1Energy balance closure at ChinaFLUX sites显示文摘Network of eddy covariance observation is measuring long-term carbon and water fluxes in contrasting ecosystems and climates. As one important reference of independently evaluating scalar flux estimates from eddy covariance, energy balance closure is used widely in study of carbon and water fluxes. Energy balance closure in ChinaFLUX was evaluated by statistical regression of turbulent energy fluxes (sensible and latent heat) against available energy (net radiation, soil heat flux, canopy heat storage) and the energy balance ratio (EBR) and the frequency distribution of relative errors of energy balance (δ). The trends of diurnal and seasonal variation of energy balance in ChinaFLUX were analyzed. The results indicated that the imbalance was prevalent in all observation sites, but there were little differences among sites because of the properties variation of sites. The imbalance was greater during nocturnal periods than daytime and closure was improved with friction velocity intensifying. Generally the results suggested that estimates of the scalar turbulent fluxes of sensible and latent heat were underestimated and/or that available energy was overestimated. 4Improving in vitro and in vivo corrosion resistance and biocompatibility of Mg-1Zn-1Sn alloys by microalloying with Sr显示文摘Magnesium(Mg)and its alloys have attracted attention as potential biodegradable materials in orthopedics due to their mechanical and physical properties,which are compatible with those of human bone.However,the effect of the mismatch between the rapid material degradation and fracture healing caused by the adverse effect of hydrogen(H2),which is generated during degradation,on surrounding bone tissue has severely restricted the application of Mg and its alloys.Thus,the development of new Mg alloys to achieve ideal degradation rates,H2 evolution and mechanical properties is necessary.Herein,a novel Mg-1Zn-1Sn-xSr(x=0,0.2,0.4,and 0.6 wt%)quaternary alloy was developed,and the microstructure,mechanical properties,corrosion behavior and biocompatibility in vitro/vivo were investigated.The results demonstrated that a minor amount of strontium(Sr)(0.2 wt%)enhanced the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of Mg-1Zn-1Sn alloy through grain refinement and second phase strengthening.Simultaneously,due to the high hydrogen overpotential of tin(Sn),the H2 release of the alloys was significantly reduced.Furthermore,Sr-containing Mg-1Zn-1Sn-based alloys significantly enhanced the viability,adhesion and spreading of MC3T3-E1 cells in vitro due to their unique biological activity and the ability to spontaneously form a network structure layer with micro/nanotopography.A low corrosion rate and improved biocompatibility were also maintained in a rat subcutaneous implantation model.However,excessive Sr(>0.2 wt%)led to a microgalvanic reaction and accelerated corrosion and H2 evolution.Considering the corrosion resistance,H2 evolution,mechanical properties and biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo,Mg-1Zn-1Sn-0.2Sr alloy has tremendous potential for clinical applications.Yafeng Wen Qingshan Liu Jingfeng Wang Qiming Yang Weikang Zhao Bo Qiao Yuling Li Dianming Jiang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:3
5Rotavirus VP7 epitope chimeric proteins elicit cross-immunoreactivity in guinea pigs显示文摘VP7 of group A rotavirus(RVA) contains major neutralizing epitopes. Using the antigenic protein VP6 as the vector, chimeric proteins carrying foreign epitopes have been shown to possess good immunoreactivity and immunogenicity. In the present study, using modified VP6 as the vector,three chimeric proteins carrying epitopes derived from VP7 of RVA were constructed. The results showed that the chimeric proteins reacted with anti-VP6 and with SA11 and Wa virus strains.Antibodies from guinea pigs inoculated with the chimeric proteins recognized VP6 and VP7 of RVA and protected mammalian cells from SA11 and Wa infection in vitro. The neutralizing activities of the antibodies against the chimeric proteins were significantly higher than those against the vector protein VP6 F. 6CALTPP:A general program to calculate thermophysical properties显示文摘A program CALTPP(CALculation of ThermoPhysical Properties)is developed in order to provide various thermophysical properties such as diffusion coefficient,interfacial energy,thermal conductivity,viscosity and molar volume mainly as function of temperature and composition.These thermophysical properties are very important inputs for microstructure simulations and mechanical property predictions.The general structure of CALTPP is briefly described,and the CALPHAD-type models for the description of these thermophysical properties are presented.The CALTPP program contains the input module,calculation and/or optimization modules and output module.A few case studies including(a)the calculation of diffusion coefficient and optimization of atomic mobility,(b)the calculation of solid/liquid,coherent solid/solid and liquid/liquid interfacial energies,(c)the calculation of thermal conductivity,(d)the calculation of viscosity,and(e)the establishment of molar volume database in binary and ternary alloys are demonstrated to show the features of CALTPP.It is expected that CALTPP will be an effective contribution in both scientific research and education.Yuling Liu Cong Zhang Changfa Du Yong Du Zhoushun Zheng Shuhong Liu Lei Huang Shiyi Wen Youliang Jin Huaqing Zhang Fan Zhang George Kaptay 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,42,7:2

10NIR-II driven plasmon-enhanced cascade reaction for tumor microenvironment-regulated catalytic therapy based on bio-breakable Au-Ag nanozyme显示文摘Emerging nanozymes with natural enzyme-mimicking catalytic activities have inspired extensive research interests due to their high stability,low cost,and simple preparation,especially in the field of catalytic tumor therapy.Here,bio-breakable nanozymes based on glucose-oxidase(GOx)-loaded biomimetic Au–Ag hollow nanotriangles(Au–Ag–GOx HTNs)are designed,and they trigger an near-infrared(NIR)-II-driven plasmon-enhanced cascade catalytic reaction through regulating tumor microenvironment(TME)for highly efficient tumor therapy.Firstly,GOx can effectively trigger the generation of gluconic acid(H+)and hydrogen peroxide(H2O2),thus depleting nutrients in the tumor cells as well as modifying TME to provide conditions for subsequent peroxidase(POD)-like activity.Secondly,NIR-II induced surface plasmon resonance can induce hot electrons to enhance the catalytic activity of Au–Ag–GOx HTNs,eventually boosting the generation of hydroxyl radicals(•OH).Interestingly,the generated H2O2 and H+can simultaneously induce the degradation of Ag nanoprisms to break the intact triangle nanostructure,thus promoting the excretion of Au–Ag–GOx HTNs to avoid the potential risks of drug metabolism.Overall,the NIR-II driven plasmon-enhanced catalytic mechanism of this bio-breakable nanozyme provides a promising approach for the development of nanozymes in tumor therapy.Min Xu Qianglan Lu Yiling Song Lifang Yang Chuchu Ren Wen Li Ping Liu Yule Wang Yan Zhu Nan Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,8:1

14Study of the spangle size of 55% Al- Zn- Si steel显示文摘The spangle size of the 55% Al-Zn-Si steel is affected by the composition of the zinc pot,the cooling capacity after plating,and the substrate. According to previous studies,the size of spangles can be reduced by increasing the cooling ability after plating,and by adding Ti in the zinc pot. However,these two methods cannot reduce the spangle size smaller than 1. 5 mm. 15Body weights in Han Chinese populations显示文摘The body weights of 26,954 Han Chinese adults in 67 areas(16,503 in rural areas and 10,451 in urban areas) across China were measured from 2009 to2013.The results showed that in China,the three areas(north China,northeast China,and Jianghuai Plain) were with the greatest body weight.Northwest Han Chinese populations were heavier.Southwestern dialect groups were at the middle level and lighter than northern Han Chinese populations,but were heavier among southern Han Chinese populations.Chinese Han who located in areas of Hangjiahu were the general level,and similar to southwestern dialect groups.The mean values of body weight in Hunan Han and Fujian Han were greater than other Han groups in southern China.Gan dialect groups and Cantonese dialect groups showed the minimum body weightvalue in all Chinese Han groups.Besides,the mean body weight of Hakka was heavier than Gan dialect groups and Cantonese dialect groups which were adjacent to Hakka.Body weight increases with an increase in height,bone diameter,subcutaneous fat on the limbs and trunk,chest circumference,and abdomen circumference.This study revealed that northern Han men were heavier than southern Han men,because the former were taller and had a larger waist circumference as well as thicker subcutaneous fat on their backs.Among women,height,bone diameter of the upper limbs,chest and abdomen circumferences,and subcutaneous fat on the limbs and trunks of northern Han exceeded those of rural southern Han.Consequently,body weight values of northern Han women were higher than those of southern Han women.While a significant difference in these values was found between urban and rural men,no significant difference occurred between urban and rural women.Body weight was associated with age in urban and rural men only in the case of minority groups.However,there was a positive correlation between body weight and age in the majority groups of both urban and rural women.The particular composition of genes involved in body weight traits of Han populations across the country has created a genetic foundation accounting for varying body weights of different Han populations.Environmental factors also play a role.As the Han are widely dispersed,their habitation areas vary according to factors such as topography,temperature,precipitation,humidity,and light.Moreover,labor intensity,food composition,and the intake of various nutrients also differ across Han populations.All of these factors have affected the development of body weight in Han populations living in different locations.Yonglan Li Lianbin Zheng Huanjiu Xi Keli Yu Shunhua Lu Jinyuan Tian Xue Song Jinping Bao Yuling Li Xinghua Zhang Youfeng Wen Fu Ren 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35:1

18Common genetic heterogeneity of human interleukin-37 leads to functional variance显示文摘Interleukin-37(IL-37)is an inhibitory member of the IL-1 family of cytokines.We previously found that balanced selection maintains common variations of the human IL37 gene.However,the functional consequences of this selection have yet to be validated.Here,using cells expressing exogenous IL-37 variants,including IL-37 Ref and IL-37 Var1 and Var2,we found that the three variants of IL-37 exhibited different immunoregulatory potencies in response to immune stimulation.The protein level of IL-37 Var2 was found to be significantly less than that of IL-37 Ref or Var1,despite the comparable mRNA levels of all three variants.Further study showed that IL-37 Var2 was rapidly degraded by a proteasome-dependent mechanism mediated by enhanced polyubiquitination,leading to a transient upregulation of IL-37 Var2 after immune stimulation.Finally,when ectopically expressed in cells,human IL-37 Var2 exerted less inhibition on proinflammatory cytokine production than did other IL-37 variants.Conversely,purified extracellular IL-37 variant proteins demonstrated comparable inhibitory abilities in vitro.In conclusion,our study reveals that common genetic variants of IL37 lead to different immune-inhibitory potencies,primarily as a result of differences in IL-37 protein stability,suggesting the possible involvement of these variants in various human diseases.Jingjing Yan Yuling Zhang Shimeng Cheng Bin Kang Jinbiao Peng Xiaodan Zhang Meichun Yuan Wenqi Chu Wen Zhang Jiayin Shen Shuye Zhang 2017Cellular & Molecular Immunology2017,14,9:1
19The novel peptide Nb PPI1 identified from Nicotiana benthamiana triggers immune responses and enhances resistance against Phytophthora pathogens显示文摘In plants, recognition of small secreted peptides, such as damage/danger-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs), regulates diverse processes,includingstressandimmune responses. Here, we identified an SGPS(Ser-Gly-Pro-Ser) motif-containing peptide, Nicotiana tabacum NtPROPPI, and its two homologs in Nicotiana benthamiana, NbPROPPI1 and NbPROPPI2. Phytophthora parasitica infection and salicylic acid(SA) treatment induced NbPROPPI1/2 expression. Moreover, SignalP predicted that the 89-amino acid NtPROPPI includes a 24-amino acid N-terminal signal peptide and NbPROPPI1/2-GFP fusion proteins were mainly localized to the periplasm. Transient expression of NbPROPPI1/2 inhibited P.parasiticacolonization,andNbPROPPI1/2 knockdown rendered plants more susceptible to P. parasitica. An eight-amino-acid segment in the NbPROPPI1 C-terminus was essential for its immune function and a synthetic 20-residue peptide, NbPPI1, derived from the C-terminus of NbPROPPI1 provoked significant immune responses in N. benthamiana. These responses led to enhanced accumulation of reactive oxygen species, activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases, and up-regulation of the defense genes Flg22-induced receptor-like kinase(FRK) and WRKY DNA-binding protein 33(WRKY33). The NbPPI1-induced defense responses require Brassinosteroid insensitive1-associated receptor kinase 1(BAK1).
