| 2 | Effect of Powder Particle Shape on the Properties of In Situ Ti–TiB Composite Materials Produced by Selective Laser Melting显示文摘This work studied the preparation of starting powder mixture influenced by milling time and its effect on the particle morphology(especially the shape) and, consequently, density and compression properties of in situ Ti–Ti B composite materials produced by selective laser melting(SLM) technology. Starting powder composite system was prepared by mixing 95 wt% commercially pure titanium(CP-Ti) and 5wt% titanium diboride(TiB 2) powders and subsequently milled for two different times(i.e. 2 h and 4 h).The milled powder mixtures after 2 h and 4 h show nearly spherical and irregular shape, respectively.Subsequently, the resultant Ti–5 wt% TiB 2 powder mixtures were used for SLM processing. Scanning electron microscopy image of the SLM-processed Ti–Ti B composite samples show needle-shape TiB phase distributed across the Ti matrix, which is the product of an in-situ chemical reaction between Ti and TiB 2during SLM. The Ti–Ti B composite samples prepared from 2 h and 4 h milled Ti–TiB 2 powders show different relative densities of 99.5% and 95.1%, respectively. Also, the compression properties such as ultimate strength and compression strain for the 99.5% dense composite samples is 1421 MPa and 17.8%, respectively, which are superior to those(883 MPa and 5.5%, respectively) for the 95.1% dense sample. | 7 | Principles of microRNA involvement in human cancers显示文摘Naturally occurring microRNAs (miRNAs), small non-coding RNAs of 19 to 24 nucleotides (nt), are encoded in the genomes of invertebrates, vertebrates, and plants. miRNAs act as regulators of gene expression during development and differentiation at the transcriptional, posttranscriptional, and/or translational levels, although most target genes are still elusive. Many miRNAs are conserved in sequence between distantly related organisms, suggesting that these molecules participate in essential processes. In this review, we present principles related to the basic and translational research that has emerged in the last decade, a period that can be truly considered the 'miRNA revolution' in molecular oncology. These principles include the regulation mechanism of miRNA expression, functions of miRNAs in cancers, diagnostic values and therapeutic potentials of miRNAs. Furthermore, we present a compendium of information about the main miRNAs that have been identified in the last several years as playing important roles in cancers. | 9 | Tuberculosis terminal ileitis:A forgotten entity mimicking Crohn's disease显示文摘Intestinal tuberculosis(TB) is an uncommon lesion for which differential diagnosis can be difficult. We present a case of a 53-year-old male and a systematic review of the literature, from clinical symptoms to differential diagnosis, unusual complications and therapy. The patient was admitted to the hospital with signs of acute abdomen as a result of a perforated terminal ileitis. Based on the skip lesions of the terminal ileum and cecum, Crohn's disease(CD) was clinically suspected. An emergency laparotomy and right colectomy with terminal ileum resection was performed and systematic antibiotherapy was prescribed. The patient's status deteriorated and he died 4 d after the surgical intervention. At the autopsy, TB ileotyphlitis was discovered. The clinical criteria of the differential diagnosis between intestinal TB and CD are not very well established. Despite the large amount of published articles on this subject, only 50 papers present new data regarding intestinal TB. Based on these studies and our experience, we present an update focused on the differential diagnosis and therapy of intestinal TB. We highlight the importance of considering intestinal TB as a differential diagnosis for inflammatory bowel disease.
