2A review on 2D MoS_(2) cocatalysts in photocatalytic H_(2) production显示文摘Owing to their unique physicochemical,optical and electrical properties,two-dimensional(2D)MoS_(2) cocatalysts have been widely applied in designing and developing highly efficient composite photocatalysts for hydrogen generation under suitable light irradiation.In this review,we first elaborated on the fundamental aspects of 2D MoS_(2) cocatalysts to include the structural design principles,synthesis strategies,strengths and challenges.Subsequently,we thoroughly highlighted and discussed the modification strategies of 2D MoS_(2) H2-evolution cocatalysts,including doping heteroatoms(e.g.metals,non-metals,and co-doping),designing interfacial coupling morphologies,controlling the physical properties(e.g.thickness,size,structural defects or pores),exposing the reactive facets or edge sites,constructing cocatalyst heterojunctions,engineering the interfacial bonds and confinement effects.In the future,the forefront challenges in understanding and in precise controlling of the active sites at molecular level or atomic level should be carefully studied,while various potential mechanisms of photogenerated-electrons interactions should be proposed.The applications of MoS_(2) cocatalyst in the overall water splitting are also expected.This review may offer new inspiration for designing and constructing novel and efficient MoS_(2)-based composite photocatalysts for highly efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.Zizhan Liang Rongchen Shen Yun Hau Ng Peng Zhang Quanjun Xiang Xin Li 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,56,21:12

4Design and application of active sites in g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts显示文摘With the development in photocatalysis field,photocatalysts have received increasing attention due to their important role in environmental pollution and energy crisis.As a nonmetallic photocatalyst,graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4)has been widely recognized because of its excellent optical properties,low cost,and environment friendliness.In the g-C3N4 intrinsic frameworks,carbon atom tends to be the reducing active site,while nitrogen atom tends to be the oxidizing active site and reducing active site according to the difference of electronegativity.However,the quantity and quality of these active sites are affected by many factors,including C N covalent bonds,surface properties,etc.Active sites play an important role in photocatalysis;however,this role is not detailed in most reports.In this review,we proposed the following possible mechanisms of active sites in improving the photocatalytic activity of traditional g-C_(3)N_(4) based on its intrinsic:morphology regulation,carrier migration,surface active treatment,and substrate adsorption.The following factors affecting the active sites of g-C_(3)N_(4),including basal engineering and hybrid engineering,were also investigated.The roles of these active sites in improving the photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalytic materials,including morphology regulation,surface treatment,heteroatom doping,and interfacial interaction,were also expounded.Current challenges and future development of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts that are rich in active surface sites were also discussed.This review provides an in-depth understanding of g-C_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysts.Yang Li Xin Li Huaiwu Zhang Jiajie Fan Quanjun Xiang 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,56,21:4

6Generation of rat blood vasculature and hematopoietic cells in rat-mouse chimeras by blastocyst complementation显示文摘Interspecies chimera through blastocyst complementation could be an alternative approach to create human organs in animals by using human pluripotent stem cells.A mismatch of the major histocompatibility complex of vascular endothelial cells between the human and host animal will cause graft rejection in the transplanted organs.Therefore,to achieve a transplantable organ in animals without rejection,creation of vascular endothelial cells derived from humans within the organ is necessary.In this study,to explore whether donor xeno-pluripotent stem cells can compensate for blood vasculature in host animals,we generated rat-mouse chimeras by injection of rat embryonic stem cells(rESCs)into mouse blastocysts with deficiency of Flk-1 protein,which is associated with endothelial and hematopoietic cell development.We found that rESCs could differentiate into vascular endothelial and hematopoietic cells in the rat-mouse chimeras.The whole yolk sac(YS)of Flk-1^EGFP/ECFP rat-mouse chimera was full of rat blood vasculature.Rat genes related to vascular endothelial cells,arteries,and veins,blood vessels formation process,as well as hematopoietic cells,were highly expressed in the YS.Our results suggested that rat vascular endothelial cells could undergo proliferation,migration,and self-assembly to form blood vasculature and that hematopoietic cells could differentiate into B cells,T cells,and myeloid cells in rat-mouse chimeras,which was able to rescue early embryonic lethality caused by Flk-1 deficiency in mouse.Xiaomin Wang Hui Shi Juanjuan Zhou Qingjian Zou Quanjun Zhang Shixue Gou Pengfei Chen Lisha Mou Nana Fan Yangyang Suo Zhen Ouyang Chengdan Lai Quanmei Yan Liangxue Lai 2020Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,5:2

8Review of Water-Assisted Crystallization for TiO_2 Nanotubes显示文摘TiO_2 nanotubes(TNTs) have drawn tremendous attention owing to their unique architectural and physical properties. Anodizing of titanium foil has proven to be the most efficient method to fabricate well-aligned TNTs,which, however, usually produces amorphous TNTs and needs further thermal annealing. Recently, a water-assisted crystallization strategy has been proposed and investigated by both science and engineering communities. This method is very efficient and energy saving, and it circumvents the drawbacks of thermal sintering approach. In this paper, we review the recent research progress in this kind of lowtemperature crystallization approach. Here, various synthetic methods are summarized, and the mechanisms of the amorphous–crystalline transformation are analyzed. The fundamental properties and applications of the low-temperature products are also discussed. 9Pervasive hybridization during evolutionary radiation of Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes in mountains of southwest China显示文摘Radiations are especially important for generating species biodiversity in mountainous ecosystems.The contribution of hybridization to such radiations has rarely been examined.Here,we use extensive genomic data to test whether hybridization was involved in evolutionary radiation within Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes,whose members show strong geographic isolation in the mountains of southwest China.We sequenced genomes for 143 species of this subgenus and 93 species of four other subgenera,and found that Hymenanthes was monophyletic and radiated during the late Oligocene to middle Miocene.Widespread hybridization events were inferred within and between the identified clades and subclades.This suggests that hybridization occurred both early and late during diversification of subgenus Hymenan thes,although the extent to which hybridization,speciation through mixing-isolation-mixing or hybrid speciation,accelerated the diversification needs further exploration.Cycles of isolation and contact in such and other montane ecosystems may have together promoted species radiation through hybridization between diverging populations and species.Similar radiation processes may apply to other montane floras in this region and elsewhere.Yazhen Ma Xingxing Mao Ji Wang Lei Zhang Yuanzhong Jiang Yuying Geng Tao Ma Liming Cai Shuangquan Huang Pete Hollingsworth Kangshan Mao Minghui Kang Yiling Li Wenlu Yang Haolin Wu Yang Chen Charles C.Davis Nawal Shrestha Richard H.Ree Zhenxiang Xi Quanjun Hu Richard I.Milne Jianquan Liu 2022National Science Review2022,9,12:1
10Phylotranscriptomics of Swertiinae(Gentianaceae)reveals that key floral traits are not phylogenetically correlated显示文摘Establishing how lineages with similar traits are phylogenetically related remains critical for understanding the origin of biodiversity on Earth.Floral traits in plants are widely used to explore phylogenetic relationships and to delineate taxonomic groups.The subtribe Swertiinae(Gentianaceae)comprises more than 350 species with high floral diversity ranging from rotate to tubular corollas and possessing diverse nectaries.Here we performed phylogenetic analysis of 60 species from all 15 genera of the subtribe Swertiinae sensu Ho and Liu,representing the range of floral diversity,using data from the nuclear and plastid genomes.Extensive topological conflicts were present between the nuclear and plastome trees.Three of the 15 genera represented by multiple species are polyphyletic in both trees.Key floral traits including corolla type,absence or presence of lobe scales,nectary type,nectary position,and stigma type are randomly distributed in the nuclear and plastome trees without phylogenetic correlation.We also revealed the likely ancient hybrid origin of one large clade comprising 10 genera with diverse floral traits.These results highlight the complex evolutionary history of this subtribe.The phylogenies constructed here provide a basic framework for further exploring the ecological and genetic mechanisms underlying both species diversification and floral diversity.Chunlin Chen Brad R.Ruhfel Jialiang Li Zefu Wang Lushui Zhang Lei Zhang Xingxing Mao Ji Wang Dashan He Yue Luo Quanjun Hu Yuanwen Duan Xiaoting Xu Zhenxiang Xi Jianquan Liu 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,6:1
11Thermal insulation design for efficient and scalable solar water interfacial evaporation and purification显示文摘In recent years, solar desalination and water evaporation/purification with various artificial architectures have drawn significant attention. Herein, we introduce a rational design structure for efficient solar water evaporation and purification, focusing on the balance between water transportation and thermal insulation.Natural wood after a simple flame treatment on the surface was utilized as the solar absorber, with a high solar absorbance(~90 %), good hydrophilicity, and excellent heat localization abilities. Besides,a thermal insulator(polystyrene foam) was used to further reduce the thermal loss, and the optimized ratio between the water path and thermal insulator was obtained. A set of floating foam-flamed-wood(F-F-wood) devices were fabricated with a high evaporation rate of 3.92 kgm-2 h-1, exhibiting photothermal purification abilities from seawater and wastewater containing organic dyes and heavy metals. 12Enhanced chemical trapping and catalytic conversion of polysulfides by diatomite/MXene hybrid interlayer for stable Li-S batteries显示文摘Lithium-Sulfur (Li-S) batteries with high theoretical energy density are promising energy storage systems in the next decades, while the lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) shuttling caused by the sluggish sulfur redox reaction severely lowers the practical performance. The use of interlayer between the cathode and separator has been widely investigated to physically or chemically block the LiPSs, while the introduction of catalytic materials is a more effective strategy to accelerate the conversion of LiPSs. MXene with rich surface chemistry has shown its potential for facilitating the catalytic conversion, however, the aggregation of MXene sheets usually leads to the loss of the catalytic active sites. Herein, we report a diatomite/MXene (DE/MX) hybrid material as the bifunctional interlayer for improving the adsorption/conversion of LiPSs in Li-S batteries. The diatomite with porous structure and rich silica-hydroxyl functional groups could trap LiPSs effectively, while prevent the aggregation of MXene. The DE/MX based interlayer showed bifunctions of enhancing the chemical adsorption and promoting the conversion of LiPSs. The Li-S batteries with the DE/MX interlayer delivered an improved cycling stability with a low capacity decay of 0.059% per cycle over 1000 cycles at 1.0 C. Moreover, stable 200 cycles can be realized with a high sulfur loading electrode up to 6.0 mg cm^(−2). 20Targeted Micellar Phthalocyanine for Lymph Node Metastasis Homing and Photothermal Therapy in an Orthotopic Colorectal Tumor Model显示文摘Tumor lymph node(LN)metastasis seriously affects the treatment prognosis.Studies have shown that nanoparticles with size of sub-50 nm can directly penetrate into LN metastases after intravenous administration.Here,we speculate through introducing targeting capacity,the nanoparticle accumulation in LN metastases would be further enhanced for improved local treatment such as photothermal therapy.Trastuzumabtargeted micelles(<50 nm)were formulated using a unique surfactantstripping approach that yielded concentrated phthalocyanines with strong near-infrared absorption.Targeted micellar phthalocyanine(T-MP)was an effective photothermal transducer and ablated HT-29 cells in vitro.A HER2-expressing colorectal cancer cell line(HT-29)was used to establish an orthotopic mouse model that developed metastatic disease in mesenteric sentinel LN.T-MP accumulated more in the LN metastases compared to the micelles conjugated with control IgG.Following surgical resection of the primary tumor,minimally invasive photothermal treatment of the metastatic LN with T-MP,but not the control micelles,extended mouse survival.Our findings demonstrate for the first time that targeted small-sized nanoparticles have potential to enable superior paradigms for dealing with LN metastases.Hai‑Yi Feng Yihang Yuan Yunpeng Zhang Hai‑Jun Liu Xiao Dong Si‑Cong Yang Xue‑Liang Liu Xing Lai Mao‑Hua Zhu Jue Wang Qin Lu Quanjun Lin Hong‑Zhuan Chen Jonathan F.Lovell Peng Sun Chao Fang 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,11:1
