| 1 | Biosorption of Cu(Ⅱ) on extracellular polymers from Bacillus sp.F19显示文摘Biosorption can be an effective process for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solutions.The adsorption of Cu(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution on the extracellular polymers (EPS) from Bacillus sp.(named MBFF19) with respect to pH,incubation time,concentration of initial Cu(Ⅱ),and biosorbent dose was studied.Biosorption of Cu(Ⅱ) is highly pH dependent.The maximum uptake of Cu(Ⅱ) (89.62 mg/g) was obtained at pH 4.8.Biosorption equilibrium was established in approximately 10 min.The correlation coeffcient of more than 0.90 turned out that the adsorption process of Cu(Ⅱ) on MBFF19 was in accordance with both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms.The pseudo-first and second order models were applied to examine the kinetics of the adsorption,whereas the latter was found to be in harmony with the kinetic data better.Because of the outstanding uptake capacity of Cu(Ⅱ),MBFF19 produced by Bacillus sp.was proved to be an excellent biosorbent for removing Cu(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions. | ZHENG Yan,FANG Xuliang,YE Zhilong,LI Yahong,CAI weimin School of Environmental Science and Engineering,Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Shanghai 200240,China. | 2008 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11: | 15 |
| 2 | Genome-wide association study identifies favorable SNP alleles and candidate genes for waterlogging tolerance in chrysanthemums显示文摘Chrysanthemums are sensitive to waterlogging stress,and the development of screening methods for tolerant germplasms or genes and the breeding of tolerant new varieties are of great importance in chrysanthemum breeding.To understand the genetic basis of waterlogging tolerance(WT)in chrysanthemums,we performed a genome-wide association study(GWAS)using 92,811 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in a panel of 88 chrysanthemum accessions,including 64 spray cut and 24 disbud chrysanthemums.The results showed that the average MFVW(membership function value of waterlogging)of the disbud type(0.65)was significantly higher than that of the spray type(0.55)at P<0.05,and the MFVW of the Asian accessions(0.65)was significantly higher than that of the European accessions(0.48)at P<0.01.The GWAS performed using the general linear model(GLM)and mixed linear model(MLM)identified 137 and 14 SNP loci related to WT,respectively,and 11 associations were commonly predicted.By calculating the phenotypic effect values for 11 common SNP loci,six highly favorable SNP alleles that explained 12.85—21.85%of the phenotypic variations were identified.Furthermore,the dosage-pyramiding effects of the favorable alleles and the significant linear correlations between the numbers of highly favorable alleles and phenotypic values were identified(r2=0.45;P<0.01).A major SNP locus(Marker6619-75)was converted into a derived cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence(dCAPS)marker that cosegregated with WT with an average efficiency of 78.9%.Finally,four putative candidate genes in the WT were identified via quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR).The results presented in this study provide insights for further research on WT mechanisms and the application of molecular marker-assisted selection(MAS)in chrysanthemum WT breeding programs. | Jiangshuo Su Fei Zhang Xinran Chong Aiping Song Zhiyong Guan Weimin Fang Fadi Chen | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 9 |
| 3 | Cytological and Molecular Characteristics of Pollen Abortion in Lily with Dysplastic Tapetum显示文摘Lily was grown worldwide as a fresh cutting flower because of its colorful petals, but its anther contained a large number of pollen grains that cause serious pollen contamination, however, pollen abortion can effectively reduce the level of pollen pollution. Our analysis aims to use cytological observation to detect the critical stage when pollen abortion occurs and to provide comprehensive gene expression information at the transcriptional level. The result showed that pollen abortion in ‘Little Kiss’ began at the mononuclear stage and the callose that covers the microspores failed to degenerate when young pollens were released from the tetrads. In addition, compared with the normally developed one,the tapetum of ‘Little Kiss’ degraded in advance while the degradation of callose was delayed. Furthermore, 103 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) related to the advance degeneration of tapetum cells and callose were found in the expression levels, including 22 transcription factors(TFs). In particular, two β-glucanase genes(endo-1,3(4)-β-glucanase, exo-β-glucanase) responsible for callose degeneration were significantly down-regulated. These results suggested that pollen abortion may occur at mononuclear stage and that early degeneration of tapetum cells resulted in a significant down-regulation of β-glucanase genes. | 5 | Enzyme activities and gene expression of starch metabolism provide insights into grape berry development显示文摘Grapes are categorized as a non-climacteric type of fruit which its ripening is not associated to important rises in respiration and ethylene synthesis.The starch metabolism shares a certain role in the carbohydrate metabolic pathways during grape berry development,and is regarded as an important transient pool in the pathway of sugar accumulation.However,the comprehensive role of starch and its contribution to the quality and flavor of grape berry have not been explored thoroughly.In this study,the expression levels of genes enzyme activities and carbohydrate concentrations related to starch metabolism,were analyzed to understand the molecular mechanism of starch accumulation during grape berry development.The results indicated that starch granules in grape berry were located at the chloroplast in the sub-epidermal tissues,acting as the temporary reserves of photosynthetic products to meet the needs for berry development,and relatively high starch contents could be detected at véraison stage.Moreover,both ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase(EC 2.7.7.27)and sucrose phosphate synthase(EC 2.3.1.14)involved in starch synthesis displayed elevated gene expression and enzymes activities in the sub-epidermal tissue,whileα-andβ-amylases involved in its degradation were highly transcribed and active in the central flesh,explaining the absence of starch in this last tissue.Change in the gene expression and activities of ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase,β-amylase and sucrose phosphate synthase revealed that they were regulated by the circadian rhythms in the fruitlets compared with those in the leaves.Both the morphological,enzymological and transcriptional data in this study provide advanced understandings on the function of starch during berry development and ripening that are so important for berry quality.This study will further facilitate our understanding of the sugar metabolism in grape berry as well as in other plant species. | Xudong Zhu Chaobo Zhang Weimin Wu Xiaopeng Li Chuan Zhang Jinggui Fang | 2017 | Horticulture Research2017,4,1: | 4 |

| 7 | A temporal gene expression map of Chrysanthemum leaves infected with Alternaria alternata reveals different stages of defense mechanisms显示文摘Chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum morifolium)black spot disease(CBS)poses a major threat to Chrysanthemum cultivation owing to suitable climate conditions and current lack of resistant cultivars for greenhouse cultivation.In this study,we identified a number of genes that respond to Alternaria alternata infection in resistant and susceptible Chrysanthemum cultivars.Based on RNA sequencing technology and a weighted gene coexpression network analysis(WGCNA),we constructed a model to elucidate the response of Chrysanthemum leaves to A.alternata infection at different stages and compared the mapped response of the resistant cultivar‘Jinba’to that of the susceptible cultivar‘Zaoyihong’.In the early stage of infection,when lesions had not yet formed,abscisic acid(ABA),salicylic acid(SA)and EDS1-mediated resistance played important roles in the Chrysanthemum defense system.With the formation of necrotic lesions,ethylene(ET)metabolism and the Ca^(2+)signal transduction pathway strongly responded to A.alternata infection.During the late stage,when necrotic lesions continued to expand,members of the multidrug and toxic compound extrusion(MATE)gene family were highly expressed,and their products may be involved in defense against A.alternata invasion by exporting toxins produced by the pathogen,which plays important roles in the pathogenicity of A.alternata.Furthermore,the function of hub genes was verified by qPCR and transgenic assays.The identification of hub genes at different stages,the comparison of hub genes between the two cultivars and the highly expressed genes in the resistant cultivar‘Jinba’provide a theoretical basis for breeding cultivars resistant to CBS. | Ye Liu Jingjing Xin Lina Liu Aiping Song Zhiyong Guan Weimin Fang Fadi Chen | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
| 8 | Preliminary observation results of the Coherent Beacon Systemonboard the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite-1显示文摘This paper reports, for the first time, observation results of the Coherent Beacon System(CBS) onboard the China SeismoElectromagnetic Satellite-1(CSES-1). We describe the CBS, and the Computerized Ionospheric Tomography(CIT) algorithm program is validated by numerical experiment. Two examples are shown, for daytime and nighttime respectively. The Equatorial Ionization Anomaly(EIA) can be seen, and the northern crest core is located at ~20°N in the reconstruction image at 07:28 UTC on 20 July 2018(daytime).Disturbances are shown in the reconstruction image at 18:40 UTC on 13 July 2018(nighttime). We find that beacon measurements are more consistent with ionosonde measurements than model results, by comparing Nm F2 at three sites at Lanzhou, Chongqing, and Kunming; consistency with ionosonde measurements validates beacon measurements. Finally, we have studied Vertical Total Electron Content(VTEC) variations from ground to ~500 km(the height of CSES-1 orbit) and ratios of VTEC between beacon measurements and CODE(Center for Orbit Determination in Europe) data. VTEC variation from ground to ~500 km has a range of 7.2–16.5 TECU for the daytime case and a range of 1.1–1.7 TECU for the nighttime case. The Beacon/CODE ratio of VTEC varies with latitude and time. The mean Beacon/CODE ratio is 0.69 for the daytime case and 0.26 for the nighttime case. | 9 | Design and experimental validation of sliding knife notch-type disc opener for a no-till combine harvester cum seed drill显示文摘One major constraint in developing a combine harvester cum seed drill(CHCSD)is the limited space available for the attachment of no-till furrow openers.Investigating the straw stubble cutting and furrow opening performance of small-sized disc furrow openers is critically important for the development and the optimization of the no-till seeding assemblies.A set of down-scaled sliding knife notch-type disc opener(SKO),modified notch-type disc opener(MNO)and smooth-type disc opener(SDO),with upper size limit of 160 mm,were designed and fabricated for field testing.Experimental results show that for small-sized disc furrow openers of the same type,a larger disc diameter yields a greater furrow depth and width.For small-sized disc furrow openers with an identical diameter,SKOs yield a greater furrow depth and width than MNOs,with SDOs yielding the lowest values.The measured furrow depth and width for an SKO with diameter of 160 mm are 3.52 cm and 3.56 cm,respectively,meeting the no-tillage furrowing requirements for a CHCSD.The highest stubble cover rate of 62.5%is obtained for the SKO with diameter of 160 mm.Therefore,this opener has greater ability to remove stubble from the furrow and seeding band than the other designs.Finally,experimental results of the stubble cutting rates confirm that,for irregularly placed straw and residue,the stubble cutting rate of the SKO with diameter of 160 mm is the highest at 61.7%. | Kuan Qin Weimin Ding Fiaz Ahmad Zhichao Fang | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,4: | 3 |

| 11 | Structure-independent disaster recovery:Concept,architecture and implementations显示文摘Disaster recovery(DR) techniques ensure the data safety and service continuity under different natural and human-made disasters by constructing a high reliable storage system. Traditional disaster recovery methods are structure-dependent. It is hard to share the DR resources between different DR systems,which made it expensive. We present a structure-independent disaster recovery theory and its implementation methods in this paper. By backup the whole system but not just the data,the goal of device and application-independent disaster recovery has been achieved. We further present a parallel recovery model and an on demand data retrieval method based on the theory. Some implementation details of prototype recovery system are also discussed. With the methods independent from specific devices or applications,the cost of disaster recovery infrastructure can be essentially reduced by resource sharing. | 15 | Quantitative characterization of pore structure of the CarboniferousePermian tight sandstone gas reservoirs in eastern Linqing depression by using NMR technique显示文摘Micro-nano scale pores can accurately and fastly be measured by the nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)technique,which provides a new method to quantitatively characterize pore structures in tight sandstone.Based on the method of calibration of mercury pressure data for NMR T_(2) spectrum,for the measurement inaccuracy due to the mercury saturation less than 100%in tight sandstone,the mercury pressure curve and T_(2) spectrum is used to cumulate from the maximum pore on the right boundary to the small pores in the left,the range of pore-throat radius measured by the mercury injection in the leftward cumulative curve is selected as a comparable interval of NMR pore-throat radius,and the longitudinal interpolation method and the least square method are utilized to construct the distribution curve of pore-throat radius transformed by T_(2) spectrum.The modified method is used to obtain NMR T_(2) spectrum,conversion coefficient of pore-throat radius and pore-throat radius distribution of the Carboniferous-Permian tight sandstone gas reservoirs in the eastern Linqing depression,and characteristics of reservoir pore structures are quantitatively investigated;in addition,in combination with analysis of thin section and scanning electron microscopy,the reservoir effectiveness and cause of the pore structure variability in the tight sandstone are also well studied.The results show that the NMR pore-throat radius curve obtained by the modified method has a high consistency with the mercury injection curve,and the NMR test accuracy of tight sandstone is significantly improved.In the study area,the pore-throat radius of the Carboniferous-Permian tight sandstone mainly ranges from 0.002 to 2 mm,the pore is generally submicro-nano scale,but the pore-throat radius distribution of different types of sandstone varies significantly.The lithic quartz sandstone is rich in siliceous matter and poor in plastic detritus and matrix,generally dominated by submicro-scale pore-throats including micro-scale porethroats;lithic feldspar sandstone and quartz-rich feldspar lithic sandstone are rich in quartz and poor in plastic detritus and matrix,dominated by submicro-nano scale pore-throats(nano-scale pore-throats predominantly);the lithic fragment-rich feldspar lithic sandstone and lithic sandstone are poor in quartz and rich in plastic detritus and matrix,mainly dominated by nano-scale pore-throats smaller than 0.05 mm.Micropetrographic components are key factors to control pore structure difference and reservoir effectiveness,and the reservoir quality may be macroscopically controlled by sedimentary microfacies;the lithic quartz sandstones of coarse-and fine-grained point bar/riverbed microfacies are the most favorable reservoirs;the lithic feldspar sandstone of fine-grained point bar microfacies,the quartzrich feldspar lithic sandstone of fine-grained distributary channel and barrier bar microfacies are relatively favorable reservoirs,while both lithic fragment-rich feldspar lithic sandstone and lithic sandstone of tidal-flat facies are ineffective reservoirs with very poor porosity and permeability. | Tao Fang Likuan Zhang Naigui Liu Liqiang Zhang Weimin Wang Lan Yu Chao Li Yuhong Lei | 2018 | Petroleum Research2018,3,2: | 2 |

| 17 | Roles of endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis signaling pathways in gynecologic tumor cells:A systematic review显示文摘Efficient functioning of the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) is very important for most cellular activities, such as protein folding and modification. The ER closely interacts with other organelles, including the Golgi body, endosome, membrane, and mitochondria, providing lipids and proteins for the repair of these organelles. ER stress can be induced by various abnormal materials in the cell. ER stress is a compensatory intracellular environment disorder that occurs during areaction. ER can sense the stress and respond to it through translational attenuation, upregulation of the genes for ER chaperones and related proteins, and degradation of unfolded proteins by a quality-control system, but excessive ER activation can cause cell death. The Pubmed and Web of Science databases were searched for full-text articles, and the terms 'endoplasmic reticulum stress/unfolded protein response/gynecologic tumor cell apoptosis' were used as key words. Thirty-five studies of ER stress and unfolded protein response published from 2000 to 2016 were analyzed. Stress triggers apoptosis through a variety of signaling pathways. Increasing evidence has shown that the ER plays an important role in tumor cell diseases.
