7Evaluating impacts of pulse fishing on the effectiveness of seasonal closure显示文摘Seasonal fishing closures are often used in fisheries management to conserve overfished stocks.As one of the unintended consequences,fishermen often contend for maximizing catches immediately after reopening fisheries.The resultant large catch landings in a short time period(i.e.,pulse fishing)may undermine the benefit of closure.We implemented an end-to-end model OSMOSE-JZB(Object-oriented Simulator of Marine ec OSystem Exploitation OSMOSE)modelling ecosystem in the Jiaozhou Bay located in China to evaluate the impact of pulse fishing on the effectiveness of seasonal closure at levels of fish community,population,and individual.Our study demonstrated that the three-month closure was successful in conserving fish stocks.There were small variations on ecological indicators(i.e.,total biomass of the community,mean trophic level of the community,mean trophic level of the catch,and Shannon-Wiener biodiversity index)when pulse fishing occurred.Pulse fishing seemed not to result in a great shift in community structure.Compared to other species,the biomass of two large predatory fishes were more susceptible to pulse fishing.Pulse fishing could change the pressure of predators to fish stocks via food webs,especially for young individuals.Our simulations indicate that we can improve the effectiveness of seasonal closure by managing pulse fishing.Although the results derived in this study may be specific to the target ecosystem,the general approach is applicable to other ecosystems when evaluating fishing impacts.Lei Xing Yong Chen Chongliang Zhang Bai Li Yunne-Jai Shin Yiping Ren 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,4:1

16Chinese Fetal Growth:A Multicenter Cohort Study Based on Fetal Ultrasound Measurements显示文摘Objective:To build a reference fetal growth chart for the Chinese population based on fetal ultrasound measurements.Methods:This was a multicenter,population-based retrospective cohort study.Longitudinal ultrasound measurement data were collected from 24 hospitals in 18 provinces of China from 1st September through 31st October of 2019.The estimated fetal weight(EFW)was calculated based on head circumference,abdominal circumference,and femur length using Hadlock formula 3.Fetal growth curves were estimated using a two-level linear regression model with cubic splines.All participants were divided into two groups:the northern group(n=5829)and the southern group(n=3246)based on the geographical division of China and male fetus group(n=4775)and female fetus group(n=4300)based on fetal gender.The EFW was compared by fetal gender and geographical group.All statistical models were adjusted for maternal sociodemographic characteristics.Results:A total of 9075 participants with 31,700 ultrasound measurement records were included in this study.Male fetuses demonstrated significantly larger EFW compared to female ones starting at 16 weeks of gestation and extending to delivery(global testP<0.01).The overall geographic difference in EFW was significant(global testP=0.03),and week-specific comparisons showed that the northern group had a greater EFW starting at 15 weeks of gestation and extending to 29 weeks of gestation,although this difference did not extend to the time of delivery.TheZ-score of EFW confirmed that our Chinese fetal growth charts differed from previously published standards.Conclusion:This study provides EFW and ultrasound biometric reference measurements for Chinese fetuses and reveals differences from other fetal growth charts.The chart is worth promoting in more regions of China but should be tested prudently before use.Xiaoli Gong Tianchen Wu Xiaoli Wang Lizhen Zhang Yiping You Hongwei Wei Xifang Zuo Ying Zhou Xinli Xing Zhaoyan Meng Qi Lyu Zhaodong Liu Jian Zhang Liyan Hu Junnan Li Li Li Chulin Chen Chunyan Liu Guoqiang Sun Aiju Liu Jingsi Chen Yuan Lyu Yuan Wei Yangyu Zhao 2023Maternal-Fetal Medicine2023,5,1:0
17Extracting the Group Velocity of Rayleigh Waves from the Cross Correlation of the Ambient Seismic Noise Between Two Seismic Stations显示文摘This paper uses the 8 broad-band stations' microseism data recorded by the Seismic Monitoring Network of Fujian Province to calculate the vertical correlation coefficient between two stations at intervals of 5 minutes. According to the time intervals technique we obtain the different coefficients and then add the correlative coefficients. Depending on this, we extract the group velocity of Rayleigh waves from the cross correlation of the ambient seismic noise between two seismic stations and figure out the group velocity' spatial distribution. The results show that the signal noise ratio (SNR) increases proportionally to the superposition times, but the results from different days are similar to one another. Synchronously, the arrival-time is also stable and there is no obvious change when coming across typhoons. 18Genetic diversity and phylogenetic analysis of Chinese Han and Li ethnic populations from Hainan Island by 30 autosomal insertion/deletion polymorphisms显示文摘With the characteristics of low mutation rate,length variation and short amplicon size,insertion/deletion polymorphisms(InDels)have the advantages of both short tandem repeats(STRs)and single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs).Herein,people of two ethnicities from Hainan Island were genotyped for the first time using the Investigator DIPplex kit.We investigated the forensic parameters of the 30 InDels and the phylogenetic relationships among different populations.The accumulated powers of discrimination and powers of exclusion were 0.9999999999646 and 0.9897 in the Hainan Han population and 0.9999999999292 and 0.9861 in the Hainan Li population,respectively.Additionally,population comparisons among geographically,ethnically and linguistically diverse populations via cluster heatmap,multidimensional scaling,principal component analysis,phylogenetic tree and STRUCTURE analyses demonstrated that the Hainan Han population had genetic similarities to the other Han,She and Tujia populations,while the Hainan Li population had close genetic relationships to the Zhuang and Miao groups;both populations had a high degree of genetic differentiation from most Turkic-speaking populations.Aforementioned results suggested that the 30 autosomal InDels are highly polymorphic and informative,which are suitable for human identification and population genetics.Jing Liu Ziwei Ye Zheng Wang Xing Zou Guanglin He Mengge Wang Shouyu Wang Yiping Hou 2022Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,2:0
19Population genetics and forensic efficiency of 30 InDel markers in four Chinese ethnic groups residing in Sichuan显示文摘Sichuan Province is located at the transitional junction regions of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the low-altitude plains.It also serves as the corridor of Sino Tibetan-speaking population migration and expansion since neolithic expansion of Proto-Tibeto-Burman populations from Middle/Upper Yellow River during Majiayao period(3300-2000 BC).However,the population structure and the corresponding genetic diversity of forensic-related markers in this region remain unclear.Thus,we genotyped 30 insertion-deletion(InDel)markers in 444 samples from four ethnic groups(Han,Tibetan,Hui and Yi)from Sichuan Province using the Investigator■ DIPplex kit to explore the characteristics of population genetics and forensic genetic focuses.All the loci were found to be in Hardy-Weinberg Equlibrium(HWE)after applying a Bonferroni correction and no pairwise loci showed prominent linkage disequilibrium.The combined matching probability(CMP)and the combined power of discrimination(CPD)are larger than 1.8089×10^(11)and 0.9999999995,respectively.Principal component analysis,multi-dimen-sional scaling plots and Neighbour-Joining tree among 65 worldwide populations indicated that Sichuan Hui and Han are genetically close to Hmong-Mien and Tai-Kadai-speaking popula-tions,and Sichuan Tibetan and Yi bear a strong genetic affinity with Tibeto-Burman-speaking populations.The model-based genetic structure further supports the genetic affinity between the studied populations and linguistically close populations.Fei Wang Guanglin He Zheng Wang Mengge Wang Jing Liu Xing Zou Shouyu Wang Mengyuan Song Ziwei Ye Mingkun Xie Yiping Hou 2022Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,3:0
20Rare earth element enrichment in sedimentary phosphorites formed during the Precambrian-Cambrian transition,Southwest China显示文摘Numerous sedimentary phosphorites in Southwest China were formed around the Precambrian–Cambrian transition(PC–C),including the upper Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation and lower Cambrian Gezhongwu Formation.The Gezhongwu phosphorites in Zhijin exhibit marked rare earth element(REE)enrichment(>1000 ppm),and may represent new REE resources.Although the main characteristics of the Gezhongwu phosphorites have been well constrained,the REE enrichment mechanisms remain unclear.We undertook a comparative study of three typical sedimentary phosphorites with variable REE contents formed at the PC–C transition in central Guizhou Province,Southwest China.These include sections A and B of the Doushantuo phosphorites(560±8 Ma)from the Weng’an area(i.e.,WA-A and WA-B),and the Gezhongwu phosphorites(527±24 Ma)from the Zhijin area(ZJ).The phosphorites were investigated with state-of-the-art macroscale to nanoscale analytical techniques.In contrast to the extraordinary REE enrichment in the ZJ phosphorites(average RREE=1157 ppm),the phosphorites in WA-A(average RREE=234 ppm)and WA-B(average RREE=114 ppm)are REE-poor.Elemental mapping by laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry,along with transmission electron microscopy analyses,showed the REEs in the studied phosphorites are hosted in nanoscale francolites.The 87Sr/86Sr and Y/Ho ratios of the francolite grains indicate that greater terrigenous input may have led to more REE enrichment in the WA-A than WA-B phosphorites,but this cannot explain the extraordinary REE enrichment in the ZJ phosphorites.The F/P_(2)O_(5)values of the francolite grains in the ZJ phosphorites(~0.097)are higher than those in the WA-A(~0.084)and WA-B(~0.084)phosphorites,and the grain size of the francolite in the ZJ phosphorites(~89.9 nm)is larger than those in the WA-A(~56.6 nm)and WA-B(~57.4 nm)phosphorites,indicative of more intense reworking of the ZJ than WA phosphorites during early diagenesis.A plot of Nd concentration versus Ce/Ce^(*)reveals that lower sedimentation rates characterized the ZJ phosphorites.Therefore,intense sedimentary reworking during early diagenesis resulted in more REEs being sequestered by the marine phosphates from seawater and pore waters at a lower sedimentation rate,which resulted in the extraordinary REE enrichment in the ZJ phosphorites.Our findings highlight the multiple factors that controlled formation of sedimentary phosphorites around the PC–C transition(especially the intense reworking and redox conditions of the overlying seawater),and provide further insights into REE enrichment in sedimentary phosphorites worldwide.Jieqi Xing Yuhang Jiang Haiyang Xian Wubin Yang Yiping Yang Hecai Niu Hongping He Jianxi Zhu 2024Geoscience Frontiers2024,15,2:0
