1FINITE ELEMENT MODELLING OF COMPLEX 3D STATIC AND DYNAMIC CRACK PROPAGATION BY EMBEDDING COHESIVE ELEMENTS IN ABAQUS显示文摘This study proposes an algorithm of embedding cohesive elements in Abaqus and develops the computer code to model 3D complex crack propagation in quasi-brittle materials in a relatively easy and efficient manner.The cohesive elements with softening traction-separation relations and damage initiation and evolution laws are embedded between solid elements in regions of interest in the initial mesh to model potential cracks.The initial mesh can consist of tetrahedrons,wedges,bricks or a mixture of these elements.Neither remeshing nor objective crack propagation criteria are needed.Four examples of concrete specimens,including a wedge-splitting test,a notched beam under torsion,a pull-out test of an anchored cylinder and a notched beam under impact,were modelled and analysed.The simulated crack propagation processes and load-displacement curves agreed well with test results or other numerical simulations for all the examples using initial meshes with reasonable densities.Making use of Abaqus's rich pre/post-processing functionalities and powerful standard/explicit solvers,the developed method offers a practical tool for engineering analysts to model complex 3D fracture problems.Xiangting Su Zhenjun Yang Guohua Liu 2010Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2010,23,3:23

4Exosome-mediated transfer of miR-1290 promotes cell proliferation and invasion in gastric cancer via NKD1显示文摘Currently, exosomes rich in RNAs and proteins are regarded as vital mediators of intercellular communication. Here, we aimed to explore the effects of exosomal miR-1290 in gastric cancer (GC) and understand its mechanism of action on GC progression. We first isolated exosomes from serum samples of GC patients and healthy people and characterized them by transmission electron microscopy. Then, we examined the expression level of miR-1290 contained in the exosomes by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and found that exosomal miR-1290 was overexpressed in GC patients and cell lines. Promotion of proliferation, migration, and invasiveness of GC cells was noted after they were incubated with the isolated miR-1290-rich exosomes compared with incubation with a negative control. Furthermore, we predicted that naked cuticle homolog 1 (NKD1) mRNA is a direct target of miR-1290 and confirmed their interaction by a dual luciferase reporter assay. NKD1 overexpression attenuated the stimulatory effects of miR-1290 on GC cells. Collectively, our results suggest that exosomal miR-1290 enhances GC cell proliferation and invasion by targeting NKD1 mRNA and downregulating NKD1 expression. 5A miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler for space application显示文摘Along with the development of space science and technology,miniature liquid helium temperature long life cryocooler is a focus subject in cryogenic study.Since it is the precondition of space detection researches,institutions of space in many countries do the research on it.In this article,we designed a compound cooling system.A three-stage high frequency thermal coupled pulse tube cryocooler was used to precool a Joule-Thomson(JT)cryocooler.This system has no moving parts at low temperatures and is hence suitable for space operation.Liquid helium temperature was successfully achieved in both open loop and closed cycle experiments.In the closed cycle experiment,when 473 W electric power was inputted,the cooling system reached a no-load temperature of 4.4 K,and a cooling capacity of 11.6 mW was provided at 4.54 K.It is the first miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler in China and the research achievement paves a way for the space application of ultra-long wave infrared detection and THz technologies.QUAN Jia ZHOU ZhenJun LIU YanJie LI JianGuo MA YueXue LIANG JingTao 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11:16
6Craniocerebral injury promotes the repair of peripheral nerve injury显示文摘The increase in neurotrophic factors after craniocerebral injury has been shown to promote fracture healing. Moreover, neurotrophic factors play a key role in the regeneration and repair of peripheral nerve. However, whether craniocerebral injury alters the repair of peripheral nerve injuries remains poorly understood. Rat injury models were established by transecting the left sciatic nerve and using a free-fall device to induce craniocerebral injury. Compared with sciatic nerve injury alone after 6–12 weeks, rats with combined sciatic and craniocerebral injuries showed decreased sciatic functional index, increased recovery of gastrocnemius muscle wet weight, recovery of sciatic nerve ganglia and corresponding spinal cord segment neuron morphologies, and increased numbers of horseradish peroxidase-labeled cells. 9Responses of Saline Soil Properties and Cotton Growth to Different Organic Amendments显示文摘Application of organic waste to saline alkaline soils is considered to be a good practice for soil remediation. The effects of applying different organic amendments(e.g., cattle dung, vermicompost, biofertilizer) and earthworm inoculations(Eisenia fetida) on saline soils and cotton growth were investigated during 1 year of cotton cultivation. Compared to the control(applied with inorganic NPK fertilizer), applying organic amendments improved soil physicochemical properties. Biofertilizer application improved available nutrient content, reduced short-term soil electrical conductivity, and produced the highest cotton yield, whereas cattle dung and vermicompost applications resulted in higher soil organic matter content. Application of organic amendments significantly increased soil microbial biomass carbon during the flowering period, which sharply declined at harvest. This was especially true for the biofertilizer treatment,which also exhibited lower nematode abundance compared with the other organic materials. Earthworm inoculation following cattle dung application failed to significantly change soil physicochemical properties when compared to the treatments without earthworm inoculation. Results suggest that biofertilizer application to saline soil would improve soil nutrient status in the short-term, whereas cattle dung application would improve soil organic matter content and increase soil organism abundance to a greater extent. 10Treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compressive fractures with percutaneous kyphoplasty and oral Zishengukang显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the therapeutic effect of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) and oral Zishengukang(ZSGK) for the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCFs).METHODS:Seventy patients were randomly divided into a control group(PKP group) and an experimental group(PKP plus ZSGK group).The 35 patients in the experimental group were prescribed 6 g oral ZSGK three times a day for 90 days after PKP.Visual analog pain scale(VAS),Oswestry functional score,vertebral height and Cobb's angle were recorded and compared before treatment and at one week,one month and three months after treatment.RESULTS:Vertebral height and Cobb's angle significantly improved and VAS and Oswestry functional score were significantly lower in both groups after PKP than pre-operatively(P<0.01).Three months after treatment,VAS and Oswestry functional score in the experimental group were lower than controls(P<0.05),even though vertebral height and Cobb's angle were comparable(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:PKP combined with oral ZSGK provide superior short-term and long-term symptom control after OVCF than PKP alone.Zhenjun Huang Lijian Zhang 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:13
11Simulation research on the influence of eroded primary key strata on dynamic strata pressure of shallow coal seams in gully terrain显示文摘In Huojitu Coal Mine of Shendong mining area, the dynamic strata pressure (DSP) accidents occurred when the working faces passed the gully terrain. Focusing on this problem, we used physical simulation experimental method to thoroughly study the influence of eroded overlying primary key strata (PKS) in the gully terrain on DSP of shallow coal seams in this paper. The result show that when mining activities took place in the uphill section of shallow coal seams in gully terrain and the PKS were eroded, the blocks could not form stable bond-beam structures since the horizontal force of PKS blocks in adjacent sloping surfaces were relatively small. The sliding instability of blocks caused rapid increase of the load on the sub-key strata (SKS) blocks, which resulted into coal slide and roof fall as well as sharp drop of active columns. This led to DSP phenomenon. When the PKS blocks were intact, there was no DSP phenomenon to enable blocks provide certain horizontal force to maintain stable bond-beam structure. 12Dynamic resistance exercise increases skeletal muscle-derived FSTL1 inducing cardiac angiogenesis via DIP2A-Smad2/3 in rats following myocardial infarction显示文摘Purpose:The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of dynamic resistance exercise to generate skeletal muscle-derived follistatin like-1(FSTL1),which may induce cardioprotection in rats following myocardial infarction(MI)by inducing angiogenesis.Methods:Male,adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 5 groups(n=12 in each group):sham group(S),sedentary MI group(MI),MI+resistance exercise group(MR),MI+adeno-associated virus(AAV)-FSTL1 injection group(MA),and MI+AAV-FSTL1 injection+resistance exercise group(MAR).The AAV-FSTL1 vector was prepared by molecular biology methods and injected into the anterior tibialis muscle.The MI model was established by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery.Rats in the MR and MAR groups underwent 4 weeks of dynamic resistance exercise training using a weighted climbing-up ladder.Heart function was evaluated by hemodynamic measures.Collagen volume fraction of myocardium was observed and analyzed by Masson’s staining.Human umbilical vein vessel endothelial cells culture and recombinant human FSTL1 protein or transforming growth factor-b receptor 1(TGFbR1)inhibitor treatment were used to elucidate the molecular signaling mechanism of FSTL1.Angiogenesis,cell proliferation,and disco interacting protein 2 homolog A(DIP2A)location were observed by immunofluorescence staining.The expression of FSTL1,DIP2A,and the activation of signaling pathways were detected by Western blotting.Angiogenesis of endothelial cells was observed by tubule experiment.One-way analysis of variance and Student’s t test were used for statistical analysis.Results:Resistance exercise stimulated the secretion of skeletal muscle FSTL1,which promoted myocardial angiogenesis,inhibited pathological remodeling,and protected cardiac function in MI rats.Exercise facilitated skeletal muscle FSTL1 to play a role in protecting the heart.Exogenous FSTL1 promoted the human umbilical vein vessel endothelial cells proliferation and up-regulated the expression of DIP2A,while TGFbR1 inhibitor intervention down-regulated the phosphorylation level of Smad2/3 and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-A,which was not conducive to angiogenesis.FSTL1 bound to the receptor,DIP2A,to regulate angiogenesis mainly through the Smad2/3 signaling pathway.FSTL1-DIP2A directly activated Smad2/3 and was not affected by TGFbR1.Conclusion:Dynamic resistance exercise stimulates the expression of skeletal muscle-derived FSTL1,which could supplement the insufficiency of cardiac FSTL1 and promote cardiac rehabilitation through the DIP2A-Smad2/3 signaling pathway in MI rats.Yue Xi Meili Hao Qiaoqin Liang Yongxia Li Da-Wei Gong Zhenjun Tian 2021Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,5:11
13LDHs derived nanoparticle-stacked metal nitride as interlayer for long-life lithium sulfur batteries显示文摘Shuttle effect is one of the most serious disadvantages in lithium-sulfur battery which results in poor cycle performance and hinders the commercialization of Li-S battery.To reduce the dissolution of polysulfides into the electrolyte and prolong the cycling stability,nanoparticle-stacked metal nitride derived from layered double hydroxides(LDHs)as an interlayer was inserted between sulfur cathode and separator to confine polysulfides by physical and chemical interactions.Meanwhile,the surface of metal nitride will form an oxide passivation layer.The passivation layer possesses hydrophilic metal-O group and provides a polar surface for strong binding with polysulfide.What’s more,the nanoparticlesstacked structure could immerge and retain electrolyte well,which could enhance the ability of promoting the electron exchange rate.The sulfur electrode with nanoparticle-stacked metal nitride interlayer has an excellent cycle performance owing to the interactions between metal nitride and polysulfides.The battery delivered an initial capacity of 764.6 m Ahg^(-1) and still possesses a capacity of 477.5 mAhg^(-1) with the retention of 62.4% after 800 cycles.Zhen Li Zhaoling Ma Yanyong Wang Ru Chen Zhenjun Wu Shuangyin Wang 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,3:8
14Exploitation of Bi2O2Se/graphene van der Waals heterojunction for creating efficient photodetectors and short-channel field-effect transistors显示文摘The formation of heterojunction within solid-state devices enables them with eventually high performances,but provides a challenge for material synthesis and device fabrication because strict conditions such as lattice match are needed.Herein,we show a facile method to fabricate a van der Waals(vdW)heterojunction between two-dimensional(2D)bismuth oxyselenide(Bi2O2Se)and graphene,during which the graphene is directly transferred to the Bi2O2Se and served as a lowcontract-resistant electrode with small work function mismatch(~50 meV).As an optoelectronic device,the Bi2O2Se/graphene vdW heterojunction allows for the efficient sensing toward 1200-nm incident laser.Regarding the application of fieldeffect transistors(FETs),the short-channel(50 nm)sample can be synthesized by utilizing these two 2D materials(ie,channel:Bi2O2Se;drain/source terminal:graphene)and the n-type characteristic can be observed with the accordant field modulation.It is confirmed that we show a simple way to prepare the vdW heterojunction which is aiming to the high-performance applications among optoelectronics and FETs.Congwei Tan Shipu Xu Zhenjun Tan Luzhao Sun Jinxiong Wu Tianran Li Hailin Peng 2019InfoMat2019,1,3:8

16Comparing the reinforcement capacity of welded steel mesh and a thin spray-on liner using large scale laboratory tests显示文摘Steel mesh is used as a passive skin confinement medium to supplement the active support provided by rock bolts for roof and rib control in underground coal mines. Thin spray-on liners(TSL) are believed to have the potential to take the place of steel mesh as the skin confinement medium in underground mines.To confirm this belief, large scale laboratory experiments were conducted to compare the behaviour of welded steel mesh and a TSL, when used in conjunction with rock bolts, in reinforcing strata with weak bedding planes and strata prone to guttering, two common rock conditions which exist in coal mines. It was found that while the peak load taken by the simulated rock mass with weak bedding planes acting as the control sample(no skin confinement) was 2494 kN, the corresponding value of the sample with 5 mm thick TSL reinforcement reached 2856 kN. The peak load of the steel mesh reinforced sample was only2321 kN, but this was attributed to the fact that one of the rock bolts broke during the test. The TSL reinforced sample had a similar post-yield behaviour as the steel mesh reinforced one. 17Effect of non-solvent additives on the morphology,pore structure, and direct contact membrane distillation performance of PVDF-CTFE hydrophobic membranes显示文摘Four common types of additives for polymer membrane preparation including organic macromolecule and micromolecule additives, inorganic salts and acids, and the strong non-solvent H2 O were used to prepare poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-chlorotrifluoroethylene)(PVDF-CTFE) hydrophobic flat-sheet membranes. Membrane properties including morphology, porosity, hydrophobicity, pore size and pore distribution were investigated, and the permeability was evaluated via direct contact membrane distillation(DCMD) of 3.5 g/L Na Cl solution in a DCMD configuration. Both inorganic and organic micromolecule additives were found to slightly influence membrane hydrophobicity. Polyethylene glycol(PEG),organic acids, Li Cl, Mg Cl2, and Li Cl/H2 O mixtures were proved to be effective additives to PVDF-CTFE membranes due to their pore-controlling effects and the capacity to improve the properties and performance of the resultant membranes. The occurrence of a pre-gelation process showed that when organic and inorganic micromolecules were added to PVDF-CTFE solution, the resultant membranes presented a high interconnectivity structure. The membrane prepared with dibutyl phthalate(DBP) showed a nonporous surface and symmetrical cross-section. When H2 O and Li Cl/H2 O mixtures were also used as additives, they were beneficial for solid–liquid demixing, especially when Li Cl/H2 O mixed additives were used. The membrane prepared with 5% Li Cl + 2% H2 O achieved a flux of24.53 kg/(m2·hr) with 99.98% salt rejection. 18Apoptosis in glioma-bearing rats after neural stem cell transplantation显示文摘Abnormal activation of the Ras/Raf/Mek/Erk signaling cascade plays an important role in glioma. Inhibition of this aberrant activity could effectively hinder glioma cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis. To investigate the mechanism of glioblastoma treatment by neural stem cell transplantation with respect to the Ras/Raf/Mek/Erk pathway, C6 glioma cells were prepared in suspension and then infused into the rat brain to establish a glioblastoma model. Neural stem cells isolated from fetal rats were then injected into the brain of this glioblastoma model. Results showed that Raf-1, Erk and Bcl-2 protein expression significantly increased, while Caspase-3 protein expression decreased. After transplantation of neural stem cells, Raf-1, Erk and Bcl-2 protein expression significantly decreased, while Caspase-3 protein expression significantly increased. 19Phaeocystis globosa Bloom Monitoring: Based on P. globosa Induced Seawater Viscosity Modification Adjacent to a Nuclear Power Plant in Qinzhou Bay, China显示文摘The mucus produced by the outbreak of Phaeocystis globosa in the adjacent waters of the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant(FCGNPP) in China has blocked the entrance of the cooling water filtration system of the FCGNPP, and posed a threat to the safe operation of the FCGNPP. At present, there is no related research on whether the changes in seawater viscosity could be used as a new method for monitoring and providing early warning of P. globosa tide. During a complete red tide cycle, the temporal and spatial changes in the hydrological conditions(temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen), chlorophyll-a(Chl-a), composition and abundance of phytoplankton, number and size of P. globose colonies, concentration of transparent exopolymer particles(TEP) and the seawater viscosity were measured in this study. The results indicate that there was an extremely significant negative correlation between the physical seawater viscosity η_(T,S) and temperature, and the correlation coefficient reached-0.998. The biological seawater viscosity η_(Bio) was positively correlated with the number of P. globosa colonies, and the correlation coefficients is 0.747. Because the increase in phytoplankton abundance, especially during the outbreak of P. globosa and a large amount of mucus produced by the colonies could significantly increase seawater viscosity, we suggest that biological factors were the main reasons for the increase in seawater viscosity.
