1Removal of Crystal Violet from aqueous solution using powdered mycelial biomass of Ceriporia lacerata P2显示文摘A biosorbent prepared from powdered mycelial biomass of Ceriporia lacerata (CLB), a basidiomycetous fungus, was applied for the uptake of Crystal Violet from aqueous solution. A batch adsorption experiment was used for the biosorption process, involving effect of experimental factors and biosorption kinetics and equilibrium. Biosorption process showed that the removal of Crystal Violet by CLB was effective over wide pH range, and meanwhile was independent on ionic strength. Biosorption capacities of CLB increased with the initial dye concentration increasing, due to an increase in the driving force of the concentration gradient. The adsorbed Crystal Violet amount per unit biomass weight decreased with increasing biosorbent dosage, due to the splitting effect of flux (concentration gradient) between sorbate and biosorbent. A maximum sorption capacity of 239.25 mg/g was observed. Biosorption kinetics was found to be best represented by the pseudo second-order kinetic model. The equilibrium adsorption data was well described by the Koble-Corrigan model. FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spetroscopy) spectrum showed the presence of O-H, COOH, C=O, C-N, C-H, -NH2 and P-OH in the surface of CLB as functional groups. 2Vertically standing PtSe_2 film: a saturable absorber for a passively mode-locked Nd:LuVO_4 laser显示文摘The novel vertically standing Pt Se2 film on transparent quartz was prepared by selenization of platinum film deposited by the magnetron sputtering method, and an Nd:Lu VO4 passively mode-locked solid-state laser was realized by using the fabricated Pt Se2 film as a saturable absorber. The X-ray diffraction pattern and Raman spectrum of the film indicate its good crystallinity with a layered structure. The thickness of Pt Se2 film is measured to be 24 nm according to the cross-section height profile of the atomic force microscope image. Highresolution transmission electron microscopy images clearly demonstrate its vertically standing structure with an interlayer distance of 0.54 nm along the c-axis direction. The modulation depth(ΔT) and saturation fluence(Φs)of Pt Se2 film are measured to be 12.6% and 17.1 μJ∕cm2, respectively. The obtained mode-locked laser spectrum has a central wavelength of 1066.573 nm, with a 3 d B bandwidth of 0.106 nm. The transform limited pulse width of the mode-locked laser was calculated to be 15.8 ps. A maximum average output power of 180 m W with a working repetition rate of 61.3 MHz is obtained. 4Recent advance in synthesis and application of heteroatom zeolites显示文摘Incorporation of heteroatoms into the framewo rk of zeolites has become a significant strategy to improve their performance in catalysis and adsorption,because the obtained heteroatom zeolites exhibit quite different properties from the conventional aluminosilicate zeolites in aspects of surface acidity,pore structures,particle size and so on.In this review,the progress on the heteroatom zeolites including their synthesis and application is highlighted.First,the recent advance on the design and synthesis of different heteroatom zeolites is summarized.Special emphasis is placed on the introduction and comparison of three typical methods,including the direct synthesis,post synthesis and improved direct synthesis,for the traditional heteroatom zeolites(such as TS-1,Sn-MFI,Sn-β) and newly-reported heteroatom zeolites(such as W-MFI,Mo-MFI).According to their intrinsic characteristics,the application of heteroatom zeolites in diverse fields,such as production of fine chemicals,air pollution control and biomass conversion is then discussed.Finally,the challenges and perspective on the future development of heteroatom zeolites in low-cost preparation and practical application are proposed.Tingting Pang Xuanyu Yang Chenyi Yuan Ahmed A.Elzatahry Abdulaziz Alghamdi Xing He Xiaowei Cheng Yonghui Deng 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,1:2
5Genetic architecture of maize yield traits dissected by QTL mapping and GWAS in maize显示文摘The study of yield traits can reveal the genetic architecture of grain yield for improving maize production.In this study, an association panel comprising 362 inbred lines and a recombinant inbred line population derived from X178 × 9782 were used to identify candidate genes for nine yield traits. High-priority overlap(HPO) genes, which are genes prioritized in a genome-wide association study(GWAS), were investigated using coexpression networks. The GWAS identified 51 environmentally stable SNPs in two environments and 36 pleiotropic SNPs, including three SNPs with both attributes. Seven hotspots containing 41 trait-associated SNPs were identified on six chromosomes by permutation. Pyramiding of superior alleles showed a highly positive effect on all traits, and the phenotypic values of ear diameter and ear weight consistently corresponded with the number of superior alleles in tropical and temperate germplasm. A total of 61 HPO genes were detected after trait-associated SNPs were combined with the coexpression networks. Linkage mapping identified 16 environmentally stable and 16 pleiotropic QTL.Seven SNPs that were located in QTL intervals were assigned as consensus SNPs for the yield traits.Among the candidate genes predicted by our study, some genes were confirmed to function in seed development. The gene Zm00001 d016656 encoding a serine/threonine protein kinase was associated with five different traits across multiple environments. Some genes were uniquely expressed in specific tissues and at certain stages of seed development. 14Long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)H19:An essential developmental regulator with expanding roles in cancer,stem cell differentiation,and metabolic diseases显示文摘Recent advances in deep sequencing technologies have revealed that,while less than 2%of the human genome is transcribed into mRNA for protein synthesis,over 80%of the genome is transcribed,leading to the production of large amounts of noncoding RNAs(ncRNAs).It has been shown that ncRNAs,especially long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs),may play crucial regulatory roles in gene expression.As one of the first isolated and reported lncRNAs,H19 has gained much attention due to its essential roles in regulating many physiological and/or pathological processes including embryogenesis,development,tumorigenesis,osteogen-esis,and metabolism.Mechanistically,H19 mediates diverse regulatory functions by serving as competing endogenous RNAs(CeRNAs),Igf2/H19 imprinted tandem gene,modular scaffold,cooperating with H19 antisense,and acting directly with other mRNAs or lncRNAs.Here,we summarized the current understanding of H19 in embryogenesis and development,cancer development and progression,mesenchymal stem cell lineage-specific differentiation,and metabolic diseases.We discussed the potential regulatory mechanisms underlying H19’s func-tions in those processes although more in-depth studies are warranted to delineate the exact molecular,cellular,epigenetic,and genomic regulatory mechanisms underlying the physiolog-ical and pathological roles of H19.Ultimately,these lines of investigation may lead to the development of novel therapeutics for human diseases by exploiting H19 functions.Junyi Liao Bowen Chen Zhenglin Zhu Chengcheng Du Shengqiang Gao Guozhi Zhao Piao Zhao Yonghui Wang Annie Wang Zander Schwartz Lily Song Jeffrey Hong William Wagstaff Rex CHaydon Hue HLuu Jiaming Fan Russell RReid Tong-Chuan He Lewis Shi Ning Hu Wei Huang 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:1
15Effects of Organic Fertilizers Made from Distiller's Grains on the Growth and Development of Flue-cured Tobacco显示文摘Pot experiments were conducted to study the effects of different organic fertilizers made from distiller's grains on the physiological characteristics and growth of flue-cured tobacco. 16Magnitude and Forming Factors of Mass Elevation Effect on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau显示文摘Mass elevation effect(MEE) refers to the thermal effect of huge mountains or plateaus, which causes the tendency for temperature-related montane landscape limits to occur at higher elevations in the inner massifs than on their outer margins. MEE has been widely identified in all large mountains, but how it could be measured and what its main forming-factors are still remain open. This paper, supposing that the local mountain base elevation(MBE) is the main factor of MEE, takes the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP) as the study area, defines MEE as the temperature difference(ΔT) between the inner and outer parts of mountain massifs, identifies the main forming factors, and analyzes their contributions to MEE. A total of 73 mountain bases were identified, ranging from 708 m to 5081 m and increasing from the edges to the central parts of the plateau. Climate data(1981–2010) from 134 meteorological stations were used to acquire ΔT by comparing near-surface air temperature on the main plateau with the free-air temperature at the same altitude and similar latitude outside of the plateau. The ΔT for the warmest month is averagely 6.15℃, over 12℃ at Lhatse and Baxoi. A multivariate linear regression model was developed to simulate MEE based on three variables(latitude, annual mean precipitation and MBE), which are all significantly correlated to ΔT. The model could explain 67.3% of MEE variation, and the contribution rates of three independent variables to MEE are 35.29%, 22.69% and 42.02%, respectively. This confirms that MBE is the main factor of MEE. The intensive MEE of the QTP pushes the 10℃ isotherm of the warmest month mean temperature 1300–2000 m higher in the main plateau than in the outer regions, leading the occurrence of the highest timberline(4900 m) and the highest snowline(6200 m) of the Northern Hemisphere in the southeast and southwest of the plateau, respectively.ZHANG Shuo ZHANG Baiping YAO Yonghui ZHAO Fang QI Wenwen HE Wenhui WANG Jing 2016Chinese Geographical Science2016,26,6:1

20Eupalinolide B inhibits hepatic carcinoma by inducing ferroptosis and ROS-ER-JNK pathway显示文摘Primary hepatic carcinoma is a common malignant tumor.The classic molecular targeted drug sorafenib is costly and is only effective for some patients.Therefore,it is of great clinical significance to search for new molecular targeted drugs.Eupalinolide B(EB)from Eupatorium lindleyanum DC.is used to treat chronic tracheitis in clinical practice.However,the role of EB in hepatic carcinoma is unknown.In this study,we first measure the effect of EB on tumor growth in a xenograft model and PDX model.The cell proliferation and migration are also detected in human hepatocarcinoma cell lines(SMMC-7721 and HCCLM3).Then,we investigate cell cycle,cell apoptosis,cell necrosis,cell autophagy,and ferroptosis by flow cytometry,western blot analysis and electron microscopy.The results demonstrate that EB exerts anti-proliferative activity in hepatic carcinoma by blocking cell cycle arrest at S phase and inducing ferroptosis mediated by endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress,as well as HO-1 activation.When HO-1 is inhibited,EB-induced cell death and ER protein expression are rescued.The migration-related mechanism consists of activation of the ROS-ER-JNK signaling pathway and is not connected to ferroptosis.In summary,we first discover that EB inhibits cell proliferation and migration in hepatic carcinoma,and thus EB is a promising anti-tumor compound that can be used for hepatic carcinoma.Yonghui Zhang Haoyang Zhang Jinage Mu Meiyue Han Zhihao Cao Feng Dong Tingting Wang Lian Pan Wujing Luo Jiaxin Li Huan Liu Lishan Jin Wenxuan Ding Yong Wei Xuesong Deng Dan Liu Xiuzhen He Yi Pang Xiao Mu Zhongjun Wu Dilong Chen 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,7:1
