| 1 | Evolution and molecular epidemiology of foot-and-mouth disease virus in China显示文摘Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD),caused by foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV),is considered one of the most important viral diseases of cloven-hoofed animals,causing severe economic losses in affected regions of the world.Three serotypes (A,O,and Asia 1) of FMDV have been identified in China since 1958.In addition,the occurrence of novel subtypes within these serotypes has made the epidemiology of FMDV more complicated over the last few years.In this review,we summarize the history and the current epidemiological situation in China,genetic diversity (e.g.,quasispecies dynamics,antigenic heterogeneity,and functional constraints),intertypic recombination,and the evidence for positive selection of different FMDV serotypes.We also assess these genetic data to understand the origin,evolution,and transmission of FMDV,the findings of which may be useful in developing control measures for future epidemics. | BAI XingWen LI PingHua BAO HuiFang LIU ZaiXin LI Dong LU ZengJun CAO YiMei SHANG YouJun SHAO JunJun CHANG HuiYun LUO JianXun LIU XiangTao | 2011 | Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,21: | 7 |

| 6 | Rapid Detection Co-infections of Classical Swine Fever Virus and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus by One-step Multiplex RT-PCR显示文摘Classical swine fever virus(CSFV) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV) have caused immense economic loss in the pig industry and are considered to be the two most important infectious diseases of pigs in the world. A multiplex reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(multiplex RT-PCR) was developed for CSFV and PRRSV co-infections or infections,respectively. A set of two pairs of primer was designed based on the sequence of nonstructural protein NS54B of CSFV and ORF7 gene of PRRSV. The diagnostic accuracy of multiplex RT-PCR assay was evaluated by using 56 field clinical samples by multiplex RT-PCR,single RT-PCR and sequence analysis;and the specificity of multiplex PCR was verified by using constructed plasmids containing the specific viral target fragments of PRRSV and CSFV,respectively. The results indicated that this assay could reliably differentiate PRRSV and CSFV in co-infection samples.
