1New serum biomarkers for detection of HBV-induced liver cirrhosis using SELDI protein chip technology显示文摘AIM: To find new serum biomarkers for liver cirrhosis (LC) in chronic carriers of hepatitis B virus (HBV).METHODS: Surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (SELDI-TOF) mass spectrometry was used to discover biomarkers for differentiating HBV induced LC from non-cirrhotic cohorts. A training population of 25 patients with HBV-induced LC, 20 patients with HCC, and 25 closely age-matched healthy men, was studied.RESULTS: Two biomarkers with Mr 7 772 and 3 933 were detected in sera of non-cirrhotic cohorts, but not in patients with HBV-induced LC. A sensitivity of 80% for all LC patients,a specificity of 81.8% for all non-cirrhotic cohorts and a positive predictive value of 75% for the study population were obtained.CONCLUSION: These two serum biomarkers for HBV-induced LC might be used for diagnosis and assessment of disease progression.Xiao-DongZhu Wei-HuaZhang Cheng-LinLi YangXu Wei-JiangLiang PoTien 2004World Journal of Gastroenterology2004,10,16:37
2APPLICATION OF LORNOXICAM TO PATIENT-CONTROLLED ANALGESIA IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING ABDOMINAL SURGERIES显示文摘Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of lornoxicam, one non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) in patients undergoing abdominal surgeries. Methods Thirty-nine patients scheduled for abdominal surgeries were randomly assigned to different PCA treatment groups using either lornoxicam or fentanyl postoperatively. Pain intensity difference (PID) and sum of pain intensity difference (SPID) were used to assess the analgesic efficacy of both drugs during a 24-hour period. Results The analgesic efficacy of lornoxicam is 1/66 of fentanyl, which was shown by SPID value of 3.250 and 3.058, respectively (P > 0.05). Lornoxicam caused fewer adverse events than fentanyl (33% vs. 68%, P < 0.05). 3Eye Irritation Caused by Formaldehyde as an Indoor Air Pollution——A Controlled Human Exposure Experiment显示文摘Obejective The present study focuses on health assessment of wood based panels which are widely used in interior decoration practices over the recent years in China. Formaldehyde has been identified as chemical indicator of (IAO) and an indoor air pollutant. To test its health effects experiment was undertaken. Method A small environmental test chamber (60/L) was used as the generator of emission gas from new panels, and was operating at a temperature of 22.7±0.6℃ and a humidity of 44.4±2.5 % with an air exchange rate of 1.0±0.15h -1. On the three experimental days the values of product loading in chamber were 4, 2 and 6 m2/m3, respectively. Eight people were selected randomly from the students and employees of Wuhan Health and Anti-epidemic Station as subjects, with an average age of 21.9±5.9 years, and a gender ratio of 1:1, and two of them were smokers (one male and one female). The subjects’ eyes were exposed to formaldehyde through a pair of goggles. Each goggle had its flow inlet and outlet, and connected to chamber exhaust of emission gas and to an exhaust from the room. The exposure time was very short, just 5 minutes and the formaldehyde doses were at 1.65±0.01, 2.99±0.07 and 4.31±0.02 ppm. A 60-mm linear visual analogue rating scales was used to measure the intensity of sensory eye irritation and a video tape recorder was used to record eye blinking frequency. Results The results demonstrated that tests of sensory eye irritation and eye blinking can be used for materials testing, and that a dose-effect as well as a time-variance of the effect can be measured. 5Serial Analysis of Gene Expression in Monascus aurantiacus Producing Citrinin显示文摘To construct a tag expression library of Monascus aurantiacus that could produce citrinin maximally on the thirteenth (0.966 mg/mL) day in the submerged culture. Methods Total RNA was extracted from the mycelium, cDNA was synthesized using the SuperScript choice system, and then, a SAGE library was successfully constructed according to the MicroSAGE method. Results Five hundred and ninety eight clones were obtained in SAGE library, and 120 clones were picked out randomly for identification and sequencing purpose. Eighty nine clones had positive inserts, 26 clones had no inserts and the remaining 5 clones had no site of NlaⅢ enzyme in inserts. There were seven repeated clones. Conclusion With the aid of SAGE2000 software, 901 tags were obtained from 89 clones, representing 686 unique transcripts. 7Enantioselective assembly of multi-layer 3D chirality显示文摘The first enantioselective assembly of sandwich-shaped organo molecules has been achieved by conducting dual asymmetric Suzuki-Miyaura couplings and nine other reactions.This work also presents the first fully C-C anchored multi-layer 3D chirality with optically pure enantiomers.As confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis that this chiral framework is featured by a unique C2-symmetry in which a nearly parallel fashion consisting of three layers:top,middle and bottom aromatic rings.Unlike the documented planar or axial chirality,the present chirality shows its top and bottom layers restrict each other from free rotation,i.e.,this multi-layer 3D chirality would not exist if either top or bottom layer is removed.Nearly all multi-layered compounds showed strong luminescence of different colors under UV irradiation,and several randomly selected samples displayed aggregation-induced emission(AIE)properties.This work is believed to have broad impacts on chemical,medicinal and material sciences including optoelectronic materials in future.Guanzhao Wu Yangxue Liu Zhen Yang Tao Jiang Nandakumar Katakam Hossein Rouh Liulei Ma Yao Tang Sultan Ahmed Anis URahman Hongen Huang Daniel Unruh Guigen Li 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:1

15Biological regulation on synovial fibroblast and the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis by nobiletin-loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids cargo tank显示文摘The hyperplasia and destruction of synovial tissue have an important impact on the development of rheumatoid arthritis(RA), the abnormal proliferation and migration of synovial fibroblast in synovial tissue is similar to tumor cells. Targeting anomalous synovial fibroblast and designing a high bioavailability nano drug delivery system can reduce the dosage for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and it is of great significance to reduce toxic and side effects and improve curative effect. In this experiment, the nobiletin-loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids cargo tank was established, carrying antiinflammatory small molecule monomer drug nobiletin with minimal bioavailability. 16Minimally invasive techniques for lateral maxillary sinus floor elevation: small lateral window and one-stage surgery—a 2–5-year retrospective study显示文摘This study aimed to introduce a minimally invasive technique for maxillary sinus floor elevation using the lateral approach(lSFE)and to determine the factors that influence the stability of the grafted area in the sinus cavity.Thirty patients(30 implants)treated with lSFE using minimally invasive techniques from 2015 to 2019 were included in the study.Five aspects of the implant(central,mesial,distal,buccal,and palatal bone heights[BHs])were measured using cone-beam computed tomography(CBCT)before implant surgery,immediately after surgery(T0),6 months after surgery(T1),and at the last follow-up visit(T2).Patients’characteristics were collected.A small bone window(height,(4.40±0.74)mm;length,(6.26±1.03)mm)was prepared.No implant failed during the follow-up period(3.67±1.75)years.Three of the 30 implants exhibited perforations.Changes in BH of the five aspects of implants showed strong correlations with each other and BH decreased dramatically before second-stage surgery.Residual bone height(RBH)did not significantly influence BH changes,whereas smoking status and type of bone graft materials were the potentially influential factors.During the approximate three-year observation period,lSFE with a minimally invasive technique demonstrated high implant survival rate and limited bone reduction in grafted area.In conclusion,lSFE using minimally invasive techniques was a viable treatment option.Patients who were nonsmokers and whose sinus cavity was filled with deproteinized bovine bone mineral(DBBM)had significantly limited bone resorption in grafted area.Shaojingya Gao Yao Jiang Yangxue Yao Songhang Li Xiaoxiao Cai 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,3:0
17High-frequency characterization of high-speed modulators and photodetectors in a link with low-speed photonic sampling显示文摘We propose a low-speed photonic sampling for independent high-frequency characterization of a Mach–Zehnder modulator(MZM)and a photodetector(PD)in an optical link.A low-speed mode-locked laser diode(MLLD)provides an ultrawideband optical stimulus with scalable frequency range,working as the photonic sampling source of the link.The uneven spectrum lines of the MLLD are firstly characterized with symmetric modulation within the interesting frequency range.Then,the electro-optic modulated signals are down-converted to the first Nyquist frequency range,yielding the self-referenced extraction of modulation depth and half-wave voltage of the MZM without correcting the responsivity fluctuation of the PD in the link.Finally,the frequency responsivity of the PD is self-referenced measured under null modulation of the MZM.As frequency responses of the MZM and the PD can be independently obtained,our method allows self-referenced high-frequency measurement for a high-speed optical link.In the proof-of-concept experiment,a 96.9 MS/s MLLD is used for measuring a MZM and a PD within the frequency range up to 50 GHz.The consistency between our method and the conventional method verifies that the ultra-wideband and self-referenced high-frequency characterization of high-speed MZMs and PDs.Mengke Wang Shangjian Zhang Zhao Liu Xuyan Zhang Yutong He Yangxue Ma Yali Zhang Zhiyao Zhang Yong Liu 2021Journal of Semiconductors2021,42,4:0

20Effect of Recombinant Prothymosin α on Secretion of IFN—γ IFN—α and TNF—α in vitro显示文摘Aim:To study the effect of prothymosin α(Pro Tα)as a fusion protein on the secetion of INF-γ,IFN-αand TNF-α in vitro.Methods:The in vitro study was carried out on the cultured of splenocytes,splenic and peritoneal macrophages isolated from Balb/c mice.Splenocytes were incubated with various concentrations of Pro Tα(1×10^-7-1×10^-10mol·L^-1) with or without Con A(5μg·mL^-1) for 72h.Splenic and peritoeal macrophages were respectively treated with Pro Tα(1×10^-7-1×10^-10mol.L^-1) in the presence of LPS(10μg· mL^-1) for 24h.Then INF-γ′s,INF-α′s and TNF-α′s levels in the supernatant were deteced by ELISA,Results:Pro Tα(1×10^-7)mol.L^-1) was found to obviously in crease INF-γ level(P<0.05) in the supernatant of splenocytes compared with the control group.Moreover,Pro Tα(1×10^-7mol.L^-1) significantly induced the secretion of INF-α(P<0.01) and TNF-α(P<0.01) in splenic and peritoneal macrophages.Conchusion:In vitro,Pro Tα could increase the secretion of IFN-γ,IFN-α and TNF-α.QIULei GUOBao-yu MIAOHong DAOShu-yan ZHANGRan YUANPeng-qun YANGXu 2003Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Sciences2003,12,1:0
