1Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane for the repair of radial nerve injury显示文摘In this study,we loaded human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells onto human amniotic membrane with epithelial cells to prepare nerve conduits,i.e.,a relatively closed nerve regeneration chamber.After neurolysis,the injured radial nerve was enwrapped with the prepared nerve conduit,which was fixed to the epineurium by sutures,with the cell on the inner surface of the conduit.Simultaneously,a 1.0 mL aliquot of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell suspension was injected into the distal and proximal ends of the injured radial nerve with 1.0 cm intervals.A total of1.75×107cells were seeded on the amniotic membrane.In the control group,patients received only neurolysis.At 12 weeks after cell transplantation,more than 80%of patients exhibited obvious improvements in muscular strength,and touch and pain sensations.In contrast,these improvements were observed only in 55–65%of control patients.At 8 and 12 weeks,muscular electrophysiological function in the region dominated by the injured radial nerve was significantly better in the transplantation group than the control group.After cell transplantation,no immunological rejections were observed.These findings suggest that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-loaded amniotic membrane can be used for the repair of radial nerve injury.Zhi Li Hanjiao Qin Zishan Feng Wei Liu Ye Zhou Lifeng Yang Wei Zhao Youjun Li 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,36:13
2Characterization of disinfection byproduct formation potential in 13 source waters in China显示文摘The formation potential of four trihalomethanes (THMFP) and seven haloacetic acids (HAA 7 FP) in 13 source waters taken from four major water basin areas in China was evaluated using the simulated distribution system (SDS) chlorination method.The specific ultraviolet absorbance (SUVA 254:the ratio of UV 254 to dissolved organic carbon (DOC)),which ranged between 0.9 and 5.0 L/(mg·m),showed that the organic compounds in different source waters exhibited different reactivities with chlorine.The HAA 7 FP of source waters ranged from 20 to 448 μg/L and the THMFP ranged from 29 to 259 μg/L.The HAA 7 FP concentrations were higher than the THMFP concentrations in all but one of the samples.Therefore,the risks of haloacetic acids (HAAs) should be of concern in some source waters.TCM (chloroform) and BDCM (bromodichloromethane) were the major THM constituents,while TCAA (trichloroacetic acid) and DCAA (dichloroacetic acid) were the major HAA species.Br-THM (brominated THM species) were much higher than BrHAA (brominated HAA species),and the formation of Br-DBP (Br-THM and Br-HAA) should be of concern when the bromide concentration is over 100 μg/L.Junzhi Zhang Jianwei Yu Wei An Juan Liu Yongjing Wang Youjun Chen Jia Tai Min Yang 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:13
3Mechanism of lead immobilization by oxalic acid-activated phosphate rocks显示文摘Lead (Pb) chemical fixation is an important environmental aspect for human health. Phosphate rocks (PRs) were utilized as an adsorbent to remove Pb from aqueous solution. Raw PRs and oxalic acid-activated PRs (APRs) were used to investigate the effect of chemical modification on the Pb-binding capacity in the pH range 2.0-5.0. The Pb adsorption rate of all treatments above pH 3.0 reached 90%. The Pb binding on PRs and APRs was pH-independent, except at pH 2.0 in activated treatments. The X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the raw PRs formed cerussite after reacting with the Pb solution, whereas the APRs formed pyromorphite. The Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy analysis indicated that carbonate (CO32-) in raw PRs and phosphate (PO43-) groups in APRs played an important role in the Pb-binding process. After adsorption, anomalous block-shaped particles were observed by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy data further indicated that both chemical and physical reactions occurred during the adsorption process according to the binding energy. 4An innovative flake graphite upgrading process based on HPGR,stirred grinding mill, and nanobubble column flotation显示文摘Physical upgrading of graphite is typically achieved with many stages of grinding and flotation to produce a concentrate with approximately 95% carbon grade.An innovative grinding and column flotation process has been developed for efficient graphite upgrading to substantially simplify the process flowsheet and reduce operating costs.In this process,a high-pressure grinding roller(HPGR) and a stirred mill were employed as primary comminution techniques and a nanobubble flotation column as a key separation process.The results obtained with a crystalline flake graphite sample with a carbon grade of 11.15% show that the novel process can produce a concentrate with 94.82% carbon grade and 97.89% recovery from an open circuit of one rougher and two cleaner flotation stages.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)microphotographs indicate that HPGR offers the advantage of more effective protection of graphite flakes during crushing.Grinding test results show that stirred mill could not only protect graphite flakes but also promote the efficient liberation of graphite.Compared with the traditional flotation process,nanobubble flotation can effectively recover ultrafine graphite.The new process possesses a number of important advantages over the traditional method,including substantially higher graphite recovery,greatly simplified process flowsheet,better protection of flake size,reduced reagent consumption and process costs,etc.Fangyuan Ma Dongping Tao Youjun Tao Shuyong Liu 2021International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6:9

7A genome-wide analysis of SWEET gene family in cotton and their expressions under different stresses显示文摘Background: The SWEET(Sugars will eventually be exported transporters) gene family plays multiple roles in plant physiological activities and development process. It participates in reproductive development and in the process of sugar transport and absorption, plant senescence and stress responses and plant-pathogen interaction. However,thecomprehensive analysis of SWEET genes has not been reported in cotton.Results: In this study, we identified 22, 31, 55 and 60 SWEET genes from the sequenced genomes of Gossypium arboreum, G. raimondii, G. hirsutum and G. barbadense, respectively. Phylogenetic tree analysis showed that the SWEET genes could be divided into four groups, which were further classified into 14 sub-clades. Further analysis of chromosomal location, synteny analysis and gene duplication suggested that the orthologs showed a good collinearity and segmental duplication events played a crucial role in the expansion of the family in cotton. Specific MtN3_slv domains were highly conserved between Arobidopsis and cotton by exon-intron organization and motif analysis. In addition, the expression pattern in different tissues indicated that the duplicated genes in cotton might have acquired new functions as a result of sub-functionalization or neo-funtionalization. The expression pattern of SWEET genes showed that the different genes were induced by diverse stresses. The identification and functional analysis of SWEET genes in cotton may provide more candidate genes for genetic modification.Conclusion: SWEET genes were classified into four clades in cotton. The expression patterns suggested that the duplicated genes might have experienced a functional divergence. 8Effects of soil nutrients and climate factors on belowground biomass in an alpine meadow in the source region of the Yangtze-Yellow rivers, Tibetan Plateau of China显示文摘Improving our knowledge of the effects of environmental factors(e.g.soil conditions,precipitation and temperature) on belowground biomass in an alpine grassland is essential for understanding the consequences of carbon storage in this biome.The object of this study is to investigate the relative importance of soil nutrients and climate factors on belowground biomass in an alpine meadow in the source region of the Yangtze and Yellow rivers,Tibetan Plateau.Soil organic carbon(SOC),total nitrogen(TN) and total phosphorous(TP) contents and belowground biomass were measured at 22 sampling sites across an alpine meadow on the Tibetan Plateau.We analyzed the data by using the redundancy analysis to determine the main environmental factors affecting the belowground biomass and the contribution of each factor.The results showed that SOC,TN and TP were the main factors that influenced belowground biomass,and the contribution of SOC,TN and TP on biomass was in the range of 47.87%–72.06% at soil depths of 0–30 cm.Moreover,the combined contribution of annual mean temperature(AMT) and mean annual precipitation(MAP) on belowground biomass ranged from 0.92% to 4.10%.A potential mechanism for the differences in belowground biomass was caused by the variations in soil nitrogen and phosphorous,which were coupled with SOC.A significant correlation was observed between MAP and soil nutrients(SOC,TN and TP) at the soil depth of 0–10 cm(P<0.05).We concluded that precipitation is an important driving force in regulating ecosystem functioning as reflected in variations of soil nutrients(SOC,TN and TP) and dynamics of belowground biomass in alpine grassland ecosystems.WANG Haiming SUN Jian LI Weipeng WU Jianbo CHEN Youjun LIU Wenhui 2016Journal of Arid Land2016,8,6:5
9Field Experiments of Multi-Channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar for Oil Spill and Chlorophyll-a Detection显示文摘A Multi-channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar(MOFL), with a UV excitation at 355 nm and multiple receiving channels at typical wavelengths of fluorescence from oil spills and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a), has been developed using the Laser- induced Fluorescence(LIF) technique. The sketch of the MOFL system equipped with a compact multi-channel photomultiplier tube(MPMT) is introduced in the paper. The methods of differentiating the oil fluorescence from the background water fluorescence and evaluating the Chl-a concentration are described. Two field experiments were carried out to investigate the field performance of the system, i.e., an experiment in coastal areas for oil pollution detection and an experiment over the Yellow Sea for Chl-a monitoring. In the coastal experiment, several oil samples and other fluorescence substances were used to analyze the fluorescence spectral characteristics for oil identification, and to estimate the thickness of oil films at the water surface. The experiment shows that both the spectral shape of fluorescence induced from surface water and the intensity ratio of two channels(I495/I405) are essential to determine oil-spill occurrence. In the airborne experiment, MOFL was applied to measure relative Chl-a concentrations in the upper layer of the ocean. A comparison of relative Chl-a concentration measurements by MOFL and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) indicates that the two datasets are in good agreement. 10Construction and genetic analysis of mutator insertion mutant population in maize显示文摘A total of 26718 M1 plants were ob- tained by crossing the active mutator transposon donor parents (Q105, WW51, 115F, V26-2 and 919J) with the recipient parents (Hz85,W328 with Bz gene and S-Mo17Rf3Rf3). The phenotypes of M1 plants were observed in the field. M1 plants were self-pollinated to develop the mutator insertion-mutagenized M2 seeds. The transposition frequency of the mutator in the genome was calculated based on the spotted aleurone phenotype of the M2 seeds. The results showed that: (1) the mutation frequency of M1 phe- notypes in the field was 0.07 in the population of W328×Mu; (2) the mutation frequency of spotted aleurone seeds on the M2 ears was 0.122 in the population of W328×Mu; (3) five S-cytoplasm male-sterile plants were found among 22500 M1 plants of S-Mo17Rf3Rf3×Mu, with the transposition frequency about 2.2×10?4 per locus. 99 flanking se- quences of mutator transposition were amplified by the modified MuTAIL-PCR, and 59 non-redundant sequences with length around 400 bp were obtained. After bioinformatic analysis, 27 sequences of them could be annotated, using non-redundant nucleotide database of maize, rice, and Arabidopsis. 36 se- quences of them were located on the genetic map of maize by comparative genomics, and several flank- ing sequences of mutator insertion were mapped on the single marker locus. Hotspot sequences of mu- tator transposition were revealed by comparing the homologies between the 9-bp target site duplication of the mutator insertion. The putative functions of 8 flanking sequences of mutator transposition had identity with the functions of their correspondingmarker. We studied its performance both in solar simulator and in nature sunlight. Spiral photo-electrode of 3D-cell can receive sunlight from all directions and therefore can track the sun passively. And it is much insensitive to solar azimuth angle and shade. In addition, it increases the area to obtain scattered sunlight and reflected light. 12A NEW IMPROVED STRUCTURE OF DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELLS WITH REFLECTION FILM显示文摘A new improved structure of dye- sensi- tized nanocrystalline solar cells (DSSC) for utilizing reflected light was introduced in this paper. Typical DSSC is based on a sandwich structure, which con- sists of photoanode, electrolyte and cathode. For the improved structure of DSSC in this paper, a sliver reflection film was attached to the back of transparent conducting glass of cathode. In this way, the residual light passing through photoanode was reflected to it to be used again. The photocurrent-voltage charac- teristics of DSSC fabricated by two different thickness of TiO2 film were measured to illustrate the effects of utilizing reflected light. 15Influence of metal ions on sulfonamide antibiotics biochemical behavior in fiber coexisting system显示文摘Metal ions and fiber are common compounds in the livestock and poultry manure,which will affect the fate of organic compounds in aqueous environment. However,limited research has addressed the effect of coexisting metal ions and fiber on the biodegradation of sulfonamide antibiotics. Accordingly, a compositing study was performed to assess the effect of metal ions(Fe3+and Cu2+) on the biodegradation of sulfadimethoxine sodium salt(SDM) in the presence of fiber. The enhanced adsorption of SDM onto fiber in the presence of metal ions can be attributed to the π+–π electron donor acceptor(EDA) interaction. The microbial(Phanerochaete chrysosprium) could easily attach onto fiber forming attached microbial, and the degradation rates of SDM of immobilized bacteria in the presence of Fe3 +were 100%, which were significantly higher than those of free bacteria(45%). This study indicates that Fe3 +and fiber could enhance the biodegradation of SDM. 17RNA interference-mediated silencing of vATPase subunits A and E affect survival and development of the 28-spotted ladybeetle,Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata显示文摘RNA interference(RNAi)has emerged as a powerful tool for developing novel management strategies for controlling insect pests.The 28-spotted ladybeetle,Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata is one of the most important pests attacking solanaceous plants in Asia.In this study,the potential of dietary RNAi to manage H.vigintioctopunctata was investigated using both in vitro synthesized and bacterially expressed double-stranded RNAs(dsRNAs)of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E.The expression levels of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E were higher in Malpighian tubules than in other tissue types.The silencing of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E led to significant mortality in H.vigintioctopunctata larvae.In addition,the ingestion of HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E significantly deterred feeding behavior and subsequently arrested the development of H.vigintioctopunctata.Notably,the bacterially expressed dsRNAs consistently caused higher mortality in larvae and adults.Finally,the nontarget effects of the dsRNAs of H.vigintioctopunctata on the predatory ladybeetle Propylaea japonica were evaluated.P.japonica 1st instar larvae were administered vATPase A and vATPase E dsRNAs from H.vigintioctopunctata and P.japonica under the worst-case scenario,in which dsGFP served as negative control.There were significant effects of dsHvvATPase A on P.japonica at the transcriptional level but not at the organismal level,whereas dsHvvATPase E did not effect P.japonica at either the transcriptional or the organismal level.Collectively,the results of the study suggest that HvvATPase A and HvvATPase E can act as novel molecular targets for the control of H.vigintioctopunctata.Wei Guo Mujuan Guo Chunxiao Yang Zhuoqi Liu Shimin Chen Jing Lu Baoli Qiu Youjun Zhang Xuguo Zhou Huipeng Pan 2021Insect Science2021,28,6:3
18Spatial heterogeneity of soil water content in the reversion process of desertification in arid areas显示文摘Sandy soils in arid,rain-fed environments have low and limited water content,which is a principal factor limiting vegetation development,and a key constraint controlling the structure and functions of the ecological systems in arid areas.The spatial heterogeneity of soil water content is a major soil property,and a focus of soil science and hydrology.On the southern edge of the Tengger Desert,sample plots were selected from mobile sand dunes in desertified lands that had been enclosed for 5,15 and 25 years,respectively.This study explored the dynamic and spatial heterogeneity of soil water content in these different layers of soil that were also in the reversion process of desertification.The results showed that the soil water content of the mobile sand dunes was highest when in the initial stages of the reversion process of desertification,while the soil water content in the 0-20 cm,20-40 cm and 40-60 cm layers of soil was 1.769%,3.011%,and 2.967% respectively,presenting a restoring tendency after 25 years of enclosure.There were significant differences,as a whole,in the soil water content among different restoration stages and different soil layers,respectively.Changes in soil water content,in different soil layers,at different restoration stages,exhibited exponential or spherical patterns.The spatial distribution of soil water content exhibited a mosaic patch pattern with obvious spatial heterogeneity.The ratio of the heterogeneity of spatial autocorrelation to gross spatial heterogeneity was greater than 50%.The gross spatial heterogeneity of the 0-20 cm layer of soil improved gradually,while those of the 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm layers improved initially,then weakened in the reversion process of desertification.This study revealed that restoration with sand-binding vegetation reduced soil water content,and increased its spatial heterogeneity in arid areas.However,after 25 years of vegetation-soil system restoration,the soil water content started to increase and its spatial heterogeneity started to weaken.These results will further benefit the understanding of the ecological mechanism between soil water and sand-binding vegetation.QuanLin MA Fang CHENG YouJun LIU FangLin Wang DeKuai ZHANG HuJia JIN 2011Journal of Arid Land2011,3,4:2

The increasing number of the detected gravitational-wave events has revealed the promising capability of constraining various aspects of cosmology, astronomy, and gravity. Due to the limited space in this review article, we will briefly summarize the recent progress over the past five years, but with a special focus on some of our own work for the Key Project 'Physics associated with the gravitational waves' supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
