1Advances in the Pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s Disease:Focusing on Tau-Mediated Neurodegeneration显示文摘In addition to senile plaques and cerebral amyloid angiopathy,the hyperphosphorylation of tau protein and formation of intraneuronal neurofibrillary tangles(NFTs)represents another neuropathological hallmark in AD brain.Tau is a microtubule-associated protein and localizes predominantly in the axons of neurons with the primary function in maintaining microtubules stability.When the balance between tau phosphorylation and dephosphorylation is changed in favor of the former,tau is hyperphosphorylated and the level of the free tau fractions elevated.The hyperphosphorylation of tau protein and formation of NFTs represent a characteristic neuropathological feature in AD brain.We have discussed the role of Aβin AD in our previous review,this review focused on the recent advances in tau-mediated AD pathology,mainly including tau hyperphosphorylation,propagation of tau pathology and the relationship between tau and Aβ.Yale Duan Suzhen Dong Feng Gu Yinghe Hu Zheng Zhao 2012Translational Neurodegeneration2012,1,1:15
2Advances in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease:a re-evaluation of amyloid cascade hypothesis显示文摘Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a common neurodegenerative disease characterized clinically by progressive deterioration of memory,and pathologically by histopathological changes including extracellular deposits of amyloid-beta(A-beta)peptides forming senile plaques(SP)and the intracellular neurofibrillary tangles(NFT)of hyperphosphorylated tau in the brain.This review focused on the new developments of amyloid cascade hypothesis with details on the production,metabolism and clearance of A-beta,and the key roles of some important A-beta-related genes in the pathological processes of AD.The most recent research advances in genetics,neuropathology and pathogenesis of the disease were also discussed.Suzhen Dong Yale Duan Yinghe Hu Zheng Zhao 2012Translational Neurodegeneration2012,1,1:13
3Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Wetland Habitats and Their Application in Constructed Wetland: A Review显示文摘Over the last three decades, the presence and functional roles of arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi in wetland habitats have received increasing attention. This review summarized the mycorrhizal status in wetlands and the effect of flooding on AM fungal colonization. Plants of 99 families living in 31 different habitats have been found to be associated with AM fungi, even including submerged aquatic plants and several plant species that were thought to be nonmycorrhizal(Cyperaceae, Chenopodiaceae, and Plumbaginaceae). The functions of AM fungi in wetland ecological systems could be concluded as their influences on the composition,succession, and diversity of the wetland plant community, and the growth and nutrition of wetland plants. Affecting the composition,succession, and diversity of the wetland plant community, AM fungi have positive, negative, or neutral effects on the performance of different wetland species under different conditions. The factors that affect the application effect of AM fungi in constructed wetland(CW) include flooding, phosphorus, plant species, aerenchyma, salinity, CW types, operation modes of CW, and wastewater quality.The generalist AM fungi strains can be established spontaneously, rapidly, and extensively in wastewater bioremediation technical installations; therefore, AM fungi can be considered ideal inhabitants of technical installations for the plant-based bioremediation of groundwater contaminated by organic pollutants or other contaminants. 4LS-SVM and Monte Carlo methods based reliability analysis for settlement of soft clayey foundation显示文摘A method which adopts the combination of least squares support vector machine(LS-SVM) and Monte Carlo(MC) simulation is used to calculate the foundation settlement reliability.When using LS-SVM,choosing the training dataset and the values for LS-SVM parameters is the key.In a representative sense,the orthogonal experimental design with four factors and five levels is used to choose the inputs of the training dataset,and the outputs are calculated by using fast Lagrangian analysis continua(FLAC).The decimal ant colony algorithm(DACA) is also used to determine the parameters.Calculation results show that the values of the two parameters,and δ2 have great effect on the performance of LS-SVM.After the training of LS-SVM,the inputs are sampled according to the probabilistic distribution,and the outputs are predicted with the trained LS-SVM,thus the reliability analysis can be performed by the MC method.A program compiled by Matlab is employed to calculate its reliability.Results show that the method of combining LS-SVM and MC simulation is applicable to the reliability analysis of soft foundation settlement.Yinghe Wang Xinyi Zhao Baotian Wang 2013Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2013,5,4:5

6The impact of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs)on macrophages:contribution of MWCNT characteristics显示文摘Multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) have wide application prospects but also exhibit notable biotoxicity that is tightly associated with macrophages. Macrophages simultaneously act as initiators and defenders in MWCNT-induced organ lesions,and targeting macrophages with MWCNTs may be a potential immunotherapy and oncotherapy approach. This review focuses on the impacts of MWCNTs on macrophages and further discusses the influence of MWCNT characteristics on their bioactivity.Based on existing studies, MWCNTs stimulate macrophage migration, induce secretion of various cytokines and activate inflammatory pathways in macrophages, especially NLRP3-mediated IL-1β production. This inflammatory state, together with the oxidative stress and cell membrane lesions induced by MWCNTs, contributes to decreased phagocytic ability and cell viability, which finally results in cell apoptosis and necrosis. A series of intracellular and systemic components, such as toll-like receptor, high-mobility group box 1, Rho-associated kinases, scavenger receptor and complement components, may be involved in the above-mentioned cell-MWCNT interactions. The characteristics of MWCNTs can influence their bioactivity in macrophages both mechanically and chemically. 7Single MoTe_(2) sheet electrocatalytic microdevice for in situ revealing the activated basal plane sites by vacancies engineering显示文摘Activating basal plane inert sites will endow MoTe_(2) with prominent hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)catalytic capability and arouse a new family of HER catalysts.Herein,we fabricated single MoTe_(2) sheet electrocatalytic microdevice for in situ revealing the activated basal plane sites by vacancies introducing.Through the extraction of electrical parameters of single MoTe_(2) sheet,the in-plane and interlayer conductivities were optimized effectively by Te vacancies due to the defect levels.More deeply,Te vacancies can induce the delocalization of electrons around Mo atoms and shift the d-band center,as a consequence,facilitate the adsorption of H from the catalyst surface for HER catalysis.Benefiting by the coordinated regulation of band structure and local charge density,the overpotential at−10 mA·cm^(−2)was reduced to 0.32 V after Te vacancies compared to 0.41 V for the basal plane sites of same MoTe_(2) nanosheet.Meanwhile,the insights gained from single nanosheet electrocatalytic microdevice can be applied to the improved HER of the commercial MoTe_(2) power.That the in situ testing of the atomic structure-electrical behavior-electrochemical properties of a single nanosheet before/after vacancies introducing provides reliable insight to structure-activity relationships.Huan Yang Yinghe Zhao Qunlei Wen Yan Mi Youwen Liu Huiqiao Li Tianyou Zhai 2021Nano Research2021,14,12:3
