Effects of different forms of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on growth performance, intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine effects of different forms of yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae, strain Y200007) on the growth performance, intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets.A total of 96 piglets(14-d old, initial average body weight of 4.5 kg) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g/kg heat-killed whole yeast(HKY);and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg superfine yeast powders(SFY).Diets and water were provided ad libitum to the piglets during 3-week experiment.Growth performance of piglets was measured weekly.Samples of blood and small intestine were collected at days 7 and 21 of experiment.Dietary supplementation with LY and SFY improved G:F of piglets at days 1-21 of the experiment(P<0.05) compared to Control group.Serum concentrations of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T_3),tetraiodothyronine(T_4),and insulin growth factor 1(IGF-1) in piglets at day 21 of the experiment were higher when fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY than those in Control group(P < 0.05).Compared to Control group, contents of serum urea nitrogen of piglets were reduced by the 3 yeast-supplemented diets(P< 0.05).Diets supplemented with LY increased villus height and villus-to-crypt ratio in duodenum and jejunum of piglets(P < 0.05) compared to other two groups at day 7 of the experiment.Feeding diets supplemented with LY and SFY increased(P< 0.05) serum concentrations of IgA,IL-2,and IL-6 levels in piglets compared to Control. The CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio and proliferation of T-lymphocytes in piglets fed diets supplemented with LY were increased compared to that of Control group at day 7 of the experiment(P < 0.05).In conclusion, dietary supplementation with both LY and SFY enhanced feed conversion, small intestinal development, and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets, with better improvement in feed conversion by dietary supplementation with LY,while dietary supplementation with SFY was more effective in increasing systemic immune functions in early-weaned piglets. | Zongyong Jiang Shaoyong Wei Zhilin Wang Cui Zhu Shenglan Hu Chuntian Zheng Zhuang Chen Youjun Hu Li Wang Xianyong Ma Xuefen Yang | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1: | 13
An innovative flake graphite upgrading process based on HPGR,stirred grinding mill, and nanobubble column flotation显示文摘Physical upgrading of graphite is typically achieved with many stages of grinding and flotation to produce a concentrate with approximately 95% carbon grade. An innovative grinding and column flotation process has been developed for efficient graphite upgrading to substantially simplify the process flowsheet and reduce operating costs. In this process,a high-pressure grinding roller(HPGR) and a stirred mill were employed as primary comminution techniques and a nanobubble flotation column as a key separation process. The results obtained with a crystalline flake graphite sample with a carbon grade of 11.15% show that the novel process can produce a concentrate with 94.82% carbon grade and 97.89% recovery from an open circuit of one rougher and two cleaner flotation stages.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)microphotographs indicate that HPGR offers the advantage of more effective protection of graphite flakes during crushing.Grinding test results show that stirred mill could not only protect graphite flakes but also promote the efficient liberation of graphite.Compared with the traditional flotation process, nanobubble flotation can effectively recover ultrafine graphite. The new process possesses a number of important advantages over the traditional method, including substantially higher graphite recovery, greatly simplified process flowsheet, better protection of flake size, reduced reagent consumption and process costs, etc. | Fangyuan Ma Dongping Tao Youjun Tao Shuyong Liu | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,6: | 9
Dietary supplementation with a high dose of daidzein enhances the antioxidant capacity in swine muscle but experts pro-oxidant function in liver and fat tissues显示文摘Background: Although isoflavones are natural dietary antioxidants, they may have toxicological effects. This study aimed to evaluate the redox system in tissues of finishing pigs by supplementation with high dose of daidzein(640 mg/kg).Results: The supplementation of high dose of daidzein for 64 d increased the activity of superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity in longissimus muscle but down-regulated the expression of reactive oxygen species(ROS)-producing enzyme NADPH oxidase-2 and cyclooxygenase-2. In contrast, high-level supplementation with daidzein exerted pro-oxidant changes in back fat, abdominal fat, liver, and plasma, as reflected by increased contents of malondialdehyde, a lipid peroxidation product, in these tissues. Furthermore, daidzein supplementation resulted in higher expression of ROS-producing enzymes, including NADPH oxidase-1 and cyclooxygenase-1in liver, 5-lipoxygenase(5-LOX) in backfat and NADPH oxidase-2 both in abdominal fat and backfat. The supplementation of daidzein did not affect meat quality parameters in longissimus muscle, including marbling score, eye muscle areas, intramuscular fat, shear force, drip loss, p H and meat color. Conclusions: This experiment suggests that dietary supplementation of finishing pigs with daidzein at a high dose level improves redox status in muscle but exerts pro-oxidant effect in liver and fat tissues. | Wei Chen Xianyong Ma Yingcai Lin Yunxia Xiong Chuntian Zheng Youjun Hu Deqian Yu Zongyong Jiang | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,3: | 8
Field Experiments of Multi-Channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar for Oil Spill and Chlorophyll-a Detection显示文摘A Multi-channel Oceanographic Fluorescence Lidar(MOFL), with a UV excitation at 355 nm and multiple receiving channels at typical wavelengths of fluorescence from oil spills and chlorophyll-a(Chl-a), has been developed using the Laser- induced Fluorescence(LIF) technique. The sketch of the MOFL system equipped with a compact multi-channel photomultiplier tube(MPMT) is introduced in the paper. The methods of differentiating the oil fluorescence from the background water fluorescence and evaluating the Chl-a concentration are described. Two field experiments were carried out to investigate the field performance of the system, i.e., an experiment in coastal areas for oil pollution detection and an experiment over the Yellow Sea for Chl-a monitoring. In the coastal experiment, several oil samples and other fluorescence substances were used to analyze the fluorescence spectral characteristics for oil identification, and to estimate the thickness of oil films at the water surface. The experiment shows that both the spectral shape of fluorescence induced from surface water and the intensity ratio of two channels(I495/I405) are essential to determine oil-spill occurrence. In the airborne experiment, MOFL was applied to measure relative Chl-a concentrations in the upper layer of the ocean. A comparison of relative Chl-a concentration measurements by MOFL and the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) indicates that the two datasets are in good agreement. The results show that the MOFL system is capable of monitoring oil spills and Chl-a in the upper layer of ocean water. | LI Xiaolong ZHAO Chaofang MA Youjun LIU Zhishen | 2014 | Journal of Ocean University of China2014,13,4: | 5
Experimental investigation on dynamic mechanical characteristics and microstructure of steam-cured concrete显示文摘Steam-cured concrete is widely used to manufacture prefabricated units of high-speed railway foundation structure such as girder and track slab. The dynamic mechanical property of steam-cured concrete is one of the key properties affecting service performance of high-speed railway foundation structure. In the present paper, serial macro/micro-experiments were carried out to investigate the dynamic elastic modulus, shear modulus, damping ratio, and microstructure of steam-cured concrete. The relationships between compositions, curing regime, microstructure, and dynamic properties of steam-cured concrete as well as the corresponding mechanisms were discussed. The results indicate that steam-cured concrete in early age has a larger dynamic elastic modulus and shear modulus as well as a smaller damping ratio compared with standard-cured concrete. On the contrary,at a later age a slightly smaller dynamic elastic modulus and a larger damping ratio of steam-cured concrete are observed.Addition of mineral admixture results in a bit lower dynamic elastic modulus and damping ratio of concrete than that of the control specimen without mineral admixtures. The achievements can provide some fundamental suggestions for materials parameters selection during structural design of steam-cured concrete precast element. | LONG GuangCheng WANG Meng XIE YouJun MA KunLin | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,10: | 4
Spatial heterogeneity of soil water content in the reversion process of desertification in arid areas显示文摘Sandy soils in arid,rain-fed environments have low and limited water content, which is a principal factor limiting vegetation development, and a key constraint controlling the structure and functions of the ecological systems in arid areas. The spatial heterogeneity of soil water content is a major soil property, and a focus of soil science and hydrology. On the southern edge of the Tengger Desert, sample plots were selected from mobile sand dunes in desertified lands that had been enclosed for 5,15 and 25 years, respectively. This study explored the dynamic and spatial heterogeneity of soil water content in these different layers of soil that were also in the reversion process of desertification. The results showed that the soil water content of the mobile sand dunes was highest when in the initial stages of the reversion process of desertification, while the soil water content in the 0-20 cm,20-40 cm and 40-60 cm layers of soil was 1.769%,3.011%,and 2.967% respectively, presenting a restoring tendency after 25 years of enclosure. There were significant differences,as a whole,in the soil water content among different restoration stages and different soil layers, respectively.Changes in soil water content,in different soil layers,at different restoration stages, exhibited exponential or spherical patterns. The spatial distribution of soil water content exhibited a mosaic patch pattern with obvious spatial heterogeneity. The ratio of the heterogeneity of spatial autocorrelation to gross spatial heterogeneity was greater than 50%.The gross spatial heterogeneity of the 0-20 cm layer of soil improved gradually, while those of the 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm layers improved initially, then weakened in the reversion process of desertification. This study revealed that restoration with sand-binding vegetation reduced soil water content, and increased its spatial heterogeneity in arid areas. However, after 25 years of vegetation-soil system restoration, the soil water content started to increase and its spatial heterogeneity started to weaken. These results will further benefit the understanding of the ecological mechanism between soil water and sand-binding vegetation. | QuanLin MA Fang CHENG YouJun LIU FangLin Wang DeKuai ZHANG HuJia JIN | 2011 | Journal of Arid Land2011,3,4: | 2
Deterioration of dynamic mechanical property of concrete with mineral admixtures under fatigue loading显示文摘The dynamic mechanical property of concrete is one of the key parameters, which greatly influences durability of infrastructures subjected to continuous heavy loading, such as girder and track slab of high-speed railway foundation structure. This paper reports serials of experiments designed to investigate the deterioration of dynamic mechanical properties of different concretes under fatigue loading condition.Four parameters including relative dynamic elastic modulus(RDEM),relative dynamic shear modulus(RDSM),relative compressive strength(RCS)and water absorption(WA)of concrete were evaluated to assess the dynamic properties and microstructures of concretes. Results show that the fatigue stress levels and fatigue cycle durations significantly influence the dynamic mechanical properties of concrete including dynamic elastic modulus and dynamic shear modulus.Addition of proper mineral admixture can improve the dynamic mechanical characteristics of concrete and increase its resistance against the fatigue loading effect.Keeping the amount of mineral admixture in concrete constant, its dynamic mechanical property with fly ash is lower than that with fly ash and silica fume. The water absorption in concrete, which is an indirect parameter reflecting capillary porosity, increases evidently after bearing fatigue-loading.There is a close correlation between the deterioration of dynamic mechanical property and the increasing of water absorption of concrete. This indicates that the damage of microstructure of concrete subjected to fatigue loading is the indispensable reason for the decay of its dynamic mechanical performance. | MA KunLin XIE YouJun LONG GuangCheng TAN WenYong | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,10: | 2
Simulation of blast induced crater in jointed rock mass by discontinuous deformation analysis method显示文摘Rock blasting is a dynamic process accom panied with the propagations of shock waves and the dispersion of the explosion gas. This paper adopts the discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA)method to simulate the rock blasting process.A dynamic parameter adjustment and the non-reflecting boundary condition are implemented in the DDA method. The sub-block DDA method to simulate fracture problems is used. The blasting process in jointed rock mass is simulated by application of the explosion gas pressure on the expanding borehole walls and induced connected fracture surfaces around the boreholes. The blast craters with different overburdens are derived. The whole process including the explosion gas dispersion, borehole expansion, rock mass failure and cast, and the formation of the final blasting piles in rock blasting are well reproduced numerically.Parametric study for different overburdens is carried out,and the results are analyzed and discussed. | Youjun NING Jun YANG Xinmei AN Guowei MA | 2010 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2010,4,2: | 2

Exploration on learning molecular docking with deep learning models显示文摘Background:Molecular docking-based virtual screening(VS)aims to choose ligands with potential pharmacological activities from millions or even billions of molecules. This process could significantly cut down the number of compounds that need to be experimentally tested. However, during the docking calculation, many molecules have low affinity for a particular protein target, which waste a lot of computational resources. Methods:We implemented a fast and practical molecular screening approach called DL-DockVS(deep learning dock virtual screening)by using deep learning models(regression and classification models)to learn the outcomes of pipelined docking programs step-by-step.Results:In this study,we showed that this approach could successfully weed out compounds with poor docking scores while keeping compounds with potentially high docking scores against 10 DUD-E protein targets.A self-built dataset of about 1.9 million molecules was used to further verify DL-DockVS,yielding good results in terms of recall rate, active compounds enrichment factor and runtime speed. Conclusions:We comprehensively evaluate the practicality and effectiveness of DL-DockVS against 10 protein targets.Due to the improvements of runtime and maintained success rate,it would be a useful and promising approach to screen ultra-large compound libraries in the age of big data.It is also very convenient for researchers to make a well-trained model of one specific target for predicting other chemical libraries and high docking-score molecules without docking computation again. | Qin Xie Wei Ma Jianhang Zhang Shiliang Li Xiaobing Deng Youjun Xu Weilin Zhang | 2023 | Quantitative Biology2023,11,3: | 0
