| 1 | FY-3E:The First Operational Meteorological Satellite Mission in an Early Morning Orbit显示文摘Fengyun-3 E(FY-3E),the world’s first early-morning-orbit meteorological satellite for civil use,was launched successfully at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on 5 July 2021.The FY-3E satellite will fill the vacancy of the global early-morning-orbit satellite observation,working together with the FY-3C and FY-3D satellites to achieve the data coverage of early morning,morning,and afternoon orbits.The combination of these three satellites will provide global data coverage for numerical weather prediction(NWP)at 6-hour intervals,effectively improving the accuracy and time efficiency of global NWP,which is of great significance to perfect the global earth observing system.In this article,the background and meteorological requirements for the early-morning-orbit satellite are reviewed,and the specifications of the FY-3E satellite,as well as the characteristics of the onboard instrumentation for earth observations,are also introduced.In addition,the ground segment and the retrieved geophysical products are also presented.It is believed that the NWP communities will significantly benefit from an optimal temporal distribution of observations provided by the early morning,mid-morning,and afternoon satellite missions.Further benefits are expected in numerous applications such as the monitoring of severe weather/climate events,the development of improved sampling designs of the diurnal cycle for accurate climate data records,more efficient monitoring of air quality by thermal infrared remote sensing,and the quasicontinuous monitoring of the sun for space weather and climate. | Peng ZHANG Xiuqing HU Qifeng LU Aijun ZHU Manyun LIN Ling SUN Lin CHEN Na XU | 2022 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,1: | 13 |
| 2 | miR-210 over-expression enhances mesenchymal stem cell survival in an oxidative stress environment through antioxidation and c-Met pathway activation显示文摘microRNA-210(miR-210)has generally been reported to be associated with cell survival under hypoxia.However,there are few data regarding the role of miR-210 in the survival of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)under oxidative stress conditions.Thus,we sought to investigate whether miR-210 over-expression could protect MSCs against oxidative stress injury and what the primary mechanisms involved are.The results showed that over-expression of miR-210 significantly reduced the apoptosis of MSCs under oxidative stress,accompanied by obvious increases in cell viability and superoxide dismutase activity and remarkable decreases in malonaldehyde content and reactive oxygen species production,resulting in a noticeable reduction of apoptotic indices when compared with the control.Moreover,the above beneficial effects of miR-210 could be significantly reduced by c-Met pathway repression.Collectively,these results showed that miR-210 over-expression improved MSC survival under oxidative stress through antioxidation and c-Met pathway activation,indicating the potential development of a novel approach to enhance the efficacy of MSC-based therapy for injured myocardium. | XU JianFeng HUANG ZheYong LIN Li FU MingQiang GAO YanHua SHEN YunLi ZOU YunZeng SUN AiJun QIAN JuYing GE JunBo | 2014 | Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,10: | 10 |
| 3 | Evaluation of genotoxicity of combined soil pollution by cadmium and imidacloprid显示文摘Cadmium (Cd) is one of the important pollutants of soil and the genotoxicity of Cd-contaminated soil was studied in combination with imidacloprid. The single cell gel electrophoresis or comet assay was used to quantify DNA strand breaks as a measure of DNA damage induced by Cd and imidacloprid contamination in soil. The soil was artificially contaminated by Cd 2 h at 25℃ and were used in the comet assay. DNA damage was measured as the values of percentage of nuclei with tails, tail length, tail DNA, tail moment (TM), and Olive tail moment (OTM). DNA damages of root tips of Vicia faba increased after Cd treatment and there were dose-related increases in DNA damage measured as these parameters. However, the addition of imidacloprid further increased the DNA damage. | 4 | Frequency Loss and Recovery in Rolling Bearing Fault Detection显示文摘Rolling element bearings are key components of mechanical equipment. The bearing fault characteristics are a ected by the interaction in the vibration signals. The low harmonics of the bearing characteristic frequencies cannot be usually observed in the Fourier spectrum. The frequency loss in the bearing vibration signal is presented through two independent experiments in this paper. The existence of frequency loss phenomenon in the low frequencies, side band frequencies and resonant frequencies and revealed. It is demonstrated that the lost frequencies are actually suppressed by the internal action in the bearing fault signal rather than the external interference. The amplitude and distribution of the spectrum are changed due to the interaction of the bearing fault signal. The interaction mechanism of bearing fault signal is revealed through theoretical and practical analysis. Based on mathematical morphology, a new method is provided to recover the lost frequencies. The multi-resonant response signal of the defective bearing are decomposed into low frequency and high frequency response, and the lost frequencies are recovered by the combination morphological filter(CMF). | 6 | Bio-removal of mixture of benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and xylenes/total petroleum hydrocarbons/trichloroethylene from contaminated water显示文摘Four pure cultures were isolated from soil samples potentially contaminated with gasoline compounds either at a construction site near a gas station in Fai Chi Kei,Macao SAR or in the northern parts of China(Beijing,and Hebei and Shandong).The effects of different concentrations of benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and three isomers(ortho-,meta-,and para-) of xylene(BTEX),total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH),and trichloroethylene(TCE),when they were present in mixtures,on the bio-removal effciencies of microbial isolates were investigated,together with their interactions during the bio-removal process.When the isolates were tested for the BTEX(50-350 mg/L)/TPH(2000 mg/L) mixture,BTEoX in BTEoX/TPH mixture was shown with higher bio-removal effciencies,while BTEmX in BTEmX/TPH mixture was shown with the lowest,regardless of isolates.The TPH in BTEmX/TPH mixture,on the other hand,were generally shown with higher bio-removal effciencies compared to when TPH mixed with BTEoX and BTEpX.When these BTEX mixtures(at 350 mg/L) were present with TCE(5-50 mg/L),the stimulatory effect of TCE toward BTEoX bio-removal was observed for BTEoX/TCE mixture,while the inhibitory effect of TCE toward BTEmX for BTEmX/TCE mixture.The bio-removal effciency for TPH was shown lower in TPH(2000 mg/L)/TCE(5-50 mg/L) mixtures compared to TPH present alone,implying the inhibitory effect of TCE toward TPH bio-removal.For the mixture of BTEX(417 mg/L),TPH(2000 mg/L) along with TCE(5- 50 mg/L),TCE was shown co-metabolically removed more effciently at 15 mg/L,probably utilizing BTEX and/or TPH as primary substrates. | SHIM Hojae MA Wei LIN Aijun CHAN Kaicho | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,6: | 3 |
| 7 | Tocilizumab in patients with moderate or severe COVID-19: a randomized, controlled, open-label, multicenter trial显示文摘Tocilizumab has been reported to attenuate the“cytokine storm”in COVID-19 patients.We attempted to verify the effectiveness and safety of tocilizumab therapy in COVID-19 and identify patients most likely to benefit from this treatment.We conducted a randomized,controlled,open-label multicenter trial among COVID-19 patients.The patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive either tocilizumab in addition to standard care or standard care alone.The cure rate,changes of oxygen saturation and interference,and inflammation biomarkers were observed.Thirty-three patients were randomized to the tocilizumab group,and 32 patients to the control group.The cure rate in the tocilizumab group was higher than that in the control group,but the difference was not statistically significant(94.12%vs.87.10%,rate difference 95%CI−7.19%–21.23%,P=0.4133).The improvement in hypoxia for the tocilizumab group was higher from day 4 onward and statistically significant from day 12(P=0.0359).In moderate disease patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions,the hypoxia ameliorated earlier after tocilizumab treatment,and less patients(1/12,8.33%)needed an increase of inhaled oxygen concentration compared with the controls(4/6,66.67%;rate difference 95%CI−99.17%to−17.50%,P=0.0217).No severe adverse events occurred.More mild temporary adverse events were recorded in tocilizumab recipients(20/34,58.82%)than the controls(4/31,12.90%).Tocilizumab can improve hypoxia without unacceptable side effect profile and significant influences on the time virus load becomes negative.For patients with bilateral pulmonary lesions and elevated IL-6 levels,tocilizumab could be recommended to improve outcome. | Dongsheng Wang Binqing Fu Zhen Peng Dongliang Yang Mingfeng Han Min Li Yun Yang Tianjun Yang Liangye Sun Wei Li Wei Shi Xin Yao Yan Ma Fei Xu Xiaojing Wang Jun Chen Daqing Xia Yubei Sun Lin Dong Jumei Wang Xiaoyu Zhu Min Zhang Yonggang Zhou Aijun Pan Xiaowen Hu Xiaodong Mei Haiming Wei Xiaoling Xu | 2021 | Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,3: | 2 |

| 14 | Fabrication and evaluation of an optimized xenogenic decellularized costal cartilage graft:preclinical studies of a novel biocompatible prosthesis for rhinoplasty显示文摘On account of the poor biocompatibility of synthetic prosthesis,millions of rhinoplasty recipients have been forced to choose autologous costal cartilage as grafts,which suffer from limited availability,morbidity at the donor site and prolonged operation time.Here,as a promising alternative to autologous costal cartilage,we developed a novel xenogeneic costal cartilage and explored its feasibility as a rhinoplasty graft for the first time.Adopting an improved decellularization protocol,in which the ionic detergent was substituted by trypsin,the resulting decellularized graft was confirmed to preserve more structural components and better mechanics,and eliminate cellular components effectively.The in vitro and in vivo compatibility experiments demonstrated that the decellularized graft showed excellent biocompatibility and biosecurity.Additionally,the functionality assessment of rhinoplasty was performed in a rabbit model,and the condition of grafts after implantation was comprehensively evaluated.The optimized graft exhibited better capacity to reduce the degradation rate and maintain the morphology,in comparison to the decellularized costal cartilage prepared by conventional protocol.These findings indicate that this optimized graft derived from decellularized xenogeneic costal cartilage provides a new prospective for future investigations of rhinoplasty prosthesis and has great potential for clinical application. | Shuang Lin Yuanjia He Meihan Tao Aijun Wang Qiang Ao | 2021 | Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,6: | 1 |

| 18 | Phenotypic plasticity and genetic variation of cotton yield and its related traits under water-limited conditions显示文摘Global warming is limiting availability of water resources in arid and semi-arid regions,and so understanding water use efficiency(WUE)is increasingly important for agricultural production in those areas.As China is the largest cotton producing area,the problem of balancing WUE and efficient cotton production is a major issue.In this study,we used a natural population of 517 Upland cotton accessions to conduct a water-controlled trial in south and north of Xinjiang over two years.A total of 18 traits including agronomic traits,fiber yield indices and fiber quality indices,were investigated for broad-sense heritability and coefficient of variation.Appropriate water limitation was found to promote the establishment of favorable agronomic traits in cotton,associated with an increased cotton yield of 8.46%in Xinjiang,at the expense of a certain degree of fiber quality,such as decreased fiber length and an over-higher micronaire value.We detected 33 QTL related to response to water limitation using a drought resistance coefficient(DRC),and 6 QTL were found using a comprehensive indicator of CIDT(comprehensive index of drought tolerance)at the genetic level by integrating resequencing data.Two novel QTL-hotspots including six differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were further identified related to the drought response of cotton.These findings not only suggested a new approach to irrigation of cotton fields in Xinjiang,but also provided abundant genetic evidence for genetic breeders to study drought improvement of crops. | Baoqi Li Qin Tian Xuwen Wang Bei Han Li Liu Xianhui Kong Aijun Si Juan Wang Zhongxu Lin Xianlong Zhang Yu Yu Xiyan Yang | 2020 | The Crop Journal2020,8,6: | 1 |

| 20 | Boosting self-trapped exciton emission from Cs_(3)Cu_(2)I_(5)nanocrystals by doping-enhanced exciton-phonon coupling显示文摘Self-trapped excitons(STEs)emission from halide perovskites with strong exciton-phonon coupling has attracted considerable attention due to the widespread application in optoelectronic devices.Nevertheless,the in-depth understanding of the relationship between exciton-phonon coupling and luminescence intensity remains incomplete.Herein,a doping-enhanced exciton-phonon coupling effect is observed in Cs_(3)Cu_(2)I_(5)nanocrystals(NCs),which leads to a remarkable increasement of their STEs emission efficiency.Mechanism study shows that the hetero-valent substitution of Cu+with alkaline-earth metal ions(AE^(2+))causes a greater degree of Jahn-Teller distortion between the ground state and excited state structures of[Cu_(2)I_(5)]_(3)-clusters as evidenced by our spectral analysis and first-principles calculations.As a consequence,an X-ray detector based on these Cs_(3)Cu_(2)I_(5):AE NCs delivers an X-ray imaging resolution of up to 10 lp·mm^(-1) and a low detection limit of 0.37μGyair·s^(-1),disclosing the potential of doping-enhanced exciton-phonon coupling effect in improving STEs-emission and practical application for X-ray imaging. | Xiaohan Li Aijun Liu Zhaoyu Wang Youchao Wei Qun Lin Yameng Chen Yongsheng Liu Maochun Hong | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0 |
