2Influence of Atmospheric Particulate Matter on Ozone in Nanjing,China:Observational Study and Mechanistic Analysis显示文摘Particulate matter with diameters of 2.5 μm or smaller(PM_(2.5)) and ozone(O_3) are major pollutants in the urban atmosphere. PM_(2.5) can affect O_3 by altering the photolysis rate and heterogeneous reactions. However, these two processes and their relative importance remain uncertain. In this paper, with Nanjing in China as the target city, we investigate the characteristics and mechanism of interactions between particles and O_3 based on ground observations and numerical modeling.In 2008, the average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and O_3 at Caochangmen station are 64.6 ± 47.4 μg m^(-3) and 24.6 ± 22.8 ppb,respectively, while at Pukou station they are 94.1 ± 63.4 μg m^(-3) and 16.9 ± 14.9 ppb. The correlation coefficient between PM_(2.5) and O_3 is -0.46. In order to understand the reaction between PM_(2.5) and O_3, we construct a box model, in which an aerosol optical property model, ultraviolet radiation model, gas phase chemistry model, and heterogeneous chemistry model,are coupled. The model is employed to investigate the relative contribution of the aforementioned two processes, which vary under different particle concentrations, scattering capability and VOCs/NOxratios(VOCs: volatile organic compounds;NOx: nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide). Generally, photolysis rate effect can cause a greater O_3 reduction when the particle concentrations are higher, while heterogeneous reactions dominate O_3 reduction with low-level particle concentrations.Moreover, in typical VOC-sensitive regions, O_3 can even be increased by heterogeneous reactions. In Nanjing, both processes lead to O_3 reduction, and photolysis rate effect is dominant. 3Relationship between types of urban forest and PM_(2.5) capture at three growth stages of leaves显示文摘Particulate matter diameter ≤ 2.5 μm(PM2.5) causes direct harm to human health. Finding forms of urban forest systems that with the ability to reduce the amount of particulate matter in air effectively is the aim of this study. Five commonly cultivated kinds of urban forest types were studied in Beijing city at three stages of leaf growth. Results show that the urban forest system is capable of storing and capturing dust from the air. The types of shrubs and broadleaf trees that have the ability to capture PM2.5from the air are most effective when leaves have fully developed. In the leafless season, the conifer and mixed tree types are the most effective in removing dust from the air. For all kinds of forest types and stages of leaf growth, the PM2.5concentration is highest in the morning but lower in the afternoon and evening. 4Land-atmosphere-ocean coupling associated with the Tibetan Plateau and its climate impacts显示文摘This paper reviews recent advances regarding land-atmosphere-ocean coupling associated with the Tibetan Plateau(TP)and its climatic impacts.Thermal forcing over the TP interacts strongly with that over the Iranian Plateau,forming a coupled heating system that elevates the tropopause,generates a monsoonal meridional circulation over South Asia and creates conditions of large-scale ascent favorable for Asian summer monsoon development.TP heating leads to intensification and westward extension(northward movement)of the South Asian High(Atlantic Intertropical Convergence Zone),and exerts strong impacts on upstream climate variations from North Atlantic to West Asia.It also affects oceanic circulation and buoyancy fields via atmospheric stationary wave trains and air-sea interaction processes,contributing to formation of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation.The TP thermal state and atmospheric-oceanic conditions are highly interactive and Asian summer monsoon variability is controlled synergistically by internal TP variability and external forcing factors.Yimin Liu Mengmeng Lu Haijun Yang Anmin Duan Bian He Song Yang Guoxiong Wu 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:21
5Isolation,characterization,and phylogenic analysis of three new severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus strains derived from Hubei Province,China显示文摘Hubei Province is a major epidemic area of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus(SFTSV) in China. However, to date, a few SFTSV strains have been isolated from Hubei Province, preventing effective studies of epidemic outbreaks. Here, we report three confirmed patients(2015–2016) with typical symptoms of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome disease(SFTS) who were farmers resident in different regions in Hubei Province. Three new SFTSV strains were isolated from the serum samples of each patient. Characterization of viral growth properties showed that there were no significant differences in virus production. All strains were completely sequenced, and phylogenetic analysis showed that unlike the other strains from Hubei province, which belonged to the SFTSV C3 genotype, one of the three strains belonged to the SFTSV C2 genotype. 6Microstructure and Tribological Behavior of a TiO_2/hBN Composite Ceramic Coating Formed via Micro-arc Oxidation of Ti–6Al–4V Alloy显示文摘A composite coating containing hexagonal boron nitride(hBN) particles and titanium oxide(TiO_2) was formed on the surface of Ti–6Al–4V alloy via micro-arc oxidation(MAO). The effect of quantity of the hBN-particles added into electrolyte on microstructure, composition, and wear behavior of the resulting composite coatings was investigated. Microstructure, phase composition, and tribological behavior of the resulting MAO coatings were evaluated via scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and ball-on-disc abrasive tests. The results reveal that the TiO_2/hBN composite coating consisting of rutile TiO_2, anatase TiO_2, and an hBN phase was less porous than particle-free coating. Furthermore, the presence of hBN particles in the MAO coating produced an improved anti-friction property. The composite coating produced in the electrolyte containing 2 g/L of hBN particles exhibited the best wear resistance.The outer loose layer of the MAO coatings was removed by a mechanical polishing process, which led to a significant improvement in the wear resistance and anti-friction properties of the MAO coatings and highlighted an essential lubricating role of hBN particles in the composite coatings. 7Effect of Ce doping into V_(2)O_(5)-WO_(3)/TiO_(2) catalysts on the selective catalytic reduction of NO_(x) by NH_(3)显示文摘In this work, the effectiveness of V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2 catalysts modified with different CeO_2 contents by impregnation and co-precipitation methods on the selective catalytic reduction of NOxby NH3 have been studied comparatively by various experimental techniques. The results showed that the NO conversion of V_2O_5-WO_3/CeO_2-TiO_2 catalysts modified by co-precipitation method obviously increased with the Ce doping contents in the studied range below 20%(All Ce contents are in mass fractions), but the NO conversion of V_2O_5-WO_3/CeO_2/TiO_2 catalysts modified by impregnation methods was lower than V_2O_5-WO_3/CeO_2-TiO_2 catalysts especially beyond 2.5% Ce doping contents. The V_2O_5-WO_3/CeO_2-TiO_2 catalysts showed better SCR activity, wider reaction window, and higher sulfur and water resistance. The characterization results elucidated that the modified catalysts by co-precipitation method exhibited higher specific surface area, much better dispersity of Ce component, more Ce^(3+)species and more Br?nsted acid sites than that by impregnation. The vacancies caused by more Ce^(3+)species were favorable for more NO oxidation to NO_2, and the interaction between Ce species and WOxspecies generated more Br?nsted acid sites. It could be supposed that dispersed Ce Oxspecies and WOxspecies offered more second active centers respectively to adsorb oxygen and activate ammonia as co-catalysis to the primary active center of V ions, thus facilitated the better SCR activity of modified V_2O_5-WO_3/CeO_2-TiO_2 catalysts by coprecipitation methods. 8Functional traits of tree species with phylogenetic signal co-vary with environmental niches in two large forest dynamics plots显示文摘Aims While using phylogenetic and functional approaches to test the mechanisms of community assembly,functional traits often act as the proxy of niches.However,there is little detailed knowledge regarding the correlation between functional traits of tree species and their niches in local communities.We suggest that the co-varying correlation between functional traits and niches should be the premise for using phylogenetic and functional approaches to test mechanisms of community assembly.Using functional traits,phylogenetic and environmental data,this study aims to answer the questions:(i)within local communities,do functional traits of co-occurring species covary with their environmental niches at the species level?and(ii)what is the key ecological process underlying community assembly in Xishuangbanna and Ailaoshan forest dynamic plots(FDPs)?Methods We measured seven functional traits of 229 and 36 common species in Xishuangbanna and Ailaoshan FDPs in tropical and subtropical China,respectively.We also quantified the environmental niches for these species based on conditional probability.We then analyzed the correlations between functional traits and environmental niches using phylogenetic independent contrasts.After examining phylogenetic signals of functional traits using Pagel’sλ,we quantified the phylogenetic and functional dispersion along environmental gradients within local tree communities.Important Findings For target species,functional traits do co-vary with environmental niches at the species level in both of the FDPs,supporting that functional traits can be used as a proxy for local-scale environmental niches.Functional traits show significant phylogenetic signals in both of the FDPs.We found that the phylogenetic and functional dispersion were significantly clustered along topographical gradients in the Ailaoshan FDP but overdispersion in the Xishuangbanna FDP.These patterns of phylogenetic and functional dispersion suggest that environmental filtering plays a key role in structuring local tree assemblages in Ailaoshan FDP,while competition exclusion plays a key role in Xishuangbanna FDP.Jie Yang Xiuqin Ci Mengmeng Lu Guocheng Zhang Min Cao Jie Li Luxiang Lin 2014Journal of Plant Ecology2014,7,2:16

10Spatial-temporal Dynamics and Driving Forces of Land Development Intensity in the Western China from 2000 to 2015显示文摘The change in land development intensity is an important perspective to reflect the variation in regional social and economic development and spatial differentiation.In this paper,spatial statistical analysis,Ordinary Least Squares(OLS),and Geographically weighted regression(GWR)methods are used to systematically analyse the spatial-temporal characteristics and driving forces of land development intensity for 131 spatial units in the western China from 2000 to 2015.The findings of the study are as follows:1)The land development intensity in the western China has been increasing rapidly.From 2000 to 2015,land development intensity increased by 3.4 times on average.2)The hotspot areas have shifted from central Inner Mongolia,northern Shaanxi and the Beibu Gulf of Guangxi to the Guanzhong Plain and the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration.The areas of cold spots were mainly concentrated in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,Yunnan,and Xinjiang.3)Investment intensity and the natural environment have always been the main drivers of land development intensity in the western China.Investment played a powerful role in promoting land development intensity,while the natural and ecological environment distinctly constrained such development.The effect of the economic factors on land development intensity in the western China has changed,which is reflected in the driving factor of construction land development shifting from economic growth in 2000 to economic structure,especially industrial structure,in 2015.HUANG Xin HUANG Xiaojun LIU Mengmeng WANG Bo ZHAO Yonghua 2020Chinese Geographical Science2020,30,1:12
11Reliability and safety analysis of redundant vehicle management computer system显示文摘Redundant techniques are widely adopted in vehicle management computer(VMC) to ensure that VMC has high reliability and safety.At the same time,it makes VMC have special characteristics,e.g.,failure correlation,event simultaneity,and failure self-recovery.Accordingly,the reliability and safety analysis to redundant VMC system(RVMCS) becomes more diffcult.Aimed at the diffculties in RVMCS reliability modeling,this paper adopts generalized stochastic Petri nets to establish the reliability and safety models of RVMCS.Then this paper analyzes RVMCS operating states and potential threats to flight control system.It is verifed by simulation that the reliability of VMC is not the product of hardware reliability and software reliability,and the interactions between hardware and software faults can reduce the real reliability of VMC obviously.Furthermore,the failure undetected states and false alarming states inevitably exist in RVMCS due to the influences of limited fault monitoring coverage and false alarming probability of fault monitoring devices(FMD).RVMCS operating in some failure undetected states will produce fatal threats to the safety of flight control system.RVMCS operating in some false alarming states will reduce utility of RVMCS obviously.The results abstracted in this paper can guide reliable VMC and effcient FMD designs.The methods adopted in this paper can also be used to analyze other intelligent systems' reliability.Shi Jian Meng Yixuan Wang Shaoping Bian Mengmeng Yan Dungong 2013Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,5:11

Qinling from China are described, namely M acrophya brevicinctata Li, Liu & Wei, sp. nov., M. qinlingium Li, Liu & Wei, sp. nov. and M. rugosifossa Li, Liu & Wei, sp. nov. A key to all known species of the annulitibia-group from China is provided. The specimens examined in this study are mostly deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Changsha, Hunan, China, including all holotypes and some paratypes of the new species. 13Qingnaoyizhi decoction suppresses the formation of glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells in cultured neural stem cells by inhibiting the Janus kinase 2/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: Inactivation of the Janus kinase 2(JAK2)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3) signaling axis plays a crucial role in determining the fate of neural stem cells(NSCs).Qingnaoyizhi decoction(QNYZD) has been used for the treatment of vascular dementia and has shown to improve synaptic remodeling. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) containing QNYZD(CSF-QNYZD) on the differentiation of cultured NSCs and the involvement of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway.METHODS: The protein expression levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP), tubulin, drosophila mothers against decapentaplegic protein(SMAD-1), STAT3, and phosphorylated-STAT3 were detected by western immunoblot analysis in the groups: control, CSF, JAK/STAT inhibitor(AG490),CSF-QNYZD, and CSF-XDZ(CSF-Xidezhen). The differentiation of NSCs was determined by immunofluorescence staining. The proliferation of NSCs was measured using the Cell Counting Kit-8 proliferation assay.RESULTS: Compared with the control group,CSF-QNYZD and AG490 significantly increased the number and expression of tubulin-positive cells, reduced the number and expression of GFAP-positive cells, and down-regulated the expression of p-STAT3. However, CSF-QNYZD also decreased the expression of SMAD-1 and STAT3.CONCLUSION: Enhanced neuronal differentiation may be associated with the down-regulation of glial differentiation instead of promoting proliferationin treated NSCs. Furthermore, QNYZD may play a direct role in suppressing the formation of GFAP-positive cells and enhancing neuronal differentiation by inhibiting JAK2/STAT3 activation. 15Counteraction of ABA-Mediated Inhibition of Seed Germination and Seedling Establishment by ABA Signaling Terminator in Arabidopsis显示文摘Seed germination and seedling establishment are important for the reproductive success of plants,but seeds and seedlings typically encounter constantly changing environmental conditions.By inhibiting seed germination and post-germinative growth through the PYR1/PYL/RCAR ABA receptors and PP2C co-receptors,the phytohormone abscisic acid(ABA)prevents premature germination and seedling growth under unfavorable conditions.However,little is known about how the ABA-mediated inhibition of seed germination and seedling establishment is thwarted.Here,we report that ABA Signaling Terminator(ABT),a WD40 protein,efficiently switches off ABA signaling and is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment.ABT is induced by ABA in a PYR1/PYL/RCAR-PP2C-dependent manner.Overexpression of ABT promotes seed germination and seedling greening in the presence of ABA,whereas knockout of ABT has the opposite effect.We found that ABT interacts with the PYR1/PYL/RCAR and PP2C proteins,interferes with the interaction between PYR1/PYL4 and ABI1/ABI2,and hampers the inhibition of ABI1/ABI2 by ABA-bound PYR1/PYL4,thereby terminating ABA signaling.Taken together,our results reveal a core mechanism of ABA signaling termination that is critical for seed germination and seedling establishment in Arabidopsis.Zhijuan Wang Ziyin Ren Chunhong Cheng Tao Wang Hongtao Ji Yang Zhao Zhiping Deng Liya Zhi Jingjing Lu Xinying Wu Shimin Xu Mengmeng Cao Hongtao Zhao Liu Liu Jiankang Zhu Xia Li 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,9:10
16Chrysanthemum WRKY15-1 promotes resistance to Puccinia horiana Henn. via the salicylic acid signaling pathway显示文摘Chrysanthemum white rust disease,which is caused by the fungus Puccinia horiana Henn.,severely reduces the ornamental quality and yield chrysanthemum.WRKY transcription factors function in the disease-resistance response in a variety of plants;however,it is unclear whether members of this family improve resistance to white rust disease in chrysanthemum.In this study,using PCR,we isolated a WRKY15 homologous gene,CmWRKY15-1,from the resistant chrysanthemum cultivar C029.Real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)revealed that CmWRKY15-1 exhibited differential expression patterns between the immune cultivar C029 and the susceptible cultivar Jinba upon P.horiana infection.In addition,salicylic acid(SA)treatment strongly induced CmWRKY15-1 expression.Overexpression of CmWRKY15-1 in the chrysanthemum-susceptible cultivar Jinba increased tolerance to P.horiana infection.Conversely,silencing CmWRKY15-1 via RNA interference(RNAi)in C029 increased sensitivity to P.horiana infection.We also determined that P.horiana infection increased both the endogenous SA content and the expression of salicylic acid biosynthesis genes in CmWRKY15-1-overexpressing plants,whereas CmWRKY15-1 RNAi plants exhibited the opposite effects under the same conditions.Finally,the transcript levels of pathogenesis-related(PR)genes involved in the SA pathway were positively associated with CmWRKY15-1 expression levels.Our results demonstrated that CmWRKY15-1 plays an important role in the resistance of chrysanthemum to P.horiana by influencing SA signaling.Mengmeng Bi Xueying Li Xin Yan Di Liu Ge Gao Pengfang Zhu Hongyu Mao 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:9
17Osteoclast-derived apoptotic bodies couple bone resorption and formation in bone remodeling显示文摘Bone remodeling is precisely coordinated by bone resorption and formation.Apoptotic osteoclasts generate large amounts of apoptotic bodies(ABs)marking the end of the bone resorption phase,whereas the functions of osteoclast-derived ABs remain largely unknown.Here,we identified the molecular profile of ABs derived from osteoclasts at distinct differentiation stages and investigated their corresponding functions.ABs were isolated from apoptotic bone marrow macrophages,preosteoclasts,and mature osteoclasts induced by staurosporine.Proteomic signature analysis with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry suggested marked protein cargo differences among the different ABs.Further bioinformatic analysis showed that the proteomic signatures of the ABs were highly similar to those of their parental cells.Functionally,pOC-ABs induced endothelial progenitor cell differentiation and increased CD31hiEmcnhi endothelial cell formation in a murine bone defect model via their PDGF-BB cargo.mOC-ABs induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and facilitated osteogenesis via RANKL reverse signaling.In summary,we mapped the detailed proteomic landscapes of ABs derived from osteoclasts and showed that their potential biological roles are important in coupling bone formation with resorption during bone remodeling.Qinyu Ma Mengmeng Liang Yutong Wu Fei Luo Zaisong Ma Shiwu Dong Jianzhong Xu Ce Dou 2021Bone Research2021,9,1:8
18Mitogen-activated protein kinase cascades in plant signaling显示文摘Mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)cascades are key signaling modules downstream of receptors/sensors that perceive either endogenously produced stimuli such as peptide ligands and damage-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs)or exogenously originated stimuli such as pathogen/microbe-associated molecular patterns(P/MAMPs),pathogen-derived effectors,and environmental factors.In this review,we provide a historic view of plant MAPK research and summarize recent advances in the establishment of MAPK cascades as essential components in plant immunity,response to environmental stresses,and normal growth and development.Each tier of the MAPK cascades is encoded by a small gene family,and multi ple members can function redundantly in an MAPK cascade.Yet,they carry out a diverse array of biological functions in plants.How the signaling specificity is achieved has become an interesting topic of MAPK research.Future investigations into the molecular mechanism(s)underlying the regulation of MAPK activation including the activation kinetics and magnitude in response to a stimulus,the spatiotemporal expression patterns of all the components in the signaling pathway,and functional characterization of novel MAPK substrates are central to our understanding of MAPK functions and signaling specificity in plants.Mengmeng Zhang Shuqun Zhang 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,2:8
19Aerodynamic control of NACA 0021 airfoil model with spark discharge plasma synthetic jets显示文摘Spark discharge plasma synthetic jets(SPJs) have been used for the active flow control study on an NACA 0021 straight-wing model in a wind tunnel. The model forces and moments were measured using a six-component sting balance at a 20 m/s wind speed. The aim was to explore the SPJ's effect on airfoil aerodynamic by examining SPJ generators' position along the chordwise and the jet flow direction about the chord. Near the wing leading edge, two SPJ generators raised the stall angle by 2° and increased the maximum lift coefficient by 9%. The drag coefficient was decreased by 33.1%, and the lift-drag ratio was increased by 104.2% at an angle of attack above 16°. The rolling-moment coefficient was modified by 0.002, and the yawing-moment coefficient was changed by 0.0007 at angles of attack in the range of 0°–16°. 20Ni@N-doped graphene nanosheets and CNTs hybrids modified separator as efficient polysulfide barrier for high-performance lithium sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur batteries (LSBs) have been regarded as one of the most promising energy storage systems to break through the upper limit of lithium-ion batteries.However,the rampant diffusions of soluble lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) in the electrolyte induced the shuttle effect between anode and cathode,resulting in low sulfur utilization,low energy efficiency and short cycling life.Herein,we prove the rational design and construction of Ni nanoparticles filled in vertically grown N-doped bamboo-like carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on graphene nanosheets (Ni@NG-CNTs) as efficient polysulfide barrier for high-performance LSBs.The unique design integrates graphene nanosheets and CNTs into hierarchical architectures with one-dimensional (1D) CNTs,two-dimensional (2D) ultrethin nanosheets and abundant carbon nanocages.This design provides large surface area for lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) adsorption,accelerates electron transport and enhances electrochemical redox of LiPSs.Benefiting from the unique structural features,the LSBs with the Ni@NG-CNTs as polysulfide barrier keep high reversible specific capacities of 309.1 and 265.0 mAh·g-1 at 5 and 10 C rates after 500 cycles.This work provides a new strategy for constructing self-assembled hybrids of CNTs and graphene nanosheets with abundant carbon nanocages for high-performance LSBs.Xintao Zuo Mengmeng Zhen Cheng Wang 2019Nano Research2019,12,4:8
