2A Review on Grain Refinement of Aluminum Alloys:Progresses,Challenges and Prospects显示文摘Aluminum becomes the most popular nonferrous metal and is widely used in many fields such as packaging,building transportation and electrical materials due to its rich resource, light weight, good mechanical properties, suitable corrosion resistance and excellent electrical conductivity. Grain refinement, which is obtained by changing the size of grain structure by different techniques, is a preferred method to improve simultaneously the strength and plasticity of metallic materials. Therefore, grain refining of aluminum is regarded as a key technique in aluminum processing industry.Up to now, there have been a number of techniques for aluminum grain refining. All the techniques can be classified as four categories as follows: grain refining by vibration and stirring during solidification, rapid solidification, the addition of grain refiner and severe plastic deformation. Each of them has its own merits and demerits as well as applicable conditions, and there are still some arguments in the understanding of the mechanisms of these techniques. 4Interaction of Hsp40 with influenza virus M2 protein: implications for PKR signaling pathway显示文摘Influenza virus contains three integral membrane proteins:haemagglutinin,neuraminidase,and matrix protein(M1 and M2).Among them,M2 protein functions as an ion channel,important for virus uncoating in endosomes of virus-infected cells and essential for virus replication.In an effort to explore potential new functions of M2 in the virus life cycle,we used yeast two-hybrid system to search for M2-associated cellular proteins.One of the positive clones was identified as human Hsp40/Hdj1,a DnaJ/Hsp40 family protein.Here,we report that both BM2(M2 of influenza B virus)and A/M2(M2 of influenza A virus)interacted with Hsp40 in vitro and in vivo.The region of M2-Hsp40 interaction has been mapped to the CTD1 domain of Hsp40.Hsp40 has been reported to be a regulator of PKR signaling pathway by interacting with p58^(IPK) that is a cellular inhibitor of PKR.PKR is a crucial component of the host defense response against virus infection.We therefore attempted to understand the relationship among M2,Hsp40 and p58^(IPK) by further experimentation.The results demonstrated that both A/M2 and BM2 are able to bind to p58^(IPK)in vitro and in vivo and enhance PKR autophosphorylation probably via forming a stable complex with Hsp40 and P58^(IPK),and consequently induce cell death.These results suggest that influenza virus M2 protein is involved in p58^(IPK)mediated PKR regulation during influenza virus infection,therefore affecting infected-cell life cycle and virus replication.Zhenhong Guan Di Liu Shuofu Mi Jie Zhang Qinong Ye Ming Wang George F.Gao Jinghua Yan 2010Protein & Cell2010,1,10:11
5Effects of early oral feeding after radical total gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients显示文摘BACKGROUND Gastric cancer(GC)is a heavy burden in China.Nutritional support for GC patients is closely related to postoperative rehabilitation.However,the role of early oral feeding after laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy in GC patients is unclear and high-quality research evidence is scarce.AIM To prospectively explore the safety,feasibility and short-term clinical outcomes of early oral feeding after laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy for GC patients.METHODS This study was a prospective cohort study conducted between January 2018 and December 2019 based in a high-volume tertiary hospital in China.A total of 206 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy for GC were enrolled.Of which,105 patients were given early oral feeding(EOF group)after surgery,and the other 101 patients were given the traditional feeding strategy(control group)after surgery.Perioperative clinical data were recorded and analyzed.The primary endpoints were gastrointestinal function recovery time and postoperative complications,and the secondary endpoints were postoperative nutritional status,length of hospital stay and expenses,etc.RESULTS Compared with the control group,patients in the EOF group had a significantly shorter postoperative first exhaust time(2.48±1.17 d vs 3.37±1.42 d,P=0.001)and first defecation time(3.83±2.41 d vs 5.32±2.70 d,P=0.004).In addition,the EOF group had a significant shorter postoperative hospitalization duration(5.85±1.53 d vs 7.71±1.56 d,P<0.001)and lower postoperative hospitalization expenses(16.60±5.10 K¥vs 21.00±7.50 K¥,P=0.014).On the 5th day after surgery,serum prealbumin level(214.52±22.47 mg/L vs 204.17±20.62 mg/L,P=0.018),serum gastrin level(246.30±57.10 ng/L vs 223.60±55.70 ng/L,P=0.001)and serum motilin level(424.60±68.30 ng/L vs 409.30±61.70 ng/L,P=0.002)were higher in the EOF group.However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of total postoperative complications between the two groups(P=0.507).CONCLUSION Early oral feeding after laparoscopic radical total gastrectomy can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function,improve postoperative nutritional status,reduce length of hospital stay and expenses while not increasing the incidence of related complications,which indicates its safety,feasibility and potential benefits for gastric cancer patients.Yi-Xun Lu Yan-Jun Wang Tian-Yu Xie Shuo Li Di Wu Xiong-Guang Li Qi-Ying Song Li-Peng Wang Da Guan Xin-Xin Wang 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,36:9
6Role of prophylactic hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Gastric cancer is the second most common malignant tumor in China,ranking third among all malignant tumor mortality rates.Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC)has been shown to increase significantly the effectiveness of intraperitoneal chemotherapeutic drugs,prolong the action time of these drugs on intraperitoneal tumor cells,and enhance their diffusion in tumor tissues.HIPEC may be one of the best choices for the eradication of residual cancer cells in the abdominal cavity.AIM The aim of this study was to study the role of preventive HIPEC after radical gastrectomy.METHODS A prospective analysis was performed with patients with c T4 N0-3 M0 gastric cancer to compare the effects of postoperative prophylactic HIPEC plus intravenous chemotherapy with those of routine adjuvant chemotherapy.Patients’medical records were analyzed,and differences in the peritoneal recurrence rate,diseasefree survival time,and total survival time between groups were examined.RESULTS The first site of tumor recurrence was the peritoneum in 11 cases in the conventional adjuvant chemotherapy group and in 2 cases in the HIPEC group(P=0.020).The 1-year and 3-year disease-free survival rates were 91.9%and 60.4%,respectively,in the conventional adjuvant chemotherapy group and 92.1%and 63.0%,respectively,in the HIPEC group.The 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates were 95.2%and 66.3%,respectively,in the conventional adjuvant chemotherapy group and 96.1%and 68.6%,respectively,in the HIPEC group.No significant difference in postoperative or chemotherapy complications was observed between groups.CONCLUSION In patients with c T4 N0-3 M0 gastric cancer,prophylactic HIPEC after radical tumor surgery is beneficial to reduce peritoneal tumor recurrence and prolong survival.Tian-Yu Xie Di Wu Shuo Li Zhao-Yan Qiu Qi-Ying Song Da Guan Li-Peng Wang Xiong-Guang Li Feng Duan Xin-Xin Wang 2020World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2020,12,7:7
7Bph30confers resistance to brown planthopperby fortifying sclerenchyma in rice leaf sheaths显示文摘Phloem-feeding insects cause massive losses in agriculture and horticulture.Host plant resistance to phloem-feeding insects is often mediated by changes in phloem composition,which deter insect settling and feeding and decrease viability.Here,we report that rice plant resistance to the phloem-feeding brown planthopper(BPH)is associated with fortification of the sclerenchyma tissue,which is located just beneath the epidermis and a cell layer or two away from the vascular bundle in the rice leaf sheath.We found that BPHs prefer to feed on the smooth and soft region on the surface of rice leaf sheaths called the long-cell block.We identified Bph30 as a rice BPH resistance gene that prevents BPH stylets from reaching the phloem due to the fortified sclerenchyma.Bph30 is strongly expressed in sclerenchyma cells and enhances cellulose and hemicellulose synthesis,making the cell walls stiffer and sclerenchyma thicker.The structurally fortified sclerenchyma is a formidable barrier preventing BPH stylets from penetrating the leaf sheath tissues and arriving at the phloem to feed.Bph30 belongs to a novel gene family,encoding a protein with two leucine-rich domains.Another member of the family,Bph40,also conferred resistance to BPH.Collectively,the fortified sclerenchyma-mediated resistance mechanism revealed in this study expands our understanding of plant-insect interactions and opens a new path for controlling planthoppers in rice.Shaojie Shi Huiying Wang Lingyun Nie Di Tan Cong Zhou Qian Zhang YiLi Bo Du Jianping Guo Jin Huang DiWu Xiaohong Zheng Wei Guan Junhan Shan Lili Zhu Rongzhi Chen Longjian Xue Linda L.Walling Guangcun He 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,10:7
8Mg-Zn-Y-Nd coated with citric acid and dopamine by layer-by-layer self-assembly to improve surface biocompatibility显示文摘Magnesium alloy has been generally accepted as an important biodegradable material on cardiovascular stent development for a long time. However, its limited biocompatibility, especially delayed endothelialization process restricts its further application. In this contribution, we modified the Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy surface with citric acid and dopamine via a layer-by-layer self-assembly assay, aiming at improving the biocompatibility of the magnesium alloy. The citric acid/dopamine(CA/PDA) layer exhibited a remarkable suppression of platelet activation/aggregation and thrombosis under 15 dyn/cm2 blood flowing. Inhibition on vascular smooth muscle cells growth and macrophages attachment/activation were also observed on this layer. In particular, the CA/PDA layer presented a promoted property for the vascular endothelial cells growth and spreading compared with the bare magnesium alloy, suggesting the pro-endotelialized function. 9Application of permanganate in the oxidation of micropollutants:a mini review显示文摘As a green oxidant,permanganate has received considerable attention for the removal of micropollutants in drinking water treatment.To provide a better understanding of the oxidation of organic micropollutants with permanganate,the oxidation kinetics of 32 micropollutants were compiled.The pollutants include algal toxins,endocrine disrupting chemicals(EDCs),and pharmaceuticals.The oxidation kinetics of micropollutants by permanganate were found to be first order with respect to both contaminant and permanganate concentrations from which second-order rate constants(k″)were obtained.Permanganate oxidized the heterocyclic aromatics with vinyl moiety(i.e.,microcystins,carbamazepine,and dichlorvos)by the addition of double bonds.For the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)with alkyl groups,permanganate attacked the benzylic C-H through abstraction of hydrogen.The mechanism for the oxidation of phenolic EDCs by permanganate was a single electron transfer and aromatic ring cleavage.The presence of background matrices could enhance the oxidation of some phenolic EDCs by permanganate,including phenol,chlorinated phenols,bisphenol A,and trichlosan.The toxicity of dichlorvos solution increased after permanganate oxidation,and the estrogenic activity of bisphnol A/estrone increased significantly at the beginning of permanganate oxidation.Therefore,the toxicity of degradation products or intermediates should be determined in the permanganate oxidation processes to better evaluate the applicability of permanganate.The influence of background ions on the permanganate oxidation process is far from clear and should be elucidated in the future studies to better predict the performance of permanganate oxidation of micropollutants.Moreover,methods should be employed to catalyze the permanganate oxidation process to achieve better removal of micropollutants.Xiaohong GUAN Di HE Jun MA Guanghao CHEN 2010Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2010,4,4:7
10Evolution of secondary phase particles during deformation of Al-5Ti-1B master alloy and their effect on α-Al grain refinement显示文摘Addition of Al-5Ti-1B alloy to molten aluminum alloys can refine α-Al grains effectively and thereby improve their strength and toughness. TiAl_3 and TiB_2 in Al-5Ti-1B alloy are the main secondary-phase particles for refinement, while the understanding on the effect of their sizes on α-Al grain refinement continues to be fragmented. Therefore, Al-5Ti-1B alloys with various sizes and morphologies of the secondary-phase particles were prepared by equal channel angular pressing(ECAP). Evolution of the secondary-phase particles during ECAP process and their impact on α-Al grain refinement were studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope(SEM). Results show that during the ECAP process, micro-cracks firstly appeared inside TiAl_3 particles and then gradually expanded, which resulted in continuous refinement of TiAl_3 particles. In addition, micro-distribution uniformity of TiB_2 particles was improved due to the impingement of TiAl_3 particles to TiB_2 clusters during deformation. Excessively large sizes of TiAl_3 particles would reduce the number of effective heterogeneous nucleus and thus resulted in poor grain refinement effectiveness. Moreover, excessively small TiAl_3 particles would reduce inhibitory factors for grain growth Q and weaken grain refinement effectiveness. 11DNA degradation within mouse brain and dental pulp cells 72 hours postmortem显示文摘In this study, we sought to elucidate the process of DNA degradation in brain and dental pulp cells of mice, within postmortem 0-72 hours, by using the single cell gel electrophoresis assay and professional comet image analysis and processing techniques. The frequency of comet-like cells, the percentage of tail DNA, tail length, tail moment, Olive moment and tail area increased in tandem with increasing postmortem interval. In contrast, the head radius, the percentage of head DNA and head area showed a decreasing trend. Linear regression analysis revealed a high correlation between these parameters and the postmortem interval. 12Hepatocellular carcinoma with tumor thrombus in bile duct:A proposal of new classification according to resectability of primary lesion显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with tumor thrombus in the bile duct(BDTT)is easily misdiagnosed or mistreated due to the clinicopathological diversity of the thrombus and its relationship with primary lesions.AIM To propose a new classification for HCC with BDTT in order to guide its diagnosis and treatment.METHODS A retrospective review of the diagnosis and treatment experience regarding seven typical HCC patients with BDTT between January 2010 and December 2019 was conducted.RESULTS BDTT was preoperatively confirmed by computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging in only four patients.Three patients with recurrent HCC and one patient with first-occurring HCC had no visible intrahepatic tumors;of these,misdiagnosis occurred in two patients,and three patients died.One patient was mistreated as having common bile duct stones,and another patient with a history of multiple recurrent HCC was misdiagnosed until obvious biliary dilation could be detected.Only one patient who received hepatectomy accompanied by BDTT extraction exhibited disease-free survival during the follow-up period.A new classification was proposed for HCC with BDTT as follows:HCC with microscopic BDTT(Type Ⅰ);resectable primary or recurrent HCC mass in the liver with BDTT(Type Ⅱ);BDTT without an obvious HCC mass in the liver(Type Ⅲ)and BDTT accompanied with unresectable intra-or extrahepatic HCC lesions(Type Ⅳ).CONCLUSION We herein propose a new classification system for HCC with BDTT to reflect its pathological characteristics and emphasize the significance of primary tumor resectability in its treatment.Di Zhou Gang-Feng Hu Wei-Chen Gao Xiao-Yu Zhang Wen-Bin Guan Jian-Dong Wang Fei Ma 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,44:4

15PLASMA RESISTIN LEVELS AND SINGLE-NUCLEOTIDE POLYMORPHISMS IN RESISTIN GENE 5 FLANKING REGION IN PATIENTS WITH STROKE显示文摘Objective To analyze the role of resistin in insulin resistance (IR) through investigating the variation of plasma resistin levels and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in resistin gene 5’ flanking region in stroke patients.Methods In 103 atherothrombotic cerebral infarction (ACI) patients, 85 lacunar infarction (LI) patients, 70 intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) patients, and 86 healthy controls, plasma resistin and insulin levels were measured by ELISA , SNPs in resistin gene 5’ flanking region were detected by PCR and direct DNA sequencing. The subjects’ body height and weight, the body mass index, quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (QUICKI), blood pressure, and the concentration of fasting plasma glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, creatinine, low-density lipoprotein, and high-density lipoprotein were also determined. Results QUICKI was significantly lower in the ACI and ICH patients (0.316±0.037 and 0.309±0.032, respectively) than that in the controls (0.342±0.043, P<0.001), while plasma resistin level was significantly higher in the ACI and ICH patients (6.36±3.79 and 7.15±4.27 ng/mL, respectively) than that in the controls (5.28±2.56 ng/mL, P<0.05), but such difference was not observed in the LI patients compared with controls. There was a statistically negative correlation between plasma resistin level with QUICKI (r=-0.228, P<0.001). The distributions of allele and genotype frequencies of resistin gene -420C>G and -537A>C SNPs were not significantly different among the different groups, and those SNPs were not correlated with other clinical and biochemical parameters.Conclusions Plasma resistin is associated with stroke by participating in the development of IR. 16Effect of Wheel Load on Wheel Vibration and Sound Radiation显示文摘The current researches of wheel vibration and sound radiation mainly focus on the low noise damped wheel. Compared with the traditional research, the relationship between the sound and wheel/rail contact is difficulty and worth studying. However, there are few studies on the effect of wheel load on wheel vibration and sound radiation. In this paper, laboratory test carried out in a semi-anechoic room investigates the effect of wheel load on wheel natural frequencies, damping ratios, wheel vibration and its sound radiation. The laboratory test results show that the vibration of the wheel and total sound radiation decrease significantly with the increase of the wheel load from 0 t to 1 t. The sound energy level of the wheel decreases by 3.7 d B. When the wheel load exceeds 1 t, the attenuation trend of the vibration and sound radiation of the wheel becomes slow. And the increase of the wheel load causes the growth of the wheel natural frequencies and the mode damping ratios. Based on the finite element method(FEM) and boundary element method(BEM), a rolling noise prediction model is developed to calculate the influence of wheel load on the wheel vibration and sound radiation. In the calculation, the used wheel/rail excitation is the measured wheel/rail roughness. The calculated results show that the sound power level of the wheel decreases by about 0.4 dB when the wheel load increases by 0.5 t. The sound radiation of the wheel decreases slowly with wheel load increase, and this conclusion is verified by the field test. 19Assessment of effective conservation of the Sichuan takin by giant panda reserves through functional zoning显示文摘The flagship species conservation strategy is widely practiced in nature reserves.However,few studies have quantitatively explored whether the current functional zoning adequately conserves the habitats of other species.To examine this problem,we selected the Tangjiahe,Xuebaoding,and Wanglang national nature reserves in southwest China and tested the protective efficiency of the giant panda(Ailuropoda melanoleuca)reserves on a local herbivore—Sichuan takin(Budorcas taxicolor tibetana)in functional zoning.We predicted that the habitat distribution of the Sichuan takin with Maxent and habitat suitability would be classified as very low,low,moderately,or highly suitable.We calculated the percentage of each type of habitat class across the core,buffer,and experimental zones in these reserves and introduced an economic index present value index to further assess the efficacy of the functional zoning in conserving the habitat of Sichuan takin.Our findings indicate that suitable habitat distributions of Sichuan takin are multicore and influenced by diverse variables in different nature reserves.The percentage of moderately suitable and highly suitable habitat in the core zone is 69%and 54%in Tangjiahe,76%and 75%in Wanglang,and 47%and 28%in Xuebaoding,respectively.The present value index of moderately and highly suitable habitat is 1.01 and 0.79(Tangjiahe),0.87 and 0.86(Wanglang),0.76 and 0.44(Xuebaoding),respectively.The efficiency of functional zoning on Sichuan takin seems lower than imagined in giant panda reserves,and species that have important impacts on local ecosystem need further estimation and greater focus.Haiyang GAO Tianpei GUAN Di ZHU Wenwen LI Fangyi ZHOU Ding ZHAO Changlin LI Li ZHANG 2020Integrative Zoology2020,15,6:2
20In vivo urinary compatibility of Mg-Sr-Ag alloy in swine model显示文摘A biodegradable metallic ureteral stent with suitable mechanical properties and antibacterial activity remains a challenge.Here we reveal the scientific significance of a biodegradable Mg-Sr-Ag alloy with a favorable combination of balanced mechanical properties,adjustable indwelling time in urinary tract and evident antibacterial activity via in vivo experiments in a swine model.Attributed to the rheo-solidification process,equiaxial microstructure and significantly refined grains(average grain size:27.1μm)were achieved.Mg17Sr2 and Mg4Ag were found as the primary precipitates in the matrix,due to which the alloy obtained ca.111%increase in ultimate tensile strength in comparison to pure magnesium.Both the in vitro and in vivo results demonstrated the satisfactory biocompatibility of the alloy.Histological evaluation and bioindicators analysis suggested that there was no tissue damage,inflammation and lesions in the urinary system caused by the degradation process.The stent also improved the post-operative bladder functions viewed from the urodynamic results.Our findings highlight the potential of this alloy as antibacterial biodegradable urinary implant material.Di Tie Norbert Hort Minfang Chen Renguo Guan Sviatlana Ulasevich Ekaterina V.Skorb Dapeng Zhao Yili Liu Patricia Holt-Torres Huinan Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,1:2
