| 1 | Sedum alfredii H:A new Zn hyperaccumulating plant first found in China显示文摘Field survey and greenhouse experiments were carried out to identify and characterize zinc (Zn) uptake and accumulation by a new Zn hyperaccumulating plant species (Sedum alfredii Hance) native to China. Zinc concentration in the shoots of Sedum alfredii Hance grown on an ancient mined area ranged from 4134 to 5000 mg/kg, with a mean of 4515 mg/kg. It suggests that Sedum alfredii could not only grow on heavily Pb/Zn contaminated soils, but also could accumulate extraordinarily high concentration of Zn. Under nutrient solution culture conditions, Sedum alfredii Hance grew healthy at Zn supplying levels from 0.006 to 240 mg · L-1. Zinc concentration in the shoots increased with external Zn levels increasing. The Zn concentration and accumulation in the shoots reached the highest at Zn supply level of SO mg/L, with 19.67 g/kg and 19.83 nig/plant, respectively. All the results showed that Sedum alfredii Hance is a new Zn hyperaccumulating plant. | 2 | Geochemical and Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of Indosinian granitoids from the Bikou block,northwest of the Yangtze plate:Constraints on petrogenesis,nature of deep crust and geodynamics显示文摘This paper reports geochemical and Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions of the Indosinian Yangba (215 Ma),Nanyili (225 Ma) and Mopi granitoids from the Bikou block of the northwestern margin of the Yangtze plate. These granitoids are enriched in Al (Al2O3:14.56%―16.48%) and Sr (352 μg/g―1047 μg/g),and depleted in Y (<16 μg/g) and HREE (e.g. Yb<1.61 μg/g),resulting in high Sr/Y (36.3―150) and (La/Yb)N (7.8―36.3) ratios and strongly fractionationed REE patterns. The Indosinian granotoids show initial Sr isotopic ratios (ISr) from 0.70419 to 70752,εNd(t) values from-3.1 to -8.5,and initial Pb isotopic ratios 206Pb/204Pb=17.891-18.250,207Pb/204Pb=15.494-15.575,and 208Pb/204Pb=37.788-38.335. Their geochemi-cal signatures indicate that the granitoids are adakitic. However,they are distinct from some adakites,generated by partial melting of subducted oceanic slab and/or underplated basaltic lower crust,be-cause they have high K (K2O: 1.49%―3.84%) and evolved Nd isotopic compositions,with older Nd iso-topic model ages (TDM=1.06―1.83 Ga). Geochemical and Sr-Nd isotopic compositions suggest that the magmas of the Insoninian adakitic rocks in the Bikou block were derived from partial melting of thick-ened basaltic lower crust. Combined with regional analyses,a lithospheric delamination model after collision between the North China and South China plates can account for the Indosinian adakitic magma generation. On the other hand,based on the Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic probing to the magma sources of the adakitic rocks,it is suggested that there is an unexposed continent-type basement under the exposed Bikou Group volcanic rocks. | 3 | Early Paleozoic ridge subduction in the Chinese Altai: Insight from the abrupt change in zircon Hf isotopic compositions显示文摘Zircons were separated from granitoids, gneisses, and sedimentary rocks of the Chinese Altai. Those with igneous characteristics yielded U-Pb ages of 280-2800 Ma, recording a long history of magmatic activity in the region. Zircon Hf isotopic compositions show an abrupt change at ~420 Ma, indicating that prior to that time the magmas came from both ancient and juvenile sources, whereas younger magmas were derived mainly from juvenile material. This may imply that the lithosphere was signifi- cantly modified in composition by a rapid addition of melt from the mantle. | 4 | Major element,trace element,and Sr,Nd and Pb iso-tope studies of Cenozoic basalts from the South China Sea显示文摘The whole rock K-Ar ages of basalts from the South China Sea basin vary from 3.8 to 7.9 Ma, which suggest that intra-plate volcanism after the cessation of spreading of the South China Sea (SCS) is comparable to that in adjacent regions around the SCS, i.e., Leiqiong Peninsula, northern margin of the SCS, Indochina block, and so on. Based on detailed petrographic studies, we selected many fresh ba-saltic rocks and measured their major element, trace element, and Sr-Nd-Pb isotope compositions. Geochemical characteristics of major element and trace element show that these basaltic rocks belong to alkali basalt magma series, and are similar to OIB-type basalt. The extent of partial melting of mantle rock in source region is very low, and magma may experience crystallization differentiation and cu-mulation during the ascent to or storing in the high-level magma chamber. Sr-Nd-Pb isotopic data of these basaltic rocks imply an inhomogeneous mantle below the South China Sea. The nature of magma origin has a two end-member mixing model, one is EM2 (Enriched Mantle 2) which may be originated from mantle plume, the other is DMM (Depleted MORB Mantle). Pb isotopic characteristics show the Dupal anomaly in the South China Sea, and combined with newly found Dupal anomaly at Gakkel ridge in Arctic Ocean, this implies that Dupal anomaly is not only limited to South Hemisphere. In variation diagrams among Sr, Nd and Pb, the origin nature of mantle below the SCS is similar to those below Leiqiong peninsula, northern margin of the SCS and Indochina peninsula, and is different from those below north and northeast China. | 6 | Combined detection of serum tumor markers for differential diagnosis of solid lesions located at the pancreatic head显示文摘BACKGROUND: The differential diagnosis of solid lesions located at the pancreatic head is very important for choosing therapies and setting up surgical tactics. This study was designed to evaluate the clinical significance of combined measurement of multiple serum tumor markers and the application of the receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves in the differential diagnosis of solid lesions located at the pancreatic head. METHODS: The serum levels of CA19-9, CA242, CA50 and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in 112 patients with carcinoma of the pancreatic head and 38 patients with focal chronic pancreatitis in the pancreatic head were measured with ELISA. The sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio (PLR) and negative likelihood ratio (NLR) of the four serum tumor markers were calculated. The ROC curves for the four serum tumor markers were constructed and the area under the curve (AUC) was calculated. RESULTS: The AUCs of CA19-9, CA242, CA50 and CEA were 0.805, 0.749, 0.738 and 0.705; the PLRs were 1.91, 3.43, 5.09 and 5.46; and the NLRs were 0.41, 0.56, 0.59 and 0.71, respectively. Combined measurements increased the diagnostic specificity, and parallel combined testing increased the diagnostic sensitivity. CONCLUSIONS: Combined measurement of serum tumor markers CA19-9, CA242, CA50 and CEA is valuable in differential diagnosis of solid lesions located at the pancreatic head, and CA19-9 has the best diagnostic ability. Combined measurements can increase the specificity ofdiagnosis. It is necessary to eliminate radionuclides from wastewater for the protection of environment. | 14 | Effectiveness of Different Waist Circumference Cut-off Values in Predicting Metabolic Syndrome Prevalence and Risk Factors in Adults in China显示文摘Objective To study the effectiveness of waist circumference cut-off values in predicting the prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MetS) and risk factors in adults in China. Methods A cross-sectional survey was condcuted in 14 provinces(autonomous region, municipality) in China. A total of 47 325 adults aged ≥20 years were selected by multistage stratified sampling, and questionnaire survey and physical and clinical examination were conducted among them. MetS was defined according to the International Diabetes Federation(IDF) criteria and modified IDF criteria.Results The age-standardized prevalence of MetS was 24.2%(22.1% in men and 25.8% in women) and 19.5%(22.1% in men and 18.0% in women) according to the IDF criteria and modified IDF criteria respectively. The age-standardized prevalence of pre-MetS was 8.1%(8.6% in men and 7.8% in women) according to the modified IDF criteria. The prevalence of MetS was higher in urban residents than rural residents and in northern China residents than in southern China residents. The prevalence of central obesity was about 30% in both men and women according to the ethnicity-specific cut-off values of waist circumference for central obesity(90 cm for men and 85 cm for women). Multivariate regression analysis revealed no significant difference in risk factors between the two MetS definitions. | 15 | The discovery of the oldest rocks in the Kuluketage area and its geological implications显示文摘The basement rocks in the Kuluketage area are composed predominately of tonalite-trondhjemite-granodiorite rocks, and occured mainly in Xinger and Korla. U-Pb dating of TTG gneiss near Korla yielded a late Neoarchean weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2.65 Ga, which is the oldest published age for the TTG rocks in the Kuluketage area and thus suggests that Archean terrane in the area was formed in the late Neoarchean. The Korla gneiss is much younger than the TTG rocks in the northern Altyn Tagh, eastern Tarim Craton, indicating that the oldest terrane of the Tarim Craton was exposed probably in the northern Altyn Tagh. Until late Neoarchean, the Tarim continent extends to the Kuluketage area and finally had generated a relatively large uniform Archean basement within the craton. Zircon Hf isotopic analyses of the TTG gneiss give low εHf(t) values (-5 to 1) with Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean two-stage model ages (TDM2) between 3.0 and 3.3 Ga, suggesting that the basement rocks in the northern Tarim Craton were derived dominately from partial melting of Paleoarchean to Mesoarchean juvenile crustal material. Cell proliferation, tumor growth, and early apoptosis were evaluated by a cell counting kit-8 assay, an in vivo xenograft tumor model, and annexin V/propidium iodide staining, respectively. Analysis of the lnc RNA RP4 mechanism involved assessment of the association of its expression with mi R-7-5 p and the SH3 GLB1 gene. Western blot analysis was also performed to assess the effect of lnc RNA RP4 on the autophagy-mediated cell death pathway and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3 K)/Akt signaling.RESULTS Cell proliferation, tumor growth, and early apoptosis in SW480 cells were negatively regulated by lnc RNA RP4. Functional experiments indicated that lnc RNA RP4 directly upregulated SH3 GLB1 expression by acting as a competing endogenous RNA(ce RNA) for mi R-7-5 p. | 17 | Gefitinib plus Fuzheng Kang'ai Formula(扶正抗癌方) in Patients with Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer with Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Mutation:A Randomized Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the effect of Fuzheng Kang'ai Formula(扶正抗癌方, FZKA) plus gefitinib in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer with epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) mutations. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted from 2009 to 2012 in South China. Seventy chemotherapynaive patients diagnosed with stage ⅢB/Ⅳ non-small cell lung cancer with EGFR mutations were randomly assigned to GF group [gefitinib(250 mg/day orally) plus FZKA(250 m L, twice per day, orally); 35 cases] or G group(gefitinib 250 mg/day orally; 35 cases) according to the random number table and received treatment until progression of the disease, or development of unacceptable toxicities. The primary endpoint [progression-free survival(PFS)] and secondary endpoints [median survival time(MST), objective response rate(ORR), disease control rate(DCR) and safety] were observed. Results: No patient was excluded after randomization. GF group had significantly longer PFS and MST compared with the G group, with median PFS of 12.5 months(95% CI 3.30–21.69) vs. 8.4 months(95% CI 6.30–10.50; log-rank P<0.01), MST of 21.5 months(95% CI 17.28–25.73) vs. 18.3 months(95% CI 17.97–18.63; log-rank P<0.01). ORR and DCR in GF group and G group were 65.7% vs. 57.1%, 94.3% vs. 80.0%, respectively(P>0.05). The most common toxic effects in the GF group and G group were rash or acne(42.8% vs. 57.1%, P>0.05), diarrhea(11.5% vs. 31.4%, P<0.05), and stomatitis(2.9% vs. 8.7%, P>0.05). | 19 | Effect of electrically stimulating acupoint, Zusanli(ST 36), on patient’s recovery after laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection: a randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection and its clinical significance.METHODS:Sixty-four patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal resection were randomly divided into two groups,the control group (group A) and the TEAS group (group B).Patients in the TEAS group received electroacupuncture stimulation of bilateral Zusanli (ST 36) at 30 min before anesthesia to the end of surgery.The patients in the control group were not given the stimulation.Perioperative anesthesia management of the two groups were performed according to the ERAS guidelines,and postoperative patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) was used.The amount of remifentanil used in the two groups was observed and recorded,and the visual analogue scale (VAS) of the 4,12,24 and 48 h after surgery in the two groups was recorded.Moreover,postoperative anal exhaust time,postoperative feeding time,postoperative first ambulation time and postoperative hospital stay length were compared between the two groups.RESULTS:Compared with group A,the VAS score of group B decreased significantly at 48 h after operation (P < 0.05).The postoperative anal exhaust time in group B was significantly shorter than that of group A (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups with regards to remifentanil consumption,postoperative feeding time,postoperative first ambulation time and postoperative hospital stay (all P > 0.05).CONCLUSION:TEAS can promote the recovery of postoperative gastrointestinal function and reduce the pain intensity 48 h after surgery,thus satisfying the need of early postoperative analgesia. | Huang Wei Yu Tingyu Long Wenfei Xiao Jianbin Zhao Gaofeng | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,3: | 14 |
