1Relationships Between Yield, Quality and Nitrogen Uptake and Utilization of Organically Grown Rice Varieties显示文摘Due to the relatively late start of organic rice(Oryza sativa L.) research in China,there is a still lack of systematic research on rice varieties,organic fertilizer management practices,and especially the mechanisms of nitrogen(N) uptake and utilization.Three rice varieties,Nanjing 5055,Nanjing 9108,and Nanjing 46,were grown under organic farming(OF) at three organic fertilizer levels(103.2,160.8,and 218.4 kg N ha^(-1)) and conventional farming(CF) with regular chemical fertilizers.Rice grain yields,yield components,and quality,dry matter accumulation,and plant N were measured at different growth stages during the 2012 and 2013 growing seasons.Compared with CF,OF had a significantly reduced yield.Nanjing 9108 showed significant reductions in number of panicles per unit area and percentage of filled grains,and had the lowest yield.The effects of fertilizer type and application rate on dry matter accumulation during the main growth periods were significant for all varieties.The N content and uptake in organically grown rice were lower compared with those of rice under CF.The N recovery efficiency and N agronomic efficiency were significantly lower,whereas N physiological efficiency and N partial factor productivity were greater under OF than under CF.Under OF,the processing quality showed a slight but insignificant decline,protein content and gel consistency increased,and amylose content decreased compared with those under CF.Correlation analysis showed that under OF,grain yield was significantly correlated with N uptake.The medium organic fertilizer level(160.8 kg N ha^(-1)) was found to be the optimum fertilizer treatment,and Nanjing 46 appeared to be the best variety for organic rice cultivation.To increase rice grain yields and reduce the potential risk of non-point source pollution in organic agriculture,further research is needed to improve the N use efficiency in organic rice cultivation.HUANG Lifen YU Jun YANG Jie ZHANG Rong BAI Yanchao SUN Chengming ZHUANG Hengyang 2016Pedosphere2016,26,1:11
2pH-sensitive polymeric micelles triggered drug release for extracellular and intracellular drug targeting delivery显示文摘Most of the conventional chemotherapeutic agents used for cancer chemotherapy suffer from multidrug resistance of tumor cells and poor antitumor efficacy.Based on physiological differences between the normal tissue and the tumor tissue,one effective approach to improve the efficacy of cancer chemotherapy is to develop pH-sensitive polymeric micellar delivery systems.The copolymers with reversible protonationedeprotonation core units or acid-liable bonds between the therapeutic agents and the micelle-forming copolymers can be used to form pH-sensitive polymeric micelles for extracellular and intracellular drug smart release.These systems can be triggered to release drug in response to the slightly acidic extracellular fluids of tumor tissue after accumulation in tumor tissues via the enhanced permeability and retention effect,or they can be triggered to release drug in endosomes or lysosomes by pH-controlled micelle hydrolysis or dissociation after uptake by cells via the endocytic pathway.The pH-sensitive micelles have been proved the specific tumor cell targeting,enhanced cellular internalization,rapid drug release,and multidrug resistance reversal.The multifunctional polymeric micelles combining extracellular pH-sensitivity with receptor-mediated active targeting strategies are of great interest for enhanced tumor targeting.The micelles with receptor-mediated and intracellular pH targeting functions are internalized via receptor-mediated endocytosis followed by endosomal-pH triggered drug release inside the cells,which reverses multidrug resistance.The pH sensitivity strategy of the polymeric micelles facilitates the specific drug delivery with reduced systemic side effects and improved chemotherapeutical efficacy,and is a novel promising platform for tumor-targeting drug delivery.Yanhua Liu Wenping Wang Jianhong Yang Chengming Zhou Jin Sun 2013Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences2013,8,3:11
3Molecular heterogeneity of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy efficacy is correlated with tumor immune microenvironment in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate how the tumor immune microenvironment differs regarding tumor genomics,as well as its impact on prognoses and responses to immunotherapy in East Asian patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:We performed an integrated analysis using publicly available data to identify associations between anti-programmed death 1(PD-1)/programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)immunotherapy efficacy and classic driver oncogene mutations in East Asian NSCLC patients.Four pooled and clinical cohort analyses were used to correlate driver oncogene mutation status and tumor microenvironment based on PD-L1 and CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs).Immune infiltrating patterns were also established for genomic NSCLC subgroups using the CIBERSORT algorithm.Results:Based on East Asian NSCLC patients,TIDE analyses revealed that for anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy,epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)-mutant and anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-rearranged tumors yielded inferior responses;however,although Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS)-mutant tumors responded better,the difference was not statistically significant(EGFR:P=0.037;ALK:P<0.001;KRAS:P=0.701).Pooled and clinical cohort analyses demonstrated tumor immune microenvironment heterogeneities correlated with oncogenic patterns.The results showed remarkably higher PD-L1-and TIL-positive KRAS-mutant tumors,suggesting KRAS mutations may drive an inflammatory phenotype with adaptive immune resistance.However,the EGFR-mutant or ALK-rearranged groups showed a remarkably higher proportion of PD-L1-/TIL-tumors,suggesting an uninflamed phenotype with immunological ignorance.Notably,similar to triple wild-type NSCLC tumors,EGFR L858R-mutant tumors positively correlated with an inflammatory phenotype,suggesting responsiveness to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy(P<0.05).Furthermore,the CIBERSORT algorithm results revealed that EGFR-mutant and ALK-rearranged tumors were characterized by an enriched resting memory CD4+T cell population(P<0.001),as well as a lack of CD8+T cells(P<0.01),and activated memory CD4+T cells(P=0.001).Conclusions:Our study highlighted the complex relationships between immune heterogeneity and immunotherapeutic responses in East Asian NSCLC patients regarding oncogenic dependence.Runsen Jin Chengming Liu Sufei Zheng Xinfeng Wang Xiaoli Feng Hecheng Li Nan Sun Jie He 2020Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3:10
4KRAS-G12D mutation drives immune suppression and the primary resistance of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘Background:Although immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)against programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and its ligand PD-L1 have demonstrated potency towards treating patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC),the potential association between Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS)oncogene substitutions and the efficacy of ICIs remains unclear.In this study,we aimed to find point mutations in the KRAS gene resistant to ICIs and elucidate resistance mechanism.Methods:The association between KRAS variant status and the efficacy of ICIs was explored with a clinical cohort(n=74),and confirmed with a mouse model.In addition,the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME)of KRASmutant NSCLC,such as CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs)and PD-L1 level,was investigated.Cell lines expressing classic KRAS substitutions were used to explore signaling pathway activation involved in the formation of TIME.Furthermore,interventions that improved TIME were developed to increase responsiveness to ICIs.Results:We observed the inferior efficacy of ICIs in KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC.Based upon transcriptome data and immunostaining results from KRAS-mutant NSCLC,KRAS-G12D point mutation negatively correlated with PD-L1 level and secretion of chemokines CXCL10/CXCL11 that led to a decrease in CD8+TILs,which in turn yielded an immunosuppressive TIME.The analysis of cell lines overexpressing classic KRAS substitutions further revealed that KRAS-G12D mutation suppressed PD-L1 level via the P70S6K/PI3K/AKT axis and reduced CXCL10/CXCL11 levels by down-regulating high mobility group protein A2(HMGA2)level.Notably,paclitaxel,a chemotherapeutic agent,upregulated HMGA2 level,and in turn,stimulated the secretion of CXCL10/CXCL11.Moreover,PD-L1 blockade combined with paclitaxel significantly suppressed tumor growth compared with PD-L1 inhibitor monotherapy in a mouse model with KRAS-G12D-mutant lung adenocarcinoma.Further analyses revealed that the combined treatment significantly enhanced the recruitment of CD8+TILs via the up-regulation of CXCL10/CXCL11 levels.Results of clinical study also revealed the superior efficacy of chemo-immunotherapy in patients with KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC compared with ICI monotherapy.Conclusions:Our study elucidated the molecular mechanism by which KRASG12D mutation drives immunosuppression and enhances resistance of ICIs in NSCLC.Importantly,our findings demonstrate that ICIs in combination with chemotherapy may be more effective in patients with KRAS-G12D-mutant NSCLC.Chengming Liu Sufei Zheng Zhanyu Wang Sihui Wang Xinfeng Wang Lu Yang Haiyan Xu Zheng Cao Xiaoli Feng Qi Xue Yan Wang Nan Sun Jie He 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,9:4
5Attapulgite nanorods assisted surface engineering for separator to achieve high-performance lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have been recognized as one of the most promising candidates for nextgeneration portable electronic devices,owing to their extremely high energy density and low cost.However,the dissolution of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and consequent'shuttle effect'seriously hinder the practical deployment of Li-S batteries.Herein,multi-metal oxide nanorods named attapulgite are proposed as multifunctional ionic sieve to immobilize LiPSs and further promote the regulation of LiPSs.Attapulgite,consisting of Al,Mg,Fe,Si and O ions,possesses more polar sites to immobilize LiPSs in comparison with single metal oxides.In addition,the catalytic nature(Fe ions)of attapulgite avails the LiPSs conversion reaction,which is further confirmed by the linear sweep voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.Benefited from the synergistic effect of multi-metal oxide and conductive carbon,the Li-S battery with the modified separator delivers remarkable discharge capacities of 1059.4 mAh g-1 and 792.5 mAh g-1 for the first and 200th cycle at 0.5 C,respectively.The work presents an effective way to improve the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries by employing attapulgite nanorods assisted separator surface engineering.Wenhao Sun Xiaogang Sun Naseem Akhtar Chengming Li Weikun Wang Anbang Wang Kai Wang Yaqin Huang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9:4

7Geochemistry of the Batang Group in the Zhaokalong Area, Yushu, Qinghai: Implications for the Late Triassic Tectonism in the Northern Sanjiang Region, China显示文摘The Batang Group in the Zhaokalong area not only hosts an important Fe-Cu polymetallic deposit but also reveal important insights for the Late Triassic tectonism in the northern Sanjiang region. In order to delineate the tectonic setting and evolutionary process of the paleo arc-basin system, geochemical studies on the Batang Group strata have been carried out. The results suggest that andesite in the Zhaokalong area mainly belongs to the tholeiite series and is characterized by obvious fractionation of LREE and HREE, enrichment in LILE and depletion in HFSE, and a distinctly elevated δ^(34)SCDT average of 10.5‰. The sandstone is classified as lithic sandstone, which is also characterized by obvious fractionation of LREE and HREE, as well as weak negative Ce and Eu anomalies. The limestone displays positive Eu anomalies, with δ^(13)CPDB ranging from-1.3‰ to 4.4‰ and δ^(18) OSMOW ranging from 14.6‰ to 22.5‰. These results indicate that the andesite has a dual signature of both arc andesite and rift volcanic rocks, whereas the sandstone may be formed in an active continental margin, and the limestone could be deposited in a weak oxidizing shallow sea. The sandstone in the Zhaokalong area represents sedimentation in a platform slope facies, corresponding to the main stage of the Jinshajing oceanic basin subduction during the middle period of Late Triassic. The continental arc volcanic activity resulted from subsequent strengthened subduction, forming the andesite in the North Qiangtang backarc basin. Afterwards, the limestone was formed after the cessation of magmatic activity. 8Effects of free-air CO_2 enrichment on adventitious root development of rice under low and normal soil nitrogen levels显示文摘Free air CO2 enrichment(FACE) and nitrogen(N) have marked effects on rice root growth,and numerical simulation can explain these effects. To further define the effects of FACE on root growth of rice, an experiment was performed, using the hybrid indica cultivar Xianyou63. The effects of increasing atmospheric CO2 concentration [CO2], 200 μmol mol-1higher than ambient, on the growth of rice adventitious roots were evaluated, with two levels of N: low(LN, 125 kg ha-1) and normal(NN, 250 kg ha-1). The results showed a significant increase in both adventitious root number(ARN) and adventitious root length(ARL) under FACE treatment. The application of nitrogen also increased ARN and ARL, but these increases were smaller than that under FACE treatment. On the basis of the FACE experiment, numerical models for rice adventitious root number and length were constructed with time as the driving factor. The models illustrated the dynamic development of rice adventitious root number and length after transplanting, regulated either by atmospheric [CO2] or by N application.The simulation result was supported by statistical tests comparing experimental data from different years, and the model yields realistic predictions of root growth. 13A novel recurrence-associated metabolic prognostic model for risk stratification and therapeutic response prediction in patients with stage Ⅰ lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Objective:The proportion of patients with stageⅠlung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)has dramatically increased with the prevalence of low-dose computed tomography use for screening.Up to 30%of patients with stageⅠLUAD experience recurrence within 5 years after curative surgery.A robust risk stratification tool is urgently needed to identify patients who might benefit from adjuvant treatment.Methods:In this first investigation of the relationship between metabolic reprogramming and recurrence in stageⅠLUAD,we developed a recurrence-associated metabolic signature(RAMS).This RAMS was based on metabolism-associated genes to predict cancer relapse and overall prognoses of patients with stageⅠLUAD.The clinical significance and immune landscapes of the signature were comprehensively analyzed.Results:Based on a gene expression profile from the GSE31210 database,functional enrichment analysis revealed a significant difference in metabolic reprogramming that distinguished patients with stageⅠLUAD with relapse from those without relapse.We then identified a metabolic signature(i.e.,RAMS)represented by 2 genes(ACADM and RPS8)significantly related to recurrence-free survival and overall survival times of patients with stageⅠLUAD using transcriptome data analysis of a training set.The training set was well validated in a test set.The discriminatory power of the 2 gene metabolic signature was further validated using protein values in an additional independent cohort.The results indicated a clear association between a high risk score and a very poor patient prognosis.Stratification analysis and multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the RAMS was an independent prognostic factor.We also found that the risk score was positively correlated with inflammatory response,the antigen-presenting process,and the expression levels of many immunosuppressive checkpoint molecules(e.g.,PD-L1,PD-L2,B7-H3,galectin-9,and FGL-1).These results suggested that high risk patients had immune response suppression.Further analysis revealed that anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy did not have significant benefits for high risk patients.However,the patients could respond better to chemotherapy.Conclusions:This study is the first to highlight the relationship between metabolic reprogramming and recurrence in stageⅠLUAD,and is the first to also develop a clinically feasible signature.This signature may be a powerful prognostic tool and help further optimize the cancer therapy paradigm.Chengming Liu Sihui Wang Sufei Zheng Xinfeng Wang Jianbin Huang Yuanyuan Lei Shuangshuang Mao Xiaoli Feng Nan Sun Jie He 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,3:1

15Estimation of Remote Sensing and Analysis of Temporal and Spatial Distribution of Grassland LAI显示文摘To estimate the leaf area index(LAI)in large areas,this paper analyzes the relationships between normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)and the grassland LAI based on MODIS data in the southern grassy mountains and slopes of China.By using nonlinear fitting equation we constructed the basic estimation model of grassland LAI with NDVI as the independent variable and introduced precipitation and temperature as regulatory factors.The model was validated with observed data in different years and the results showed that there was a good correlation between the simulated and observed LAI value with a statistically significant level of R2.RMSE was 0.302 and RRMSE was 0.154.It was also found that the spatial distribution of grassland LAI in south China showed a remarkable zonal characterization,and temporal distribution showed a single peak curve.These results provided a theoretical basis for the effective management of southern grassland resources and the carbon sink estimation of the nationwide grasslands.Chengming SUN Tao LIU Doudou GUO Ting TIAN Lijian WANG Yingying CHEN Jianlong LI 2013Asian Agricultural Research2013,5,11:0

20Probing reaction pathways for H_(2)O-mediated HCHO photooxidation at room temperature显示文摘Photooxidation provides a promising strategy for removing the dominant indoor pollutant of HCHO,while the underlying photooxidation mechanism is still unclear,especially the exact role of H2O molecules.Herein,we utilize in-situ spectral techniques to unveil the H2O-mediated HCHO photooxidation mechanism.As an example,the synthetic defective Bi2WO6 ultrathin sheets realize high-rate HCHO photooxidation with the assistance of H2O at room temperature.In-situ electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy demonstrates the existence of•OH radicals,possibly stemmed from H2O oxidation by the photoexcited holes.Synchrotron-radiation vacuum ultraviolet photoionization mass spectroscopy and H218O isotope-labeling experiment directly evidence the formed•OH radicals as the source of oxygen atoms,trigger HCHO photooxidation to produce CO2,while in-situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy discloses the HCOO*radical is the main photooxidation intermediate.Density-functional-theory calculations further reveal the•OH formation process is the rate-limiting step,strongly verifying the critical role of H2O in promoting HCHO photooxidation.This work first clearly uncovers the H2O-mediated HCHO photooxidation mechanism,holding promise for high-efficiency indoor HCHO removal at ambient conditions.Weiwei Shao Xiaodong Li Xiaolong Zu Liang Liang Yang Pan Junfa Zhu Chengming Wang Yongfu Sun Yi Xie 2021Nano Research2021,14,5:0
