a unimodal age peak at ca.835 Ma.This sequence was possibly deposited in a convergent setting and the detritus were came from the locally distributed syn-collisional igneous rocks.The lower part of the cover sequence (the Xinzhai and Wuye formations and their equivalents) shows a distinct zircon age peak at 815-809 Ma and two subordinate peaks at 2485 Ma and 2018 Ma,suggesting that the basin had gradually transformed into a continental rift basin and received the detritus from the ca.815 Ma post-collisional magmatic rocks as well as from different Paleoproterozoic source rocks in the northern Yangtze Block.We propose a tectonic evolution model that envisages eruption of ca.840 Ma basalt in a back arc basin that existed during ca.870-835 Ma,an angular unconformity was formed during amalgamation of the Yangtze Block and the Cathaysia Block at ca.835-820 Ma and the rifting of the South China Continent was initiated at ca.800 Ma.Our study concludes that the South China Continent was formed on the periphery of the Rodinia supercontinent.Jiawei Zhang Taiping Ye Yaran Dai Jianshu Chen Hui Zhang Chuangu Dai Guohua Yuan Kaiyuan Jiang 2019Geoscience Frontiers2019,10,5:4
8Efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in patients with acute myocardial infarction suffering from diabetes mellitus显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the 'real world' effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in patients with acute myocardial infarction suffering from diabetes mellitus(AMI+DM patients).METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study.During hospitalization, the 'exposure group' was defined as patients who had a TCM injection for ≥ 7 d.During follow-up, the definition of the exposure group was application of a Chinese patent medicine or decoction of Chinese medicine for ≥ 28 d.General information(age, sex, contact details), TCM use and endpoint events of AMI+DM patients during hospitalization and follow-up were collected.The correlation between TCM and the end-point events of AMI + DM patients was analyzed using a multiple logistic regression method.RESULTS: A total of 479 AMI + DM patients were enrolled and 345 cases were followed up. During hospitalization, TCM, age, hypertension and use of an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI)or angiotensin receptor blocker(ARB) were associated with cardiac death. During follow-up, TCM was associated with cardiac death. TCM was a relevant factor for a composite endpoint of re-infarction and stroke. TCM, anti-thrombotic therapy and lipid-lowering therapy were related to acute heart failure. TCM, anti-thrombotic therapy, anti-MI therapy and ACEI/ARB use exhibited a strong correlation with re-hospitalization due to cardiovascular disease.CONCLUSION: TCM reduced the prevalence of cardiac death during hospitalization, and cardiac death, a composite endpoint of re-infarction and stroke, acute heart failure and re-hospitalization due to cardiovascular disease during follow-up.Dai Guohua Gao Wulin Bi Dongxue Liu Chunhua Liu Yuhan Wang Ning Zhao Chen 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,3:4
9Modeling diameter distribution of the broadleaved-Korean pine mixed forest on Changbai Mountains of China显示文摘The broadleaved-Korean pine mixed forest is a native vegetation in the Changbai Mountains, northeast China. The probability density functions including the normal, negative exponential, Weibull and finite mixture distribution, were used to describe the diameter distributions of the species groups and entire forest stand. There is a strong correlation between parameters and mean DBH except the shape parameters in the mixture distribution. The diameter classes of species and entire forest stand showed not negative exponential but normal and 'S' distribution. The mixture function was better than normal and Weibull to describe the model distribution. 18Measurement of aerosol effective density by single particle mass spectrometry显示文摘Single particle mass spectrometry has been widely used to determine the size and chemical compositions of atmospheric aerosols; however, it is still rarely used for the microphysical properties measurement. In this study, two methods were developed for determining aerosol effective density by a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer(SPAMS). Method I retrieved effective density through comparison between measured light scattering intensities and Mie theoretical modelled partial scattering cross section. Method II coupled a differential mobility analyzer(DMA) with SPAMS to simultaneously determine the electric mobility and vacuum aerodynamic diameter, and thus the effective density. Polystyrene latex spheres, ammonium sulfate and sodium nitrate were tested by these methods to help validate their effectiveness for determining the aerosol effective density.
