2Temporal and spatial variation of annual mean air temperature in arid and semiarid region in northwest China over a recent 46 year period显示文摘We analyzed the 1961-2006 mean surface air temperature data of 138 stations in China's northwest arid and semi-arid areas(CNASA),to measure climate change in terms of annual mean air temperature changes.We used methods of linear regression analysis,multinomial fitting,Empirical Or-thogonal Function(EOF),Rotated Empirical Orthogonal Function(REOF),Mann-Kendall,Glide T-examination,wavelet analysis and power spectrum analysis.The results show that(1) the warming rate of the annual mean air temperature in CNASA was 0.35oC/10a during the 1961-2006 study period.Some places in the west part of Xinjiang and east part of the Qinghai plateau,which is impacted by the terrain of leeward slope,exhibit smaller increasing trends.However,the majority of region has shown distinct warming in line with general global warming;(2) The standard deviation of the annual mean temperature distribution is non-uniform.The south Xinjiang and east Qinghai-south Gansu areas show relatively small standard deviations,but the inter-annual variation in annual mean air temperature in the greater part of the region is high;(3) Inner Mongolia,Shaanxi,Gansu,Ningxia and Tarim Basin are the areas where the temperature changes are most sensitive to the environment.The degree of uniformity in annual mean air temperature increase is higher in the arid and semi-arid area.From the early 1970s,the trend in tempera-ture changed from a decrease to an increase,and there was a marked increase in mean temperature in 1986.After that mean temperature went through a period of rapid increase.The entire area's 10 hottest years all occurred in or since the 1990s,and 90% of various sub-districts' hottest years also occurred after 1990.The process of temperature change appears to have a roughly 5-year and a 10-year cycle;(4) An-nual mean air temperature variation has regional differences.In Inner Mongolia-Xinjiang and Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia-Qinghai areas,the temperature variation in their northern areas was very different from that in their southern areas;(5) Using the REOF method we divided the region into 4 sub-regions:the Northern region,the Plateau region,the Southern Xinjiang region and the Eastern region.The region's annual mean air temperature transition has regional differences.The Plateau and Southern Xinjiang re-gions got warmer steadily without any obvious acceleration in the rate of warming.The Northern region's warming started about 5-years earlier than that of the low latitude Eastern region.The 'Startup region' of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,appears to undergo temperature changes 3 to 10 years earlier than the other regions,and exhibits inter-decadal variations 1 to 2 years ahead of the other regions.Chen, ShaoYong Shi, YuanYuan Guo, YuZhen Zheng, YanXiang 2010Journal of Arid Land2010,2,2:24

4Studies on the overexpression of the soybean GmNHX1 in Lotus corniculatus: The reduced Na^+ level is the basis of the increased salt tolerance显示文摘The full length cDNA coding for a novel vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporter (GmNHX1) was cloned from soybean and determined to consist of 2591 bp with a 5′-untranslated region of 464 bp, an open reading frame (ORF) of 1641 bp, and a 3′-untrans- lated region of 486 bp. The deduced protein se- quence contains 546 aa with the typical characters of the vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporters, and shares high similarity with that of AtNHX1, OsNHX1 and AgNHX1. The soybean genome showed a single copy of the GmNHX1 gene. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that the expression of the GmNHX1 was tissue-spe- cific, increased by ABA treatment, NaCl, KCl, LiCl and dehydration stress, and lower in leaves but higher in roots and hypocotyls of salt-tolerant than salt-sensitive cultivars. The GmNHX1 was overex- pressed under the control of a tandem cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) 35S promoter in the model le- guminous plant Lotus corniculatus L. and conferred salt-tolerance of the transgenic plants. 5Effect of tempering temperature on microstructure and mechanical properties of high boron white cast iron显示文摘The effect of different tempering temperatures on the microstructure and mechanical properties of airquenched high boron white cast iron was studied.The results indicate that the high boron white cast iron comprises dendritic matrix and inter-dendritic M 2 B boride;and the matrix comprises martensite and pearlite.After quenching in the air,the matrix is changed into lath martensite;but only 1-μm-size second phase exists in the matrix.After tempering,another second phase of several tens of nanometers is found in the matrix,and the size and quantity increase with an increase in tempering temperature.The two kinds of second precipitation phase with different sizes in the matrix have the same chemical formula,but their forming stages are different.The precipitation phase with larger size forms during the austenitizing process,while the precipitation phase with smaller size forms during the tempering process.When tempered at different temperatures after quenching,the hardness decreases with an increase in the tempering temperature,but it increases a little at 450 ℃ due to the precipitation strengthening effect of the second phase,and it decreases greatly due to the martensite decomposition above 450 ℃.The impact toughness increases a little when tempered below 300 ℃,but it then decreases continuously owing to the increase in size and quantity of the secondary precipitate above 300 ℃.Considered comprehensively,the optimum tempering temperature is suggested at 300 ℃ to obtain a good combination of hardness and toughness.Liu Zhongli Li Yanxiang Chen Xiang 2012China Foundry2012,9,4:10
6Current status of applying microwave-associated catalysis for the degradation of organics in aqueous phase – A review显示文摘Interactions between microwaves and certain catalysts can lead to efficient, energy-directed convergence of a relatively dispersed microwave field onto the reactive sites of the catalyst,which produces thermal or discharge effects around the catalyst. These interactions form'high-energy sites'(HeS) that promote energy efficient utilization and enhanced in situ degradation of organic pollutants. This article focuses on the processes occurring between microwaves and absorbing catalysts, and presents a critical review of microwave-absorbing mechanisms. This article also discusses aqueous phase applications of relevant catalysts(ironbased, carbon-based, soft magnetic, rare earth, and other types) and microwaves, special effects caused by the dimensions and structures of catalytic materials, and the optimization and design of relevant reactors for microwave-assisted catalysis of wastewater. 7A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif 1(ADAMTS1) expression increases in acute aortic dissection显示文摘Acute aortic dissection(AAD) is a life-threatening cardiovascular disease caused by progressive medial degeneration of the aortic wall. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 1(ADAMTS1) is a recently identified extracellular metalloproteinase participating in the development of vascular disease, such as atherosclerosis. In the present study, we found that ADAMTS1 was significantly elevated in blood samples from AAD patients compared with patients with acute myocardial infarction and healthy volunteers. Based on these findings, we established an AAD model by infusing angiotensin II in older mice. AAD was successfully developed in aorta tissues, with an incidence of 42% after 14 days in the angiotensin II group. Macrophage and neutrophil infiltration was observed in the media of the aorta, and ADAMTS1 overexpression was found in the aorta by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. Double immunofluorescence staining showed the expression of ADAMTS1 in macrophages and neutrophils. Consistent with the upregulation of ADAMTS1 in aortic dissection tissues, versican(a proteoglycan substrate of ADAMTS1) was degraded significantly more in these tissues than in control aortic tissues. 9Microstructure and mechanical properties of a new type of austempered boron alloyed high silicon cast steel显示文摘In the present paper, a new type of austempered boron alloyed high silicon cast steel has been developed, and its microstructures and mechanical properties at different temperatures were investigated. The experimental results indicate that the boron alloyed high silicon cast steel comprises a dendritic matrix and interdendritic eutectic borides in as-cast condition. The dendritic matrix is made up of pearlite, ferrite, and the interdendritic eutectic boride is with a chemical formula of M2B (M represents Fe, Cr, Mn or Mo) which is much like that of carbide in high chromium white cast iron. Pure ausferrite structure that consists of bainitic ferrite and retained austenite can be obtained in the matrix by austempering treatment to the cast steel. No carbides precipitate in the ausferrite structure and the morphology of borides remains almost unchanged after austempering treatments. Secondary boride particles precipitate during the course of austenitizing. The hardness and tensile strength of the austempered cast steel decrease with the increase of the austempering temperature, from 250 oC to 400 oC. 12Study on Thermal Simulation of Solidification in Heavy Section Ductile Iron显示文摘Using an artificial intelligent instrument and a computer feedback control method, a new thermal simulation systemis studied. Based on numerical simulation of casting solidification, a sample in the new system successfully simulatedthe solidification of heavy section ductile iron. The results show that the new thermal simulation system is accurateand reliable. Not only cooling curve but also graphite in the center of the thermal sample and the heavy sectionductile iron is identical. 13APPROACH TO IMPROVEMENT OF ROBOT TRAJECTORY ACCURACY BY DYNAMIC COMPENSATION显示文摘Some dynamic factors, such as inertial forces and friction, may affect the robot trajectory accuracy. But these effects are not taken into account in robot motion control schemes. Dynamic control methods, on the other hand, require the dynamic model of robot and the implementation of new type controller. A method to improve robot trajectory accuracy by dynamic compensation in robot motion control system is proposed. The dynamic compensation is applied as an additional velocity feedforward and a multilayer neural network is employed to realize the robot inverse dynamics. The complicated dynamic parameter identification problem becomes a learning process of neural network connecting weights under supervision. The finite Fourier series is used to activate each actuator of robot joints for obtaining training samples. Robot control system, consisting of an industrial computer and a digital motion controller, is implemented. The system is of open architecture with velocity feedforward function. The proposed method is not model-based and combines the advantages of close-loop position control and computed torque control. 18Agonistic AT_1 Receptor Autoantibody Increases in Serum of Patients with Refractory Hypertension and Improves Ca^(2+) Mobilization in Cultured Rat Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells显示文摘Agonistic AT1 receptor autoantibodies (AT1-AAs) have been described in the patients with malignant hypertension or preeclampia. Furthermore, AT1-AAs were highly associated with refractory hypertension. Function of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is important in the regulation of blood pressure. We investigated and compared the ability of angiotensin II (Ang II) and AT1-AAs to stimulate the intracellular calcium mobilization and cellular proliferation of rat VSMCs. Twenty-two patients with refractory hypertension, 24 patients with non-refractory hypertension and 37 normotensives were recruited. The serum of each patient was detected for the presence of AT1-AAs by ELISA. Ang II and the AT1-AAs from the sera of patients were used to stimulate rat VSMCs in vitro. AT1-AAs were detected in 10/22, 3/24 and 3/37 of patients with refractory hypertension, non-refractory hypertension and normotensives, respectively. AT1-AAs led the increase intracellular calcium mobilization in a dose-dependent manner and cellular proliferation of VSMCs just as Ang II. Both of these effects caused by AT1-AAs were blocked with losartan or a peptide corresponding to a part of the second extracellular loop of AT1 receptor. Since AT1-AAs exhibited pharmacological activity in rat VSMCs just as Ang II, they might play a role in the elevation of peripheral vascular resistance and in vascular remodeling. 20Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell transplantation for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy显示文摘Due to their relative abundance,stable biological properties and excellent reproductive activity,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells have previously been utilized for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy,which is a muscular atrophy disease.Three patients who were clinically and pathologically diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy were transplanted with umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells by intravenous infusion,in combination with multi-point intramuscular injection.They were followed up for 12 months after cell transplantation.Results showed that clinical symptoms significantly improved,daily living activity and muscle strength were enhanced,the sero-enzyme,electromyogram,and MRI scans showed improvement,and dystrophin was expressed in the muscle cell membrane.Hematoxylin-eosin staining of a muscle biopsy revealed that muscle fibers were well arranged,fibrous degeneration was alleviated,and fat infiltration was improved.These pieces of evidence suggest that umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell transplantation can be considered as a new regimen for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.Xiaofeng Yang Yifeng Xu Naiwu Lu Yibin Zhang Hongmei Wang Xin Lu Jiping Cui JinxuZhou Hong Shan Yanxiang Wu Xinping Liu 2011Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,10:4
