Analyses of Lattice Traffic Flow Model on a Gradient Highway显示文摘The optimal current difference lattice hydrodynamic model is extended to investigate the traffic flow dynamics on a unidirectional single lane gradient highway. The effect of slope on uphill/downhill highway is examined through linear stability analysis and shown that the slope significantly affects the stability region on the phase diagram.Using nonlinear stability analysis, the Burgers, Korteweg-deVries(KdV) and modified Korteweg-deVries(mKdV) equations are derived in stable, metastable and unstable region, respectively. The effect of reaction coefficient is examined and concluded that it plays an important role in suppressing the traffic jams on a gradient highway. The theoretical findings have been verified through numerical simulation which confirm that the slope on a gradient highway significantly influence the traffic dynamics and traffic jam can be suppressed efficiently by considering the optimal current difference effect in the new lattice model.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma Poonam Redhu 2014Communications in Theoretical Physics2014,61,9:5
Nonlinear analysis of traffic jams in an anisotropic continuum model显示文摘This paper presents our study of the nonlinear stability of a new anisotropic continuum traffic flow model in which the dimensionless parameter or anisotropic factor controls the non-isotropic character and diffusive influence. In order to establish traffic flow stability criterion or to know the critical parameters that lead,on one hand,to a stable response to perturbations or disturbances or,on the other hand,to an unstable response and therefore to a possible congestion,a nonlinear stability criterion is derived by using a wavefront expansion technique. The stability criterion is illustrated by numerical results using the finite difference method for two different values of anisotropic parameter. It is also been observed that the newly derived stability results are consistent with previously reported results obtained using approximate linearisation methods. Moreover, the stability criterion derived in this paper can provide more refined information from the perspective of the capability to reproduce nonlinear traffic flow behaviors observed in real traffic than previously established methodologies.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma 2010Chinese Physics B2010,19,11:3
在在印度的心血管的风险因素的地区性的变化: 印度心手表显示文摘 Cardiovascular disease(CVD) is an important cause of mortality and morbidity in India.Mortality statistics and morbidity surveys indicate substantial regional variations in CVD prevalence and mortality rates.Data from the Registrar General of India reported greater ageadjusted cardiovascular mortality in southern and eastern states of the country.Coronary heart disease(CHD) mortality is greater in south India while stroke is more common in the eastern Indian states.CHD prevalence is higher in urban Indian populations while stroke mortality is similar in urban and rural regions.Case-control studies in India have identified that the common major risk factors account for more than 90% of incident myocardial infarctions and stroke. The case-control INTERHEART and INTERSTROKE studies reported that hypertension, lipid abnormalities, smoking, obesity, diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, low fruit and vegetable intake, and psychosocial stress are as important in India as in other populations of the world.Individual studies have reported that there are substantial regional variations in risk factors in India. At a macro-level these regional variations in risk factors explain some of the regional differences in CVD mortality. However, there is need to study the prevalence of multiple cardiovascular risk factors in different regions of India and to correlate them with variations in CVD mortality using a uniform protocol. There is also a need to determine the 'causes of the causes' or fundamental determinants of these risk factors. The India Heart Watch study has been designed to study socioeconomic, anthropometric and biochemical risk factors in urban populations in different regions of the country in order to identify regional differences.Rajeev Gupta Soneil Guptha Krishna Kumar Sharma Arvind Gupta Prakash Deedwania 2012World Journal of Cardiology2012,4,4:3
Analysis of the wave properties of a new two-lane continuum model with the coupling effect显示文摘A multilane extension of the single-lane anisotropic continuum model (GK model) developed by Gupta and Katiyar for traffic flow is discussed with the consideration of the coupling effect between the vehicles of different lanes in the instantaneous traffic situation and the lane-changing effect. The conditions for securing the linear stability of the new model are presented. The shock and the rarefaction waves, the local cluster effect and the phase transition are investigated through simulation experiments with the new model and are found to be consistent with the diverse nonlinear dynamical phenomena observed in a real traffic flow. The analysis also focuses on empirically observed twolane phenomena, such as lane usage inversion and the density dependence of the number of lane changes. It is shown that single-lane dynamics can be extended to multilane cases without changing the basic properties of the single-lane model. The results show that the new multilane model is capable of explaining some particular traffic phenomena and is in accordance with real traffic flow.Arvind Kumar Gupta Sapna Sharma 2012Chinese Physics B2012,21,1:2

Clinical outcomes for nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension after taxanebased induction chemotherapy and concurrent chemo-radiotherapy in the modern era显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the survival outcomes for a cohort of nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension(ICE)treated with induction chemotherapy(ICT)followed by chemo-intensity-modulated radiotherapy(CTRT)at a tertiary cancer center. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed 45 patients with histologically proven,non-metastatic NPC with ICE treated at our institute between October 2008 and October 2016.Patients were classified as minor ICE or major ICE,based on the extent of ICE.All the patients received 2-3 cycles of a taxane-based ICT regimen followed by CTRT.Radiotherapy was delivered with'riskadapted'intensity-modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)technique in all patients. Results:After a median follow up of 45 months(range:8-113 months),the estimated 5-year DFS,LRFS,DMFS,and OS of the entire cohort was 58%,82%,67%and 74%respectively.On multivariate analysis, histological subtype was an independent predictor of LRFS,and age was an independent predictor of DFS.The extent of ICE showed only a trend towards worse DFS(P=0.06).None of the factors significantly predicted for DMFS or OS.Gender,N-stage,and response to ICT did not significantly affect any of the outcomes.Grade 2 or worse subcutaneous fibrosis was seen in 22%of patients and grade 2 or worse xerostomia was seen in 24%of patients at last follow up.Thirty-three percent of the patients developed clinical hypothyroidism at last follow up.None of the patients experienced any neurological or vascular complications.Conclusions:Taxane-based induction chemotherapy followed by chemo-intensity modulated radiotherapy resulted in excellent locoregional control and survival with acceptable toxicities in patients of nasopharyngeal cancer with intracranial extension.Distant metastasis continues to be the predominant problem in these patients.Sarbani Ghosh-Laskar Avinash Pilar Carlton Johnny Kumar Prabhash Amit Joshi Jai Prakash Agarwal Tejpal Gupta Ashwini Budrukkar Vedang Murthy Monali Swain Vanita Noronha Vijay Maruthi Patil Prathamesh Pai Deepa Nair Devendra Arvind Chaukar Shivakumar Thiagarajan Gouri Pantvaidya Anuja Deshmukh Pankaj Chaturvedi Sudhir Nair Anil D’Cruz 2020World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery2020,6,1:1

Light weight HTPB-clay nanocomposites (HCN) with enhanced ablation performance as inhibition materials for composite propellant显示文摘In the present study, organically modified Montmorillonite clay with polar moiety, the Cloisite 30B,is used for preparation of Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)-clay nanocomposites(HCN)by dispersion of nanoclay in polymer matrix under high shear mixing. The nanocomposites thus prepared are evaluated in composite propellants as inhibitor material for their functional utility.Several inhibition formulations containing 5 wt%-15 wt%of nanoclay, with or without the conventional filler Sb2O3,were prepared. All these formulations were evaluated for their physical, mechanical, thermal, and ablative properties.Ablation rate and density of the compositions containing Cloisite 30B is around 23%and 5%lower respectively in comparison of the base composition.Strain capability of these compositions is twofold higher than that of base composition. These compositions have also been evaluated for their smoke generation tendency by measuring infra red(IR)attenuation in the wavelength range 1.3 mm e5.6 mm and 8 mme13 mm and thereby compared with the base composition. The corresponding results confirmed that the compositions containing Cloisite 30B as filler have much lower IR attenuation than compositions with conventional filler,Sb2O3.Replacement of 5%Sb2O3 by nanoclay showed 8%reduction in IR attenuation rate which further reduced to 16%on replacement of 15%of Sb2O3.Interfacial bonding of HCN based inhibitors is also comparable or even better than conventional inhibitors.Precisely, the nanoclay composites with Cloisite 30B as filler exhibit all desirable properties of an inhibitor.Kavita Ghosh L.V.Gaikwad R.K.Kalal P.A.Kulkarni Arvind Kumar Shaibal Banerjee Manoj Gupta 2021Defence Technology(防务技术)2021,17,2:1
Performance evaluation of cement-stabilized pond ash-rice husk ashclay mixture as a highway construction material显示文摘This paper reports the results of an investigation carried out on clay soil stabilized with pond ash(PA),rice husk ash(RHA) and cement. Modified Proctor compaction tests were performed in order to investigate the compaction behavior of clay, and California bearing ratio(CBR) tests were performed to determine the strength characteristics of clay. For evaluation purpose, the specimens containing different amounts of admixtures were prepared. Clay was replaced with PA and RHA at a dosage of 30%e45% and5%e20%, respectively. The influence of stabilizer types and dosages on mechanical properties of clay was evaluated. In order to study the surface morphology and crystallization characteristics of the soil samples, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses were carried out, respectively. The results obtained indicated a decrease in the maximum dry density(MDD) and a simultaneous increase in the optimum moisture content(OMC) with the addition of PA and RHA.Multiple linear regression analysis(MLRA) showed that the predicted values of CBR tests are in good agreement with the experimental values. Developed stabilized soil mixtures showed satisfactory strength and can be used for construction of embankments and stabilization of sub-grade soil. The use of locally available soils, PA, RHA, and cement in the production of stabilized soils for such applications can provide sustainability for the local construction industry.Deepak Gupta Arvind Kumar 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,1:1

Multifunctional Bidirectional Charging System for EVs and Grid with Improved Power Quality Using a Sparse Proportionate-NLMF Based Method显示文摘Electric vehicles(EVs)are one of the more emerging and significant areas, representing the future of transportation. Moreover, the increased demand for EVs brings greater attention toward the development of the charging infrastructure. Therefore, this paper addresses the multifunctional charging system integrated with the grid,EV battery and household utilities. It presents an improved idea about the charging system with grid connection and its connection to the varying local nonlinear load.It consists of a voltage source converter(VSC)tied to the grid and bidirectional converter, which charges/discharges the battery and also regulates the constant voltage across the DC bus, where all the vehicles are connected for charging. It also shows the operations of charging/discharging the battery of EVs and the voltage and current profile across the battery as per the state of charge(SOC)limits. Moreover, the sparse constrained proportionate normalized least mean fourth(SCP-NLMF)based method is used to control the charging system by estimating the active component of load current. The derived mean square error(MSE)of load current is improved due to low convergence rates in later periods. The adaptation process becomes more accurate by mitigating the MSE error of load current to converge faster and the dynamic response is further improved. The simulated and tested results validate the accuracy and efficacy of the SCPNLMF technique and charging system.Dulichand Jaraniya Urvashi Gupta Shailendra Kumar Arvind Mittal 2023CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,3:0
