1Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 2The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 3Revealing the behavior of soliton buildup in a mode-locked laser显示文摘Real-time spectroscopy based on an emerging time-stretch technique can map the spectral information of optical waves into the time domain,opening several fascinating explorations of nonlinear dynamics in mode-locked lasers.However,the self-starting process of mode-locked lasers is quite sensitive to environmental perturbation,which causes the transient behaviors of lasers to deviate from the true buildup process of solitons.We optimize the laser system to improve its stability,which suppresses the Q-switched lasing induced by environmental perturbation.We,therefore,demonstrate the first observation of the entire buildup process of solitons in a mode-locked laser,revealing two possible pathways to generate the temporal solitons.One pathway includes the dynamics of raised relaxation oscillation,quasimode-locking stage,spectral beating behavior,and finally the stable single-soliton mode-locking.The other pathway contains,however,an extra transient bound-state stage before the final single-pulse modelocking operation.Moreover,we propose a theoretical model to predict the buildup time of solitons,which agrees well with the experimental results.Our findings can bring real-time insights into ultrafast fiber laser design and optimization,as well as promote the application of fiber laser.Xueming Liu Yudong Cui 2019Advanced Photonics2019,1,1:9
4A constitutive model coupling damage and material anisotropy for wide stress triaxiality显示文摘A constitutive model that can describe the damage evolution of anisotropic metal sheets during the complex forming processes which experience wide stress triaxiality history is essential to accurately predict the deformation and rupture behaviors of the processes.In this study,a modified Lemaitre damage criterion which couples with the anisotropic Barlat 89 yield function is established.The effects of stress triaxiality,Lode parameter and shear stress on damage accumulation are considered in the constitutive model.The model is numerically implemented and applied to fracture prediction in tensile tests with different stress triaxialities and a complex deformation process with wide stress triaxiality history.The good consistency of predictions and experiments indicates that the modified Lemaitre damage model has excellent fracture prediction ability.Finally,the accuracy of the model is analyzed and discussed.Rui LI Mei ZHAN Zebang ZHENG Hongrui ZHANG Xiaolei CUI Wei LV Yudong LEI 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,12:7
5Revelation of the birth and extinction dynamics of solitons in SWNT-mode-locked fiber lasers显示文摘The dispersive Fourier transform(DFT) technique opens a fascinating pathway to explore ultrafast non-repetitive events and has been employed to study the build-up process of mode-locked lasers. However, the shutting process for the mode-locked fiber laser seems to be beyond the scope of researchers, and the starting dynamics under nearzero dispersion remains unclear. Here, the complete evolution dynamics(from birth to extinction) of the conventional soliton(CS), stretched pulse(SP), and dissipative soliton(DS) are investigated by using the DFT technique.CS, SP, and DS fiber lasers mode locked by single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) are implemented via engineering the intracavity dispersion map. The relaxation oscillation can always be observed before the formation of stable pulse operation due to the inherent advantage of SWNT, but it exhibits distinct evolution dynamics in the starting and shutting processes. The shutting processes are dependent on the dispersion condition and turn-off time, which is against common sense. Some critical phenomena are also observed, including transient complex spectrum broadening and frequency-shift interaction of SPs and picosecond pulses. 6Strontium modulates osteogenic activity of bone cement composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway显示文摘There is a need for synthetic grafts to reconstruct large bone defects using minimal invasive surgery.Our previous study showed that incorporation of Sr into bioactive borate glass cement enhanced the osteogenic capacity in vivo.However,the amount of Sr in the cement to provide an optimal combination of physicochemical properties and capacity to stimulate bone regeneration and the underlying molecular mechanism of this stimulation is yet to be determined.In this study,bone cements composed of bioactive borosilicate glass particles substituted with varying amounts of Sr(0 mol%to 12 mol%SrO)were created and evaluated in vitro and in vivo.The setting time of the cement increased with Sr substitution of the glass.Upon immersion in PBS,the cement degraded and converted more slowly to HA(hydroxyapatite)with increasing Sr substitution.The released Sr2+modulated the proliferation,differentiation,and mineralization of hBMSCs(human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells)in vitro.Osteogenic characteristics were optimally enhanced with cement(designated BG6Sr)composed of particles substituted with 6mol%SrO.When implanted in rabbit femoral condyle defects,BG6Sr cement supported better peri-implant bone formation and bone-implant contact,comparing to cements substituted with 0mol%or 9mol%SrO.The underlying mechanism is involved in the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs.These results indicate that BG6Sr cement has a promising combination of physicochemical properties and biological performance for minimally invasive healing of bone defects.Xu Cui Yadong Zhang Jianyun Wang Chengcheng Huang Yudong Wang Hongsheng Yang Wenlong Liu Ting Wang Deping Wang Guocheng Wang Changshun Ruan Dafu Chen William W.Lu Wenhai Huang Mohamed N.Rahaman Haobo Pan 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:3
7Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 12Nd-doped barium titanate ceramics with various Ti/Ba ratios prepared by sol-gel method显示文摘The Nd-doped BaTiO3 nanocrystalline powders and ceramics with different Ti/Ba ratios were prepared by sol-gel method. Phases and microstructures of the Nd-doped BaTiO3based powders and ceramics were characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM methods. The results revealed that the powders synthesized by sol-gel method were nanometer scale (30-60 nm)and were mainly composed of cubic BaTiO3 with a small amount of BaCO3. After sintering at high temperature, both cubic BaTiO3 and BaCO3 were transformed into tetrahedron BaTiO3 phase.The dielectric properties of the ceramics were also determined and the influence of Ti/Ba ratio on the dielectric properties was discussed. The Tc did not change with the variation of Ti/Ba ratio,while the εmax increased firstly and then decreased.
