| 2 | Enhancement of chaotic carrier bandwidth in a semiconductor laser transmitter using self-phase modulation in an optical fiber external round cavity显示文摘A novel method to enhance the bandwidth of a chaotic carrier from a delayed feedback semiconductor laser transmitter is pre- sented using self-phase modulation (SPM) in an optical fiber external round cavity. A physical model of the laser dynamics is established under the condition of optical feedback light with the SPM effect in the fiber path. A formula for frequency detuning of the optical dual-feedback under SPM is theoretically deduced. The results show that the nonlinear phase shift caused by SPM has an impact on the gain and bandwidth enhancement factor of the laser. The second-order nonlinear effect of the fiber enriches the variety of the amplitudes and phases of the laser while the nonlinear phase shift produces a number of new frequencies, which can spread the bandwidth. Numerical results reveal that with the SPM effect, the bandwidth can be enhanced 4 times more than the bandwidth without it, and the relaxation oscillation frequency of the chaotic laser is increased to 2.56 times more than that of the laser without the fiber path. The enhancement of the chaotic bandwidth can be extended by increasing the optical fiber length, the coupling-feedback ratio, the mirror reflectance and the second order nonlinear coefficient affect. | YAN SenLin | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,11: | 10 |
| 3 | Chaotic laser synchronization and its application in optical fiber secure communication显示文摘In this paper, optical fiber chaotic secure communication is proposed by coupling chaotic laser synchronous system with optical fiber propagation channel. Feedback synchronous system of chaotic semiconductor lasers is presented and synchronous error and decoding formulae are demonstrated. Synchronization between two chaotic laser systems with distributed feedback semiconductor lasers at wavelength of 1.31 μm is simulatively achieved with almost zero synchronous error. Parameter mismatch, synchronous transient response and noise effect on the system are studied. Robustness of synchronization and anti-perturbation can increase by increasing the feedback coefficient of the system. Influence of group-velocity-dispersion and self-phase modulation of optical fiber on chaotic laser signal and synchronization are analyzed, and it is found that group-velocity-dispersion affects pulse shape, synchronization and decodin gand limits optical fiber propagation distances, and self-phase modulation does not affect pulse shape, while its product of nonlinear phase shift can affect synchronization and decoding, and restrict propagation distances of optical fiber chaotic communication system and hence the maximum optical power formula is educed. | 4 | Control of chaos in an external-cavity multi-quantum-well laser subjected to dual-wedges and optical dual-feedback显示文摘A multi-parameter chaos-control method used to control chaos in an external cavity multi-quantum-well (MQW) laser via the dual-wedges and external delayed optical dual-feedback is presented. The physical model of the laser dynamic is established under the conditions of the dual-wedges and dual-feedback light control. The frequency detuning and stable ranges of the control system are theoretically demon-strated. The optical-length of the feedback light may be adjusted by shifting horizontally or sliding the dual-wedges relatively in the external optical road, which will alter the delaying time and feedback in-tensity of the dual-feedback light. Accordingly, the multi-parameter chaos-control of the optical dual-feedback may be achieved physically. | 5 | A low dose cell therapy system for treating osteoarthritis:In vivo study and in vitro mechanistic investigations显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)can be effective in alleviating the progression of osteoarthritis(OA).However,low MSC retention and survival at the injection site frequently require high doses of cells and/or repeated injections,which are not economically viable and create additional risks of complications.In this study,we produced MSC-laden microcarriers in spinner flask culture as cell delivery vehicles.These microcarriers containing a low initial dose of MSCs administered through a single injection in a rat anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)transection model of OA achieved similar reparative effects as repeated high doses of MSCs,as evaluated through imaging and histological analyses.Mechanistic investigations were conducted using a co-culture model involving human primary chondrocytes grown in monolayer,together with MSCs grown either within 3D constructs or as a monolayer.Co-culture supernatants subjected to secretome analysis showed significant decrease of inflammatory factors in the 3D group.RNA-seq of co-cultured MSCs and chondrocytes using Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis revealed processes relating to early chondrogenesis and increased extracellular matrix interactions in MSCs of the 3D group,as well as phenotypic maintenance in the co-cultured chondrocytes.The cell delivery platform we investigated may be effective in reducing the cell dose and injection frequency required for therapeutic applications. | Bin Wang Wei Liu Jiao Jiao Li Senlin Chai Dan Xing Hongsheng Yu Yuanyuan Zhang Wenjin Yan Zhihong Xu Bin Zhao Yanan Du Qing Jiang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Health Monitoring of Long-Haul Fiber Communication System Using Chaotic OTDR显示文摘A novel chaotic optical time-domain reflectometry(OTDR)-based approach was proposed for monitoring long-haul fiber communication systems with multiple fiber segments. The self-phase modulation and group velocity dispersion effects of the optical cable was considered in demonstrating the proof-of-concept experiment and simulation. In experiments, the correlation peaks are clearly obtained from the correlation trace between the reference and reflected(or scattered) light signals propagating in three optical-fiber segments. The technique affords a high spatial resolution of 2 m, and further long-haul fiber simulations indicate that the sensing distance can be more than 3300 km. | 10 | Atomically dispersed dual Fe centers on nitrogen-doped bamboo-like carbon nanotubes for efficient oxygen reduction显示文摘Interfacial atomic configuration between dual-metal active species and nitrogen-carbon substrates is of great importance for improving the intrinsic activity of catalysts toward oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Thus,from the atomic-scale engineering we develop a high intrinsic activity ORR catalyst in terms of incorporating atomically dispersed dual Fe centers(single Fe atoms and ultra-small Fe atomic clusters)into bamboo-like N-doped carbon nanotubes.Benefiting from atomically dispersed dual-Fe centers on the atomic interface of Fe-Nx/carbon nanotubes,the fabricated dual Fe centers catalyst exhibits an extremely high ORR activity(E_(onset)=1.006 V;E_(1/2)=0.90 V),beyond state-of-the-art Pt/C.Remarkably,this catalyst also shows a superior kinetic current density of 19.690 mA·cm^(−2),which is 7 times that of state-of-the-art Pt/C.Additionally,based on the excellent catalyst,the primary Zn-air battery reveals a high power density up to 137 mW·cm^(−2) and sufficient potential cycling stability(at least 25 h).Undoubtedly,given the unique structure–activity relationship of dual-Fe active species and metal-nitrogen-carbon substrates,the catalyst will show great prospects in highly efficient electrochemical energy conversion devices. | Ligang Ma Junlin Li Zhiwei Zhang Hao Yang Xueqin Mu Xiangyao Gu Huihui Jin Ding Chen Senlin Yan Suli Liu Shichun Mu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,3: | 0 |

| 13 | Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials on Manual Therapy for the Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease显示文摘Objective The objective of our study was to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of manual therapy in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD),providing a reference value for clinical decision-making.Method Studies of randomized controlled trials(RCTs)evaluating the efficacy of manual therapy in patients with GERD were searched through Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,ViP China Science and Technology Journal Database,China Biology Medicine Database,PubMed,The Cochrane Library,OviD Medline,and Embase.Two researchers independently reviewed the literature,extracted data,and performed a risk of bias analysis using the Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool,and conducted meta-analysis analysis and publication bias evaluation,the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development and Evaluation(GRADE)tool 26 was used to rate the caliber of the data in this meta-analysis.Results This study included 11 RCTs.Meta-analysis showed that the manual therapy group had a higher total effective rate(odds ratio[OR]=4.63,95%confidence interval[Cl;3.01,7.14],p<0.00001)and better Reflux Disease Questionnaire scores[weighted mean difference(WMD)=-1.59,95%CI[-2.85,-0.33],p=0.01]than the control group.The subgroup analysis showed significant differences in improving the total effective rate in manual therapy versus Western medicine,manual therapy versus Chinese medicine decoction,manual therapy+Western medicine versus Western medicine,and manual therapy+conventional treatment versus conventional treatment groups.Among the 11 trials,5 reported adverse events,and all RCTs had the possibility of publication bias.Subgroup analysis shows that the differences in age could significantly influence heterogeneity;The GRADE analysis revealed that the overall quality of evidence for all outcome indicators was low and did not support our recommendation for the outcome.Conclusion Manual therapy is more effective than medication therapy alone in relieving GERD symptoms.Furthermore,conventional therapy combined with manual therapy was found to be even more effective.Hence,it is crucial to consider these findings when applying manual therapy to GERD patients to enhance treatment outcomes.Future studies must address issues such as study quality,treatment duration,and generalizability. | Mengdie Yan Yunzhou Shi Yanqin Liu Yue Shi Mengzhu Zhang Dongnan Chen Senlin Ye Shiyin Li Yue Feng | 2023 | Chinese Medicine and Natural Products2023,3,4: | 0 |
