| 1 | 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). | 2 | Effects of maize-soybean relay intercropping on crop nutrient uptake and soil bacterial community显示文摘Maize-soybean relay intercropping is an effective approach to improve the crop yield and nutrient use efficiency,which is widely practiced by farmers in southwest of China.To elucidate the characteristics of different planting patterns on crop nutrient uptake,soil chemical properties,and soil bacteria community in maize-soybean relay intercropping systems,we conducted a field experiment in 2015–2016 with single factor treatments,including monoculture maize(MM),monoculture soybean(MS),maize-soybean relay intercropping(IMS),and fallow(CK).The results showed that the N uptake of maize grain increased in IMS compared with MM.Compared with MS,the yield and uptake of N,P,and K of soybean grain were increased by 25.5,24.4,9.6,and 22.4%in IMS,respectively,while the N and K uptakes in soybean straw were decreased in IMS.The soil total nitrogen,available phosphorus,and soil organic matter contents were significantly higher in IMS than those of the corresponding monocultures and CK.Moreover,the soil protease,soil urease,and soil nitrate reductase activities in IMS were higher than those of the corresponding monocultures and CK.The phyla Proteobacteria,Acidobacteria,Chloroflexi,and Actinobacteria dominated in all treatments.Shannon’s index in IMS was higher than that of the corresponding monocultures and CK.The phylum Proteobacteria proportion was positively correlated with maize soil organic matter and soybean soil total nitrogen content,respectively.These results indicated that the belowground interactions increased the crop nutrient(N and P)uptake and soil bacterial community diversity,both of which contributed to improved soil nutrient management for legume-cereal relay intercropping systems. | FU Zhi-dan ZHOU Li CHEN Ping DU Qing PANG Ting SONG Chun WANG Xiao-chun LIU Wei-guo YANG Wen-yu YONG Tai-wen | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2019,18,9: | 17 |
| 3 | Kanglexin,a novel anthraquinone compound,protects against myocardial ischemic injury in mice by suppressing NLRP3 and pyroptosis显示文摘Pyroptosis is a form of inflammatory cell death that could be driven by the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation following myocardial infarction(MI).Emerging evidence suggests the therapeutic potential for ameliorating MI-induced myocardial damages by targeting NLRP3 and pyroptosis.In this study,we investigated the myocardial protection effect of a novel anthraquinone compound(4,5-dihydroxy-7-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone-2-ethyl succinate)named Kanglexin(KLX)in vivo and in vitro.Male C57BL/6 mice were pre-treated either with KLX(20,40 mg·kg^?1per day,intragastric gavage)or vehicle for 7 consecutive days prior to ligation of coronary artery to induce permanent MI.KLX administration dose-dependently reduced myocardial infarct size and lactate dehydrogenase release and improved cardiac function as compared to vehicle-treated mice 24 h after MI.We found that MI triggered NLRP3 inflammasome activation leading to conversion of interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and IL-18 into their active mature forms in the heart,which could expand the infarct size and drive cardiac dysfunction.We also showed that MI induced pyroptosis,as evidenced by increased DNA fragmentation,mitochondrial swelling,and cell membrane rupture,as well as increased levels of pyroptosis-related proteins,including gasdermin D,N-terminal GSDMD,and cleaved caspase-1.All these detrimental alterations were prevented by KLX.In hypoxia-or lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-treated neonatal mouse ventricular cardiomyocytes,we showed that KLX(10μM)decreased the elevated levels of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling-and propidium iodide-positive cells,and pyroptosis-related proteins.We conclude that KLX prevents MI-induced cardiac damages and cardiac dysfunction at least partly through attenuating NLRP3 and subsequent cardiomyocyte pyroptosis,and it is worthy of more rigorous investigations for its potential for alleviating ischemic heart disease. | Yu Bian Xin Li Ping Pang Xue-ling Hu Shu-ting Yu Yi-ning Liu Xin Li Ning Wang Jin-hui Wang Wei Xiao Wei-jie Du Bao-feng Yang | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,3: | 15 |

| 5 | Culture and Identification of Human Amniotic Mesenchymal Stem Cells显示文摘Objective To establish the method of isolation, purification, and identification of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSCs). Methods hAMSCs were isolated from human amniotic membrane by trypsin-collagenase digestion, and cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medinm/F12 medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum. Phenotypic characteristics of these cells were analyzed by means of immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. Results The cells successfully isolated from human amniotic membrane expressed representative mesenchymal cell surface markers CD44, CD90, and vimentin, but not CD45. Conclusions This study establishes a potential method for isolation of hAMSCs from human amnion, in vitro culture, and identification. | 6 | Association Between Serum Uric Acid and Prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Diagnosed using HbA1c Criteria Among Chinese Adults in Qingdao,China显示文摘Objective To determine whether elevated serum uric acid(UA)levels are associated with type 2 diabetes diagnosed using Hb A1 c levels among Chinese adults.Methods We conducted two population-based cross-sectional studies in Qingdao in China in 2006 and 2009.A total of 6894(39.4% men)subjects aged 35-74 years were included in the data analysis.Newly diagnosed diabetes was defined as Hb A1 c level of ≥6.5%,and prediabetes was classified as Hb A1 c level between 5.7% and 6.4% according to the International Diabetes Federation criteria.Multivariate logistic regression was employed to assess the association between UA and prevalence of type 2 diabetes defined using Glycated hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1 c levels.Results Subjects with prediabetes had higher UA levels than those with normal glucose tolerance,newly diagnosed diabetes,and known diabetes,with corresponding values of 325.1(82.5)μmol/L,310.9(84.2)μmol/L,291.3(81.7)μmol/L,305.2(83.6)μmol/L,respectively(P<0.001 for all comparisons).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that UA was a possible predictor for the prevalence of type 2 diabetes diagnosed using Hb A1 c levels,and the second quartile of UA levels had a higher odds ratio(OR:4.088;95% CI:2.900-5.765)for Hb A1 c than the other quartiles after adjusting for age,body mass index,sex,marital status,education,income,alcohol consumption,smoking,and cardiometabolic parameters.Conclusion Serum UA is significantly associated with type 2 diabetes diagnosed using Hb A1 c levels,independent of other cardiometabolic parameters. | XUE Bai TAN Ji Bin NING Feng SUN Jian Ping ZHANG Ke Yi LIU Li WANG Shao Jie ZHANG Dong Feng QIAO Qing PANG Zeng Chang | 2015 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,12: | 9 |
| 7 | Quality of Life in Cancer Patients with Pain in Beijing显示文摘Objective:To investigate the quality of life(QOL) of cancer pain patients in Beijing,and explore the effect of cancer pain control on patients' QOL.Methods:Self-developed demographic questionnaire,numeric rating scale and SF-36 questionnaire were used together among 643 cancer pain patients in 28 Grade 2nd to 3rd general hospitals and 2 Grade 3rd cancer hospitals.Results:The SF-36 eight dimensions scores ranged from 31.75 to 57.22 in these cancer pain patients.The t test and Wilcoxon rank sum test were used to compare the QOL between pain controlled(PC) group and pain uncontrolled(PUC) group,and the results showed that patients in PC group had the higher QOL scores in 6 areas of SF-36(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression results found that pain management satisfaction scores(P<0.001),family average personal monthly income(P=0.029),current receiving chemotherapy(P=0.009) and cancer stage(P<0.001) were the predictors to cancer pain controlled results.Conclusion: Cancer patients with pain in Beijing had poor QOL. A surface with micro- or nano-roughness is formed because SiO2 nanoparticles are uniformly and firmly adhered on the backbone of the filter paper by the cured epoxy resin. Furthermore, the surface energy is significantly reduced because of introducing octytrimethoxysilane. Such a surface structure makes the prepared film a superhydrophobic material. Due to its free-standing nature, this superhydrophobic film can be used to remove water from turbine oil by filtration. The efficiency of water removal is high (up to 94.1%), and the filtration process is driven solely by gravity without extra energy consumption. In this study, we performed a retrospective study to explore the incidence rates, mortality rates, and microbial spectrum of NIs in Beijing Chest Hospital, a tuberculosis(TB) specialized hospital in China. Our data demonstrate that the overall incidence rate of inpatients with NIs slightly decreased from 2012 to 2016, which may be associated with the implementation of hand hygiene measures, while the mortality rates associated with NI did not significantly change. | 15 | The Tibetan Plateau Surface–Atmosphere Coupling System and Its Weather and Climate Effects: The Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP) is a key area affecting forecasts of weather and climate in China and occurrences of extreme weather and climate events over the world. The China Meteorological Administration, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly initiated the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment(TIPEX-Ⅲ) in 2013, with an 8–10-yr implementation plan. Since its preliminary field measurements conducted in 2013, routine automatic sounding systems have been deployed at Shiquanhe, Gaize, and Shenzha stations in western TP, where no routine sounding observations were available previously. The observational networks for soil temperature and soil moisture in the central and western TP have also been established. Meanwhile, the plateau-scale and regional-scale boundary layer observations, cloud–precipitation microphysical observations with multiple radars and aircraft campaigns, and tropospheric–stratospheric air composition observations at multiple sites, were performed. The results so far show that the turbulent heat exchange coefficient and sensible heat flux are remarkably lower than the earlier estimations at grassland, meadow, and bare soil surfaces of the central and western TP. Climatologically, cumulus clouds over the main body of the TP might develop locally instead of originating from the cumulus clouds that propagate northward from South Asia. The TIPEX-Ⅲ observations up to now also reveal diurnal variations, macro-and microphysical characteristics, and water-phase transition mechanisms, of cumulus clouds at Naqu station. Moreover, TIPEX-Ⅲ related studies have proposed a maintenance mechanism responsible for the Asian 'atmospheric water tower' and demonstrated the effects of the TP heating anomalies on African, Asian, and North American climates. Additionally, numerical modeling studies show that the Γ distribution of raindrop size is more suitable for depicting the TP raindrop characteristics compared to the M–P distribution, the overestimation of sensible heat flux can be reduced via modifying the heat transfer parameterization over the TP, and considering climatic signals in some key areas of the TP can improve the skill for rainfall forecast in the central and eastern parts of China. | 17 | NS1-binding protein radiosensitizes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by transcriptionally suppressing c-Myc显示文摘Background:Cisplatin-based chemotherapy with concurrent radiotherapy is a standard treatment for advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).NS1-binding protein(NS1-BP),a member of the BTB-kelch protein fam-ily,has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of Hela cells by suppressing c-Myc.In the present study,we examined the potential function role of NS1-BP expression in ESCC,and particularly,the sensitivity of ESCC to radiotherapy.Methods:NS1-BP expression was examined using immunohistochemistry in two cohorts(n=98 for the training cohort;n=46 for independent validation cohort)of ESCC patients receiving cisplatin-based chemotherapy and con-current radiotherapy.Normal esophageal mucosal tissue blocks were used as a control.We also conducted a series of in vitro and in vivo experiments to examine the potential effects of over-expressing NS1-BP on ESCC cells,and particu-larly their sensitivity to ionizing irradiation.Results:In the training cohort,NS1-BP downregulation was observed in 59%(85/144)of the ESCC specimens.NS1-BP downregulation was associated with chemoradiotherapeutic resistance and shorter disease-specific survival(DSS)in both the training and validation cohorts.Over-expressing NS1-BP in cultured ESCC cells substantially increased the cellular response to irradiation both in vitro and in vivo.NS1-BP also significantly enhanced IR-induced apoptosis,and abrogated IR-induced G2/M cell-cycle arrest and ATM/Chk1 phosphorylation.Immunoprecipitation assays indicated that NS1-BP could interact with c-Myc promoter regions to inhibit its transcription.In ESCC tissues,c-Myc expression was inversely correlated with NS1-BP levels,and was associated with a shorter DSS.Conclusions:Our findings highlight the role and importance of NS1-BP in radiosensitivity of ESCC.Targeting the NS1-BP/c-Myc pathway may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for ESCC. | Yuwen Wang Jingjing Cheng Dan Xie Xiaofeng Ding Hailing Hou Xi Chen Puchun Er Furong Zhang Lujun Zhao Zhiyong Yuan Qingsong Pang Ping Wang Dong Qian | 2018 | Cancer Communications2018,38,1: | 4 |
| 18 | Association between Low-density Lipoprotein Receptor-related Protein 5 Polymorphisms and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Han Chinese:a Case-control Study显示文摘Objective To investigate the association between low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 5(LRP5) variants(rs12363572 and rs4930588) and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) in Han Chinese. Methods A total of 1842 T2 DM cases(507 newly diagnosed cases and 1335 previously diagnosed cases) and 7777 controls were included in this case-control study. PCR-RFLP was conducted to detect the genotype of the two single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs). Odds ratios(ORs) and 95% confidence intervals(95% CIs) were calculated to describe the strength of the association by logistic regression. Results In the study subjects, neither rs12363572 nor rs4930588 was significantly associated with T2 DM, even after adjusting for relevant covariates. When stratified by body mass index(BMI), the two SNPs were also not associated with T2 DM. Among the 3 common haplotypes, only haplotype TT was associated with reduced risk of T2DM(OR 0.820, 95% CI 0.732-0.919). In addition, rs12363572 was associated with BMI(P<0.001) and rs4930588 was associated with triglyceride levels(P=0.043) in 507 newly diagnosed T2 DM cases but not in healthy controls. | 20 | Effects of Cerium on Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of Zn-22%Al Vibration Damping Alloy显示文摘Using natural aging and artificial aging treatment, the effects of cerium on microstructures and mechanical properties of Zn 22%Al vibration damping alloy were studied by optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope. The results show that cerium can refine the microstructure of Zn 22%Al alloy, slow the grain growth and retain the equiaxial degree during aging.
