2Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. 3kW-level,narrow-linewidth linearly polarized fiber laser with excellent beam quality through compact one-stage amplification scheme显示文摘In this manuscript, we demonstrate high-power, narrow-linewidth linearly polarized fiber laser with excellent beam quality through compact one-stage amplification scheme. By employing a single-mode–multimode–single-mode structure seed laser, a linearly polarized Yb-doped fiber laser with narrow linewidth and high output power is achieved.This laser, when used as a master oscillator, can be capable of suppressing the ASE in the process of power amplification.Thus, only one-stage amplification structure is used to scale up the laser power, and linearly polarized output with a polarization extinction ration of 14 d B, a narrow linewidth of 0.3 nm and an output power of 1018 W are achieved.Moreover, due to the good beam quality of seed laser and the well-designed amplifier stage, the beam quality of the output laser is near-diffraction-limited with M_x^2 ~1.18 and M_y^2 ~ 1.24 at the maximum power, and without mode instability occurring.Man Jiang Pengfei Ma Long Huang Jiangming Xu Pu Zhou Xijia Gu 2017High Power Laser Science and Engineering2017,5,4:7
4The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) mission: An overview显示文摘The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE), dubbed “Xihe”—Goddess of the Sun, was launched on October 14, 2021 as the first solar space mission of China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE mission is designed to test a newly developed satellite platform and to acquire the spectroscopic observations in the Hα waveband. The Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS)is the scientific payload of the CHASE satellite. It consists of two observational modes: raster scanning mode and continuum imaging mode. The raster scanning mode obtains full-Sun or region-of-interest spectral images from 6559.7 to 6565.9 ? and from 6567.8 to 6570.6 ? with 0.024 ? pixel spectral resolution and 1 min temporal resolution. The continuum imaging mode obtains photospheric images in continuum around 6689 ? with the full width at half maximum of 13.4 ?. The CHASE mission will advance our understanding of the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere. 5Manipulation of Band Degeneracy and Lattice Strain for Extraordinary PbTe Thermoelectrics显示文摘Maximizing band degeneracy and minimizing phonon relaxation time are proven to be successful for advancing thermoelectrics.Alloying with monotellurides has been known to be an effective approach for converging the valence bands of PbTe for electronic improvements,while the lattice thermal conductivity of the materials remains available room for being further reduced.It is recently revealed that the broadening of phonon dispersion measures the strength of phonon scattering,and lattice dislocations are particularly effective sources for such broadening through lattice strain fluctuations.In this work,a fine control of MnTe and EuTe alloying enables a significant increase in density of electron states near the valence band edge of PbTe due to involvement of multiple transporting bands,while the creation of dense in-grain dislocations leads to an effective broadening in phonon dispersion for reduced phonon lifetime due to the large strain fluctuations of dislocations as confirmed by synchrotron X-ray diffraction.The synergy of both electronic and thermal improvements successfully leads the average thermoelectric figure of merit to be higher than that ever reported for p-type PbTe at working temperatures.Yixuan Wu Pengfei Nan Zhiwei Chen Zezhu Zeng Siqi Lin Xinyue Zhang Hongliang Dong Zhiqiang Chen Hongkai Gu Wen Li Yue Chen Binghui Ge Yanzhong Pei 2020Research2020,,1:6

7Drone-based entanglement distribution towards mobile quantum networks显示文摘Satellites have shown free-space quantum-communication ability;however,they are orbit-limited from full-time all-location coverage.Meanwhile,practical quantum networks require satellite constellations,which are complicated and expensive,whereas the airborne mobile quantum communication may be a practical alternative to offering full-time all-location multi-weather coverage in a cost-effective way.Here,we demonstrate the first mobile entanglement distribution based on drones,realizing multi-weather operation including daytime and rainy nights,with a Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt S-parameter measured to be 2.41±0.14 and 2.49±0.06,respectively.Such a system shows unparalleled mobility,flexibility and reconfigurability compared to the existing satellite and fiber-based quantum communication,and reveals its potential to establish a multinode quantum network,with a scalable design using symmetrical lens diameter and single-mode-fiber coupling.All key technologies have been developed to pack quantum nodes into lightweight mobile platforms for local-area coverage,and arouse further technical improvements to establish wide-area quantum networks with high-altitude mobile communication.Hua-Ying Liu Xiao-Hui Tian Changsheng Gu Pengfei Fan Xin Ni Ran Yang Ji-Ning Zhang Mingzhe Hu Jian Guo Xun Cao Xiaopeng Hu Gang Zhao Yan-Qing Lu Yan-Xiao Gong Zhenda Xie Shi-Ning Zhu 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:6

9Synthesis of MoX2 (X =Se or S) monolayers with high-concentration 1T'phase on 4H/fcc-Au nanorods for hydrogen evolution显示文摘Controlled synthesis of transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers with unusual crystal phases has attracted increasing attention due to their promising applications in electrocatalysis.However,the facile and large-scale preparation of TMD monolayers with high-concentration unusual crystal phase still remains a challenge.Herein,we report the synthesis of MoX2 (X =Se or S) monolayers with high-concentration semimetallic 1T'phase by using the 4H/face-centered cubic (fcc)-Au nanorod as template to form the 4H/fcc-Au@MoX2 nanocomposite.The concentrations of 1T'phase in the prepared MoSe2 and MoS2 monolayers are up to 86% and 81%,respectively.As a proof-of-concept application,the obtained Au@MoS2 nanocomposite is used for the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in acid medium,exhibiting excellent performance with a low overpotential of 178 mV at the current density of 10 mNcm^2,a small Tafel slope of 43.3 mV/dec,and excellent HER stability.This work paves a way for direct synthesis of TMD monolayers with high-concentration of unusual crystal phase for the electrocatalytic application.Zhengqing Liu Xiao Zhang Yue Gong Qipeng Lu Zhicheng Zhang Hongfei Cheng Qinglang Ma Junze Chen Meiting Zhao Bo Chen Ye Chen Xue-Jun Wu Pengfei Yin Lin Gu Yaping Du Hua Zhang 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:3
10Clinical Analysis of 240 Patients with HLA-B27 Associated Acute Anterior Uveitis显示文摘Purpose: To analyze the prevalence of HLA-B27 associated acute anterior uveitis and to identify its clinical features. Methods: A total of 240 patients with HLA-B27 associated acute anterior uveitis,who were admitted to Zhejiang Ophthalmologic Hospital between December 2006 and October 2012, were retrospectively analyzed.The age of onset,sex,affected eyes,HLA-B27 antigen detection,recurrence,joint involvement, and surgical complications were investigated. Results:The average age of onset was 37.0 ±12.0 years and the ratio of male to female patients was 2.4:1. Most cases had alternate unilateral or bilateral involvement. Among all participants, 234 cases (97.5%) were HLA-B27 positive, and 124 cases (51.7%) had spondyloarthropathies (SpA), dominated by 108 cases with ankylosing spondylitis. (AS,45.0%),and mostly seen in male subjects(P<0.05).Six patients were HLA-B27 negative(2.5%)and on statistical significance was noted between male and female patients (P >0.05).A total of 193 cases (80.4%) presented with complications, mainly fibrinous exudation, posterior synechia, and vitreous opacity. Conclusion: HLA-B27 that is associated acute anterior uveitis with a relatively high incidence and recurrence presents with more severe clinical features than does idiopathic acute anterior uveitis,and it often accompanies systemic arthritic diseases. 11An enrichment model using regular health examination data for early detection of colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective: Challenges remain in current practices of colorectal cancer(CRC) screening, such as low compliance,low specificities and expensive cost. This study aimed to identify high-risk groups for CRC from the general population using regular health examination data.Methods: The study population consist of more than 7,000 CRC cases and more than 140,000 controls. Using regular health examination data, a model detecting CRC cases was derived by the classification and regression trees(CART) algorithm. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was applied to evaluate the performance of models. The robustness and generalization of the CART model were validated by independent datasets. In addition, the effectiveness of CART-based screening was compared with stool-based screening.Results: After data quality control, 4,647 CRC cases and 133,898 controls free of colorectal neoplasms were used for downstream analysis. The final CART model based on four biomarkers(age, albumin, hematocrit and percent lymphocytes) was constructed. In the test set, the area under ROC curve(AUC) of the CART model was 0.88 [95%confidence interval(95% CI), 0.87-0.90] for detecting CRC. At the cutoff yielding 99.0% specificity, this model’s sensitivity was 62.2%(95% CI, 58.1%-66.2%), thereby achieving a 63-fold enrichment of CRC cases. We validated the robustness of the method across subsets of test set with diverse CRC incidences, aging rates, genders ratio, distributions of tumor stages and locations, and data sources. Importantly, CART-based screening had the higher positive predictive value(1.6%) than fecal immunochemical test(0.3%).Conclusions: As an alternative approach for the early detection of CRC, this study provides a low-cost method using regular health examination data to identify high-risk individuals for CRC for further examinations. 12Benzo[a]pyrene stimulates miR-650 expression to promote the pathogenesis of fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma via SOCS3/JAK/STAT3 cascades显示文摘Modern diets,which often feature high levels of fat and charcoal-grilled meat,contribute to the pathogenesis of obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),resulting in liver cancer progression.Benzo(a)pyrene(B[a]P)is a common environ-mental and foodborne pollutant found in smoke and fire-grilled foods,which can have an adverse effect on human health.Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the fifth leading cause of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.The epidemiological studies suggest that both environmental risk factors and chronic liver injury including NAFL are important for HCC development,but the precise mechanisms linking eating habits to hepato-carcinogenesis remain unclear.In the present study,we demonstrated that various miRNAs in B[a]P-exposed tumor cells contribute to tumor metastasis,among which miR-650 could be the most potent inducer.Furthermore,we found that the suppressor of cytokine signaling 3(SOCS3)is directly regulated by miR-650 and its suppression regulates the activation of the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (JAK/STAT3)cascade.Our findings reveal a possible adverse outcome pathway of SOCS3/JAK/STAT3 regulation in B[a]P-induced HCC progress.These results provide a better understanding of the adverse effects of chronic exposure to B[a]P on human health.Yang Ge Pengfei Gu Wenbo Wang Liyuan Cao Lulu Zhang Jingquan Li Wei Mu Hui Wang 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,8:3
13Uterine artery embolization combined with ultrasound-guided dilation and 5–8-year follow-up study显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of uterine artery embolization(UAE) combined with dilation and curettage(D&C) using ultrasound as a treatment for cesarean scar pregnancy(CSP) and assess its effect on ovarian and reproductive function.Methods: A total of 54 patients with uterine CSP between January 2011 and December 2015 were included in this retrospective study. The patients were treated with UAE combined with D&C using ultrasound for the treatment of CSP and followed up for 5–8 years. Their medical records, medical histories, clinical manifestations, treatment courses, and treatment results were analyzed.Results: The 54 patients were initially treated without severe complications. β-Human chorionic gonadotropin(β-hCG) normalization took 36.11 ± 10.73 days(range, 25–84 days), length of hospitalization was 6.6 ± 1.5 days(range, 4–10 days), and total blood loss was 18.48 ± 8.41 mL(range, 5–33 mL). All patients resumed normal menstruation after 33.48 ± 8.71 days(range, 26–70 days). At the 5–8-year follow-up after UAE combined with D&C by ultrasound for the treatment of uterine CSP, the menstrual volume in 32(59.3%) patients decreased versus before the operation. Compared with pretreatment, the menstrual cycle was prolonged in two(3.7%) cases,shortened in 10(18.5%) cases, irregular in one(1.9%) case, and unchanged in 39(72.2%) cases. Three patients conceived naturally and successfully gave birth to healthy children. Seven(12.96%) patients with accidental natural pregnancies chose induced abortion with no significant change in their sex lives.Conclusion: UAE combined with D&C using ultrasound for the treatment of uterine CSP is safe and effective and may not affect the fertility of patients aged <40 years. 14Vapor phase fabrication of three-dimensional arrayed BiI3 nanosheets for cost-effective solar cells显示文摘Multilayered photovoltaic absorbers have triggered widespread attention for their unique structure and properties.However,multilayered materials in the randomly oriented polycrystalline thin-film lead to ineffective carrier transport and collection,which hinders the process of achieving high-performance solar cells.Herein,this issue is tackled by producing the three-dimensional(3D)heterojunction BiI3 nanosheets(NSs)solar cells,which embed vertically aligned monocrystalline BiI3 NSs into spiro-OMeTAD.The preferred orientation of BiI3 NSs and large p-n junction areas of 3D heterojunction structure enable a strong light absorption and effective carrier transport and collection,and thus a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 1.45%was achieved.Moreover,this PCE is the highest ever reported for BiI3 based solar cells to our best knowledge.Moreover,the nonencapsulated device remained 96%of the initial PCE after 24 h continuous one sun illumination at^70%humidity condition,and 82%of the initial PCE after 1-month storage at^30%humidity condition.Yiyi Zhu Qianpeng Zhang Matthew Kam Swapnadeep Poddar Leilei Gu Shijun Liang Pengfei Qi Feng Miao Zhiyong Fan 2020InfoMat2020,2,5:2
15Blue-detuned optical atom trapping in a compact plasmonic structure显示文摘We theoretically propose blue-detuned optical trapping for neutral atoms via strong near-field interfacing in a plasmonic nanohole array. The optical field at resonance forms a nanoscale-trap potential with an FWHM of 200 nm and about ~370 nm away from the nanohole; thus, a stable 3 D atom trapping independent of the surface potential is demonstrated. 19Coordinatively unsaturated single Co atoms immobilized on C_(2)N for efficient oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Developing cost-effective and high-efficiency oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)catalysts is imperative for promoting the substantial progress of fuel cells and metal-air batteries.The coordination and geometric engineering of single-atom catalysts(SACs)occurred the promising approach to overcome the thermodynamics and kinetics problems in high-efficiency electrocatalysis.Herein,we rationally constructed atomically dispersed Co atoms on porous N-enriched graphene material C_(2)N(CoSA-C2N)for efficient oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Systematic characterizations demonstrated the active sites for CoSA-C2N is as identified as coordinatively unsaturated Co-N_(2)moiety,which exhibits ORR intrinsic activity.Structurally,the porous N-enriched graphene framework in C_(2)N could effectively increase the accessibility to the active sites and promote mass transfer rate,contributing to improved ORR kinetics.Consequently,CoSA-C_(2)N exhibited superior ORR performance in both acidic and alkaline conditions as well as impressive long-term durability.The coordination and geometric engineering of SACs will provide a novel approach to advanced catalysts for energy related applications.Wenjing Xu Yidong Sun Jiaqi Zhou Maoqi Cao Jun Luo Haili Mao Pengfei Hu Hongfei Gu Huazhang Zhai Huishan Shang Zhi Cai 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:1
