Oral microbiota in human systematic diseases显示文摘Oral bacteria directly affect the disease status of dental caries and periodontal diseases. The dynamic oral microbiota cooperates with the host to reflect the information and status of immunity and metabolism through two-way communication along the oral cavity and the systemic organs. The oral cavity is one of the most important interaction windows between the human body and the environment. The microenvironment at different sites in the oral cavity has different microbial compositions and is regulated by complex signaling, hosts, and external environmental factors. These processes may affect or reflect human health because certain health states seem to be related to the composition of oral bacteria, and the destruction of the microbial community is related to systemic diseases. In this review, we discussed emerging and exciting evidence of complex and important connections between the oral microbes and multiple human systemic diseases, and the possible contribution of the oral microorganisms to systemic diseases. This review aims to enhance the interest to oral microbes on the whole human body, and also improve clinician’s understanding of the role of oral microbes in systemic diseases. Microbial research in dentistry potentially enhances our knowledge of the pathogenic mechanisms of oral diseases, and at the same time, continuous advances in this frontier field may lead to a tangible impact on human health. | Xian Peng Lei Cheng Yong You Chengwei Tang Biao Ren Yuqing Li Xin Xu Xuedong Zhou | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,1: | 9

Design of a Flexible Capture Mechanism Inspired by Sea Anemone for Non-cooperative Targets显示文摘Robotic grippers have been used in industry as end-effectors but are usually limited to operations in pre-defined workspace. However, few devices can capture irregularly shaped dynamic targets in space, underwater and other unstructured environments. In this paper,a novel continuum arm group mechanism inspired by the morphology and motions of sea anemones is proposed. It is able to dissipate and absorb the kinetic energy of a fast moving target in omni-direction and utilize multiple arms to wrap and lock the target without accurate positioning control.Wire-driven actuation systems are implemented in the individual continuum arms, achieving both bending motion and stiffness regulation.Through finite element method, the influence of different configurations of the continuum arm group on the capture performance is analyzed.A robotic prototype is constructed and tested, showing the presented arm group mechanism has high adaptability to capture targets with different sizes, shapes, and incident angles. | Jiankun Yang Chengwei Ren Chenghao Yang Youyu Wang Shumin Wan Rongjie Kang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,4: | 1

Flexoelectricity-enhanced photovoltaic effect in trapezoid-shaped NaNbO_(3)nanotube array composites显示文摘In this work,we successfully prepared vertically aligned NaNbO_(3)nanotube(NN-NT)with trapezoidal shapes,in which the orthorhombic and monoclinic phases coexisted.According to the structure analysis, the NN-NT/epoxy composite film had excellent flexoelectric properties due to the lattice distortion caused by defects and irregular shape. The flexoelectric effect is the greatest in the vertical direction in the flexible NN-NT/epoxy composite film, and the flexoelectric coefficient()is 2.77×10^(−8)C·m^(−1),which is approximately 5-fold higher than that of the pure epoxy film. The photovoltaic current of the NN-NT/epoxy composite film increased from 39.9 to 71.8 nA·cm^(−2)in the direction of spontaneous polarization when the sample was bent upward due to the flexoelectricity-enhanced photovoltaic(FPV)effect. The flexoelectric effect of the NN-NT/epoxy composite film could modulate the photovoltaic response by increasing it by 80%or reducing it to 65%of the original value. This work provides a new idea for further exploration in efficient and lossless ferroelectric memory devices. | Fang Yu Junyuan Tian Fengying Jiang Yunjie Liu Chaohai Li Chengwei Wang Zhong Lin Wang Kailiang Ren | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,9: | 0
Significantly enhanced energy density of nanodiamond/polyimide composites at high temperatures with ultralow nanodiamond contents显示文摘The development of miniature devices has generated a large demand for dielectric polymers with high energy storage density, especially at high temperatures.First, poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA)-coated nanodiamond(ND)particles were incorporated into a polyimide(PI)substrate to fabricate ND-g-PMMA/PI(NPP)composites.We found for the first time that with a very low content(0.4 vol.%)of ND particles,NPP-0.4 composite material gave the dielectric constant of 4.4,which is 37.5%higher than that of the PI film. The maximum energy density of the NPP-0.4 composite film achieves 9.4 J cm^(-3)at room temperature, which is 54%higher than that of the PI film.Furthermore,we found that the NPP-0.2 composite reaches the highest energy density and discharge efficiency of 5.77 J cm^(-3)and 72.3%at 150℃,which are 104%and 51.3%higher than those of the PI film at 150℃.This result shows a much higher energy density than most previously published results for high-temperature polymer capacitors. This phenomenon can be explained by the simulation results using COMSOL in which the interface polarization of ND/PI composites reached their maximum value with ultralow ND contents(0.4 vol.%).This research shows great promise for polymer capacitors with relatively high energy density at high temperatures. | WANG ChengWei CAO XiaoDan TIAN JunYuan YU Fang JIANG FengYing REN KaiLiang | 2023 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,4: | 0
Glutathione S-Transferase(GST)Identified from Giant Kelp Macrocystis pyrifera Increases the Copper Tolerance of Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942显示文摘The glutathione S-transferases gene family plays an important regulatory role in growth and development, and responses to environmental change. In this study, six complete GST genes(Mp GST1,Mp GST2,Mp GST3,MpGST4,Mp GST5,and Mp GST6)were cloned from the gametophytes of brown alga Macrocystis pyrifera.Subsequent bioinformatics analysis showed that these six genes encoded proteins with 202,216,288,201,205,and 201 aa,respectively. Moreover,Mp GST3 differs from the other GST genes.Phylogenetic analysis suggested that MpGST3 belongs to the Ure2p type GST.Domain analysis suggested that the other GSTs from M.pyrifera belong to the soluble GST family and form an independent branch with the GSTs found in the other macroalgae, suggesting that a new GST type was formed during macroalgal evolution.GST genes were upregulated in M.pyrifera when 2.5 mg L^(-1)Cu ions were added to the medium.Six GST genes were integrated into the genome of Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942,and their functions were verified by measuring light absorbance, photosynthetic pigment content, and photosynthetic parameters of the transformed strains under 0.3 mg L^(-1)Cu ion stress. The results showed much higher levels of various parameters in the transformed strains than in the wild strain. The transformed strains(with the MpGST genes)showed significantly enhanced resistance to Cu ion stress, while the wild strain almost died. The results of this study lay a theoretical foundation for further research on the Cu ion stress resistance function of GSTs in M.pyrifera. | GU Zipeng REN Yudong LIANG Chengwei ZHANG Xiaowen GENG Yilin XU Dong YE Naihao | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,3: | 0
The prospects for bioprinting tumor models:recent advances in their applications显示文摘Three-dimensional(3D)tumor models prepared from patient-derived cells have been reported to imitate some of the biological development processes of in situ tumors in vitro. These 3D tumor models share several important characteristics with their in vivo tumor counterparts.Accordingly, their applications in tumor modeling, drug screening, and precision-targeted treatment are promising. However, the establishment of tumormodels is subject to several challenges, including advancements in scale size, repeatability, structural precision in time and space, vascularization, and the tumor microenvironment.Recently, bioprinting technologies enabling the editorial arrangement of cells, factors, and materials have improved the simulation of tumormodels in vitro.Among the 3D bioprinted tumor models, the organoidmodel has been widely appreciated for its advantages of maintaining high heterogeneity and capacity for simulating the developmental process of tumor tissues. In this review,we outline approaches and potential prospects for tumor model bioprinting and discuss the existing bioprinting technologies and bioinks in tumor model construction. The multidisciplinary combination of tumor pathology, molecular biology, material science, and additive manufacturing will help overcome the barriers to tumor model construction by allowing consideration of the structural and functional characteristics of in vitro models and promoting the development of heterogeneous tumor precision therapies. | Changru Zhang Xiaoqin Qiu Yu Dai Weiqing Kong Yihao Liu Haoyi Niu Chengwei Wang Xuelian Mi Hui Wang Ya Ren Han Yang Kerong Dai Jinwu Wang | 2023 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2023,6,6: | 0
