| 1 | AXL is a candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 that promotes infection of pulmonary and bronchial epithelial cells显示文摘The current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic presents a global public health challenge.The viral pathogen responsible,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),binds to the host receptor ACE2 through its spike(S)glycoprotein,which mediates membrane fusion and viral entry.Although the role of ACE2 as a receptor for SARS-CoV-2 is clear,studies have shown that ACE2 expression is extremely low in various human tissues,especially in the respiratory tract.Thus,other host receptors and/or co-receptors that promote the entry of SARS-CoV-2 into cells of the respiratory system may exist.In this study,we found that the tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO(AXL)specifically interacts with the N-terminal domain of SARS-CoV-2 S.Using both a SARS-CoV-2 virus pseudotype and authentic SARS-CoV-2,we found that overexpression of AXL in HEK293T cells promotes SARS-CoV-2 entry as efficiently as overexpression of ACE2,while knocking out AXL significantly reduces SARS-CoV-2 infection in HI 299 pulmonary cells and in human primary lung epithelial cells.Soluble human recombinant AXL blocks SARS-CoV-2 infection in cells expressing high levels of AXL.The AXL expression level is well correlated with SARS-CoV-2 S level in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid cells from COVID-19 patients.Taken together,our findings suggest that AXL is a novel candidate receptor for SARS-CoV-2 which may play an important role in promoting viral infection of the human respiratory system and indicate that it is a potential target for future clinical intervention strategies. | Shuai Wang Zongyang Qiu Yingnan Hou Xiya Deng Wei Xu Tingting Zheng Peihan Wu Shaofang Xie Weixiang Bian Chong Zhang Zewei Sun Kunpeng Liu Chao Shan Aifu Lin Shibo Jiang Youhua Xie Qiang Zhou Lu Lu Jing Huang Xu Li | 2021 | Cell Research2021,31,2: | 39 |
| 2 | Isolation and oral immunogenicity assessment of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus NH-TA2020 strain:One of the predominant strains circulating in China from 2017 to 2021显示文摘Porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED)caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)is one of the most devastating diseases in the global pig industry due to its high mortality rate in piglets.Maternal vaccines can effectively enhance the gut-mammary gland-secretory IgA axis to boost lactogenic immunity and passive protection of nursing piglets against PEDV challenge.From 2017 to 2021,we collected 882 diarrhea samples from 303 farms in China to investigate the epidemiology of PEDV.The result showed that about 52.15%(158/303)of the farms were positive for PEDV with an overall detection rate of 63.95%(564/882)of the samples.The S1 fragments of S gene from 104 strains were sequenced for the phylogenetic analysis.A total of 71 PEDV strains(68.27%)sequenced in this study were clustered into the predominant G2c subgroup,while the newly-defined G2d strains(9.62%)were identified in three provinces of China.The NH-TA2020 strain of G2c subgroup was isolated and cultured,and its infection to piglets caused watery diarrhea within 24 h,indicating its strong pathogenicity.Oral administration of NH-TA2020 strain to pregnant gilts stimulated high levels of IgA antibody in colostrum.The piglets fed by the gilts above were challenged with NH-TA2020 strain or CH-HeB-RY-2020 strain from G2d subgroup,and the clinical symptoms and virus shedding were significantly reduced compared to the mock group.Our findings suggest that G2c subgroup is the predominant branch circulating in China from 2017 to 2021.Oral administration of NH-TA2020 enhances maternal IgA and lactogenic immune responses,which confer protection against the homologous and emerging G2d PEDV strains challenges in neonates. | Xiaowen Li Yang Li Jiapei Huang Yali Yao Wenying Zhao Yunjing Zhang Jie Qing Jing Ren Zhong Yan Zewei Wang Xiaofang Hu Duli Kang Hongqiang Liu Zhichun Yan | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,5: | 6 |

| 4 | Theoretical strategies for high-resolution mapping of complex genetic disorders in humans显示文摘Positional cloning of gene(s) underlying a complex disease trait poses requirement of a highresolution linkage map between the disease locus and genetic marker loci. Recent researches have shown that this may be achieved through appropriately modeling and screening linkage disequilibrium between the candidate marker locus and the major trait locus. However, these models were restricted to the circumstances where genotyping at the disease locus was feasible. The major limitations of pedigree-based linkage analyses were addressed in the light of positional cloning and positional candidate gene identification in humans. | 5 | Prediction of the Interface Temperature Rise in Tribochemical Polishing of CVD Diamond显示文摘Tribochemcial polishing is one of the most efficient methods for polishing CVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition) diamond film due to the use of catalytic metal.However the difficulty to control the interface temperature during polishing process often results in low material removal because of the unstable contact process. So this research investigates the contact process in the tribochemical polishing of CVD diamond film and proposes a dynamic contact model for predicting the actual contact area, the actual contact pressure, and the interface temperature in the polishing process. This model has been verified by characterizing surface metrology of the CVD diamond with Talysurf CLI2000 3D Surface Topography and measuring the polishing temperature. The theoretical and experimental results shows that the height distribution of asperities on diamond film surface in the polishing process is well evaluated by combining the height distribution of original and polished asperities. The modeled surface asperity height distribution of diamond film agrees with the actual surface metrology in polishing process. The actual contact pressure is very large due to the small actual contact area. The predicted interface temperature can reach the catalytic reaction temperature between diamond and polishing plate when the lowest rotation speed and load are 10000 r/min and 50 N, respectively, and diamond material is significantly removed. | 6 | Lensless light-field imaging through diffuser encoding显示文摘Microlens array-based light-field imaging has been one of the most commonly used and effective technologies to record high-dimensional optical signals for developing various potential high-performance applications in many fields.However,the use of a microlens array generally suffers from an intrinsic trade-off between the spatial and angular resolutions.In this paper,we concentrate on exploiting a diffuser to explore a novel modality for light-field imaging.We demonstrate that the diffuser can efficiently angularly couple incident light rays into a detected image without needing any lens.To characterize and analyse this phenomenon,we establish a diffuser-encoding light-field transmission model,in which four-dimensional light fields are mapped into two-dimensional images via a transmission matrix describing the light propagation through the diffuser.Correspondingly,a calibration strategy is designed to flexibly determine the transmission matrix,so that light rays can be computationally decoupled from a detected image with adjustable spatio-angular resolutions,which are unshackled from the resolution limitation of the sensor.The proof-of-concept approach indicates the possibility of using scattering media for lensless four-dimensional light-field recording and processing,not just for two-or three-dimensional imaging. | Zewei Cai Jiawei Chen Giancarlo Pedrini Wolfgang Osten Xiaoli Liu Xiang Peng | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Visible light-driven oxidant-free dehydrogenation of alcohols in water using porous ultrathin g-C_(3)N_(4)nanosheets显示文摘Graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4)) is a fascinating photocatalyst for solar energy utilization in photo-catalysis.Nevertheless,it often suffers from moderate photo-catalytic activity due to its low specific surface area and fast recombination rate of photogenerated electrons upon photo-excitation.Herein,we overcome the bottlenecks by constructing a porous g-C_(3)N_(4) nanosheet(PCNS)through a simple thermal oxidation etching method.Benefited from its porous layer structure,the obtained PCNS exhibits large specific surface area,efficient separation of photogenerated charge carriers,as well as high exposure of active sites.As a result,it is robust and universal in visible light-driven dehydrogenation of alcohols in water under oxidant-free condition.Almost quantitative yields(>99%)of various valuable carbonyl compounds were obtained over PCNS,while bulk g-C_(3)N_(4) was far less efficient.Moreover,the photo-catalyst was highly stable and could be facilely recovered from the aqueous system for efficient reuse.The easy preparation and excellent performance made PCNS a promising and competitive photocatalyst for the solar applications. | Wei Zhang Jiajun Wang Zewei Liu Yibing Pi Rong Tan | 2022 | Green Energy & Environment2022,7,4: | 2 |
| 9 | One-nanometer-thick platinum-based nanowires with controllable surface structures显示文摘Pt-based ultrathin nanowires (NWs) are considered as one of the most intriguing catalysts for fuel cells.However,the delicate controllability of surface structure of ultrathin NWs to regulate their catalytic performances is still a challenge.Here,two kinds of one-nanometer-thick Pt-based NWs with smooth surfaces (S-NWs) and rough surfaces (R-NWs) are demonstrated,in which the combined use of hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide and oleylamine plays an essential role,as they could form soft-templates to direct the growth of NWs.Due to its high-density of low-coordinated sites on the surface,Pt-based R-NWs exhibit higher oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activities but lower stabilities than corresponding S-NWs.Notably,Pt0.78Ni0.22 R-NWs possess the highest mass activity (1.07 A-mgpt^-1) and specific activity (1.02 mA·cm^-2) among all Pt-based NWs.After 10,000 sweeping cycles,the mass activity still exhibits 5.7-fold enhancement compared to the corresponding commercial Pt/C.This work presents a new approach to delicately control the surface structure of ultrathin Pt-based NWs as advanced ORR catalysts. | Xiaokun Fan Shuiping Luo Xixia Zhao Xiaotong Wu Zhishan Luo Min Tang Wen Chen Xing Song Zewei Quan | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,7: | 2 |
| 10 | Numerical Investigation of Boundary Grid Effect on Heat Transfer Computation of RP-3 at Supercritical Temperature of Helical Tube Wall显示文摘To get reliable computational results,the RNG k-ε turbulence model with enhanced wall treatment was validated to solve the heat transfer of supercritical RP-3 in a helically coiled tube,and models of the thermo-physical properties of RP-3 were optimally chosen.Most significantly,the grid independence was validated by two-step procedure,and the effect of boundary grids of the supercritical-temperature wall on the computational accuracy was well studied.Through adjusting boundary-layer girds' size,four regions (increased,pseudo-convergence,decreased and convergence) of the outlet temperature Tout were obtained and analyzed.The results showed that the maximum computation errors of Tout and the pressure differential between the inlet and outlet ΔP reached 20.65% and 98.15%,respectively,indicating that boundary grids have a significant influence on computation of flow and heat transfer.Based on this,a dimensionless distance from the wall-adjacent cell to the wall y+=Prw-1/1.78 (Prw denotes Wall Prandtl number) was recommended as a convergence point.The variation laws of viscous length scale y* were discussed under different structural parameters,operation parameters,and helical lengths.An explicit model of y* was proposed to calculate the height (y) of the first boundary layer grids and refine boundary grids efficiently.A modified model for coefficient of fiiction factor Cf was proposed based on Rogers's,and Nusselt number Nu was proposed based on an analogy of momentum and heat transfer.The above models about y*,Cf and Nu could apply to both the entrance region and the whole tube length,and showed good performance when Reynolds number was extended to above 70 000,or whenever the outlet temperature is below or above the critical point. | LIU Shaobei BAO Zewei HUANG Weixing ZENG Tao QIAO Min MENG Jiancheng | 2021 | Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,2: | 2 |

| 18 | Fabrication and Characterization of FeNiCr Matrix-TiC Composite for Polishing CVD Diamond Film显示文摘Dynamic friction polishing (DFP) is one of the most promising methods appropriate for polishing CVD diamond film with high effciency and low cost. By this method CVD diamond film is polished through being simply pressed against a metal disc rotating at a high speed utilizing the thermochemical reaction occurring as a result of dynamic friction between them in the atmosphere. However, the relatively soft materials such as stainless steel, cast iron and nickel alloy widely used for polishing CVD diamond film are easy to wear and adhere to diamond film surface, which may further lead to low effciency and poor polishing quality. In this paper, FeNiCr matrix-TiC composite used as grinding wheel for polishing CVD diamond film was obtained by combination of mechanical alloying (MA) and spark plasma sintering (SPS). The process of ball milling, composition, density, hardness, high-temperature oxidation resistance and wear resistance of the sintered piece were analyzed. The results show that TiC was introduced in MA-SPS process and had good combination with FeNiCr matrix and even distribution in the matrix. The density of composite can be improved by mechanical alloying. The FeNiCr matrix-TiC composite obtained at 1273 K was found to be superior to at 1173 K sintering in hardness, high-temperature oxidation resistance and wearability. | 20 | A population genetics model of linkage disequilibrium in admixed populations显示文摘Understanding linkage disequilibrium (LD) created in admixed population and the rate of decay in the disequilibrium over evolution is an important subject in population genetics theory and in disease gene mapping in human populations. The present study represents the theoretical investigation of effects of gene frequencies, levels of LD and admixture proportions of donor populations on the evolutionary dynamics of the LD of the admixed population. We examined the conditions under which the admixed population reached linkage equilibrium or the peak level of the LD. The study reveals the inappropriateness in approximating the dynamics of the LD generated by population admixture by the commonly used formula in literature. An appropriate equation for the dynamics isproposed. The distinct feature of the newly suggested formula is that the value of the nonlinear component of the LD remains constant in the first generation of the population evolution.
