1Application of ^(137)Cs fingerprinting technique to interpreting sediment production records from reservoir deposits in a small catchment of the Hilly Loess Plateau,China显示文摘According to variations of 137Cs and clay contents, 44 flood couplets were identified in a profile of res- ervoir deposit with a vertical length of 28.12 m in the Yuntaishan Gully. Couplet 27 at the middle of the profile had the highest average 137Cs content of 12.65 Bq·kg?1, which indicated the 1963s' deposits, then 137Cs content decreased both downward and upward in the profile. The second top and bottom couplets had average 137Cs contents of 2.15 Bq·kg?1 and 0.92 Bq·kg?1, respectively. By integrated analysis of reservoir construction and management history, variations of 137Cs contents over the profile, sediment yields of flood couplets and rainfall data during the period of 1958-1970, individual storms related to the flood couplets were identified. 44 floods with a total sediment yield of 2.36×104 m3 occurred and flood events in a year varied between 1 and 10 times during the period of 1960-1970. 7-10 flood events occurred during the wet period of 1961-1964 with very wet autumn, while only 1-2 events during the dry period of 1965-1969. Average annual specific sediment yield was 1.29×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Yuntaishan Gully during the period of 1960-1970, which was slightly higher than 1.11 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Upper Yanhe River Basin above the Ganguyi Hydrological Station and slightly lower than 1.40 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the nearby Zhifang Gully during the same period. 5Cell wallβ-1,4-galactan regulated by the BPC1/BPC2-GALS1 module aggravates salt sensitivity in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘Salinity severely reduces plant growth and limits agricultural productivity.Dynamic changes and rearrangement of the plant cell wall is an important response to salt stress,but relatively little is known about the biological importance of specific cell wall components in the response.Here,we demonstrate a specific function ofβ-1,4-galactan in salt hypersensitivity.We found that salt stress induces the accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan in root cell walls by up regulating the expression of GALACTAN SYNTHASE 1(GALS1),which encodes aβ-1,4-galactan synthase.The accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan negatively affects salt tolerance.Exogenous application of D-galactose(D-Gal)causes an increase inβ-1,4-galactan levels in the wild type and GALS1 mutants,especially in GALS1 overexpressors,which correlated with the aggravated salt hypersensitivity.Furthermore,we discovered that the BARLEY B RECOMBINANT/BASIC PENTACYSTEINE transcription factors BPC1/BPC2 positively regulate plant salt tolerance by repressing GALS1 expression andβ-1,4-galactan accumulation.Genetic analysis suggested that GALS1 is genetically epistatic to BPC1/BPC2 with respect to the control of salt sensitivity as well as accumulation ofβ-1,4-galactan.Taken together,our results reveal a new regulatory mechanism by whichβ-1,4-galactan regulated by the BPC1/BPC2-GALS1 module aggravates salt sensitivity in Arabidopsis thaliana.Jingwei Yan Ya Liu Lan Yang Huan He Yun Huang Lin Fang Henrik Vibe Scheller Mingyi Jiang Aying Zhang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:3
6Overview of Thrust Ripple Suppression Technique fbr Linear Motors显示文摘Direct-drive actuators,linear motors are widely used in many industrial and military applications,particularly in high-end manufacturing due to advantages of high force density,rapid dynamic response,and low thermal losses.Permanent magnet linear synchronous motors(PMLSMs)can dramatically improve the dynamic and static performance of the motion system.However,as one of the most critical sources of error,the thrust ripple of linear motors can deteriorate performance and even excite the mechanical resonance.Thrust ripple suppression technology had received broad interest and has been researched extensively.Therefore,this paper summarizes different types of thrust ripple suppression methods and their principles are analyzed in detail.Firstly,structural optimization methods are introduced to suppress the thrust ripple and increase the precision of the thrust.Secondly,control methods are described to decrease the velocity fluctuation caused by the thrust ripple.Thirdly,a combination of structural design and control method is presented to compensate the ripple,meaning high order harmonic components are eliminated by permanent magnets(PM)skewing technology and low order harmonic are compensated by a linearization observer.Finally,conclusions are made regarding thrust ripple suppression technology and the future trend is proposed.Mingyi Wang Liyi Li Rui Yang 2016Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2016,2,1:2
7Organ-specific efficacy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients treated with first-line single-agent immune checkpoint inhibitors显示文摘Background:Response to immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)is affected by multiple factors.This study aimed to explore whether sites of metastasis are associated with clinical outcomes of ICIs in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients.Methods::The data of NSCLC patients with high programmed death-ligand 1 expression and good performance status receiving first-line ICIs monotherapy from Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital between May 2019 and July 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.Metastatic sites included liver,bone,brain,adrenal gland,pleura,and contralateral lung.Progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)were compared between different metastatic sites and metastatic burden by the Kaplan-Meier method.Organ-specific disease control rate(OSDCR)of different individual metastatic sites was evaluated.Results:Forty NSCLC patients meeting the criteria were identified.The presence of liver metastasis was significantly associated with shorter PFS(3.1 vs.15.5 months,P=0.0005)and OS(11.1 months vs.not reached,P=0.0016).Besides,patients with bone metastasis tend to get shorter PFS(4.2 vs.15.5 months,P=0.0532)rather than OS(P=0.6086).Moreover,the application of local treatment could numerically prolong PFS in patients with brain metastasis(15.5 vs.4.3 months,P=0.1894).More metastatic organs involved were associated with inferior PFS(P=0.0052)but not OS(P=0.0791).The presence of liver metastasis or bone metastasis was associated with more metastatic organs(Phi[φ]:0.516,P=0.001).The highest OSDCR was observed in lung(15/17),and the lowest in the liver(1/4).Conclusions:Metastases in different anatomical locations may be associated with different clinical outcomes and local tumor response to ICIs in NSCLC.ICIs monotherapy shows limited efficacy in patients with liver and bone metastasis,thus patients with this type of metastasis might require more aggressive combination strategies.Jiayi Deng Ming Gao Qing Gou Chongrui Xu Honghong Yan Mingyi Yang Jiakang Li Xiaorong Yang Xuewu Wei Qing Zhou 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,12:2

18Ultrathin curved PdNiRu nanosheets as bifunctional catalysts for oxygen reduction and ethylene glycol oxidation显示文摘Pd-based metallic nanosheets with advanced physicochemical properties have been widely prepared and employed in various electrocatalytic reactions.However,few concerns were focused on their multiple performances in different electrocatalysis.Here,highly curved and ultrathin PdNiRu nanosheets(NSs)are developed by facile wet-chemistry strategy and exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance toward both oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR).Owing to the synergistically structural(e.g.,ultrathin,curved,defects/steps-rich)and compositional(ternary alloy)advantages,PdNiRu NSs exhibited enhanced ORR and EGOR specific/mass activities and better stability/durability than control electrocatalysts.The specific activity(5.52 mA·cm^(−2))and mass activity(1.13 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))of the PdNiRu NSs in ORR are 4.8 and 3.4 times as the ones of commercial Pt/C,respectively.The mass activity of PdNiRu NSs(3.86 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1))in EGOR is 2.6 times as commercial Pd/C(1.51 A·mg_(Pd)^(−1)).This study is helpful for the development of desired electrocatalysts with multi-functional application in practical fuel cells.Xianzeng Li Tingyu Lu Huan Pang Mingyi Zhang Dongdong Xu Lin Xu Min Han Jun Yang 2024Nano Research2024,17,5:0

20OsDMI3-mediated OsUXS3 phosphorylation improves oxidative stress tolerance by modulating OsCATB protein abundance in rice显示文摘Calcium(Ca^(2+))/calmodulin(CaM)-dependent protein kinase(CCaMK)is an important positive regulator of antioxidant defenses and tolerance against oxidative stress.However,the underlying molecular mechanisms are largely unknown.Here,we report that the rice(Oryza sativa)CCa MK(OsDMI3)physically interacts with and phosphorylates OsUXS3,a cytosol-localized UDP-xylose synthase.Genetic and biochemical evidence demonstrated that OsUXS3 acts downstream of OsDMI3 to enhance the oxidative stress tolerance conferred by higher catalase(CAT)activity.Indeed,OsUXS3 interacted with CAT isozyme B(OsCATB),and this interaction was required to increase OsCATB protein abundance under oxidative stress conditions.Furthermore,we showed that OsDMI3 phosphorylates OsUXS3 on residue Ser-245,thereby further promoting the interaction between OsUXS3 and OsCATB.Our results indicate that OsDMI3 promotes the association of OsUXS3 with OsCATB to enhance CAT activity under oxidative stress.These findings reveal OsUXS3 as a direct target of OsDMI3 and demonstrate its involvement in antioxidant defense.Lan Ni Qingwen Wang Chao Chen Shuang Wang Tao Shen Jingjing Jiang Zhenzhen Cui Kaiyue Li Qiqing Yang Mingyi Jiang 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,5:0
