Image segmentation of embryonic plant cell using pulse-coupled neural networks显示文摘Traditional image segmentation algorithms exhibit weak performance for plant cells which have complex structure. On the other hand, pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN) based on Eckhorn’s model of the cat visual cortex should be suitable to the segmentation of plant cell image. But the present theories cannot explain the relationship between the parameters of PCNN mathematical model and the effect of segmentation. Satisfactory results usually require time-consuming selection of experimental parameters. Mean-while, in a proper, selected parametric model, the number of iteration determines the segmented effect evaluated by visual judgment, which decreases the efficiency of image segmentation. To avoid these flaws, this note proposes a new PCNN algorithm for automatically segmenting plant embryonic cell image based on the maximum entropy principle. The algorithm produces a desirable result. In addition, a model with proper parameters can automatically determine the number of iteration, avoid visual judgment, | MA Yide DAI Rolan LI Lian WEI Lin | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,2: | 28
Circulating tumor cells:biology and clinical significance显示文摘Circulating tumor cells(CTCs)are tumor cells that have sloughed off the primary tumor and extravasate into and circulate in the blood.Understanding of the metastatic cascade of CTCs has tremendous potential for the identification of targets against cancer metastasis.Detecting these very rare CTCs among the massive blood cells is challenging. However, emerging technologies for CTCs detection have profoundly contributed to deepening investigation into the biology of CTCs and have facilitated their clinical application.Current technologies for the detection of CTCs are summarized herein, together with their advantages and disadvantages. The detection of CTCs is usually dependent on molecular markers, with the epithelial cell adhesion molecule being the most widely used, although molecular markers vary between different types of cancer.Properties associated with epithelial-tomesenchymal transition and stemness have been identified in CTCs,indicating their increased metastatic capacity.Only a small proportion of CTCs can survive and eventually initiate metastases, suggesting that an interaction and modulation between CTCs and the hostile blood microenvironment is essential for CTC metastasis.Single-cell sequencing of CTCs has been extensively investigated, and has enabled researchers to reveal the genome and transcriptome of CTCs.Herein,we also review the clinical applications of CTCs,especially for monitoring response to cancer treatment and in evaluating prognosis.Hence,CTCs have and will continue to contribute to providing significant insights into metastatic processes and will open new avenues for useful clinical applications. | Danfeng Lin Lesang Shen Meng Luo Kun Zhang Jinfan Li Qi Yang Fangfang Zhu Dan Zhou Shu Zheng Yiding Chen Jiaojiao Zhou | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,12: | 8
Safety modeling and protection for lithium-ion batteries based on artificial neural networks method under mechanical abuse显示文摘The safety of lithium-ion batteries under mechanical abuse has become one of the major obstacles affecting the development of electric vehicles. In this paper, the lithium-ion battery safety model under mechanical abuse conditions is proposed by the Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network(BP-ANN) optimized by the Genetic Algorithm(GA). By experimental and simulation results, the proposed method can effectively predict battery mechanical properties. The corresponding correlation coefficient is greater than 0.99, the failure warning model has more safety margin, and the average security margin is greater than 29%. The multi-source warning weight shows that the mechanical soft short-circuit has the greatest warning margin, followed by that of the soft short-circuit of the electrical signal. The thermal soft short-circuit has the lowest warning margin because of the low thermal conductivity. The qualitative simulation results of the battery module reveal that, when electric vehicles are subjected to mechanical abuse conditions, the rapid reduction in the state-of-charge(SOC) of the rear batteries can effectively increase the reliability of the battery module. The proposed safety model is important to protect the safety and stability of lithium-ion batteries, which is conducive to promoting new energy vehicles and protecting the environment. | LI YiDing WANG WenWei LIN Cheng ZUO FengHao | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,11: | 3
Mass‑Spring‑Damping Theory Based Equivalent Mechanical Model for Cylindrical Lithium‑ion Batteries under Mechanical Abuse显示文摘An equivalent mechanical model with the equivalent physical meaning of mass-spring-damping is proposed for cylindrical lithium-ion batteries through experiments and theory. The equivalent mechanical model of a cylindrical lithium-ion battery consists of a spring-damping parallel unit. Therefore,a spring-damping parallel unit connecting a damping unit in series is selected to construct the constitutive characteristics of the battery under mechanical abuse.Comparison results show that the equivalent mechanical model can more effectively describe the mechanical properties of the batteries than most cubic fitting models,of which the average relative error of the equivalent mechanical model under different states-of-charge is less than 6.75%.Combined with the proposed equivalent mechanical model, the failure process of the batteries was simulated and analyzed using LS-Dyna and HyperWorks.Under rigid rod tests, failure occurred at the core and bottom of the batteries;under hemispherical punch tests, failure occurred at the core and top, consistent with the experimental results. The average prediction error for the failure displacement under different abuse conditions is less than 4%in the simulations. The equivalent mechanical model requires only a few parameters and can be recognized easily. In the future, the model can be used in safety warning devices based on mechanical penetration. | Wenwei Wang Yiding Li Cheng Lin Sheng Yang | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2020,33,2: | 3
High-efficiency normal-incidence vertical p-i-n photodetectors on a germanium-on-insulator platform显示文摘In this paper, normal incidence vertical p-i-n photodetectors on a germanium-on-insulator(GOI) platform were demonstrated. The vertical p-i-n structure was realized by ion-implanting boron and arsenic at the bottom and top of the Ge layer, respectively, during the GOI fabrication. Abrupt doping profiles were verified in the transferred high-quality Ge layer. The photodetectors exhibit a dark current density of ~47 mA∕cm^2 at-1 V and an optical responsivity of 0.39 A/W at 1550 nm, which are improved compared with state-of-the-art demonstrated GOI photodetectors. An internal quantum efficiency of ~97% indicates excellent carrier collection efficiency of the device. The photodetectors with mesa diameter of 60 μm exhibit a 3 dB bandwidth of ~1 GHz, which agrees well with theoretical calculations. The bandwidth is expected to improve to ~32 GHz with mesa diameter of 10 μm. This work could be similarly extended to GOI platforms with other intermediate layers and potentially enrich the functional diversity of GOI for near-infrared sensing and communication integrated with Ge CMOS and mid-infrared photonics. | YIDING LIN KWANG HONG LEE SHUYU BAO XIN GUO HONG WANG JURGEN MICHEL CHUAN SENG TAN | 2017 | Photonics Research2017,5,6: | 2

Whole-body PET tracking of a D-dodecapeptide and its radiotheranostic potential for PD-L1 overexpressing tumors显示文摘Peptides that are composed of dextrorotary(D)-amino acids have gained increasing attention as a potential therapeutic class. However, our understanding of the in vivo fate of D-peptides is limited. This highlights the need for whole-body,quantitative tracking of D-peptides to better understand how they interact with the living body. Here,we used mouse models to track the movement of a programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)-targeting D-dodecapeptide antagonist(DPA)using positron emission tomography(PET).More specifically,we profiled the metabolic routes of[^(64)Cu]DPA and investigated the tumor engagement of[^(64)Cu/^(68)Ga]DPA in mouse models. Our results revealed that intact[^(64)Cu/^(68)Ga]DPA was primarily eliminated by the kidneys and had a notable accumulation in tumors. Moreover,a single dose of[^(64)Cu]DPA effectively delayed tumor growth and improved the survival of mice.Collectively, these results not only deepen our knowledge of the in vivo fate of D-peptides,but also underscore the utility of D-peptides as radiopharmaceuticals. | Kuan Hu Wenyu Wu Lin Xie Hao Geng Yiding Zhang Masayuki Hanyu Lulu Zhang Yinghuan Liu Kotaro Nagatsu Hisashi Suzuki Jialin Guo Yundong Wu Zigang Li Feng Wang Mingrong Zhang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3: | 1

A novel monoacylglycerol lipase-targeted^(18)F-labeled probe for positron emission tomography imaging of brown adipose tissue in the energy network显示文摘Monoacylglycerol lipase(MAGL)constitutes a serine hydrolase that orchestrates endocannabinoid homeostasis and exerts its function by catalyzing the degradation of 2-arachidonoylglycerol(2-AG)to arachidonic acid(AA).As such, selective inhibition of MAGL represents a potential therapeutic and diagnostic approach to various pathologies including neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic diseases and cancers.Based on a unique 4-piperidinyl azetidine diamide scaffold,we developed a reversible and peripheral-specific radiofluorinated MAGL PET ligand[^(18)F]FEPAD.Pharmacokinetics and binding studies on[^(18)F]FEPAD revealed its outstanding specificity and selectivity towards MAGL in brown adipose tissue(BAT)–a tissue that is known to be metabolically active. We employed[^(18)F]FEPAD in PET studies to assess the abundancy of MAGL in BAT deposits of mice and found a remarkable degree of specific tracer binding in the BAT,which was confirmed by post-mortem tissue analysis.Given the negative regulation of endocannabinoids on the metabolic BAT activity, our study supports the concept that dysregulation of MAGL is likely linked to metabolic disorders.Further,we now provide a suitable imaging tool that allows non-invasive assessment of MAGL in BAT deposits, thereby paving the way for detailed mechanistic studies on the role of BAT in endocannabinoid system(ECS)-related pathologies. | Ran Cheng Masayuki Fujinaga Jing Yang Jian Rong Ahmed Haider Daisuke Ogasawara Richard S.Van Tuo Shao Zhen Chen Xiaofei Zhang Erick R.Calderon Leon Yiding Zhang Wakana Mori Katsushi Kumata Tomoteru Yamasaki Lin Xie Shaofa Sun Lu Wang Chongzhao Ran Yihan Shao Benjamin Cravatt Lee Josephson Ming-Rong Zhang Steven H.Liang | 2022 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,11: | 0
Safety and Current Status of the COVID-19 Vaccine among Patients with Breast cancer: A Cross-Sectional Study from China显示文摘In this study,we aimed to explore the safety and vaccination coverage data of Chinese patients with breast cancer receiving coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)vaccination.The patients were recruited from 41 hospitals across 20 Chinese provinces. The vaccination coverage was approximately 22.4%,and the frequency of total adverse events was 13.3%after the first dose and 9.9%after the second dose. The most frequent adverse reaction within 14 days of the first dose was local pain(5.7%).Unvaccinated patients were very likely to reject the vaccine rather than be hesitant in patients with old age(odds ratio[OR],1.238;95%confidence interval[CI],1.101-1.391),chronic disease history(OR,1.189;95%CI,1.057-1.337),and cancer relapse(OR,1.398;95%CI,1.233-1.585).Of the unvaccinated patients with breast cancer,54.1%opted to receive COVID-19 vaccines if more data were available.Considering the safety but low vaccination coverage for breast cancer, increased positive attitudes and acceptance toward COVID-19 vaccines are important. | Shaohua Zhang Jianbin Li Ruonan Xu Qianjun Chen Gang Sun Ying Lin Feng Jin Xinlan Liu Zhimin Fan Yiding Chen Yali Cao Xinzheng Li Jianyun Nie Guiying Xu Xiaojia Wang Yuee Teng Tao Sun Hong Liu Jing Luo Cuizhi Geng Man Li Ting Luo Yinhua Liu Fu-Sheng Wang Zefei Jiang | 2023 | Infectious Diseases & Immunity2023,3,3: | 0
Non-invasive photoacoustic computed tomography of rat heart anatomy and function显示文摘Complementary to mainstream cardiac imaging modalities for preclinical research, photoacoustic computed tomography(PACT)can provide functional optical contrast with high imaging speed and resolution. However,PACT has not been demonstrated to reveal the dynamics of whole cardiac anatomy or vascular system without surgical procedure(thoracotomy)for tissue penetration. Here,we achieved non-invasive imaging of rat hearts using the recently developed three-dimensional PACT(3D-PACT)platform,demonstrating the regulated illumination and detection schemes to reduce the effects of optical attenuation and acoustic distortion through the chest wall;thereby, enabling unimpeded visualization of the cardiac anatomy and intracardiac hemodynamics following rapidly scanning the heart within 10 s.We further applied 3D-PACT to reveal distinct cardiac structural and functional changes among the healthy, hypertensive, and obese rats, with optical contrast to uncover differences in cardiac chamber size, wall thickness, and hemodynamics.Accordingly,3D-PACT provides high imaging speed and nonionizing penetration to capture the whole heart for diagnosing the animal models, holding promises for clinical translation to cardiac imaging of human neonates. | Li Lin Xin Tong Susana Cavallero Yide Zhang Shuai Na Rui Cao Tzung K.Hsiai Lihong V.Wang | 2023 | Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,1: | 0
Study on the Toxicity of Acetochlor to Loaches显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to investigate the toxic effect of acetochlor in loaches. [Methods]Loaches were put into the acetochlor solution with concentrations of 0,0. 062 5,0. 125,0. 25,0. 5 and 1 μl/L,respectively. The effects on dismutase( SOD),peroxidase( POD),catalase( CAT) and glutathione( GSH) activity and malondialdehyde( MDA) content in the liver of loaches were analyzed after 12,24,48 and 72 h of exposure. [Results] The activity of SOD,POD,CAT and GSH increased with the stress time and concentration, reached their maximums at 48 h after acetochlor treatment, and then decreased. However,MDA content increased with the stress time and concentration. [Conclusions] Acetochlor had obvious oxidative stress on loaches, and the activity of SOD,POD,CAT and GSH showed an obvious induction-inhibition effect with the increase of acetochlor concentration and the extension of stress time. | Yan WANG Peng DONG Pei XU Yuxiang LIN Zexin CHEN Yihong HU Chenzhong JIN Yiding WANG Kaifa GUO Qianxia ZHU | 2020 | Agricultural Biotechnology2020,9,3: | 0
PIC-integrable,uniformly tensile-strained Ge-on-insulator photodiodes enabled by recessed SiN_(x) stressor显示文摘Mechanical strain engineering has been promising for many integrated photonic applications. However, for the engineering of a material electronic bandgap,a trade-off exists between the strain uniformity and the integration compatibility with photonic-integrated circuits (PICs). Herein,we adopted a straightforward recess-type design of a silicon nitride (SiNx) stressor to achieve a uniform strain with enhanced magnitude in the material of interest on PICs. Normal-incidence,uniformly 0.56% tensile strained germanium (Ge)-on-insulator (GOI) metal-semiconductor-metal photodiodes were demonstrated, using the recessed stressor with 750 MPa tensile stress. The device exhibits a responsivity of 1.840.15 A∕W at 1550 nm. The extracted Ge absorption coefficient is enhanced by -3.2×to 8340 cm^(-1) at 1612 nm and is superior to that of In_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As up to 1630 nm limited by the measurement spectrum. Compared with the nonrecess strained device, additional absorption coefficient improvement of 10%–20% in the C-band and 40%–60% in the L-band was observed. This work facilitates the recessstrained GOI photodiodes for free-space PIC applications and paves the way for various (e.g.,Ge,GeSn or III-V based) uniformly strained photonic devices on PICs. | YIDING LIN DANHAO MA KWANG HONG LEE RUI-TAO WEN GOVINDO SYARANAMUAL LIONEL CKIMERLING CHUAN SENG TAN JURGEN MICHEL | 2021 | Photonics Research2021,9,7: | 0
White-light-emitting diodes using GaN-excited CdSe/CdS/ZnS quantum dots显示文摘Fluorescence-based white-light-emitting diodes(WLEDs) were fabricated using blue GaN chips and green- and red-emitting CdSe/CdS/ZnS quantum dots(QDs).The coordinate and color temperature of the WLEDs could be varied because of the size-tunable emission of CdSe QDs from 510 to 620 nm.Warm and cold white emissions were confirmed with the color temperature ranging from 4000 to 9000 K.Color coordinates were analyzed at different bias. The fast enhancement of blue emission resulted in the shift of color coordinates to the cold side. The stability of white emission during operation was analyzed;stable spectra were achieved within 90 min. | Yijun Lin Yu Zhang Jia Zhao Pengfei Gu Ke Bi Qiuran Zhang Hairong Chu Tieqiang Zhang Tian Cui Yiding Wang Jun Zhao William W.Yu | 2014 | Particuology2014,12,4: | 0
