1Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution,there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China,raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality.Here,using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution.In particular,large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation,and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter.Our results,afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic,indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants.Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He 2021National Science Review2021,8,2:47
2Au/LaVO_(4)Nanocomposite:Preparation,Characterization,and Catalytic Activity for CO Oxidation显示文摘The size of the gold particles is a very important parameter to get active catalysts.This paper reports a novel colloidal deposition method to prepare Au/LaVO_(4)nanocomposite catalyst with monodispersed Au colloids and uniform LaVO_(4)nanoplates in nonpolar solvent.Monodispersed Au colloids with tunable size(such as 2,5,7,11,13,and 16 nm)and LaVO_(4)nanocrystals with well-defi ned shapes were pre-synthesized assisted with oleic acid/amine.During the following immobilization process,the particle size and shape of Au and LaVO_(4)were nearly preserved.As-prepared Au/LaVO_(4)nanocomposite showed high catalytic activity for CO oxidation at room temperature.Since sizes of gold particles were well-defi ned before the immobilization process,size effect of gold particles was easy to be investigated and the results show that 5-nm Au/LaVO_(4)nanocomposite has the highest activity for CO oxidation.This synthetic method can be extended further for the preparation of other composite nanomaterials.Junfeng Liu Wei Chen Xiangwen Liu Kebin Zhou Yadong Li 2008Nano Research2008,1,1:16
3Ordered two-dimensional porous Co3O4 nanosheets as electrocatalysts for rechargeable Li-O2 batteries显示文摘Lithium-oxygen batteries have attracted considerable interest in the past a few years, because they have higher theoretical specific energy than Li-ion batteries. However, the available en ergy den sities of the Li-O2 batteries are much less than expected. It is particularly urgent to find catalyst with high activity. Herein, a series of Co3O4 with differe nt morphologies (ordered two-dimensio nal porous nano sheets, flowerlike and cuboidlike) were successfully prepared through facile hydrothermal and calcinatio n methods. Ordered two-dime nsional Co3O4 nano sheets show the best cycling stability. Detailed experimental results reveal that the superiority of the unique two-dimensional uniform porous structures is vital for Li-O2 batteries cathode catalysts. 11Effect of SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio on the conversion of methanol to olefins over molecular sieve catalysts显示文摘A series of SAPO-34 molecular sieves with different SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratios have been synthesized for the methanol-to-olefin(MTO)reaction.Their physico-chemical properties are characterized by various techniques such as X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)and N2 adsorption-desorption.The results are compared with those of the commercial HZSM-5,which show that the crystallinity and particle diameter of SAPO-34 as well as HZSM-5 increase with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio.The variation of BET surface area of SAPO-34 is different from that of HZSM-5 and the sample with SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio of 0.4 exhibits the highest BET surface area.FT-IR spectra indicate that HZSM-5 has both Brǿnsted and Lewis acid sites and Brǿnsted acid sites are stronger,whereas SAPO-34 samples are dominated only by Lewis acid sites.When the SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio increases,propylene and butylenes become the predominant product of the MTO reaction over HZSM-5.In contrast,the main products of this reaction catalyzed by SAPO-34 are ethylene and propylene.According to the product distribution,the reaction mechanism over HZSM-5 catalysts is proposed.Qian WANG Lei WANG Hui WANG Zengxi LI Xiangping ZHANG Suojiang ZHANG Kebin ZHOU 2011Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2011,5,1:1

14Highly spatial and temporal bottom-up vehicle emission characterization and its control in a typical ecology-preservation area显示文摘The Chishui River Valley is a microscale ecology-preservation area with industrial clusters.The significance of evaluating vehicular emissions has been gradually highlighted with the rapid development of the local transportation and tourism sectors.This study provides the first estimates based on both bottom-up and top-down approaches.The annual total emissions of CO,NOx,hydrocarbons(HC),PM10,and PM2.5 in 2019 were 347.8,189.6,46.3,6.9,and 6.3 Mg,respectively.Trucks contributed the most(55%)to the NOx emissions,followed by heavy-duty passenger vehicles(26%).In contrast,light-duty passenger vehicles and motorcycles generated 75%of the HC emissions.The superior accuracy of highly spatial and temporal bottom-up estimates versus top-down estimates is validated by the similar variation trends of hourly emission intensities and enhanced concentrations relative to background observations for both NOx and CO,with Pearson correlation coefficients between the intensities and concentrations ranging from 0.79 to 0.85.Historical HC emissions peaked in 2013,followed by a sharp decline in 2014 and a continuous rise since then,whereas NOx emissions have kept increasing since 2010.These indicated the necessity and urgency of effective vehicular emission mitigations.Based on scenario analysis,traffic restrictions combined with upgrading the emission standards of admitted vehicles will possess huge emission reduction potentials.Future recommendations about establishing a low emission zone in the valley and supporting policies were introduced.Pengju Bie Fanyuan Deng Bi Chen Li Wang Fan Yang Jianguo Zhou Huan Liu Kebin He 2022Eco-Environment & Health2022,1,3:0
