1Combining sap flow measurement-based canopy stomatal conductance and ^(13)C discrimination to estimate forest carbon assimilation显示文摘The available methods for studying C uptake of forest and their problems in practices are reviewed, and a new approach to combining sap flow and 13C techniques is proposed in this paper. This approach, obtained through strict mathematic derivation, combines sap flow measure-ment-based canopy stomatal conductance and 13C discrimi-nation to estimate instantaneous carbon assimilation rate of a forest. Namely the mean canopy stomatal conductance (gc) acquired from accurate measurement of sap flux density is integrated with the relationship between 13C discrimination (?) and Ci/Ca (intercellular/ambient CO2 concentrations) and with that between Anet (net photosynthetic rate) and gCO2 (stomatal conductance for CO2) so that a new relation be-tween forest C uptake and ? as well as gc is established. 3High-throughput sequencing exclusively identified a novel Torque teno virus genotype in serum of a patient with fatal fever显示文摘Torque teno virus(TTV) has been found to be prevalent world-wide in healthy populations and in patients with various diseases, but its etiological role has not yet been determined. Using high-throughput unbiased sequencing to screen for viruses in the serum of a patient with persistent high fever who died of suspected viral infection and prolonged weakness, we identified the complete genome sequence of a TTV(isolate Hebei-1). The genome of TTV-Hebei-1 is 3649 bp in length, encoding four putative open reading frames, and it has a G+C content of 49%. Genomic comparison and a BLASTN search revealed that the assembled genome of TTV-Hebei-1 represented a novel isolate, with a genome sequence that was highly heterologous to the sequences of other reported TTV strains. A phylogenetic tree constructed using the complete genome sequence showed that TTV-Hebei-1 and an uncharacterized Taiwan Residents strain, TW53A37, constitute a new TTV genotype. The patient was strongly suspected of carrying a viral infection and died eventually without any other possible causes being apparent. No virus other than the novel TTV was identified in his serum sample. 6Selective catalytic hydrogenation of naphthalene to tetralin over a NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst显示文摘The selective catalytic hydrogenation of naphthalene to high-value tetralin was systematically investigated.A series of Al2O3 catalysts containing different active metals(Co,Mo,Ni,W)were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation.The effects of different active metals forms(oxidation,reduction,sulfuration)and reaction conditions on naphthalene hydrogenation were investigated and the catalysts were characterized by XRD,XPS,BET,NH3-TPD and SEM.Especially,Ni-Mo/Al2O3 was first used in this reactive system.The results show that the oxidative4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 is the best catalyst for the preparation of tetralin.The conversion of naphthalene and the selectivity of tetralin can reach 95.62%and 99.75%respectively at 200℃,8 h and 6 MPa.Compared with reduced and sulfureted 4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 catalysts,oxidative 4%Ni O-20%MoO3/Al2O3 has a well dispersed and uniform monolayer of the active metals,larger pore volume and size,and larger total acidity.NiO-MoO3/Al2O3 has a synergistic effect between NiO activity and MoO3 selectivity.Xiaoping Su Pu An Junwen Gao RuchengWang Yujuan Zhang Xi Li Yangkun Zhao Yongqi Liu Xiaoxun Ma Ming Sun 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,10:4
7Estrogenic effect of the extract of Renshen(Radix Ginseng) on reproductive tissues in immature mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the estrogenic efficacy of Renshen(Radix Ginseng)(GS) on reproductive target tissues in immature mice.METHODS: One hundred and ten female immature Kunming(KM) mice, 21-day-old, were randomly assigned to eleven groups, 10 for each; one served as control group treated with 0.154 mg/kg estradiol valerate(EV,n = 10), the rest were treated respectively with GS intragastrically at a daily dose of 0.5,1.0, 1.5, 3.0, 6.0, 12.0, 18.0, 24.0 and 30.0 g/kg(n =10 in per group) for 7 days. The estrous cycle, uterine weight, hormone levels in circulation and histomorphology changes of uterus and vagina were scrupulously examined. The estrogen receptor(ER)α and ERβ expressions in the uterus and vagina were detected by immunohistochemistry and western blotting.RESULTS: Treatment with GS at the dose of 12.0,18.0 and 24.0 g/kg resulted significant estrogenic activity in the mice, as indicated by advanced and prolonged estrous stage and increased uterine weight(all P < 0.05). GS treatment substantially promoted development of reproductive tissue by thickening the uterine endometrium and increasing vaginal epithelial layers. In addition, treatment with GS induced significant up-regulation of ERαand ERβ expressions in reproductive tissues, and ERα up-regulation was stronger than that of ERβ.GS could raise levels of circulating estrogen, simultaneously decrease levels of luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone(all P < 0.001)compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that GS had estrogenic effect on reproductive tissues in immature mice by stimulating biosynthesis of estrogen in circulation and up-regulating ERs.Ding Jie Xu Ying Ma Xiaoping An Jinna Yang Xiudong Liu Zhiqiang Lin Na 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,4:3

9PrP mutants with different numbers of octarepeat sequences are more susceptible to the oxidative stress显示文摘One of the physiological functions of cellular prion protein(PrP C )is believed to work as a cellular resistance to oxidative stress,in which the octarepeats region within PrP plays an important role.However,the detailed mechanism is less clear.In this study,the expressing plasmids of wild-type PrP (PrP-PG5)and various PrP mutants containing 0(PrP-PG0),9(PrP-PG9)and 12(PrP-PG12)octarepeats were generated and PrP proteins were expressed both in E.coli and in mammalian cells.Protein aggregation and formation of carbonyl groups were clearly seen in the recombinant PrPs expressed from E.coli after treatment of H2O2.MTT and trypan blue staining assays revealed that the cells expressing the mutated PrPs within octarepeats are less viable than the cells expressing wild-type PrP.Statistically significant high levels of intracellular free radicals and low levels of glutathione peroxidase were observed in the cells transfected with plasmids containing deleted or inserted octarepeats.Remarkably more productions of carbonyl groups were detected in the cells expressing PrPs with deleted and inserted octarepeats after exposing to H2O2.Furthermore,cells expressing wild-type PrP showed stronger resistant activity to the challenge of H2O2 at certain extent than the mutated PrPs and mock. 11Uplift differential of active fold zones during the late Quaternary, northern piedmonts of the Tianshan Mountains, China显示文摘On the north piedmont of Tianshan Mountains, China, the Kuytun River and Manas River transverse the Dushanzi and Manas folds, resulted in 7-level and 6-level pedestal terraces, respectively, which are the tectonomorphic marks of folding and uplift of the Dushanzi and Manas anticlines since the late Quaternary. We have collected samples from deposits of all terraces for OSL (optically stimulated luminescence) geological dating using the SMAR (single-multiple-aliquot-regeneration) method on fine grains. We have also performed dating using the 14 C method on the samples from the deposit of terrace T1 along the Kuytun River. The results show that all these deposits are of the later phase of the late Pleistocene. Comparison of terrace dating and climate change since 200 ka suggests that the terraces T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 along the Manas River formed in 6, 8.5, 10, 14 and 32 ka, respectively. The incision time of Kuitun River's T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6 and T7 terraces were 1.7, 14, 20, 25, 32, 50 and 100 ka years ago, respectively. The terrace T4 along the Manas River and T2 along the Kuytun River were formed during the late part of the late Pleistocene, i.e., 14 ka. Since 14 ka, the incision of the Manas River has generated three levels of pedestal terraces, while that of the Kuytun River has only produced one level of such terraces. The latest folding and uplift of the Dushanzi anticline took place in 1.7 ka, while that of the Manas anticline occurred in 5 ka. 17Recurrence of paleoearthquakes on the southeastern segment of the Ganzi-Yushu Fault,central Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Although there are many earthquake relics preserved in the southeast segment of the Ganzi-Yushu Fault in the central Tibetan Plateau,the recurrence regularity of paleoearthquakes is not yet clear.This work studies paleoearthquakes on this fault segment since the Holocene through geomorphic investigation and trench excavation.The results show that sinistral dislocation of the T3/T2 terrace boundary is up to 80 m at the Cuoa Township.A 1.5 m-high fault scarp extends 3 km near the Renguo Township.A number of paleoearthquakes are exposed in trenches at two places,respectively.In combination with historical records,our work has identified 5 or 6 paleoearthquakes on this fault segment since last 5600 years.The occurrence times and recurrence intervals of these paleoearthquakes are estimated by 14C dating on strata in the trenches.Our analysis shows that these paleoearthquakes do not exhibit evident periodicity,but instead show a clustering characteristic.From 5600 a to present,seismicity of the southeastern segment of the Ganzi-Yushu Fault has two active periods and one quiet period,and the present-day time is just in the second active epoch.The recurrence intervals of each active epoch are different:1000-1300 a in the first one,534 a in the second one.LI An SHI Feng YANG XiaoPing XU XiWei 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,2:1
18Effects of different fertilization practices on anammox activity,abundance,and community compositions in a paddy soil显示文摘The return of crop residue and green manure into agricultural soil is known to be important agricultural management strategies,yet how they affect the anammox process remains poorly characterized.A field experiment containing four treatments:chemical fertilizer(F),F plus rice straw(FS),FS plus green manure(FSM),FSM with integrated management(FSMM),was performed to examine the effects of incorporation of rice straw and green manure residues on anammox.The results showed that the anammox activities in FS and FSM treatments(0.65 and 0.80 nmol N g^(–1)soil h^(–1),respectively)were significantly lower than those in F and FSMM treatments(1.60 and 1.28 nmol N g^(–1)soil h^(–1),respectively).Anammox contributed 4.07%-4.95%of total N loss in soil incorporated with residues,lower than soil treated with chemical fertilizer only(9.13%),the remaining being due to denitrification.However,the abundance of the hzsB gene(the hydrazine synthaseβ-subunit gene)in FS and FSM treatments(1.13106 and 1.18106 copies g^(–1)soil)were significantly higher than soil using chemical fertilizer only(7.49105 copies g^(–1)soil)while showed no significant difference with FSMM treatment(8.81105 copies g^(–1)soil).Illumina sequencing indicated that Brocadia was the dominant anammox genus,following by Scalindua and Kuenenia.Anammox bacterial diversity was altered after 4-year incorporation of rice straw and green manure,as shown byα-diversity indices.We concluded that rice straw and green manure incorporated with mineral fertilizer reduce N removal from paddy soil in terms of anammox in spite of stimulating anammox bacterial growth.Geng Sun Mei Sun Zunchang Luo Chao Li Xiaoping Xiao Xiaojing Li Junjie Zhong Hua Wang San’an Nie 2022Soil Ecology Letters2022,4,3:1

20TGF-β_1,ADAM12和HB-EGF在原发性肝癌组织中的表达(英文)显示文摘Objective: To detect the expression and location of TGF-β1, ADAM12 and HB-EGF in primary hepatic carcinoma and study their effect on the growth and metastasis of hepatoma carcinoma cell. Methods: TGF-β1, ADAM12 and HB-EGF were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry in 30 cases of hepatic carcinoma tissues, 30 cases of adjacent carci- noma tissues and 5 cases of normal hepatic tissues. Results: RT-PCR analyses showed that the mRNA expression of TGF-β1, ADAM12 and HB-EGF were markedly increased in each hepatic carcinoma tissue compared with its adjacent tissue (P < 0.01), but no signal was detected in normal hepatic tissue. Immunohistochemistry showed the same outcome on the expression of above three factors in hepatic tissues as RT-PCR. Proteins location analyses showed the proteins of TGF-β1, ADAM12 and HB-EGF all distributed in the stroma of hepatic carcinoma tissues. The positive correlation was found between TGF-β1 and ADAM12 (r = 0.6137, P < 0.05), as well as ADAM12 and HB-EGF (r = 0.5763, P < 0.05). The protein expression of TGF-β1, ADAM12 and HB-EGF were correlated with the size of tumors, degree of differentiation of hepatoma carcinoma cells, portal vein thrombus and the metastasis of absorbent glands, especially with hepatic cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B virus.
