| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 2 | Trends in Lipids Level and Dyslipidemia among Chinese Adults, 2002-2015显示文摘Objective To investigate the trends of lipid profiles and dyslipidemia among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Methods Data were collected from three nationally representative cross-sectional surveys.Fasting venous blood samples were collected and serum lipids were tested by biochemical analysis and enzymatic determination.Lipid levels and the prevalence of dyslipidemia among adults were analyzed with complex sampling weighting adjustment for age and gender.Results The weighted means of TC, TG, and LDL-c significantly increased linearly from 3.93, 1.12, and 2.12 mmol/L in 2002 to 4.59, 1.41, and 2.78 mmol/L in 2010 and then to 4.63, 1.47, and 2.87 mmol/L in 2015, respectively;by contrast, HDL-c levels decreased significantly from 1.30 mmol/L to 1.26 mmol/L over the same period.Similar trends in mean non-HDL-c and lipid-related ratios were observed.The weighted dyslipidemia prevalence linearly increased;in particular, hypercholesterolemia increased from 1.6% to 5.6% and then to 5.8%, hypertriglyceridemia increased from 5.7% to 13.6% and then to 15.0%, low HDL-c increased from 18.8% to 35.5% and then to 24.9%, and high LDL-c increased from 1.3% to 5.6% and then to 7.2%(P for trend <0.001).Conclusion Dyslipidemia increased among Chinese adults from 2002 to 2015.Development of a comprehensive strategy to decrease lipid levels in this population is urgently required. | SONG Peng Kun MAN Qing Qing LI Hong PANG Shao Jie JIA Shan Shan LI Yu Qian HE Li ZHAO Wen Hua ZHANG Jian | 2019 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,8: | 45 |

| 4 | New incompatible pair of TCM:Epimedii Folium combined with Psoraleae Fructus induces idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity under immunological stress conditions显示文摘Epimedii Folium(EF)combined with Psoraleae Fructus(PF)is a common modern preparation,but liver injury caused by Chinese patent medicine preparations containing EF and PF has been frequently reported in recent years.Zhuangguguanjiewan pills(ZGW),which contain EF and PF,could induce immune idiosyncratic liver injury according to clinical case reports and a nonhepatotoxic dose of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)model.This present study evaluated the liver injury induced by EF or PF alone or in combination and investigated the related mechanism by using the LPS model.Liver function indexes and pathological results showed that either EF or PF alone or in combination led to liver injury in normal rats;however,EF or PF alone could lead to liver injury in LPS-treated rats.Moreover,EF combined with PF could induce a greater degree of injury than that caused by EF or PF alone in LPS-treated rats.Furthermore,EF or PF alone or in combination enhanced the LPS-stimulated inflammatory cytokine production,implying that IL-1β,which is processed and released by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome,is a specific indicator of EF-induced immune idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity.Thus,EF may induce liver injury through enhancing the LPS-mediated proinflammatory cytokine production and activating the NLRP3 inflammasome.In addition,the metabolomics analysis results showed that PF affected more metabolites in glycerophospholipid and sphingolipid metabolic pathways compared with EF in LPS model,suggesting that PF increased the responsiveness of the liver to LPS or other inflammatory mediators via modulation of multiple metabolic pathways.Therefore,EF and PF combination indicates traditional Chinese medicine incompatibility,considering that it induces idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity under immunological stress conditions. | Yuan Gao Zhilei Wang Jinfa Tang Xiaoyi Liu Wei Shi Nan Qin Xiaoyan Wang Yu Pang Ruisheng Li Yaming Zhang Jiabo Wang Ming Niu Zhaofang Bai Xiaohe Xiao | 2020 | Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,1: | 32 |

| 7 | Synthesis of rod-like metal-organic framework(MOF-5)nanomaterial for efficient removal of U(Ⅵ):batch experiments and spectroscopy study显示文摘With the widespread application of radionuclide235 U(Ⅵ), it is inevitable that part of U(Ⅵ) is released into the natural environment. The potential toxicity and irreversibility impact on the natural environment has become one of the most forefront pollution problems in nuclear energy utilization. In this work, rod-like metal-organic framework(MOF-5) nanomaterial was synthesized by a solvothermal method and applied to efficiently adsorb U(Ⅵ) from aqueous solutions. The batch experimental results showed that the sorption of U(Ⅵ) on MOF-5 was strongly dependent on p H and independent of ionic strength, indicating that the dominant interaction mechanism was inner-sphere surface complexation and electrostatic interaction. The maximum sorption capacity of U(Ⅵ) on MOF-5 was 237.0 mg/g at p H 5.0 and T = 298 K, and the sorption equilibrium reached within 5 min. The thermodynamic parameters indicated that the removal of U(Ⅵ) on MOF-5 was a spontaneous and endothermic process. Additionally, the FT-IR and XPS analyses implied that the high sorption capacity of U(Ⅵ) on MOF-5 was mainly attributed to the abundant oxygen-containing functional groups(i.e., CAO and C@O). | 8 | Multimorbidity patterns and association with mortality in 0.5 million Chinese adults显示文摘Background:Few studies have assessed the relationship between multimorbidity patterns and mortality risk in the Chinese population.We aimed to identify multimorbidity patterns and examined the associations of multimorbidity patterns and the number of chronic diseases with the risk of mortality among Chinese middle-aged and older adults.Methods:We used data from the China Kadoorie Biobank and included 512,723 participants aged 30 to 79 years.Multimorbidity was defined as the presence of two or more of the 15 chronic diseases collected by self-report or physical examination at baseline.Multimorbidity patterns were identified using hierarchical cluster analysis.Cox regression was used to estimate the associations of multimorbidity patterns and the number of chronic diseases with all-cause and cause-specific mortality.Results:Overall,15.8%of participants had multimorbidity.The prevalence of multimorbidity increased with age and was higher in urban than rural participants.Four multimorbidity patterns were identified,including cardiometabolic multimorbidity(diabetes,coronary heart disease,stroke,and hypertension),respiratory multimorbidity(tuberculosis,asthma,and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease),gastrointestinal and hepatorenal multimorbidity(gallstone disease,chronic kidney disease,cirrhosis,peptic ulcer,and cancer),and mental and arthritis multimorbidity(neurasthenia,psychiatric disorder,and rheumatoid arthritis).During a median of 10.8 years of follow-up,49,371 deaths occurred.Compared with participants without multimorbidity,cardiometabolic multimorbidity(hazard ratios[HR]=2.20,95%confidence intervals[CI]:2.14-2.26)and respiratory multimorbidity(HR=2.13,95%CI:1.97-2.31)demonstrated relatively higher risks of mortality,followed by gastrointestinal and hepatorenal multimorbidity(HR=1.33,95%CI:1.22-1.46).The mortality risk increased by 36%(HR=1.36,95%CI:1.35-1.37)with every additional disease.Conclusion:Cardiometabolic multimorbidity and respiratory multimorbidity posed the highest threat on mortality risk and deserved particular attention in Chinese adults. | Junning Fan Zhijia Sun Canqing Yu Yu Guo Pei Pei Ling Yang Yiping Chen Huaidong Du Dianjianyi Sun Yuanjie Pang Jun Zhang Simon Gilbert Daniel Avery Junshi Chen Zhengming Chen Jun Lyu Liming Li On Behalf of the China Kadoorie Biobank Collaborative Group | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,,6: | 17 |

| 10 | Kanglexin,a novel anthraquinone compound,protects against myocardial ischemic injury in mice by suppressing NLRP3 and pyroptosis显示文摘Pyroptosis is a form of inflammatory cell death that could be driven by the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation following myocardial infarction(MI).Emerging evidence suggests the therapeutic potential for ameliorating MI-induced myocardial damages by targeting NLRP3 and pyroptosis.In this study,we investigated the myocardial protection effect of a novel anthraquinone compound(4,5-dihydroxy-7-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone-2-ethyl succinate)named Kanglexin(KLX)in vivo and in vitro.Male C57BL/6 mice were pre-treated either with KLX(20,40 mg·kg^?1per day,intragastric gavage)or vehicle for 7 consecutive days prior to ligation of coronary artery to induce permanent MI.KLX administration dose-dependently reduced myocardial infarct size and lactate dehydrogenase release and improved cardiac function as compared to vehicle-treated mice 24 h after MI.We found that MI triggered NLRP3 inflammasome activation leading to conversion of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and IL-18 into their active mature forms in the heart,which could expand the infarct size and drive cardiac dysfunction.We also showed that MI induced pyroptosis,as evidenced by increased DNA fragmentation,mitochondrial swelling,and cell membrane rupture,as well as increased levels of pyroptosis-related proteins,including gasdermin D,N-terminal GSDMD,and cleaved caspase-1.All these detrimental alterations were prevented by KLX.In hypoxia-or lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-treated neonatal mouse ventricular cardiomyocytes,we showed that KLX(10μM)decreased the elevated levels of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling-and propidium iodide-positive cells,and pyroptosis-related proteins.We conclude that KLX prevents MI-induced cardiac damages and cardiac dysfunction at least partly through attenuating NLRP3 and subsequent cardiomyocyte pyroptosis,and it is worthy of more rigorous investigations for its potential for alleviating ischemic heart disease. | Yu Bian Xin Li Ping Pang Xue-ling Hu Shu-ting Yu Yi-ning Liu Xin Li Ning Wang Jin-hui Wang Wei Xiao Wei-jie Du Bao-feng Yang | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,3: | 15 |

| 12 | Grape Seed Proanthocyanidin Extract Alleviates Arsenic-induced Oxidative Reproductive Toxicity in Male Mice显示文摘Objective To determine the ability of grape seed proanthocyanidin extract(GSPE) in alleviating arsenic-induced reproductive toxicity. Methods Sixty male Kunming mice received the following treatments by gavage: normal saline solution(control); arsenic trioxide(ATO; 4 mg/kg); GSPE(400 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(100 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(200 mg/kg) and ATO+GSPE(400 mg/kg). Thereafter, the mice were sacrificed and weighed, and the testis was examined for pathological changes. Nuclear factor(erythroid-derived 2)-like 2(Nrf2), heme oxygenase 1(HO1), glutathione S-transferase(GST), NAD(P)H dehydrogenase, and quinone 1(NQO1) expression in the testis was detected by real-time PCR. Superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), total antioxidative capability(T-AOC), malondialdehyde(MDA), 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHd G), and reproductive indexes were analyzed. Results ATO-treated mice showed a significantly decreased sperm count and testis somatic index and activity levels of SOD, GSH, and T-AOC than control group. Compared to the ATO-treated group, ATO +GSPE group showed recovery of the measured parameters. Mice treated with ATO+high-dose GSPE showed the highest level of m RNA expression of Nrf2, HO, NQO1, and GST. | 18 | Diversity and Geographical Pattern of Altitudinal Belts in the Hengduan Mountains in China显示文摘This paper analyses the diversity and spatial pattern of the altitudinal belts in the Hengduan Mountains in China.A total of 7 types of base belts and 26 types of altitudinal belts are identified in the study region.The main altitudinal belt lines,such as forest line,the upper limit of dark coniferous forest and snow line,have similar latitudinal and longitudinal spatial patterns,namely,arched quadratic curve model with latitudes and concave quadratic curve model along longitudinal direction.These patterns can be together called as 'Hyperbolic-paraboloid model',revealing the complexity and speciality of the environment and ecology in the study region.This result further validates the hypnosis of a common quadratic model for spatial pattern of mountain altitudinal belts proposed by the authors.The spatial pattern of altitudinal belts is closely related with moisture-related exposure effect in the Hengduan Mountains.Different combinations (spectra) of altitudinal belts and different base belt types appear in windward and leeward flanks and even in the same flanks of different ranges.This is closely related with the parallel mountain ranges of the Hengduan Mountains,which,at nearly right angle with the moving direction of prevailing moisture-laden air masses from west and east,hold up the warm and humid monsoon wind from moving into the core region and result in different moisture conditions in windward and leeward flanks.However,how to quantitatively describe the moisture-related exposure effect needs further study.In addition,the data quality and data accuracy at present also affect to some extent the result of quantitative modeling and should be improved with RS/GIS in the future. | YAO Yonghui ZHANG Baiping HAN Fang, PANG Yu | 2010 | Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,2: | 11 |

| 20 | Value of early diagnosis of sepsis complicated with acute kidney injury by renal contrast-enhanced ultrasound显示文摘BACKGROUND The incidence of acute kidney injury(AKI)in patients with sepsis is high,and the prognosis of patients with septic AKI is poor.The early diagnosis and treatment of septic AKI is of great significance in improving the prognosis of patients with sepsis.AIM To explore the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS),serum creatinine(Scr),and other indicators in the early diagnosis of septic AKI.METHODS Ninety patients with sepsis during hospitalization at Tongji Hospital of Tongji University were recruited as subjects.Each patient was recorded with relevant basic data,clinical indicators,and CEUS results.The patients were divided into AKI group and non-AKI group according to the results of renal function diagnosis after 48 h.On the 7th day,the renal function of the non-AKI group was re-evaluated and the patients were further divided into AKI subgroup and non-AKI subgroup.The differences of the indicators in different groups were compared,and the diagnostic value of each indicator and their combination for septic AKI was analyzed.RESULTS Systemic inflammatory response score(2.58±0.75),blood lactic acid(3.01±1.33 mmol/L),Scr(141.82±27.19μmol/L),blood urea nitrogen(4.41±0.81mmol/L),and rise time(10.23±2.63 s)in the AKI group were higher than those in the non-AKI group.Peak intensity(PI)(10.78±3.98 dB)and wash in slope(WIS)(1.07±0.53 dB/s)were lower than those in the non-AKI group.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The PI(12.83±3.77 dB)and WIS(1.22±0.68 dB/s)in the AKI subgroup were lower than those in the non-AKI subgroup,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The area under curve(AUC)of Scr for the diagnosis of septic AKI was 0.825 with a sensitivity of 56.76% and a specificity of 100%.The AUCs of WIS and PI(0.928 and 0.912)were higher than those of Scr.Their sensitivities were 100%,but the specificities were 71.70% and 75.47%.The AUC of the combination of three indicators for the diagnosis of septic AKI was 0.943,which was significantly higher than the AUC diagnosed by each single indicator.The sensitivity was 94.59%,and the specificity was 81.13%.CONCLUSION The combination of Scr,PI,and WIS can improve the diagnostic accuracy of septic AKI.PI and WIS are expected to predict the occurrence of early septic AKI. | Xiu-Yan Wang Yan-Ping Pang Tian Jiang Shuo Wang Jiang-Tao Li Bao-Min Shi Chen Yu | 2019 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2019,7,23: | 10 |
