2The first all-season sample set for mapping global land cover with Landsat-8 data显示文摘We report the world's first all-season training and validation sample sets for global land cover classification with Landsat-8 data.Prior to this,such samples were only available at a single date primarily from the growing season.It is unknown how much limitation such a single-date sample has to mapping global land cover in other seasons of the year.To answer this question,we selected available Landsat-8 images from four seasons and collected training and validation samples from them.We compared the performances of training samples in different seasons using Random Forest algorithm.We found that the use of training samples from any individual season would result in the best overall classification accuracy when validated by samples in the same season.The global overall accuracy from combined best seasonal results was 67.2% when classifying the 11 Level-1 classes in the Finer Resolution Observation and Monitoring of Global Land Cover(FROM-GLC) classification system.The use of training samples from all seasons(named all-season training sample set hereafter) produced an overall accuracy of 67.0%.We also tested classification within 10° latitude 60° longitude zones using all-season training subsample within each zone and obtained an overall accuracy of 70.2%.This indicates that properly grouped subsamples in space can help improve classification accuracies.All the results in this study seem to suggest that it is possible to use an all-season training sample set to reach global optimality with universal applicability in classifying images acquired at any time of a year for global land cover mapping.Congcong Li Peng Gong Jie Wang Zhiliang Zhu Gregory S. 3Annual 30-m land use/land cover maps of China for 1980–2015 from the integration of AVHRR, MODIS and Landsat data using the BFAST algorithm显示文摘Annual land use land cover(LULC)change information at medium spatial resolution(i.e.at 30 m)is required in numerous subjects,such as biophysical modelling,land management and global change studies.Annual LULC information,however,is usually not available at continental or national scale due to reasons such as insufficient remote sensing data coverage or lack of computational capabilities.Here we integrate high temporal resolution and coarse spatial resolution satellite images(i.e.,Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)and Global Inventory Modelling and Mapping Studies(GIMMS)normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI))with high spatial resolution datasets(China’s Land-Use/cover Datasets(CLUDs)derived from 30-meter Landsat TM/ETM+/OLI)to generate reliable annual nominal 30 m LULC maps for the whole of China between 1980 and 2015.We also test the performance of a statistical based change detection algorithm(Breaks for Additive Seasonal and Trend),originally designed for tracking forest change,in classifying all-type LULC change.As a result,a nominal 30 m annual land use/land cover datasets(CLUD-A)from 1980 to 2015 was developed for the whole China.The mapping results were assessed with a change sample dataset,a regional annual validation sample set and a three-year China sample set.Of the detected change years,75.61%matched the exact time of conversion within±1 year.Annual mapping results provided a detail process of urbanization,deforestation,afforestation,water and cropland dynamics over the past 36 years.The consistent characterization of land change dynamics for China can be further used in scientific research and to support land management for policy-makers.Yidi XU Le YU Dailiang PENG Jiyao ZHAO Yuqi CHENG Xiaoxuan LIU Wei LI Ran MENG Xinliang XU Peng GONG 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,9:12

5Hybrid coordinated strategy of downlink coordinated multi-point transmission显示文摘Coordinated multi-point(CoMP) transmission is put forward in the long term evolution-advanced(LTE-A) system to improve both average and cell-edge throughput. CoMP-joint processing(JP) scheme can get a larger cell-edge throughput and a lower bit error rate(BER) than the CoMP-coordinated beamforming(CB) scheme, but it also has higher complexity due to data sharing. A hybrid coordinated strategy with parameter α, which indicates the proportion of users employing the CoMP-JP scheme,is proposed to apply the CoMP-JP scheme to improve the poorer communication quality of cell edge and employ the CoMP-CB scheme for other users to enhance average throughput and spectral efficiency. This paradigm selects users defined by the certain threshold of signal to interference plus noise power ratio(SINR)corresponding to the parameter α to the CoMP-JP scheme. This paper compares the BER performance between the block diagonalization(BD) based precoding and the linear precoders by maximizing signal to leakage and noise ratio(SLNR), and also indicates that the SLNR based precoding algorithm gets lower BER than the BD based precoding algorithm with certain signal-to-noise ratios(SNRs). 6Zebrafish hhex-null mutant develops an intrahepatic intestinal tube due to de-repression of cdx1b and pdx1显示文摘The hepatopancreatic duct (HPD) system links the liver and pancreas to the intestinal tube and is composed of the extrahepatic biliary duct, gallbladder, and pancreatic duct. Haematopoietically expressed-homeobox (Hhex) protein plays an essential role in the establishment of HPD;however, the molecular mechanism remains elusive. Here, we show that zebrafish hhex-null mutants fail to develop the HPD system characterized by lacking the biliary marker Annexin A4 and the HPD marker sox9b. The hepatobiliary duct part of the mutant HPD system is replaced by an intrahepatic intestinal tube characterized by expressing the intestinal marker fatty acid-binding protein 2a (fabp2a). Cell lineage analysis showed that this intrahepatic intestinal tube is not originated from hepatocytes or cholangiocytes. Further analysis revealed that cdx1b and pdx1 are expressed ectopically in the intrahepatic intestinal tube and knockdown of cdx1b and pdx1 could restore the expression of sox9b in the mutant. Chromatin-immunoprecipitation analysis showed that Hhex binds to the promoters of pdx1 and cdx1b genes to repress their expression. 7Using a global reference sample set and a cropland map for area estimation in China显示文摘A technically transparent and freely available reference sample set for validation of global land cover mapping was recently established to assess the accuracies of land cover maps with multiple resolutions.This sample set can be used to estimate areas because of its equal-area hexagon-based sampling design.The capabilities of these sample set-based area estimates for cropland were investigated in this paper.A 30-m cropland map for China was consolidated using three thematic maps(cropland,forest and wetland maps)to reduce confusion between cropland and forest/wetland.We compared three area estimation methods using the sample set and the 30 m cropland map.The methods investigated were:(1)pixel counting from a complete coverage map,(2)direct estimation from reference samples,and(3)model-assisted estimation combining the map with samples.Our results indicated that all three methods produced generally consistent estimates which agreed with cropland area measured from an independent national land use dataset.Areas estimated from the reference sample set were less biased by comparing with a National Land Use Dataset of China(NLUD-C).This study indicates that the reference sample set can be used as an alternative source to estimate areas over large regions.YULe LI XueCao LI CongCong ZHAO YuanYuan NIU ZhenGuo HUANG HuaBing WANG Jie CHENG YuQi LU Hui SI YaLi YU ChaoQing FU HaoHuan GONG Peng 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,2:1
8Identification of Rice Al-responsive Genes by Semi-quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction using Sulfite Reductase as a Novel Endogenous Control显示文摘Based on the evidence that Al resistance is an inducible process and rice is an Al-resistant crop,identification of Al-responsive genes from rice may help to further clone Al-resistant genes in plants.Semi-quantitative and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is widely applied in gene transcriptional analyses,particularly for those genes with low transcript abundance.Normalization with proper endogenous control (EC) genes is critical for these two approaches in terms of reliability and precision.We first noticed that the expression of several commonly-used EC genes was depressed under Al stress,while sulfite reductase gene (SR) was stable throughout the Al treatment.The reliability of SR as an EC gene was further tested by analyzing the expression of a number of genes in response to Al challenge.Except for the consistent results obtained for the four previously-identified genes,nine additional genes were newly defined as Al-responsive in this study.Collectively,our results suggest that SR can be used as a novel EC gene for semi-quantitative and real-time PCR analysis of Al responsive genes,and that activated transport of silicon and stimulated metabolism of carotenoid and terpenoid could be involved in Al resistance in rice plants.Jianjun Zhang Ying Yin Yuqi Wang Xinxiang Peng 2010Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,5:1
9A review of the methods used for subjective evaluation of De Qi显示文摘De Qi refers to a series of sensations experienced when acupuncture is performed at acupoints. De Qi comprises needling sensations felt by the patient, and the sensations perceived by the acupuncturist. Classical Traditional Chinese Medicine theory states that De Qi is closely related to curative effect.In modern studies, the main index that researchers have used to evaluate De Qi was the needling sensation reported by the patient. Between 1 st Aug and 31 st Oct 2014, we conducted an electronic database search of all fields in Chinese and English to select literature assessing acupuncture needle sensations. We then reviewed the methods used within these studies to evaluate De Qi. The methods included simple evaluation, and the use of a De Qi scale/questionnaire. The simple evaluation, a qualitative evaluation, was judged by typical sensations felt by the patient after needling at acupoints, such as soreness, numbness, fullness, and heaviness.This method was easy and practicable, and had been adopted widely by Chinese researchers. In contrast, the De Qi scale/questionnaire, a quantitative evaluation, had multiple compiling methods available for evaluating the intensity of De Qi. The standardization and objectification of the De Qi scale/questionnaire effectively improved the quality of studies on De Qi, thereby these scales/questionnaires have been acknowledged and applied by most researchers. 11Ellagic acid ameliorates cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury by regulating inflammation and SIRT6/TNF-α signaling显示文摘De spite cisplatin has been widely used in the treatment of various cancers,the noteworthy nephrotoxicity greatly constrained its clinical value.For this reason,finding novel targeted therapies to attenuate the nephrotoxicity of cisplatin should be pretty significant.Our previous study found that histone deacetylase sirtuin 6(SIRT6)could be an ideal target for the treatment of cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury.In this study,we explored the protective effects of ellagic acid,a natural polyphenol compound that activates SIRT6,on cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity.Pre-treatment of ellagic acid attenuated cytotoxicity of cisplatin in primary renal cells and TCMK-1 cells.Moreover,ellagic acid ameliorated renal dysfunction,apoptosis and fibrosis induced by cisplatin in mice.Furthermore,ellagic acid reduced nephrotoxicity-associated inflammatory factor interleukin(IL)-1βand IL-6 expression both in vitro and in vivo.Mechanistically,ellagic acid reversed cisplatin-reduced SIRT6 expression and diminished cisplatin-induced tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αexpression.And SIRT6 knockdown abrogated the protective effects of ellagic acid on cisplatin-induced cell apoptosis,indicating the renal-protective effects of ellagic acid are mainly dependent on ellagic acid-mediated SIRT6 activation.Our results provide preclinical rationale for using ellagic acid as a feasible and promising agent to ameliorate cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury,and support ellagic acid as a potential adjunctive therapy for future cancer treatment.Yuqi Gao Kezheng Peng Yida Wang Yannan Guo Chenye Zeng Rui Hua Qingfei Liu Xue Li Ying Qiu Zhao Wang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,6:1
12Berberine alleviates non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis partially by promoting SIRT1 deacetylation of CPT1A in mice显示文摘Background:Berberine effectively alleviates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Nevertheless,the mechanism is incompletely comprehended.It has been reported that SIRT1 mediates lipid metabolism in liver and berberine promotes the expression of SIRT1 in hepatocytes.We hypothesized that SIRT1 mediated the effect of berberine on NAFLD.Methods:The effects of berberine on NAFLD were evaluated in C57BL/6J mice fed a high-fat diet(HFD)and in mouse primary hepatocytes and cell lines exposed to palmitate.The change of fatty acid oxidation(FAO)and the activity of CPT1A were observed in HepG2 cells.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blot were employed to observe the expression of SIRT1 and lipid metabolism-related molecules.The interaction between SIRT1 and CPT1A was investigated by using co-immunoprecipitation assay in HEK293T cells.Results:Berberine treatment attenuated hepatic steatosis,reduced triglyceride(190.1611.2 lmol/g liver vs 113.667.6 lmol/g liver,P<0.001)and cholesterol(11.362.5 lmol/g liver vs 6.360.4 lmol/g liver,P<0.001)concentration in the liver,and improved lipid and glucose metabolism disorders compared with the HFD group.The expression of SIRT1 was reduced in the liver of NAFLD patients and mouse models.Berberine increased the expression of SIRT1 and promoted the protein level of CPT1A and its activity in HepG2 cells.SIRT1 overexpression mimicked the effect of berberine on reducing triglyceride levels in HepG2 cells,whereas SIRT1 knock-down attenuated the effect of berberine.Mechanistically,berberine increased the expression of SIRT1.SIRT1 deacetylated CPT1A at the Lys675 site,which suppressed its ubiquitin-dependent degradation,thereby promoting FAO and alleviating non-alcoholic liver steatosis.Conclusions:Berberine promoted SIRT1 deacetylation of CPT1A at the Lys675 site,which reduced the ubiquitin-dependent degradation of CPT1A and ameliorated non-alcoholic liver steatosis.Peng Wang Ruikai Li Yuqi Li Siwei Tan Jie Jiang Huiling Liu Xiuqing Wei 2023Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1:0
13Immediate analgesic effect of needling acupoints(bilateral De Qi vs unilateral De Qi)on primary dysmenorrhea:a multi-center,randomized,controlled trail显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effect of needling acupoints(bilateral vs unilateral) with De Qi using data collected from 501 primary dysmenorrhea(PD) patients participating in multi-center, randomized,controlled trail.METHODS: De Qi was defined as at least one of the feelings in soreness, numbness, fullness or heaviness at the acupoints when stimulated with needles. The 501 patients were grouped in 3 groups in terms of De Qi or not De Qi in one side(unilateral)or both sides(bilateral) of the body: bilateral De Qi group, unilateral De Qi group, and non-De Qi group. The abdominal pains were measured using visual analog scale(VAS).RESULTS: In 501 patients, 472 acquired De Qi at unilateral acupoints, 24 De Qi at bilateral acupoint,and 5 had no De Qi at any acupoint. The data of non-De Qi group was excluded as the sample was less than 5% of that in the bilateral De Qi group.There was significant difference in the VAS before and after treatment between unilateral and bilateral De Qi group(P < 0.01). 15Low Trap Density Para-F Substituted 2D PEA_(2)PbI_(4)(X=Cl,Br,I)Single Crystals with Tunable Optoelectrical Properties and High Sensitive X-Ray Detector Performance显示文摘Exploring halogen engineering is of great significance for reducing the density of defect states in crystals of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites and hence improving the crystal quality.Herein,high-quality single crystals of PEA_(2)PbI_(4)(X=CI,Br,I)and their para-F(p-F)substitution analogs are prepared using the facile solution method to study the effects of both p-F substitution and halogen anion engineering.After p-F substitution,the triclinic PEA_(2)PbX_(4)(X=Cl,Br)and cubic PEA_(2)PbX_(4)(X=I)crystals unifies to monoclinic crystal structure for p-F-PEA_(2)PbX_(4)(X=Cl,Br,I)crystals.The p-F substitution and halogen engineering,together with crystal structure variation,enable the tunability of optoelectrical properties.Experimentally,after the p-F substitution,the energy levels are lowered with increased Fermi levels,and the bandgaps of p-F-PEA_(2)PbX_(4)(X=Cl,Br,I)are slightly reduced.Beneftting from the enhancement of the charge transfer and the reduced trap density by p-F substitution and halogen anion engineering,the average carrier lifetime of the p-F-PEA_(2)PbI_(4)is obviously reduced.Compared with PEA_(2)PbI_(4)the X-ray detector based on p-F-PEA_(2)PbI_(4)single crystals exhibits higher radiation stability under high-dose X-ray irradiation,implying long-term operando stability.Jiayu Di Haojin Li Li Chen Siyu Zhang Yinhui Hu Kai Sun Bo Peng Jie Su Xue Zhao Yuqi Fan Zhenhua Lin Yue Hao Peng Gao Kui Zhao Jingjing Chang 2023Research2023,,1:0

17High-starchy carbohydrate diet aggravates NAFLD by increasing fatty acids influx mediated by NOX2显示文摘Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a high-incidence lipid disorder that affects more than a quarter of the population worldwide,and dietary intervention is the recognized treatment.Starch is the main component of staple foods that are consumed daily,and the effects,metabolic pathway,and molecular mechanism of starch in the context of NAFLD remain unclear.Our study showed that a high-starch carbohydrate diet(HCD)led to the occurrence and exacerbation of NAFLD in mice.Transcriptomics and metabonomic analyses showed that the increased fatty acid influx mediated by NADPH oxidase 2(NOX2)exacerbated NAFLD.Knocking down NOX2 specifically alleviated HCD-induced NAFLD in vivo and in vitro.Moreover,the large amounts of ROS produced by NOX2 further exacerbated insulin resistance and increased lipolysis in perirenal white adipose tissue(periWAT),thereby providing fatty acids for hepatic lipid synthesis.In addition,the interaction between AMPKα1 and p47phox was the pathway that mediated the high expression of NOX2 induced by a HCD.Our study systematically demonstrated the effect of a HCD on NAFLD.Elevated fatty acid influx is a unique molecular regulatory pathway that mediates HCD-induced NAFLD exacerbation,which is different from the effect of simple sugars.Additionally,NOX2 was suggested to be a specific and effective drug target for NAFLD.Yuqi Gao Rui Hua Kezheng Peng Yuemiao Yin Chenye Zeng Yannan Guo Yida Wang Liyuan Li Xue Li Ying Qiu Zhao Wang 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,4:0
18Effects of Maillard reaction and its product AGEs on aging and age-related diseases显示文摘Maillard reaction(MR)is a non-enzymatic browning reaction commonly seen in food processing,which occurs between reducing sugars and compounds with amino groups.Despite certain advantages based on Maillard reaction products(MRPs)found in some food for health and storage application have appeared,however,the MR occurring in human physiological environment can produce advanced glycation end products(AGEs)by non-enzymatic modification of macromolecules such as proteins,lipids and nucleic acid,which could change the structure and functional activity of the molecules themselves.In this review,we take AGEs as our main object,on the one hand,discuss physiologic aging,that is,age-dependent covalent cross-linking and modification of proteins such as collagen that occur in eyes and skin containing connective tissue.On the other hand,pathological aging associated with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases,neurodegenerative diseases,diabetes and diabetic nephropathy,cardiovascular diseases and bone degenerative diseases have been mainly proposed.Based on the series of adverse effects of accelerated aging and disease pathologies caused by MRPs,the possible harm caused by some MR can be slowed down or inhibited by artificial drug intervention,dietary pattern and lifestyle control.It also stimulates people's curiosity to continue to explore the potential link between the MR and human aging and health,which should be paid more attention to for the development of life sciences.Huan Peng Yuqi Gao Chenye Zeng Rui Hua Yannan Guo Yida Wang Zhao Wang 2024Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3:0

20Overexpressed SIRT6 ameliorates doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity and potentiates the therapeutic efficacy through metabolic remodeling显示文摘Since the utilization of anthracyclines in cancer therapy, severe cardiotoxicity has become a major obstacle. The major challenge in treating cancer patients with anthracyclines is minimizing cardiotoxicity without compromising antitumor efficacy. Herein, histone deacetylase SIRT6 expression was reduced in plasma of patients treated with anthracyclines-based chemotherapy regimens. Furthermore,overexpression of SIRT6 alleviated doxorubicin-induced cytotoxicity in cardiomyocytes, and potentiated cytotoxicity of doxorubicin in multiple cancer cell lines. Moreover, SIRT6 overexpression ameliorated doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity and potentiated antitumor efficacy of doxorubicin in mice, suggesting that SIRT6 overexpression could be an adjunctive therapeutic strategy during doxorubicin treatment.Mechanistically, doxorubicin-impaired mitochondria led to decreased mitochondrial respiration and ATP production. And SIRT6 enhanced mitochondrial biogenesis and mitophagy by deacetylating and inhibiting Sgk1. Thus, SIRT6 overexpression coordinated metabolic remodeling from glycolysis to mitochondrial respiration during doxorubicin treatment, which was more conducive to cardiomyocyte metabolism, thus protecting cardiomyocytes but not cancer cells against doxorubicin-induced energy deficiency.
