| 1 | Reproductive management through integration of PGD and MPS-based noninvasive prenatal screening/diagnosis for a family with GJB2-associated hearing impairment显示文摘A couple with a proband child of GJB2(encoding the gap junction protein connexin 26)-associated hearing impairment and a previous pregnancy miscarriage sought for a reproductive solution to bear a healthy child. Our study aimed to develop a customized preconception-to-neonate care trajectory to fulfill this clinical demand by integrating preimplantation genetic diagnosis(PGD), noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT), and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis(NIPD) into the strategy. Auditory and genetic diagnosis of the proband child was carried out to identify the disease causative mutations. The couple then received in-vitro-fertilization treatment, and eight embryos were obtained for day 5 biopsy. PGD was performed by short-tandem-repeat linkage analysis and Sanger sequencing of GJB2 gene. Transfer of a GJB2 c.235del C heterozygous embryo resulted in a singleton pregnancy. At the 13 th week of gestation, genomic DNA(g DNA) from the trio family and cell-free DNA(cf DNA) from maternal plasma were obtained for assessment of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2 mutations. NIPT and NIPD showed the absence of chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2-associated disease in the fetus, which was later confirmed by invasive procedures and postnatal genetic/auditory diagnosis. | 2 | TiO_2/Schwertmannite nanocomposites as superior co-catalysts in heterogeneous photo-Fenton process显示文摘The heterogeneous photo-Fenton reaction is an effective technique in combating organic contaminants for both soil and water remediation,and extensive studies have focused on enhancing its efficiency and reducing its costs.In this work,we developed novel photoFenton catalysts by simply milling commercially available TiO_2(P25)with Schwertmannite(Sh),a natural iron-oxyhydroxysulfate nanomineral.We expect that the photo-generated electrons from TiO_2could continuously migrate to Sh,which then could enhance the separation of electron-hole pairs on TiO_2and accelerate the reduction of Fe(III)to Fe(II)on Sh,leading to high degradation efficiency of the target organic contaminants.SEM and TEM results showed the distribution of TiO_2on Sh surface for the nanocomposites(TiO_2/Sh).Under simulated sunlight irradiation,the much higher content of Fe(II)was determined on TiO_2/Sh than on Sh via a common method in the iron ore,and the consumption of H_2O_2and the production of·OH were more significant in the TiO_2/Sh system than those in the TiO_2and Sh systems.These results well support our hypothesis that the photo-generated electrons could migrate from TiO_2to Sh on the composites,and can also explain the much higher degradation efficiency of Rhodamine B(RhB)in the TiO_2/Sh system.Besides,TiO_2/Sh had lower Fe dissolution as compared with Sh,and retained high catalytic stability after four repeated cycles.Above merits of the TiO_2/Sh composites,in combining with their simple synthesis method and low-cost property,indicated that they should have promising applications as heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts. | Yanping Zhu Chun Zeng Runliang Zhu Yin Xu Xingyan Wang Huijun Zhou Jianxi Zhu Hongping He | 2019 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,6: | 5 |

| 5 | Epidemic Characteristics,High-Risk Areas and Space-Time Clusters of Human Brucellosis—China,2020-2021显示文摘Introduction:Analyze the recent epidemiological and temporal-spatial characteristics of human brucellosis in China and provide information for adjusting strategies for brucellosis control.Methods:Human brucellosis data were obtained from the National Notifiable Disease Reporting System(NNDRS).A geographical information system(GIS)was used to visualize high-risk areas with annual incidence based on county(district)polygons.The space-time scan statistic(STSS)was applied to detect the space-time clusters of human brucellosis.Results:A total of 69,767 cases were reported from 2,083 counties in the mainland of China in 2021,a 47.7%increase from 2020(47,425).About 95.5%of the total cases were centralized in northern China and 31.8%in Inner Mongolia(IM).The number of counties with an incidence exceeding 100 per 100,000 was 34 in 2020 and 65 in 2021.From 2020 to 2021,24 space-time clusters were detected.The two primary clusters were located northeast of IM,including 109 counties.The secondary clusters affected 208 counties in 2020 and spread to 297 counties in 2021,the majority of which were located in the middle of IM,exhibiting a trend spreading west from IM to neighboring provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs).Conclusions:From 2020 to 2021,the incidence of human brucellosis nationwide was exponential,demonstrating distinct spatiotemporal characteristics.Space-time clusters were located in IM and neighboring areas.Therefore,considerable efforts are required to curb this momentum. | Huimin Yang Quilan Chen Yu Li Di Mu Yanping Zhang Wenwu Yin | 2023 | China CDC weekly2023,5,1: | 3 |
| 6 | Effects of exogenous ABA application on post-anthesis dry matter redistribution and grain starch accumulation of winter wheat with different staygreen characteristics显示文摘The objective of this study was to investigate whether and how exogenous abscisic acid(ABA)is involved in mediating starch accumulation in the grain and redistribution of carbohydrates during grain filling of two wheat cultivars with different staygreen characteristics.At blooming stage,plants of Wennong 6(a staygreen cultivar)and Jimai 20(control)were sprayed with10 mg L-1abscisic acid(ABA)for 3 days.The application of ABA significantly(P<0.05)increased grain filling rate,starch accumulation rate and content,remobilization of dry matters to kernels,and 1000-grain weight of the two cultivars.Exogenous ABA markedly(P<0.05)increased grain yield at maturity,and Wennong 6 and Jiami 20 showed 14.14%and 4.86%higher compared yield than the control.Dry matter accumulation after anthesis of Wennong 6 was also significantly(P<0.05)influenced by exogenous ABA,whereas that of Jimai 20 was unchanged.Application of ABA increased endogenous zeatin riboside(ZR)content 7 days after anthesis(DAA),and spraying ABA significantly increased endogenous indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)and ABA contents from 7 to 21 DAA and decreased gibberellin(GA3)content at 14 DAA,but increased GA3content from 21 to 35 DAA.The results suggested that increased yield of staygreen was due to greater starch assimilation owing to a higher filling rate and longer grain-filling duration. | Dongqing Yang Yongli Luo Yingli Ni Yanping Yin Weibing Yang Dianliang Peng Zhengyong Cui Zhenlin Wang | 2014 | The Crop Journal2014,2,Z1: | 3 |

| 10 | Variation of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunits and glutenin macropolymer particle distribution in wheat grains produced under different water regimes显示文摘The components and contents of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunits(HMW-GS) in wheat grains affect glutenin macropolymer(GMP) size, which is considered an important flour quality trait in wheat. Four wheat cultivars(Shiluan 02-1, Yannong 24, Jinan 17 and Lumai 21) with different end-use qualities were used to investigate the HMW-GS and GMP contents, and the GMP particle distributions in grain produced under irrigated and rainfed conditions. The percent volume of GMP particles and the contents of HMW-GS and GMP were affected by genotype and soil water. Genotype × soil water interaction was significant only for GMP particles <12 μm and >100 μm in the growing season of 2010–2011. Irrigated and rainfed conditions had different influences on the GMP particle distribution in the four cultivars. Compared to irrigated treatment, the rainfed treatment had higher accumulations of HMW-GS and GMP, especially in cultivars Yannong 24, Jinan 17 and Lumai 21. Rainfed conditions also increased the proportion of large size particles of GMP, indicating that different water regimes had an effect on grain quality. | 13 | Ca^(2+)-dependent TaCCD1 cooperates with TaSAUR215 to enhance plasma membrane H^(+)-ATPase activity and alkali stress tolerance by inhibiting PP2C-mediated dephosphorylation of TaHA2 in wheat显示文摘Alkali stress is a major constraint for crop production in many regions of saline-alkali land.However,little is known about the mechanisms through which wheat responds to alkali stress.In this study,we identified a calcium ion-binding protein from wheat,TaCCD1,which is critical for regulating the plasma membrane(PM)H^(+)-ATPase-mediated alkali stress response.PM H+-ATPase activity is closely related to alkali tolerance in the wheat variety Shanrong 4(SR4).We found that two D-clade type 2C protein phosphatases,TaPP2C.D1 and TaPP2C.D8(TaPP2C.D1/8),negatively modulate alkali stress tolerance by dephosphorylating the penultimate threonine residue(Thr926)of TaHA2 and thereby inhibiting PM H+-ATPase activity.Alkali stress induces the expression of TaCCD1 in SR4,and TaCCD1 interacts with TaSAUR215,an early auxin-responsive protein.These responses are both dependent on calcium signaling triggered by alkali stress.TaCCD1 enhances the inhibitory effect of TaSAUR215 on TaPP2C.D1/8 activity,thereby promoting the activity of the PM H^(+)-ATPase TaHA2 and alkali stress tolerance in wheat.Functional and genetic analyses verified the effects of these genes in response to alkali stress,indicating that TaPP2C.D1/8 function downstream of TaSAUR215 and TaCCD1.Collectively,this study uncovers a new signaling pathway that regulates wheat responses to alkali stress,in which Ca^(2+)-dependent TaCCD1 cooperates with TaSAUR215 to enhance PM H+-ATPase activity and alkali stress tolerance by inhibiting TaPP2C.D1/8-mediated dephosphorylation of PM H+-ATPase TaHA2 in wheat. | Minghan Cui Yanping Li Jianhang Li Fengxiang Yin Xiangyu Chen Lumin Qin Lin Wei Guangmin Xia Shuwei Liu | 2023 | Molecular Plant2023,16,3: | 1 |
