| 1 | Determination of focal depth by two waveform-based methods:A case study for the 2008 Panzhihua earthquake显示文摘With the 2008 M S 6.1 Panzhihua earthquake as a case study,we demonstrate that the focal depth of the main shock can be well constrained with two approaches:(1) using the depth phase sPL and (2) using full waveform inversion of local and teleseismic data.We also show that focal depths can be well constrained using the depth phase sPL with single broadband seismic station.Our study indicates that the main shock is located at a depth of 11 km,much shallower than those from other studies,confirming that the earthquake occurs in upper crust.Aftershocks are located in the depth range of 11-16 km,which is consistent with a ruptured near vertical fault whose width is about 10 km,as expected for an M S 6.1 earthquake. | Zhenjie Wang Jiajun Chong Sidao Ni Barbara Romanowicz | 2011 | Earthquake Science2011,24,4: | 17 |

| 3 | Near surface velocity and Q_s structure of the Quaternary sediment in Bohai basin,China显示文摘Heavily populated by Beijing and Tianjin cities,Bohai basin is a seismically active Cenozoic basin suffering from huge lost by devastating earthquakes,such as Tangshan earthquake.The attenuation(QP and QS) of the surficial Quaternary sediment has not been studied at natural seismic frequency(1-10 Hz),which is crucial to earthquake hazards study.Borehole seismic records of micro earthquake provide us a good way to study the velocity and attenuation of the surficial structure(0-500 m).We found that there are two pulses well separated with simple waveforms on borehole seismic records from the 2006 MW4.9 Wen'an earthquake sequence.Then we performed waveform modeling with generalized ray theory(GRT) to confirm that the two pulses are direct wave and surface reflected wave,and found that the average vP and vS of the top 300 m in this region are about 1.8 km/s and 0.42 km/s,leading to high vP/vS ratio of 4.3.We also modeled surface re-flected wave with propagating matrix method to constrain QS and the near surface velocity structure.Our modeling indicates that QS is at least 30,or probably up to 100,much larger than the typically assumed extremely low Q(~10),but consistent with QS modeling in Mississippi embayment.Also,the velocity gradient just beneath the free surface(0-50 m) is very large and velocity increases gradually at larger depth.Our modeling demonstrates the importance of borehole seismic records in resolving shallow velocity and attenuation structure,and hence may help in earthquake hazard simulation. | Jiajun Chong Sidao Ni | 2009 | Earthquake Science2009,22,5: | 7 |
| 4 | Is laparoscopy equal to laparotomy in detecting and treating small bowel injuries in a porcine model?显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopy compared with laparotomy for diagnosing and treating small bowel injuries (SBIs) in a porcine model. METHODS: Twenty-eight female pigs were anesthetized and laid in the left recumbent position. The SBI model was established by shooting at the right lower quadrant of the abdomen. The pigs were then randomized into either the laparotomy group or the laparoscopy group. All pigs underwent routine exploratory laparotomy or laparoscopy to evaluate the abdominal injuries, particularly the types, sites, and numbers of SBIs. Traditional open surgery or therapeutic laparoscopy was then performed. All pigs were kept alive within the observational period (postoperative 72 h). The postoperative recovery of each pig was carefully observed. RESULTS: The vital signs of all pigs were stable within 1-2 h after shooting and none of the pigs died from gunshot wounds or SBIs immediately. The SBI model was successfully established in all pigs and definitively diagnosed with single or multiple SBIs either by exploratory laparotomy or laparoscopy. Compared with exploratory laparotomy, laparoscopy took a significantly longer time for diagnosis (41.27 ± 12.04 min vs 27.64 ± 13.32 min, P = 0.02), but the time for therapeutic laparoscopy was similar to that of open surgery. The length of incision was significantly reduced in the laparoscopy group compared with the laparotomy group (5.27 ± 1.86 cm vs 15.73 ± 1.06 cm, P < 0.01). In the final post-mortem examination 72 h after surgery, both laparotomy and laparoscopy offered a definitive diagnosis with no missed injuries. Postoperative complications occurred in four cases (three following laparotomy and one following laparoscopy, P = 0.326). The average recovery period for bowel function, vital appearance, and food re-intake after laparoscopy was 10.36 ± 4.72 h, 14.91 ± 3.14 h, and 15.00 ± 7.11 h, respectively. All of these were significantly shorter than after laparotomy (21.27 ± 10.17 h, P = 0.004; 27.82 ± 9.61 h, P < 0.001; and 24.55 ± 9.72 h, respectively, P = 0.016). | 5 | SAR motion compensation based on the correction of residual attitude errors显示文摘As residual attitude errors are likely to affect the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging, this paper presents a SAR motioncompensation algorithm based on the correction of residual attitude errors. The existing methods all use the antenna stableplatform to correct the attitude errors, and then compensate the trajectory deviations in the following imaging process. Besidescompensating the trajectory deviations, the modified method of this paper also considers the influence of residual attitude er-rors on the SAR imaging, and can compensate both the trajectory deviations and the residual attitude errors. Compared withthe existing methods, the modified method in this paper can more precisely compensate the imperfect motion on the SAR im-aging, especially good for the SAR system with a small platform, near operating distance and a narrow antenna beam. Such asystem causes severe residual attitude errors and needs to consider the influence of antenna beam pointing errors on the imag-ing. | 13 | 3D S-wave velocity structure of the Ningdu basin in Jiangxi province inferred from ambient noise tomography with dense array显示文摘The Ningdu basin,located in southern Jiangxi province of southwest China,is one of the Mesozoic basin groups which has exploration prospects for geothermal energy.A study on the detailed velocity structure of the Ningdu basin can provide important information for geothermal resource exploration.In this study,we deployed a dense seismic array in the Ningdu basin to investigate the 3D velocity structure and discuss implications for geothermal exploration and geological evolution.Based on the dense seismic array including 35 short-period(5 s-100 Hz)seismometers with an average interstation distance of~5 km,Rayleigh surface wave dispersion curves were extracted from the continuous ambient noise data for surface wave tomographic inversion.Group velocity tomography was conducted and the 3D S-wave velocity structure was inverted by the neighborhood algorithm.The results revealed obvious low-velocity anomalies in the center of the basin,consistent with the low-velocity Cretaceous sedimentary rocks.The basement and basin-controlling fault can also be depicted by the S-wave velocity anomalies.The obvious seismic interface is about 2 km depth in the basin center and decreases to 700 m depth near the basin boundary,suggesting spatial thickness variations of the Cretaceous sediment.The fault features of the S-wave velocity profile coincide with the geological cognition of the western boundary basincontrolling fault,which may provide possible upwelling channels for geothermal fluid.This study suggests that seismic tomography with a dense array is an effective method and can play an important role in the detailed investigations of sedimentary basins. | Long Teng Xiangteng Wang Chunlei Fu Feng Bao Jiajun Chong Sidao Ni Zhiwei Li | 2023 | Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,1: | 0 |

With the periodic properties of the communication signals, the desired signal’s amplitude value can be effectively obtained even though there is an interference signal whose frequency spectrum overlaps with the desired signal in the environment,and the corresponding incident angle can be estimated accurately with the amplitude comparison method. The influence of interference signal on the amplitude comparison method is discussed and the proposed method’s theoretical feasibility is also analyzed. Compared with the conventional method,simulations are provided to demonstrate the anti-interference capability of the proposed method. | 20 | Amorphous Sn modified nitrogen-doped porous carbon nanosheets with rapid capacitive mechanism for highcapacity and fast-charging lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Sn-based materials are considered as a kind of potential anode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)owing to their high theoretical capacity.However,their use is limited by large volume expansion deriving from the lithiation/delithiation process.In this work,amorphous Sn modified nitrogen-doped porous carbon nanosheets(ASnNPCNs)are obtained.The synergistic effect of amorphous Sn and high edge-nitrogendoped level porous carbon nanosheets provides ASn-NPCNs with multiple advantages containing abundant defect sites,high specific surface area(214.9 m^(2)·g^(−1)),and rich hierarchical pores,which can promote the lithium-ion storage.Serving as the LIB anode,the as-prepared ASn-NPCNs-750 electrode exhibits an ultrahigh capacity of 1643 mAh·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1),ultrafast rate performance of 490 mAh·g^(−1) at 10 A·g^(−1),and superior long-term cycling performance of 988 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1) after 2000 cycles with a capacity retention of 98.9%.Furthermore,the in-depth electrochemical kinetic test confirms that the ultrahigh-capacity and fast-charging performance of the ASn-NPCNs750 electrode is ascribed to the rapid capacitive mechanism.These impressive results indicate that ASn-NPCNs-750 can be a potential anode material for high-capacity and fast-charging LIBs. | Chong Xu Guang Ma Wang Yang Sai Che Neng Chen Ni Wu Bo Jiang Ye Wang Yankun Sun Sijia Liao Jiahao Yang Xiang Li Guoyong Huang Yongfeng Li | 2023 | Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,3: | 0 |
